The Landing Hotel Pittsburgh

This was so much nicer than the stars it earns on various sites. We were really impressed with the spaciousness, cleanliness, and comfort of the beds. The room was great. Handy to local restaurants and other sites. Immediately next to the stadium. Literally. Location also handy to the highway (as we were trekking across multiple states over the holidays). I would have given it 4 stars if the smoking section wasn’t the entire casino…plus ALL the restaurants were located within the casino’s smoking section. Not terribly conducive to dining on location if you’re a non-smoker. But this was the only downside so take that as you will. Perhaps you’ll read this and think “wow then, for me and my other fellow humans who don’t mind the smell of smoke, this would be 5 stars!” So…to each their own:) Happy trails!

It's the people working at the hotel that made it an excellent experience for me and my family. We booked several rooms to make it a family vacation. The rooms were great too... The staff were wonderful, helpful and kind to my elderly father. There was one person working at the front desk (her name was Shamieka) who was especially nice. When I checked in before my father arrived - I mentioned that he was a veteran. When I walked through the lobby to help my dad up to his room - Shamieka greeted him by name and thanked him for his service. That meant so much to him (and to me). I can't say enough good things about all of the staff (and most especially Shamieka)... Thank you all for a wonderful family vacation at your hotel and casino :-) Laurie Skutch

Hotel is great staff was awesome but the morning breakfast that they serve is the most terrible thing I've ever. For the amount of money to somebody pays to stay at that hotel. You would think they would feed you something better. Then a breakfast that tastes like it came from the Red Roof Inn or Best Western. There no other places to go or restaurants for breakfast in the morning nearby. I suggest not wasting the time to walk down in the morning

We would definitely stay here again. It was a great location. We went to the Wheelhouse for dinner and the food was reasonably priced and good. The casino was a smoking facility which was our only negative. But we don’t really gamble. Only stayed there for our guest turning 21. Room was very clean. Bed was comfy and staff was very professional.The free breakfast buffet was a definite perk! Ubering the city was the best travel option and affordable.Thank You Pittsburgh!!!! A town definitely worth checking out!

I planned a surprise 30th anniversary trip for my husband, and staying at The Landing Hotel made it absolutely unforgettable. We’re from six hours away and had no idea what to do around Pittsburgh, but Michelle at the front desk was truly a lifesaver. Since I couldn’t go into the Casino since people can smoke in there, she helped us with great suggestions for things to do around the hotel and even assisted with booking our Gateway Clipper tour and told us about seeing the Christmas lights Downtown, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Every time Michelle saw us during our stay, she smiled and wished us a Happy Anniversary, she is such a sweet young girl and genuinely made us feel special and seen. Her kindness added so much to our stay. We also went to the Steelers game, and coming back to such a welcoming hotel made the trip even better, all the front desk staff at night are very friendly and polite. The breakfast was really good, I would recommend the pastries, and the view of the stadium from our room was absolutely beautiful, especially at night. Between the warm hospitality, convenient location, and amazing staff, this trip was one to remember.

Right across the street from stadium. Its a 15 minute walk from hotel room to seat at stadium. Very clean and professional staff, front desk at check-in was delightful. Free breakfast and connected to the casino which is very nice as well. Valets, bartenders, dealers, are all first class. Well worth the money. You definitely get the first class treatment here in Pittsburgh!

WAY overpriced on the weekends for a regular hotel room! Absolutely ridiculous how much they jack the rates on Saturday and Sunday. It's a nice place, don't get me wrong. But definitely not $340 a night nice. The girl at the front desk we checked in with was also not the kindest person in the world, and almost acted as if doing her job and checking us in was a bother to her. Will I say here again? Only ever during the week, and even then, I'll be looking at the prices long before considering it. Checkout was as any other hotel, walked up and handed the room keys over. Breakfast seemed nice, but again, nothing to write home about after paying $340 for literally nothing but a basic room with one king bed... It's also basically impossible to navigate the property once you are in the hotel. If you have anything on you, like bags for your room, you have to walk probably a good half a mile up and down stairs to even get back and forth from the hotel to the parking garage. If you're just trying to get into the casino, there's a door that leads right into the casino of course, but if you want to get to your car, it's a half mile walk at least. It's a casino, they don't want you to leave if they can help it... The bars are nice in the casino, and that will probably be what brings me back honestly....

From the moment we stepped into The Landing hotel it was an amazing experience. All of the staff were amazing. The 2 hostesses were the sweetest. So welcoming and just fun to talk to. As we were checking in, I mentioned it was my son’s 21st birthday celebration. The next time we passed the desk, one of the hostesses, Shamieka, was there and ran out with a little gift bag for him. I asked if I could take a picture, and she said, “Sure! But make sure you get one with Emily also!” On our way back from the casino, Emily was there and we snagged a photo with her. We decided to do the breakfast buffet before heading out the next morning. My son’s gluten is restricted in his diet. There was a sign stating there were gluten free pastries upon request. We asked about them and after about 10-20 minutes, they brought out 3 small plastic to go containers with a nice, warm banana nut muffin and chocolate chip scone in each. My son is very picky and said they were delicious. Not to mention there were a couple of times Shamieka would see us at the bar or somewhere and spread the word that it was our son’s birthday! It was a truly phenomenal experience and we will definitely be back. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, with complimentary valet parking. The room was also very nice and clean, with an amazing view of the water.

We stayed at the Landing Hotel for my brother's wedding. We had a couple of suites during the day for the groomsmen and bridesmaids to get ready. The rooms are pretty standard, but everything was clean and pretty well maintained. The hotel itself has nice access to the casino (obviously), the north shore, PNC Park, and acrisure stadium.

The room was amazing. Comfy bed, modern decor, beautiful bathroom. The wheelhouse restaurant is average at best, but the happy hour ain't bad. We were a bit disappointed that there was nothing open late at the casino to get food.

We stayed on the 7th floor for two nights. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a hair tie on the floor and a big chocolate crumb that weren't ours BUT otherwise it was clean. The free breakfast was great! Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The free valet is such a great feature! The gym isn't huge but it has everything you need. Unfortunately the first floor where the gym is does have a cigarette smell but being next to the casino, not exactly unexpected. Great stay, thank you!

Stayed at Hotel for a conference. Room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. Valet parking was great. Check in was fast and easy. Great location. Downfall was the restaurants. Breakfast was no better than a free Hampton Inn offering-There was only one casual restaurant open on a Tuesday night and the food was pure Awful- will stay here again but will go off premise to eat.

Great location, free valet parking and friendly staff. I attended a conference here and stayed for three nights. When I checked in, the room was clean and comfortable. Room has a mini fridge, but no coffee machine or microwave, although I travel on business a lot and find that many hotels don't have microwaves anymore. Breakfast buffet was not too bad and staff in the breakfast area kept it very clean and the food on the buffet was refilled quickly. There is a separate entrance for hotel guests so you don't have to walk through the casino. I'd stay here again.

I spent one night here midweek in early June 2024. Hotel has many positives including the following: Free valet parking Entrance to the hotel is separate from the casino Free breakfast (eggs, potatoes, French toast, turkey sausage) Clean room If you want to gamble, you don't have to go outside either Exercise room is fairly equipped with different equipment options Room overall would be on par with a Hampton Inn. It was clean and comfortable but nothing over the top. There weren't a ton of amenities either. If the price was right I would stay here but there are plenty of downtown options available that are equal or better.

They Are Racist. With the exception of the girl with the colored hair at the counter in valet. We're from California and from the first night we stepped in here. We was treated like trash. Especially the white guy that works at night with the scraggly long ponytail. We're both ill with a condition that has no cure. Lupus. We're suppose to stay stress free BUT not here. This has been one of the worst Hotel stays ever. The supervisor Connie Straub is Less than accommodating and professional. If you're Black I suggest you Look somewhere else. Downgrading our room for no reason we been here 7 days. I hope you don't encounter Mrs. Karen

Stayed here after a work event and it is a nice new Hotel. The staff were friendly. Although the bed was very uncomfortable. The following morning, we had the complimentary breakfast which was not good at all. There are definitely improvements to make this a better stay at the hotel.

Went for a holiday party with work. It was a decent hotel and very visually pleasing but I was unimpressed with the quality of the beds and pillows and blankets. One thing I look forward to is a comfy hotel bed! There was also no mini fun travel Size things to take with you like shampoo and stuff. My back hurt when I woke up plus the walk to the casino is not too far but it's certainly not close. When I got back to the casino once I was told I was being turned away for public intoxication and I had to explain to the security guard my feet hurt from all the walking and new shoes LOL they then let me in. I would stay here again but I would probably rather save $$ and just take an Uber home.

Super new. Hope they get their act together. Pros: Great location. Beautiful views. Access to casino and restaurants. Clean (because it's new!). Comfortable rooms. Cons: 1. AC in the room will not go below 68. I'm a menopausal woman, that doesn't work. Called front desk, they called maintenance, never showed. Then I was told a supervisor was coming up. He never showed. Got another call, from said supervisor and was told he wasn't coming and the AC will not go below 68. 2. Additionally, the WiFi is really crappy. I have not been able to share or receive photos or files since I got here. I'm here for a business meeting. I would not recommend using this facility for business. Good WiFi is a must. 3. There is a valet button on the phone in the room. I called to get my car and was told I have to come to the valet to request my car. The valet button, with the picture of a car, is only if I need help with my bags. Get it together. Can't add photos, I'm in the hotel right now and they won't load. Just dropped it from three to two stars.

I am a non-smoker but did frequent the casino during my trip last weekend for the Steelers game. The casino smeels so bad of cigarettes that the hotel decided to charge me $350 because they have a machine that says I smoked in the room. One- I dont smoke. Two- I didnt smoke in the room. They say the machine picks up the smoke in the room and alerts them. How is it picking up smoke if I didnt smoke in the room?? They need to figure this out...as many people are complaining about this. They are giving me the run around right now and say a Manager is busy but will reach out. I was waiting for this...sitting in the lobby the morning we were leaving, there were multiple people complaining about the charges. Hotel would do nothing. How can they screw people over like this but have a stinky casino attached to the hotel? SCAM. I will delete the review when I get my money back. I did nothing wrong....

I stayed at this hotel for the past two nights as part of a wedding block. The rooms were spacious and clean. I especially like the automatic light in the bathroom because it made it easy to see when it was dark. The desk staff was courteous and helpful as well. I saw that they are planning on adding a virtual marketplace which I assume is like a convince store and I think that would be a great idea because as of now there was no option to buy toiletries or snacks in the lobby.

As expressed in previous comments this hotel is visually appealing. However there were are several short falls that needed improvements during my stay: - No microwaves in room or in lobby. - No coffee machine in room - Only one round of toilet paper. You are able to call for house keeping but there should already be at least one spare in the bathroom. - NO maid service. I am very capable of cleaning and tidying up after myself and always tip the maid service, but there is none. The price you pay does not match the amenities available during the stay. - Room service starts at 4pm. Suggestion: Earlier room service. Room service menu can also be improved to cover some more basics like chicken fingers, Caesar salad and a few more soup options besides only Italian wedding soup. - There was a heavy smoke smell in my room. I do not mind being around smoking (I personally do not smoke) but this was an intense odor in my room that made my room smell like the center of the casino. The experience felt like a soft opening which would be fine if it was not so expensive. Another option: My brother stayed at the Hyatt Place which is less expensive and a better experience. However, If you are coming to gamble solely this is likely a great option for you as room amenities may not be priority of your stay.

My hotel experience was more positive compared to some of the other reviews written. I arrived Sunday morning for a three night stay and by 1:00 p.m. I received the telephone call that my room was available for check-in. This was excellent since it was not scheduled to be available until 4:00 p.m. The front desk staff was courteous. Maya was both enthusiastic and knowledgeable about things to do in the area. The room refrigerator worked perfectly, as did the cooling unit. The rooms were spacious and clean, and water pressure was decent in the shower. There was an in room safe, but it did need a reset by staff to function. Compared to other casino hotels that I have been in throughout the country, this one was a tad overpriced for what it offered. However, nobody offers the view that this hotel offers. It was peaceful and wonderful to see the boat traffic on the river. If you are coming for a football or baseball game, this is a very convenient hotel to those locations. Otherwise, it is a short car ride to most attractions in the area. Someone made a comment that the Hampton Inn breakfast were better. I stay at Hampton Inns frequently and I would say that the breakfast were very comparable bottom line This is not a luxury hotel but it offers a very comfortable stay for people who want to go to a sporting event or who want to be adjacent to a fully operational Casino.

There is no gift shop or place to buy things you may need, i.e. toothbrush, advil, etc. No room service til 5pm, so no coffee or breakfast. Stay somewhere else

They over charged me and staff was very arrogant and didn't seem to care to honor my original cost. I will say kitchen staff was great but the rest of the staff were extremely unhelpful for us as out of town guests.

This place does not live up to the promise of a "luxury" casino hotel. Rooms are clean and well-appointed, but services are severely lacking. Breakfast was below the quality of most Hampton Inn buffets and there isn't an on-site restaurant. The bar is average. Most of the bars and restaurants in the adjacent Rivers Casino are either closed or operating on extremely limited hours. There is no gift shop, pantry, or even a vending machine so I hope you don't get any late-evening munchies. Worst of all, a hotel employee entered my room without knocking to "check on" the cleanliness of the room at 9PM. Creepy. Overpriced for the experience.

We had a comped room from our previous stay. We were asleep when we heard a knock at the door. Front desk person accompanied by security accusing us of smoking in the room. We did not smoke in our room. Requested he enter our room and smell it as there was no smoke smell. He refused. Kept saying a sensor went off? Questioned what sensor and he said at the front desk. Again, stated we did not smoke in the room. He stated he already charged our credit card. I asked for what...smoking. we did not smoke. The charge is 350.00. So be careful when they comp you a room, they will get their money one way or another. They made us feel like trash. I have never been treated or talked to like that by a "supposed professional" especially at a hotel. I have read other reviews about this happening. They are going to end up with a lawsuit on their hands. Will never stay there again. No night or morning manager to talk to. Let a vm and email; no return call. What a racket.

Very beautiful and very clean. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Enjoyed my stay very much. The hotel bar was nice (the lighting could be a little bit dimmer). The barkeep Tom was very good in conversation and mixing cocktails. Enjoyed his company a lot, The only downside was that there was a robe shortage. If I would have know that I would have brought my own. All in all it was a very good experience. Can and would recommend.

Went to a formal party at casino and the hotel did not have our room ready until 8:00 PM. Check in time is supposed to be 4:00 PM causing us to have to get ready in a public bathroom and miss part of our party to finally check into room. If you plan on staying here just make sure you don't need to count on a timely check in.

Stayed for one night. Which was a pleasant stay. Upon recieving my email receipt it included a $350 smoking fee. Absolutely did not smoke in the room. Called hotel and they claimed "a sensor detected it and that the sensor was high tech and detected smoke molecules and could not be wrong". I suggested they go up to inspect room, clearly if I had smoked in room you could tell..cigarette smoke smell would stick around in the 8 hours after they claimed a sensor detected it. They stated the charge would apply with no regard to my suggestion. I asked to speak to someone higher up and they sent me to a voicemail and I am awaiting a call back. Absolutely the poorest customer service from a so called high end hotel. Customer Beware!, there was another review with same situation , I wonder if it was same room with a faulty sensor or just the sensors in general. I will be fighting this charge and not ever returning to the Landing Hotel.
