I toured The Lafayette on October 12, 2025. My tour was conducted by Rina, who was exceptionally thorough and experienced, guiding me through all the amenities and available units with great passion. Sasha also helped guiding me through the necessary application processes.
While I did not end up leasing at this lovely apartment community, I consider it to be the best in the neighborhood and would highly recommend anyone looking for a new luxury apartment home to give The Lafayette serious consideration.
At the time of writing, the apartment is offering a tremendous incentive of 8 weeks free rent plus a $2,000 look-and-lease special, which is essentially 10 weeks free. This package will significantly reduce the effective base rent, making the property extremely competitive compared to others in the area.
Here are the highlights of my tour:
Pros: Unmatched Gym, Stunning Design, and Wired Internet
- Elite Fitness Center: This is, without a doubt, the best apartment gyms I have ever seen. It is incredibly well-equipped, featuring a full squat rack with an Olympic lifting platform, free weights, kettlebells, medicine balls, jumping boxes, air bikes, a sand bag, an unpowered treadmill, mountain climbers, and cable machines with lovely brown upholstery. This facility will make any active person happy.
- Unique Interior Design & Ambiance: I absolutely adore the entire apartment's interior design, especially in one of the clubhouses, which features a French coffee shop-like interior with small round tables and half-circle sofas.
- Intimate Outdoor Spaces: Unlike properties with sprawling, shared courtyards, The Lafayette offers multiple smaller-sized public patios perfect for intimate small gatherings. There is also a wonderful community garden where residents can pick herbs.
- Premium Unit Finishes: Units feature wall-to-wall hard flooring and stainless steel appliances with gas stoves.
- Top-Floor Appliance Package: The penthouse-level units also offer an upgraded package, including a 5-burner gas stove with a built-in griddle, a double-door fridge, and a 3-layer dishwasher.
- Noise Insulation and Views: The apartment uses double-pane windows. I hardly noticed any significant airplane noise while touring the units. Apartments facing north enjoy an unblocked view onto the previously-golf-field site, a unique advantage in the area.
- Work-From-Home Support: There are multiple co-working spaces featuring 8+ individual pods available for privacy during conference calls or focused work.
- Convenient Connectivity Choice: Residents have a choice between AT&T and Comcast for internet. The necessary equipment from both providers was pre-wired for convenience, requiring only service activation.
- Secure Package Handling: The property has an indoor mail room with numerous USPS lock boxes, an access-controlled package room, a double glass door commercial fridge for perishable packages, and an Amazon locker in the garage.
- Local Mobility: While the neighborhood itself isn't strictly walkable, the apartment provides rentable electric scooter stations for quick errands.
Cons:
- Parking Fees & Tiers: Parking comes at an extra cost and is tiered with three choices: sliding spot, fixed spot, and a higher-premium EV charging spot.
- Small Closets: The closets in the apartments are on the small side. For individuals with a large wardrobe or who require extensive pole space, this could be a frustrating problem.
- Latch System Latency: Coming from a Latch community, needing to interact with the Latch system (via phone app) every time before pressing an elevator button could be frustrating due to the potential for connectivity latency delays.
