According to the bartender, The Landing will be closing soon, as its parent company Eagle Rock Brewery closed in June.
The Landing is a tiny, unique little spot on San Fernando. They have rotating beers and ciders, as well as a short wine list. There are coolers of cans/bottles to drink in-house or take home. They have bottles of wine for sale to take home as well, and also tables of small gifts like preserves, home décor items, crocheted beanies.
The walls feature whimsical-print wallpaper or colourful abstract painting over cement blocks, giving one the feeling of being in a children's school library. Metal chairs and barstools and wooden benches lend an industrial vibe (and will give you a sore ass after sitting for a couple rounds of drinks). Children are allowed, and while it was mostly quiet whilst we were there, one loud and inconsiderate group could easily take over the whole space with noise. The bartender was friendly and efficient.
Be sure to NOT park in the convenience store lot - I dunno if you'd get yelled at or towed, but there's a sign on the Landing's door asking you not to park there. There is plenty of free and safe parking a block away down Andover/Broadway.
It's a shame they are closing - there are so few spots in L.A. to find an unusual local gift, plus try a new brew.
