I like the lab, I really do... I hate the seating and parking here. I often times will spend 4+ hours in a coffee shop and that's not convenient here. The seating leaves a lot to be desired. The coffee is fantastic, it really is good. The staff is friendly, and there is good natural light. I just hate the seating here. S.O Cappuccino, pour over.

Cutest little coffee spot. We stopped in for a quick coffee and ended up staying longer than planned because the food looked yummy! Cozy vibes, friendly service, and great coffee. We’ll definitely be back. The the barista working was sweet & helped me pick my coffee which was delicious. A Tampa hidden gem.

The only disadvantage is du to Shortage of stuff the service slow specially during weekends and the kitchen is open to the main area the place can get kitchen smells and smoke easily.. not recommended for those who have plans after

The girls who work here are just the sweetest ever!!!!! I asked her about the matcha and she was so helpful and nice, when I ordered it she even told me “if you need me to add more matcha or anything else please let me know!” And it was delicious! Coffee was great too. Overall such a fun cafe with such good customer service.

Really cute spot! Not a ton of parking but I can understand the hype. The staff were super nice and the coffee beans were really good. I would recommend getting an extra shot in your latte but other than that, no complaints! Bagel sandwich was really, really good!! We will be back for sure.

Went for the first time on a Sunday morning and for how packed it was they kept the line moving quickly and all the staff were very polite. The atmosphere is very hip, fun, and laid back. I had an amazing drip coffee and bought a bag of beans shortly after sipping some of it down. After brewing them for the first time this morning I can't wait to grind some up again this afternoon. A great place I will definitely be coming back to.

AMELIA walked me through the coffee menu and suggested the SPRODA, a coffee blend with Liquid Death sparkling water. A great find, and it put a sparkle in my day. The guava cheese toast sounds like a great twist on Tampa-Cuban food culture. Great ambiance here with holiday eggnog and doggie treats available. The indoor seating includes accessible low top table and some high tops. The outdoor fresh air seating includes picnic tables and table and moveable chairs, all umbrella-covered, some on pavers, some on mulch. I walked over to the coffee roasting area, and got a good look at the roaster, which seems to be on holiday break today. Great service! Great offerings!

Fantastic coffee shop! They were roasting on site today and their cold brew had the loveliest tasting notes. Staff were great and lots of places to sit and hang!

5 Stars for seriously good coffee and a breakfast bagel sandwich that impresses! First thing I noticed is how friendly the staff is here. No pretentious or bored folks behind the counter. They helped me decide on the single origin espresso with my cortado and it was fantastic. I got one iced and then another hot one for the road. My girl, Sky, told me I couldn't miss out on the breakfast bagel sandwich with Asiago bagel and she was not overhyping it. It's decadent and exactly what I needed after a spin class! The bagels are made in-house and I wish I'd bought more to take home! Overall, a new favorite when I'm in Tampa!

Stopped by The Lab Coffee for a quick breakfast and tried their egg and cheese bagels (no meat) along with an iced matcha with ube and café con leche syrup, and an iced latte with ube. The matcha drink was a bit too sweet for our taste but that's probably on us for picking 2 sweet syrups The iced latte, though, was excellent! You can tell they use good espresso, and the ube had a nice hint of vanilla - perfect for ube lovers. The bagels were tasty, with good options like, Asiago, and jalapeño cheddar, but we felt they were a little overpriced. We asked for no meat, and it didn't bring the price down. We paid close to $40 for two bagels and two drinks, so it's definitely not a budget stop. Ambience was chill, laid-back, and had a cool industrial vibe. Overall, we'd give it a 7.5/10 and we feel it's worth giving a try if you're in the area.

Stopped by The Lab Coffee in Tampa and it was a solid experience all around. I tried the iced matcha latte with café con leche and ube syrup (4/5)--creative and refreshing. Also had the iced latte with ube syrup and whole milk (4/5)--smooth and subtly sweet. Food-wise, the asiago bagel with Monterey Jack cheese, chipotle mayo, and egg was a great combo (4/5). The jalapeño cheddar version had a nice kick, though slightly less balanced for my taste (3.8/5). Bagels were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside--exactly how they should be.

This is our favorite coffee shop in Tampa! The coffee is delicious. I love that they use their own freshly ground beans (which we also use at home and love). The space is cute/quaint and have a decent amount of seating if you're looking to work there/study and a little patio area as well. Service is always great.

Rise and shine! I was there around 8am and the joint was jumping! It was amped-buzzy-as caffeinated as its menu. Yeah, there's a gym next door... yeah, most of the clientele is young... yeah, it was the pre-work crowd... and really busy... so all of that contributes to the "up and at 'em" vibe. But it's also the staff, they're going hard and happy. The location is also part of it. It's in a rejuvenated area of town. It's go-go in the mo-mo (morning).., and if you're dragging, you'll leave here wagging. There's a full menu here. I meant to get Cuban toast but for some reason, ordered an Asiago jalapeño bagel. The bagel was good-it brought the heat. The hot chai tea latte was pretty... but not my favorite. It seemed a little watery to me, but that's just my taste. No matter, there are lots of other things to try. And I will definitely be back. I want to sample more of the menu-and soak up more of that productive high energy feel. I was ready to conquer when I left! You can park in the few spaces out front-and I heard one of the staffers say you can also park in the gravel lot, on the west side of the gym next door. Happy days!

Come here if you love cold brew!! They had two brew options with different flavor undertones, which told me everything I need to know- they take their cold brew seriously! It was fairly priced and had a loyalty program based on visit counts. Service was so quick and I loved the darker pirate decor. Definitely one of the best options that i've tried in Tampa so far and will absolutely be coming back!

Best freshest coffee in all of tampa.. so smooth and haven't had anything better. The breakfast bagel with sausage egg and cheese was so hot, fresh and the bread was soft and chewy/doughy but also crunchy where it needed to be. Was extremely satisfied.

Said it opened at 7, we walked up at 7:30 with the worker (who i think was the owner) just chilling in her car out front. Location is terribly inconvenient for slow service. Not even a good cafe to chat or work in. This place has no perks, just a waste of time.

Finally was able to try The Lab and I am so glad I did! I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and it was phenomenal. I feel like it was fairly priced, given how big portion were. The bagel was full of flavor and could honestly be shared by two people. All the baristas we encountered were super friendly and helpful! This would be a great place to hangout if you WFH or to do schoolwork. Couldn't recommend this place enough and can't wait to go back!

Been coming here for years and it's still an amazing place. I pick up the different variety of beans so I can have my drip at home. Great for pour overs or a French press. Service and ambience is great. I can study or do some work or just have a meeting and relax. Going to miss this place when I move.

Long line on a Saturday morning but line and service were both very quick. Limited seating inside for small groups (2-4 per table) and picnic tables out back. Seating seemed to turn over easily. Pour over coffee was great!! I got it black and it had really nice flavors on its own. The eggs in the pressed Cuban were a little rubbery but I would be interested to try their other food offerings.

I absolutely LOVE this coffee shop! If you are looking for amazing coffee in the area - this is where you will find it. I have been here several times and each time it's a great experience. Everything I have tried so far has been lovely. The customer service here is solid and helpful as well. I have been trying out locally roasted beans for my at home espresso set up and the coffee beans here are perfection. I am definitely a returning customer for as long as I will be in Tampa because their espresso beans are just spectacular!

I've been coming to The Lab fairly regularly for the last few weeks. Obsessively, might be a better word than "regularly." Their coffee syrups are entirely made in house, their bagels are hand-rolled, and their breakfast sandwiches are phenomenal. The baristas are sooooo friendly, and the different special flavors they offer are unique and delicious. This week, I've been getting a strawberry cappuccino! Amazing!

Great staff, amazing coffee, inviting atmosphere.. I visit from time to time it's always a pleasure to go in there. Meeting new people and the best part is they invite your fur babies to come along

Love love loveeee The Lab!!! Have been here a couple times and have always had an amazing experience. One thing about this coffee shop is that it is always PACKED. Every time I have been here the line has been close to out the door. Their breakfast options are amazing. My favorite is the sauce they put on their bagels! Their coffee is great as well, I just wish they would come out with sugar free flavors. I always opt for a cold brew with almond milk and I will sweeten with Splenda :)) I will def be back.

We found this place on Yelp and we couldn't wait to try it based on the reviews and menu. It's tucked away in a neighborhood with large office buildings and apartment buildings, right next to a CrossFit studio so not a typical place to find a coffee shop! Not much ambience but the coffee is great- I had the lavender latte which was delicious along with the bacon and egg breakfast bagel, also delicious. Quick service and great vibes. I definitely recommend it!

Great spot to grab a coffee - the art on the walls is really cool and definitely a conversation starter. Service was fast and friendly, and the coffee itself was fantastic. We also ordered breakfast bagel sandwiches - great portion sizes, one of these could be shared and still fill you up. They're packed with flavor, one of the top 3 best bagel breakfast sandwiches I've had in Tampa.

Checked this spot out for an iced matcha latte and it did not disappoint! Perfectly delicious! It was busy but service was excellent. Inside and outside seating available. They have a few spot outside but mostly street parking.

Tried out the iced vanilla matcha latte and was honestly disappointed. There wasn't much vanilla flavor to it and I found that it lacked sweetness. I've always been pretty pleased with other things I've ordered, so this was a bit of a let down since I've really been wanting to try out their matcha. Also found that there was a lot of settling of the matcha powder, which I understand is inevitable, but seemed like it wasn't mixed that much.

Typical coffee bar but there are some homeless like men that wipe down the tables while you are sitting there. I was not a fan of them wiping down my food area while I sat there - especially because it was unclear if he worked there or not. It is difficult to figure out who works here and who is just hanging around sometimes. Pricing for all menu items is typical. Outdoor seating and WiFi make it a great option to work!

Came to The Lab Tampa for breakfast last weekend and it did not disappoint. Service was quick, attentive and friendly. The guy behind the counter was quick to answer any questions we had as a new customer. The ambiance was fun and hip. I also didn't mind them playing the new Taylor Swift album, that was a plus. My oat milk latte was great and my breakfast bagel sandwich was so yummy and satisfying. The jalapeño cheddar bagel is a must! Overall, I'll be back and highly recommend. Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazing breakfast burritos and great service! It does get busy but the line always seems to move fast. Definitely one of my fav casual breakfast/coffee stops in Seminole Heights.

Came in on a Saturday around 10-10:30am with my daughter & cousin. Fyi - parking can be a situation depending on time. I tried their Cuban - Bagel - Latte & Chai Tea. They have outside seating area. Pet friendly!

Nice trendy shop with great coffee and attentive customer service. Came in for breakfast one morning. My wife had the bagel sandwich with a cappuccino and I had the breakfast burrito with a drip coffee. My only complaint is that they gave my wife a pretty small cup for the dine in cappuccino. Would come here again if I lived in the area.

Firstly, I asked for a super hot latte and it was actually super hot! You wouldn't believe how many other places just don't listen. Thank you!!! Secondly, the bagel sandwich was awesome. I'd eat it every morning if I could. The staff is super chill and the vibes are very Portland-esque and cool. Overall a super solid coffee spot.

I found the lab on my way to the airport and it was a hidden gem! The burrito and bagel sandwich were freshly made and came with a salsa that was very flavorful. It's tough to find coffee shops that have great coffee as well as food but the lab nailed it! The barista was welcoming and was sure to tell us she was able to answer any questions since it was our first time visiting. They had a small coffee bar and high top seating and some outdoor tables as well.

I came here on Sunday morning and enjoyed my visit. We got there around 10, and by the time we were leaving around 12, there was quite a long line! It's a cute little spot with very friendly service. I got a matcha latte with oat milk. I forgot to ask if it was sweetened already. It tasted like it could be, or maybe it was just the oat milk. It was almost too sweet for me, but I liked it either way. I was very surprised to see they had some vegan baked goods! I was not expecting to get a treat but then I had to try their vegan matcha cookie which I was really impressed with. They also had a vegan chai cake and vegan cinnamon rolls which I was so happy to see. I'll definitely be back to try something else!

This place reminds me of my local coffee spot Vigilante. The coffee is medium roast Colombian blend. Espresso shots that we enjoyed were perfectly pulled. Great for remote work and good amount of seating. Open aired which is also nice and there's a very cool gym next door as well that caught my eye. If you want some very high quality coffee with chill vibes you'll enjoy this place very much .

Great coffee, great food....overall a great experience. My wife couldn't stop talking about the bagel and how good it was. The staff was super nice and helpful. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Visiting Tampa from out of town and had such a good experience at The Lab. Staff was very friendly and the coffee was phenomenal. My girlfriend and I got a strawberry latte and a blueberry latte.. unreal. Never have experienced flavor like that. No artificials, all natural blueberries and strawberries blended into a simple syrup. The staff even gave me a free shot of blueberry after I enjoyed my girlfriends strawberry so much haha. We also bought a bag of Ethiopian beans to take home since they are also roasters. Only $14 for the bag, which is a great price compared to most. Living in California, we have the luxury of many amazing coffee shops, so I honestly wasn't expecting much from anywhere else, but The Lab is up there with the best!

Hands down my top 3 coffee spot in Tampa! Roasted in house and they offer a few options to choose from each day The service is very neighborly and friendly They have a rewards system which is great if you're a regular Free WiFi and comfortable, social seating type atmosphere being about 1/2 mile from UTampa Breakfast sandwich and muffins are A1!!

Absolutely unbelievably good!!! I've been here 2 days in a row and it's so good that i will be going tomorrow as well. The bagels and biscuits are made from scratch and they may be the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. I keep forgetting to take pictures before eating. I've had a latte and an iced flat they were amazing!!! Such a great coffee and breakfast gem!!!! The service is fast and the employees are always very nice. It's not super loud so it would be a good spot to do some computer work!

Don't walk here run if you're looking for amazing coffee and fantastic food! We loved our lattes and in fact, I'm currently craving it to include the delicious and fresh food. If I'm not mistaken, the bagels and pastries are freshly made as well as the ingredients for the breakfast burritos to include the salsa. The customer service was also phenomenal. I can't wait to go back again!

We were going through the neighborhood & decided to try a new coffee place. The Lab is truly a neighborhood coffee hangout. It's in an unassuming building on a side street. Inside on one side is the coffee shop with warehouse/garage seating. On the other side is a room for roasting. I ordered a Cafe Con Leche Latte, & it was decent. There wasn't much flavor with the latte, but the coffee tasted good on its own. I'm sure if I lived near this shop I'd pay a visit again.

Great iced latte. Friendly service. Chill place! The ceiling could use a paint job, but other than that it was a great experience complete with a skeleton customer, quick and efficient baristas and good Saturday vibes. I had an iced latte with a little caramel in it. All their syrups are made in-house with cane sugar. My husband had an iced chai latte. Both were creamy and delicious. Lots of people hanging out or doing work. Populate place to stop by in Tampa. We'll be back!

Cool place, a little tucked away, dark and not a big place, but good coffee. Hours until 2 pm and plenty of parking around.

This is my new coffee spot, everything was delicious. When we first entered there was a line but it went by quick. They have a wide variety of coffee options, I ordered the cold brew with cafe con leche (condensed milk). Adding condensed milk to coffee seems like an obvious addition but I never thought of it until now. In addition I got the hangover burrito which was one the best breakfast burritos I've ever ordered. They mastered the art of breakfast burritos. My only con is that at certain times of the day it can get crowded which is justified because The Lab is soo good, but it makes finding parking difficult. So I recommend coming during the week or early on the weekend.

Loved my first experience here. The coffee was hot and delicious and had a sweet foam design atop. We got 3 bagel sandwiches and were all very satisfied. The bagel was fresh and toasty. The bacon was crispy and delicious and the wait was under 15 minutes for our food. The line was long but the customer service was spot on, they took my order with attention to the details and even brought it out to me as I stumbled with my coffee and kid. That was the cherry on top of the experience. A small gesture that means a lot, I will definitely make this a regular place to visit now.

I am all about supporting a local coffee shop. I happened upon this after looking at Yelp to see what was within the area of where I was staying. I was so happy to find this spot. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. They made you feel at home. The coffee was incredible. I had a cafe con leche, wasn't sure what to expect since it wasn't a cuban restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised. The guava breakfast toast was absolutely incredible. Nothing like I've had before, way better than a pastellito. We also had the pressed cuban breakfast sandwich, which was super tasty. Not only was I impressed by the coffee but the food was scrumptious too, along with the wonderful service from the most friendly staff. Great local spot, beats those chain coffee spots any day!

(From March 2022) I should've reviewed this the moment after I left this place yet it slipped my mind. Better late than never though. It was quite a walking distance here from my hotel but definitely worth the trek here as it's one of the best coffee shops in Tampa. Tucked in the North Hyde Park area, it's a local favorite for coffee and breakfast eats. Got my latte and paired it with the bacon/egg/cheese cuban sandwhich; one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Latte was great as well, nice consistency. Made for a great breakfast reward for the long walk from downtown to here. They have numerous coffee brew styles and they sell their coffee beans and merchandise. With the South Florida being heavily Cuban influenced, coffee is something they take a lot of pride in as they should. The Baristas were helpful and are always on the move either making drinks, serving food, or wiping tables. No doubt you should do this over Starbucks any and everytime!

I ordered the breakfast bagel sandwich which was phenomenal! Everything you could want in a breakfast sandwich. Now, the reason I came was because I read a comment that said "best matcha latte". Unfortunately, I'm sorry to be harsh but the matcha latte was abysmal. It was pale green culinary grade matcha milk, if you drink quality matcha you know exactly what I'm talking about. To be fair, this is a coffee shop so I don't expect them to have good matcha. Otherwise, the shop is very inviting, lots of seating to work and quite a few breakfast options.

The vibe of this place is almost as good as its coffee. Always come here when I'm in town.

Great place for coffee and breakfast food. Service was excellent and quick. The cost is high and the quality of the food is nothing exceptional. Everything tasted great. The ambiance was casual and we were very happy that dogs are welcome. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is mainly on the street but there are a few spots dedicated to the location. I ordered an americano and the Cuban breakfast sandwich, was pleased with both. My wife had the bagel breakfast sandwich and matcha latte which she felt was a bit too sweet but otherwise nice.
