The Spring 2018 Restaurant Opening Guide: Cape and Islands - Eater Boston

"After Land Ho! closed, it quickly transitioned — under new ownership — to the Lanyard Bar and Grill. Ben Porter is behind the new venture, which includes some barbecue on the menu along with fried seafood, sandwiches, tacos, and more." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

First time visiting. Came for dinner (4:30 ish), group of 2 people. We were seated in the back room (by ourselves) by a guy working there, 15-20 minutes go by and no one came to take our drink/food order. I can see the guy who sat us making drinks behind the bar (he never came back to our table). Finally made eye contact with a waitress, she realizes we haven’t been helped & takes our order. After she walks away we can hear her talking about us to other employees about our interaction (very unprofessional). Appetizer finally came out ~20 minutes later. We had a different server check on us occasionally, but time between each check in was long…again we are the only ones in the back room. As we were finishing our meal a group was seated in the back room with us. Seemed like the man who originally sat us knew them personally cause he was at that table constantly. In the 20 minutes they were there they got more attention from him/everyone than we did the 1hr 15 minutes we were there. The guy walked to the back corner right next to our table to adjust the lighting & didn’t even look at or talk to us. As we were leaving we pass him & he finally said “have a good night”. Overall service was terrible, didn’t seem crazy busy. Food was decent...BBQ flatbread was better than the garlic cod. Veggies were not cooked enough & the servings for the sides were small for the price of the meal. As someone visiting the area I was not greeted the way I expected.

Booked a function, chose chicken parm, steak tips and chowder for a buffet. The food was great, lots of compliments! Management is very flexable and open to your needs & wants. A good value. Enjoy!

Food was good. I think the best plate we got was the fish tacos— good portion too!

Stopped in for a meal and the watering hole was kinda crowded so no photos of it. Dining room had only 1 patron, so check out the decor. Like every other time, I was presented with a really good meal with awesome service. Mr. P. Says, I'll be back, 😉😁😁😎 Best fried oysters I ever had. Unfortunately, takes me about four hours to get there from here. And they are less expensive than the clams. Saw all walks of people, from toddlers to grandparents spoiling them. Nice place inside, bar side or restaurant take your pick and enjoy I try to partake in the festivities every few years. Don't be confused by the name, it used to be landhoe or something like that. Food is still all good.✔🎯😊

The food is consistently great. The smoked wings and pulled pork are my favorite! Casual, light, upbeat atmosphere. My server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the items on the menu. With food this good, I'd almost assume the chef works around the clock! Highly recommend!

Another wonderful experience at “The Lanyard”. We had a wonderful server, Lyndsay who couldn’t have been more efficient and nicer. My 5 year old granddaughter was infatuated with her smile and personality and Lyndsay reciprocated some very special attention back to our granddaughter. It made for a special dining experience. Lyndsay promptly came to our table and provided the necessary information we needed for dinner. There were several people in our party that require GF items and the Lanyard has several on their menu. We were seated in the patio area at our request. It is pretty shaded and it was a beautiful evening to dine outside. I’ll choose outside as often as I can because before you know it we’ll all be dining inside over our long winter wishing we could be out on a patio enjoy summer breezes. Lyndsay quickly took our orders and our food arrived in a timely manner. I had a Turkey Club on a GF roll with GF fries. As you can see it was piled high with Turkey. It was very satisfying and the fries are hand cut and delicious. We usually end our summer with a visit to The Lanyard and once again it did not disappoint as this was our most memorable thanks to a very special waitress.

We were greeted by a friendly server who made sure that the service was top notch. She was very attentive as well, and made sure our drinks were full. Our dinner was started off with very juicy and tender Beef Tips ( cooked medium rare) which had a hint of smoke from the grill marks. The Stuffed Quahogs had a hint of smoke from the chorizo sausage, and chunks of clams incorporated into the stuffing mix. The meatiness from the chorizo added a new element to the stuffing. The Chicken Tacos had lots of chicken and cheese which our son enjoyed immensely. The Mac'n' Cheese with Buffalo Chicken was a big hit with my wife. She loved the cheesiness from the Mac'n'Cheese, and the spicy buffalo sauce that coated the juicy chicken. The Cape Cod Reuben is a one-of-a-kind must try sandwich. Flaky cod that has been fried is topped with cheese, and surrounded with creamy cole slaw on toasted pumpernickel bread. A very delicious sandwich for either lunch or dinner.

We go to the Lanyard at least once a week. Consistently a great meal with great atmosphere and the wait staff is amazing. Always wonderful attention to detail and their customers. Luis always bends over backwards to make sure to get you a table as quickly as possible or a drink at the bar. Highly recommend to anyone!
