The Kraken Lounge

The pizza here is honestly some of the best I’ve had in Brownsville, without a doubt. The price for a whole one is definitely a steal, I loved the crunchy crust and the cheese was excellent. Very, very good. This is also a really sweet bar, the service is quick, the atmosphere is super nice, and there’s some good local talent that come to perform from time to time. A gem if there ever was one!

Cool spot to hang out. Drinks are good and priced right. The best part is the live bands and DJs they bring in always makes for a fun night. Chill vibe and solid atmosphere all around.

The owner is very friendly and welcoming. There’s a little bit of everything for every music taste. It’s one of the only places in Brownsville catered to the alternative music scene which makes this place a gem for many looking to enjoy Metal, Goth, Industrial, Punk, and other sub-genres. Karaoke Wednesday is always a blast. And the pizza is delish.

The Kraken is a badass dive bar located in historic downtown Brownville, Tx. You can go here for ice cold beers and try their delicious pizza! Live bands or DJ play during the weekends. The Kraken also hosts events and loves celebrating the holidays.

Went in on a Thursday night (early) and the vibe was great even though there weren’t a lot of people yet. They only serve beer, which isn’t a problem. Pizza was good, the beer was good, it’s a good place to just hang out.

Good specials, good service, but dead 💀 on a Friday night. Apparently what I consider dead is “as busy as it gets” according to Google. Drinks are decent. No set menu, but specials provide a decent jumping off point.

One of the big guys was kind of rude last time I went. He almost always is when the place is nearly empty. Better off going to the Jukebox.

Awesome dive bar!!!! I heard it was meant to be a pizza parlor at first, but the ambient and setting made people go in for a beer more often than for a slice of pizza. Good pizza, they got a patio, it is a rock n roll bar. Picture was from a "punk market" they hosted there, so I doubt it gets that packed as often.

A true Rock Bar with awesome beer and pizza specials! The Kraken has a great artistic vibe with fantastic staff. Love all the local art that decors its walls! Its a dark with a friendly vibe!!!

Always a great place to chill,drink some super cold beers & listen to alternative rock...My favorite place to get away from the repetitive reggaeton of all other local bars..

The ambiance of this place was so delightful, reminding me of a place I used to frequent in New York. The food was such a pleasant surprise as it surpassed my expectations. It is as if Chef Ramsey made the pizza himself. The beers are ice cold to the tip and the staff was so pleasant and friendly; making me feel like family. The owner Daniel Alvarado is a great great man. He is the type of entrepreneurial leadership Brownsville needs to thrive. Will definitely be returning and reccomend this fine establishment to all.

Ribs are good. Tried the cream corn - not to good. They have no chicken. :( Seems like a cool place for some beers and music.
