What to Know About the Mysterious New Food Hall in Southeast Portland | Eater Portland

"Originally from east of Portland in Gresham, The Krazy Kokonut—run by Justice Taylor and Krista Larsen—offers breakfast and acai bowls such as chia seed parfaits, English muffin breakfast sandwiches, and coconut-chip-topped acai bowls aimed at morning commuters, and plans to add grilled skewers with chicken and veggies down the line, though it has yet to get a hood at this location." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

So good! The Krazy Kokonut is one of those hidden gems in Oregon City. Their açaí bowls are fresh, easy, and absolutely delicious — perfect mix of creamy, fruity, and refreshing. You can taste the quality in every bite. It’s a simple food cart, but everything is clean, quick, and full of good energy. Perfect spot when you want something tasty and healthy without waiting forever. Definitely coming back again! 🥥🍓✨

Google
My partner and I come here every week and it NEVER disappoints. The Acai bowls are the best I’ve ever had and the staff is always extremely kind and helpful. 10/10 would recommend

Google
My partner and I just moved to the area and love this place—great smoothies, super fresh, and mostly dairy-free, which is very important to us since my partner has a severe (anaphylactic) dairy allergy. We’ve visited a few times with no issue, but we were surprised to see a recent special made with half-and-half, since we’d previously been told dairy isn’t in any of the smoothies and doesn’t usually go in the blenders. We’d love to suggest keeping one blender dedicated dairy-free for allergy safety (and for vegan or kosher folks too). We really do love this spot and hope to keep coming back often. Thanks for all you do!

Google
PERFECTLY PALEO I had the two chicken skewers with two veggies and LOVED it! All the food was perfectly cooked, but could’ve used some more seasoning. Would definitely go there again and would get a single skewer with veg next time. They have HUGE portions.

Google
I recently tried The Krazy Kokonut in Oregon City, and I am hooked! Their acai bowls are simply the best in East County, hands down. I had the Krazy Koko Special, and it was perfection—rich, creamy, and packed with fresh toppings like granola, strawberries, and a delightful drizzle of buckwheat honey. The peanut butter added a wonderful texture and flavor that complemented the entire bowl. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, and you can really taste the freshness in every bite. Plus, the ambiance at The Krazy Kokonut is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a healthy treat. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and nutritious acai bowl experience!

Google
I got a Açaí bowl in a 1/2 bowl. It tasted good, and was a good portion. I wish there was more information online or at the location on what kind of frozen mix they use for the base. There is only simple ingredients like, acai, berries, honey, etc. They use plastic bowls and spoons (that look like mini shovels) that are pretty cheap for the prices they charge, but as far as I know this spot is pretty new.

Brenda M.

Google
I stopped here for an Acai bowl and ended up being so dissapointed. I get them weekly at another location, but wanted to try and support local. The prices are ridiculous for what you get. A tiny, and I mean tiny bowl for $17.00. That's even more expensive than Hawaii. If you want a great Acai bowl and want it for a fraction of these prices, visit Vitality Bowl and you won't be disappointed. This place is a joke and I'm sorry I ever gave them a dollar.

Google
The lady that served us was SUPER nice and friendly. The food and coffee are amazing. We came back twice when we were in town! Highly recommend giving this place a chance!

Yelp
Go to The Krazy Kokonut at Corner 14 because I told you to. Krista runs the cart, owner, mother, chef, all heart. She's there sun-up to sun-down, and the food matches her work ethic: thoughtful, healthy, and ridiculously good. Start your morning with a veggie breakfast sandwich loaded with avocado (it gets a little messy, but worth it). My wife goes for the bacon sandwich. Or grab one of the parfait cups layered with coconut, chia, fruit, and agave. For lunch, the grilled chicken and veggie combo with cauliflower rice tastes like it just came off a backyard grill. If you're more of a smoothie or acai bowl person, those are packed with fresh fruit and power-food goodness. Kids love it, too. The bright colors, wholesome options, and friendly vibe make it easy to bring the family. I'll usually order a Koko Latte as a treat. My wife will need her own. No sharing. Point is, it's good. It's really good. It's one of those spots that makes you want to write a review just because it deserves it. Krista's created a food cart that's both healthy and full of flavor, perfect for people who want to eat well without giving up taste. I've had to make a few changes in my diet recently, and her menu has made that way easier and tastier. It's not just food. It's heart and heart-healthy. You can taste it. Thank you, Krista and The Krazy Kokonut.

Yelp
Smoothies are fun. Fruit is fun. Know what's not fun? Employees at this food cart who are rude and entitled. Our 10-year-old daughter decided to give this place her business today. She ordered two smoothies. One of them had strawberry in it. The other was mango berry. As she picked it up, our daughter asked: "which one is strawberry?" The 50-something lady operating this place snapped at her and pointed at one of the smoothies and said "this one, obviously, it's red!!" They were both reddish. In what world is it ok to snap at someone else's child? A kid who asked a legit question? A kid who is PAYING YOU for a product? Snapping at a child? Who is a customer? Get a grip. The subsequent exchange between parent and the employee was not any better. I get it. People have a bad day. People sometimes suck. But I can assure you we will never give this place our business. Unacceptable. Rude. The entitlement is gross... ever see those food carts with nobody in line? This place doesn't deserve your business. Low class. Bush league. Maybe just a bad day... the business is supposedly run by a "mother of four"... who "cares about the community." Didn't appear to care today. Treat your customers better. You lost one today.

Yelp
I stopped in for a sweet treat after a hugely disappointing dinner at a different food cart at Corner 14, and am very happy that I did! I got a mango parfait cup, and it was AWESOME! Not overly sweet, and super fresh, and super delicious. The coconut cream with chia seeds is texturally amazing and very flavorful. The employee was also very helpful and friendly. I'm really looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
These guys have the most delicious açaí bowls and bomb breakfast sandwiches. They're at the Corner 14 food cart pod so a fun place to kick back. The açaí bowls come with lots of yummy toppings and they've got these homemade coconut chips that are super tasty. Savory items like grilled chicken skewers and grilled cheese are also available. Friendly ladies manning the cart. Not to mention this is the only place like this in the area that I know of, I don't know anywhere in OC you can get a fresh smoothie bowl of any kind.
google avatar

Katelyn H.

Yelp
Expensive, overpriced, service is 2 star at best. OC must be hurting for a good smoothie shop.

Yelp
Update: I can no longer recommend this place due to the service and attitude of the owner after going the second time. Decided to go here to get takeout for my out-of-town family before they left for the airport. Flight was leaving early so we went as soon as it opened (9:08 am) and placed our order for 4 crazy koko special bowls, one breakfast sandwich and one order of the grilled veggies. The lady was clearly irritated ("FOUR bowls?") and told us for "large orders" we should call ahead but clarified she won't pick up before 9 am. Weird, who doesn't want more orders? Anyway, we got our buzzer and were told 20 minutes. 20, 30, 40 minutes pass, and a few people come and go with their orders. We were patiently waiting, but getting irritated (we ordered food for 5 people, not 20). 45 minutes and the buzzer rings, and we go to pick up our food to be greeted by the reply "You guys should have checked in for your food. It's been ready for a bit but I forgot your buzzer number and we've been busy with other orders" WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL? When we got home, we found out the acai bowls were missing the peanut butter. What a complete disappointment. Guess i need to find another acai bowl place.

Yelp
They were out of GF bread at 10:30 in the morning. But it wasn't that bad overall. I had the breakfast sandwich.

Baran M.

Yelp
Their **emerado coffee** is exceptional--rich, bold, and perfectly balanced with hints of dark chocolate and caramel. The owner is incredibly sweet and welcoming, adding a personal touch to every . Highly recommend!

Yelp
Food is great got a breakfast sandwich and Açaí bowl everything was very fresh and cooked excellent! Tried a latte with coconut milk for the first time and it was amazing. The service was very friendly and quick. Looking forward to coming here more often!

Jill W.

Yelp
I wish I could share my review of the food at Krazy Kokonut. I ordered the Original Chicken and asked for onions in addition to mushrooms (added $6 which I did agree to pay) for a total of $20. After waiting 30 minutes I gave up on waiting and left. One star is given for the multiple drinks that were handed off while I waited for my food to my completed. It appears this is an establishment to order your smoothies, food only if you have plenty of time and money to spare.

Yelp
I have ordered delivery twice now and am very impressed. The breakfast sandwiches are hot, fresh and tasty! Today I tried the Veggie Combo and HOLY MOLY - IT IS SO GOOD! It is hard to find a place to get delicious veggies and I am so glad to have found this spot. I have some tomato soup in the fridge waiting for me, also :) The hot apple cider is so perfect. Great for a chilly day. And the coffee cubes in the iced coffee to keep the flavor is an idea every place should adopt! Lovely, friendly customer service. Can't wait for my next experience!!

Daniel D.

Yelp
The açaí bowl is perfect for a hot summer day. It's loaded with honey making it perfect for sweet-lovers. I wasn't crazy about the mango berry smoothie. The berries overpowered the mango and it lacked sweetness.
google avatar

Tenley H.

Yelp
I've picked up food from here a couple times and love that you can get convenient healthy food that doesn't taste like diet food! The tomato soup and breakfast sandwiches are especially good. Solid coffee drinks, too. Also love her random deals (like BOGO soup and grilled cheese? Seriously, thank you!!) Can't wait for warmer weather so I can try the acai bowls!

Paige B.

Yelp
Most amazing refreshing açaí bowl ever! Best thing I could've got on a nice sunny day. And I didn't catch the cute girls name that was working but she was very helpful and sweet. 7/26/23

Cheryl S.

Yelp
I went to this place, and I asked about gluten-free options. The person that I talked to, and she was a nice woman, told me that they had gluten-free options here. Subsequently, I asked her whether they used precautions. She told me that they cook on a cast iron pan, and that she felt that was protective. I informed her that that actually doesn't work, and she reiterated that she had never had an issue with the public. I just don't think it's safe to eat here if you have Celiac disease, and even if you have wheat gluten intolerance, it's not the best idea. It's unfortunate at the people don't educate themselves when it comes to food service and preparation. To label that food gluten-free is very inaccurate. Someone is going to get very ill in that restaurant, and I don't think she has the capacity to understand that the neurological effects and the effects to the body are severe. Beware!

Sasha F.

Yelp
I've been craving a good homemade grilled cheese and tomato soup, happened to stumble upon The Krazy Kokonut and I'm so glad I did! Delicious meal, can't wait to come back to try their other menu items!
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
There are some exceptionally good açaí in CA and Hawaii, but this is hands down the best I've ever had!!! The coconut chips are so amazingly crunchy! Never had it like that before and it is now my absolute favorite topping! They did something to the granola too because that is the best granola I've ever had. It's airy and so different.. also, CRUNCHY! Must try!!
google avatar

Yelp
I saw someone recommend this amazing food cart not far from my house in a local Facebook Group and decided to try it for lunch today. Wow! First of all I called the order in and it was ready in 15 minutes (that's fast!) Secondly both the owner and employee working were friendly. Lastly, but certainly not least the food is so good! I got the Original Combo. The chicken skewer was flavored so perfectly. Had great flavor with a little bit of spice (but no too much which is my ideal). I choose asparagus as my grilled vegetable and there was a huge portion and it was grilled just right. They put that on top of cauliflower rice which was very good. I am so glad I tried this wonderful food cart. I filled up, but don't fill icky since the food is healthier. I can't wait to try their other items. They are moving soon, so I hope it's a location that helps them stay open because they are so yummy!

Naylita100 ..

Yelp
I absolutely loved there grilled cheese and tomato soup! Also the koko loko smoothie!! Will def be returning

Tina T.

Yelp
They were in an odd location and their prices are meh but their food was pretty yummy!! I have been craving a pb and j sandwich and they made me one for $3. I also have never tried an acai bowl so i got the 1/2 size for $8. The frozen base was delicious, kiwi was fresh, and peanut butter chia was heavenly. My boyfriend got a decent breakfast sandwich and a very yummy smoothie (the koko loco?). I wish i asked about the deal on yelp, but don't forget to support your fellow locals!! They were great!
google avatar

Cathryn M.

Yelp
I do my very best to rate only the great places to eat good food... This is rated 4.9!!!! I was expecting a freshly made strawberry mango smoothie and bacon, sausage, and egg and cheese breakfast sandwich. I can tell that the sandwiches are not fresh and have an "off" smell..the chia seed parfait only had strawberry type jam on it not fresh fruit...the coconut chia pudding is the only thing that tasted half way decent... Neither of the girls in the food truck could tell me if the smoothie or pudding had refined sugar in them...Disappointing at best. Something has gone way wrong...
google avatar

Dany C.

Yelp
Love this place!! I would like to say I know how to make an "Açaí Bowl," but The Krazy Kolonut is killin mine!! I also enjoy the "Combo" with the chicken * mushrooms * zucchini ** A1
google avatar

Erica P.

Yelp
This is my third order from this lovely gem. I am so amazed at the quality of my order. The food and drinks are amazing to the point where no crumb is left behind. I highly recommend the following: - iced coffee w/ whole milk and caramel - kids meal with grilled cheese, banana & strawberries, and cold cider - açaí bowl w/ The Original base + coconut chips, kiwi & strawberries w/ honey sweetener - grilled cheese - all day breakfast sandwich with bacon, sausage, and avocado - all day breakfast sandwich with bacon & sausage - koko loko smoothie - kids meal with pb&banana sandwich, bananas and strawberries, and vanilla coconut milk. I love supporting this small business! I'm also guilty of ordering from here twice in one day!

Gina M.

Yelp
Fantastic people working there! I will go back often. The food is great and the service is wonderful!
google avatar

Gary K.

Yelp
I asked for the Breakfast sammich with egg, cheese, bacon and sausage...only took a few minutesto cook fresh. This sandwich was fantastic. all the ingredients were cooked perfectly. the sausage was juicy, the bacon wasnt soft, nor too crispy ( just the way i like it). and a good Sharp cheddar melted on the egg. now i just gotta figure out where they get these larger than normal size english muffins that held this thing together. GOOD JOB, i will be back. Note. im unable to post a pic of the sammich as i devoured it too quickly
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
The ABSOLUTE BEST thing ever!!! Their Açaí Bowls are amazing!!! I get mine with peanut butter, coconut chips, strawberries, granola and honey drizzle! Definitely go check them out!!!
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
There's not very many places in Gresham that offer acai bowls. When I learned that The Krazy Kokonut existed, I'd been craving an acai bowl til I could get my hands on it. It's a little kiosk with a walk-up window located in the parking lot of the Kia dealership. There's a few parking spots designated for it, but there's spots a-plenty. They also sell sandwiches, skewers, and smoothies. I got a grilled cheese sandwich and added bacon and avocado. Got The Original acai bowl with granola, bananas, and strawberries. It was delish! They're kind of on the pricier side for some of their menu items, but I was thoroughly pleased with what I ordered.
google avatar

Chelsea W.

Yelp
Only place with açaí bowls east of Portland! And they are good!! Half and full size. They have fresh fruit smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, grilled cheese, chicken skewer meals and dole whip non dairy soft serve ice cream!!
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
Can't say enough about this place, we love the Açaí bowls and the kids love the breakfast sandwiches! Super friendly folks makes it all the better!!
google avatar

Erin P.

Yelp
These were very good and fresh açaí bowls, took a little extra work to find the food cart but it was worth the drive. The frozen coconut is unlike anything else I've had, best toppings!
google avatar

Karina G.

Yelp
I had their food more than once. I do think their dishes are good. And it's convenient to have another option for food besides subway..so that's the reason for the star. Don't bother getting an espresso here. It sure its awful. I had it a few times and it's just not worth your money. Also normally the kid (it seems like it's the kid of the owner)he takes your order, and he lacks customer service as well as he doesn't put the order right. I had order a simple latte no flavor or nothing to it, just milk and shots of espresso. What I got was some king of americano or plain house cofee with ice cubes. I asked if that was my latte and she (the owner gave him and me a nasty look), less than 5 seconds later she gave me "my fixed latte" and it was like she just poured a splash of milk...this was just awful, coffee, awful service. Just plain bad. I paid $6.00 for a cup of house cofee with a splash of milk ...really? On top of that I agree with another posted review. Their business hours are very inconsistent, it's like they show up whenever they have nothing else to do. So this review it's just IF you happen to find them open.

Keeley M.

Yelp
I love this place! Gresham needed a healthy acai bowl restaurant and The Krazy Kokonut delivered! You can tell the ingredients are fresh and they put care in all of their food. If you aren't in the mood for a smoothie or acai bowl definitely try out one of their coffees or Krazy combos! Everything tastes great and I feel good knowing they use the best ingredients.
google avatar

Miguel S.

Yelp
AÇAÍ bowl is legit! I'm from the Bay Area and I've tried them in Hawaii as well. Their açaí bowl definitely is one of the best ones I've ever had. Won't disappoint, definitely a must try if you're in Portland area!

Retail R.

Yelp
Love this place. Unfortunately today I ordered ahead over the phone from the menu online. I had my sister pick up the order. Online it states the açaí bowls are $12. However when she picked them up they where $14. Not a big deal but I ordered 4 of them. I called and they refused to honor the price online, on there own menu, on there own website. Really poor customer service. If you have to adjust the price, as I know with shortages and things you may have to. Update the menus online. And if you fail to do so, do what is right for your customers and honor it.
google avatar

Curtis J.

Yelp
The only food cart in the outlet shopping center. The only food cart in troutdale really. Good service and a good mix of fresh warm and cold bites. Drinks and açaí bowls. Love this place
google avatar

Destiny S.

Yelp
Do you want a delicious açaí bowl unmatched by any other? Go HERE! So many options and flavors that make my heart sing! I highly recommend the pb w/cinnamon and chia. Different size options to match your hunger! She also has chicken skewers w/ veggies, breakfast sandwiches, and the best blended chai in town ugh I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!
google avatar

Omar W.

Yelp
Breakfast sandwiches are delicious and the swirl Dole whip is money. Will have to try a acai bowl next time!
google avatar

Ricki R.

Yelp
Açaí Bowls are amazing!!! Great and fast service!! The perfect food cart In Gresham! 10 out of 5 stars!
google avatar

Hayley B.

Yelp
Love, love, love. The owner is such a sweet lady and always has a smile on her face when I visit the cart. I've tried a few different options here and they're all super yummy and never disappoint. The açaí bowls are by far my favorite tho! Topped with all the fresh, delicious toppings and super satisfying and it's a guilt free food item. So, win, win! If you haven't been, I highly recommend you give them a try!

Mikayla M.

Yelp
Koko Loko smoothie was amazing! I love the variety of dairy-free options. Fast and friendly service.
google avatar

Cort H.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME! The Acai Bowls are my favorite. Literally everything there has some sort of healthy spin! Pretty much the only food cart aroundm i live in Downtown Portland & will make the drive anytime! Plus the staff is always super friendly.

Dips S.

Yelp
This is by far the best food we had during our 2019 Memorial Day weekend trip to Columbia River Gorge. I tried the Krazy combo with chicken skewers and grilled veggies and was blown away! The skewers were so full of flavor and had just the right hint of coconut. Loved their bean and mozzarella salad too... just wish it was served warm and not cold. They have plenty of healthy options to choose from, including smoothies and açaí bowls. Don't miss out on this gem!

Seneca L.

Yelp
Everything on the menu is amazing and good quality! There's a variety of foods and drinks to choose from for any meal of the day. Located in the perfect spot for grabbing a bite to eat and shopping at the outlets. Definitely my go-to for something healthy and delicious!

Anna C.

Yelp
Amazing coffee!! Just the right balance of coffee and sweetness! Tons of food options too & dole whip :). Staff is super friendly too!
