The Last Crumb Review - Stoke Newington - London - The Infatuation

"One of our favourite type of places is a cafe that you can hole up in for a good few hours, whether it’s for work or the weather. The Last Crumb Cafe is a big space on Church Street that’s perfect for just that. The food is straightforward and tasty, like the open sandwich melt with a couple of poached eggs on top. Who doesn’t like metled cheese, serrano ham, eggs and a nice herby oil? But it’s the staff and the space that really make this place worthwhile. There’s a friendly feel and you can easily lose a couple of hours in here getting stuff done." - Jake Missing

My experience at The Last Crumb was absolutely fantastic. This place impressed me in several ways and is definitely one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. What caught my attention right away was the variety of seating options: indoor, outdoor, and a beautiful garden area upstairs. Each space had its own charm and atmosphere. The indoor area was beautifully designed with soft lighting and warm, cozy decor that made me feel calm and comfortable. The upstairs garden was also amazing—green, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing afternoon with friends or family. The staff were incredibly friendly and professional. Everyone greeted us with smiles and took care of everything with great attention and care. The food was excellent. It was so delicious that I completely forgot to take a picture before eating! I only managed to snap a photo after I finished, which says a lot—it was that good! The only thing that could use some improvement was the parking situation. Although there was plenty of space (easily enough for 25 cars), there were no proper markings or lines, so people parked randomly. Because of that, only about 15 cars could fit. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I was satisfied with everything. Big thanks to the staff for their hard work. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend this place to others.

This is by far our favourite local pub. It's really charming, dog friendly, has delicious pizza and truffle chips to die for. Plus, staff is really attentive and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor space. I also love their decoration ✨✨

The burger I had was amazingly good, although I am glad I ordered the "double". The staff were friendly and hard working. A good atmosphere with a wide range of customers. My reasons for not awarding Five stars are: 1. It is cash only, but it does not say so on the web site (I checked before visiting). Whilst I understand why any outlet might prefer card payments (hard to bank cash, pilfering, bank fees etc.) at least tell potential customers. We all fully understand it is your choice to not accept cash. However, card only business has a tendency to negatively impact the poor, the old, those with special needs/disabilities, and those where leaving a digital footprint is dangerous. You may be alienating some of them for whom money management is an major issue, hopefully not deliberately.I avoid card only establishments whenever possible. 2. I normally pay at the end of a meal. Here I had to pay even the "tip" by card (choose my percentage) at the very beginning. I did not know anything about the quality of the service at that point. I have never seen this before.

Great food and drinks. The staff are quick and the food is good. There’s several vegan options for both pizza and burger. Great for multiple people and for an after work drink. If you’re going with a lot of people I’d recommend making a reservation especially on a Friday weekend

Came to try the burger after reading Edible Reading’s review and was not disappointed except for them that it wasn’t full of customers! Quirky, idiosyncratic pub with a wide range of beer on tap, very friendly staff and I’d love to try the vibe and beer when it’s busy. Double Dodo burger came out fast & piping hot with a smile. I let it cool while munching on the really good chips then bit into the beefy crusty patties in a well-toasted bun. Absolutely fantastic and firmly in the personal ‘one of the best’ category. In a country full of fatphobics, the meat was perfectly juicy and loosely tender, nicely balanced out by the shaved (I assume house-pickled) cukes along with a totally worthy not-overpowering burger sauce and I was honestly transported. I know I’ve gone on a bit but I thoroughly enjoyed this burger & fries experience, probably the best I’ve tried in Reading.

A great selection of local beers on tap in a trendy industrial Dodo pub setting. There’s a large roof garden upstairs with pub benches & heated open containers, plus a new large gazebo outside. The handy hatch in the wall is great for all-outdoor contact free ordering. Attracts a busy young/student crowd at times but good, quality beer for all ages. Burgers & pizzas are yummy too. A great sense of community events, like outdoor cinema screening in the summer. Worth a jaunt up the hill to the top end of Prospect Street for a pint.

Visited here as a family with our 3yo son, it was such a lovely place! Great music and service. The food was incredible, some lovey concoctions that I have never seen on a menu before but were delicious! I mean honey on a pizza?! It was so tasty! Good pints as well. Highly recommend and worth a try

Great al fresco family dinner on a rare warm and sunny evening. Brilliant burgers and pizzas and of course craft beer. Bigger kids enjoyed the pizzas and smaller ones enjoyed the main course, ice cream and a drink - decent value too. Will be back again, hopefully on another sunny evening (but inside is just as lovely as the outdoor terraces)
