I booked a room for two days because I was going to see the Steelers play. When I checked in, it was late, so we decided to grab a bite to eat before hitting the casino. After enjoying our time out, we returned to the hotel to get some sleep. When I got into bed, I noticed that the sheets were stained and dirty.
I reported this to the front desk and was told that since they were fully booked, it would be fine for us to change the sheets and comforter ourselves. I waited an hour for someone to come, and eventually, it was the same gentleman who checked me into the room. He apologized for the wait and promised that a manager would compensate us for this issue the next day, and he would leave a note for the manager to get in touch with me.
The following day, I went to the desk, only to be told that no manager was available. On checkout day, I encountered the same gentleman, and I had still never spoken to the manager. He added, "Really? I left notes, but no problem, they will call you later today."
Later, a female manager called but only asked for my name before informing me that they would not be compensating me at all because it was a “learning lesson” for the employee. I expressed that this was not satisfactory and questioned whether this is how they treat their guests. I also mentioned that I had to wait an extra hour before someone came to our room. The manager responded, "Oh, really? Let me call you back," but she never did.
I could have chosen any place to stay, and I thought that a casino and hotel combination, within walking distance of the game, would be ideal. However, I would definitely prefer to stay at a well-known hotel rather than at this one.
