Listen to the reviews that say housekeeping does not come. Stayed here in December and had to call several times to make housekeeping aware that the room needed cleaning. It got to a point where the hotel manager, Marvin, contacted them directly and they still did not show up. Security were asked by the manager to drop off towels instead, which did not assist in the fact that the room itself needed to be cleaned after staying there for a few days. The towels did not arrive either. The room itself was clean on arrival and by the time of my departure the manager offered to issue a refund of one night’s stay for the trouble and he was aware that I booked the room via third-party. However, Agoda reached out to them to confirm this information and I was told the hotel was not aware of this and would not be rectifying the situation. The location did offer the convenience of being in a walkable area but it may not appear as the safest for all tourists. Lastly, the rooftop bar has been closed for months and the restaurant appeared to be closed during my stay as well. While it was not an issue, this information should be made available prior to checking-in for the guests that would likely be expecting access to these amenities. Not sure I would recommend this place or return again.

We had a really lovely stay! We were here for 3 nights in February for a girls trip, visiting from NYC and Pennsylvania, and I would stay here again if we came back to St Louis. The rooms were clean & spacious, the building is so unique, historic and gorgeous, and the staff were all friendly and more than helpful. We used the valet quite a bit, although we had no trouble finding street parking when we did it on our own. The bathrooms were spacious and the shower had good pressure (so important!). To know if you’re staying here- there is a mini cafe for snacks, but the hotel bar and restaurant is closed for a bit. It’s a quieter area but there’s still coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance, although we did drive to most places because we chose things a little farther away. There is a night club behind the hotel so if you’re a light sleeper, on Friday and Saturday nights when the club shuts down you may need to use the earplugs the hotel provides in the room. There is a hotel gym that I used once, it could be stocked better with water, wipes and towels- so consider bringing your own.

The Last Hotel STL can not be effectively reviewed as we were 30 mins from St. Louis and checking in when we were notified by our group travel agent that the hotel had chains on the door. Apparently The Last Hotel was bought out and no one knew - not staff or agents who had booked guests. We called the night before arriving to verify our room and if there was free breakfast. Staff was pleasant and did not indicate it would be shut down in the morning. Thankfully, we were lucky and got the last hotel room at The Hilton, however, others were not as lucky as there was a huge volleyball tournament and a conference college tournament in town. I have no clue how takeovers happen, but my opinion of what we experienced as unprofessional. I truly hope all the employees can find new jobs or are compensated at the very least for the take over. Staff - 5 Location - 5 New owners - 0

This hotel has so much potential but has fallen short in every way. The lobby and restaurants are beautiful, but never open. The rooms look great with the tall velvet curtains, but there are odd stains all over the floor and blankets. One member of our party checked into the room and their BED was broken! The rooftop bar was never open as promised. I believe the only people working are the front desk person, valet and security guard. The valet man, Orlando, is an absolute gem of a human and needs to be spared from the travesty that is this "hotel". Friday night, there was SO much chaos outside that we were awake from 11pm-2am with people screaming, partying, driving fast and being overall reckless. Thankfully it rained Saturday night so it was quiet. 2 parties checked out and they have continuously charged and credited our bank accounts, roughly 8+ times. This is VERY suspicious activity that they cannot get their accounting figured out. We've tried MULTIPLE times to get this resolved and it continues to happen. Don't stay here. The pictures on the website showcase this beautiful hotel that has so much opportunity and potential but they have fallen short in every way possible.

Wow what a disappointment - this hotel has so much it could offer and yet it doesn’t seem to be able to or want to. The good: - front desk staff was so very nice and welcoming. - Beautiful design and historic hotel The bad: - the bed was sunk in the middle - the room was so dirty - vomit stains on the walls, makeup by the sink, gunk in the shower - there is virtually no soundproofing to the outside, which meant I had to listen to the nightclub every night from 11pm-3am. Awful. - I asked for my room to be cleaned and it never was - I asked for towels and never got them - there was trash by the elevator for all nights I was staying that was never removed I travel a lot for work (in the industry) and this is one of the worst I’ve ever seen in 15 years, as far as filth and issues. Again, the people working here were so nice - I just don’t understand what is going on elsewhere. It needs to be fixed or this hotel will not survive. I did email my concerns to the owners of the hotel group and have not received an answer. So maybe something public will help.

The building is pretty cool and the rooms are fairly decent. The night clerk told us we would have breakfast available Saturday morning from like 7 to 11. She was wrong and you will not find anything within walking distance that is open before 8 in the morning. The area around the hotel is still being developed so it's not the most appealing when you arrive. Overall a decent experience and I think it will only improve as time goes by. I would recommend this place

Absolutely dreadful. This hotel was an unmitigated disaster. Avoid this filthy, pest-ridden establishment at all costs. I'm compelled to warn anyone considering staying here: this place is a cesspool. The room was a biohazard. Grime coated every surface. Not just dust, but thick, revolting layers of filth caked onto the walls, the threadbare carpet, the dilapidated furniture, the stained curtains, and the corroded fixtures. The photos don't even capture the true horror; what looks grey is actually a once-white wall, now blackened with accumulated dirt. The air was thick with allergens and noxious particles. The curtains were streaked with grime from rubbing against the putrid wall. The furniture was sticky and coated in a repugnant layer of dust. The carpet was a breeding ground for bacteria, littered with disgusting debris, including a discarded, yellowed fingernail. Every breath we took was a struggle, and we were immediately plagued by severe congestion and sickness. We were forced to buy overpriced, ineffective medication from a local pharmacy, but the damage was irreversible. For an excruciating 18 hours, starting at 10 am, a piercing, ear-splitting siren blared incessantly throughout the hotel. It was a torture device, a relentless assault on our eardrums. We tried to drown it out with the TV, but even the deafening roar of the broken, inefficient AC unit couldn't mask the agonizing noise. Sleep was impossible, a cruel joke. We begged for the room to be cleaned, pleading with the incompetent front office manager, who deserves nothing but contempt. I politely detailed the appalling conditions, knowing the front desk isn't responsible for the squalor, but he feigned concern and promised a deep cleaning. We returned at 5 pm to find the room untouched, a stagnant pit of filth. We called again, and the front office manager lied, promising immediate action. Of course, no one came. Three hours later, a bewildered laundry worker arrived with towels, laughing at our request for cleaning. It was nearly 9 pm, and we were exhausted, sick, and trapped in this hellhole. The ultimate betrayal came later. The deceitful front office manager, gave us his business card, then shamelessly denied ever speaking to us to Expedia. When Expedia contacted the hotel, he claimed we never complained or provided feedback on the room. He even had the audacity to say he would have moved us if we had! What a pathetic, bold-faced lie. I have his card, a tangible reminder of his dishonesty. I even remembered details of our conversation around his glasses and the convention we were attending, proving he was lying. The hotel's offer of a single night's refund was an insult. They refused to clean the room or relocate us, opting instead for a cheap, inadequate gesture. This hotel is a den of liars and a breeding ground for disease. Stay away, for your own sanity and health. This is my 8th consecutive year visiting St. Louis. The Last Hotel will not receive future business from me.

I personally liked the interior of the room however, the maintenance could be done a lot better. Coffee table, nightstands, and desk were dusty. (Some might not notice because the room is very dark and lighting is not enough) There were a few stains on bed sheets here and there. (To be honest, the bed sheets did not even look like white, but tan/yellow) The room wasn't clean enough and we also found some hairs on the bathroom tiles&walls. Unfortunately they stopped valet service and its parking garage was closed a week prior to our visit. There is a gated self parking lot right across the street and they charge around $40 (approx.) for overnight parking. (*Be aware: there are meters on the street. Right in front of the hotel entrance. It is free after 8pm so if you do late check-in or hang out til late night you might want to just park on the street) Overall, it was just a disappointment. TBH, the interior of hotel room is not bad at all. But I feel like the hotel management and maintenance ruined everything. They could do better.

Yelp
I came here on Tuesday evening for a meeting, and it was a great venue to sit and chat! We originally wanted to sit on the rooftop but it's closed for a few more weeks. So, make sure you come in may if that's what you're wanting! We ended up sitting at the bar downstairs. Lots of room and big tables to sit at. We were greeted with menus from the bartender and ordered cocktails and wine. She was super kind and welcoming. I got the glass of wine so I can't speak to the cocktails, but the wine was good! A lot of people here were planning on going to the Lizzo concert which was the same night, so it's a good stop before going to a show. Parking might be kind of tricky if you're just stopping in. I found street parking but they do have valet! Looking forward to coming back when the rooftop is open.

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights while in town to see the Usher concert. Let me say that this location was very convenient for the weekend that was planned. We were able to walk to about half of our destinations in about 20 minutes or less or Uber to our destinations within 20 minutes. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the concierge who worked during the day (I didn't get his name but he was very down to earth). The price that we paid was reasonable also. Our stay overall was good and we slept well but I rated this place 3 stars because there was a flickering light in the bathroom that my hubby called to the front desk for to have to replaced but no one ever came to address this during our stay. The second downside was the a part of the bed in our room had a deep dip, which made it hard to lay in that area but both hubby and I were able to find the right spot so we wouldn't be negatively impacted by the dip. In addition to the good price, the decor of the room was cool - it was a modern retro feel, which I thought was super cute! And the room smelled pleasant too. I would recommend if you are looking for a convenient location and a good price, I just hope management addresses the sagging mattress and checks all light fixtures before renting rooms.

Yelp
I stayed here when it first opened as part of a Yelp Elite perk. There was so much potential and it was lovely. We've been to the pool and bar many times since then and enjoyed it. My pictures are from the first time I stayed. Since then, things have really gone downhill. Like vomit in a public area that took hours to get cleaned up. Dirty pool furniture, music with advertisements, scuffs on the walls. This is not luxury and it's embarrassing to St Louis. When you look at the recent Google reviews, the "Owner" responses are appalling (see my photo). Calling people disgruntled employees and snarky remarks like "good luck with finding a better hotel, we are the best in STL". I really want this property to be successful as I live very nearby and we like to frequent it, but it needs to live up to it's (original) reputation. Get it together, Last Hotel.

Yelp
So loud!! DONT STAY HERE!! Tv doesn't work, no room service, coffee machine only had decaf, only one washcloth was provided, etc etc. Parking is 40-60 dollars a night. It was so loud that they provide you earplugs in the room : / This is a 2 star hotel for sure

Robert B.

Yelp
Gets points for a cool factor, but it's run poorly. Watch your wallet!! They messed up on some charges. They did ultimately correct them. Thought we heard gun shots in the middle of the night out on the street. Glad we were on a top floor. The room decor was beautiful. Wouldn't return.

Deanna D.

Yelp
Beautiful art deco hotel that cares about all the design details. The furniture in the lobby, at and rooms was perfect! We'll done! Nice staff and in a fun walkable part of St Louis. Izzy (my go everywhere beagle) was with me and my nephew - make sure to get a pet friendly room and you will be charged $100 extra for fur kids.

Vanessa M.

Yelp
Pretty hotel but everything is closed. The restaurant and bar was shut down. The pool was pretty but dirty. The room was comfortable and clean.

Britany M.

Yelp
Where do I begin? Smh I booked for 2 nights over the weekend to take a staycation to unwind. I visited this hotel when it first opened me and my now husband to look into having our wedding there and the food and drinks were amazing so I thought I was booking at a very nice hotel but oh was I fooled. The main purpose for my stay was to not have to leave, relax and enjoy the amenities of this hotel. After I checked in and my cc was charged I went to my room to drop off my luggage, went to the bar to get a cocktail and was told the bar is closed down until further notice. I planned on eating dinner and was told the restaurant is closed down as well. On the website before I booked didn't state any of this information. My entire stay I had to leave out for food and drinks. They only provide cooler food/drinks and that was overpriced but at this time the food/drinks should've be complimentary for this huge inconvenience. I was pissed and asked for a full refund but was told I wld have to talk to the morning mgr the following morning. I tried to just make the best of it while I was there. Front desk lady was really nice and tried calling the front desk mgr to see if anything could be done to make my experience better. The front desk mgr told me all he cld do was to give me $50 back when I paid almost $500 in total. It was a huge slap in my face. He was very unprofessional/rude to me. He told me I booked to sleep and not to eat/drink there due to the fact I would still have to pay extra to eat and drink there. I was completely blown away on how disrespectful he was towards a paying customer. He laughed at me on the phone and said he didn't even want to talk to me and to hand the phone back to the receptionist. This hotel is promoting false advertisement, stealing from customers and not giving customers what they paid for. This hotel doesn't have a liquor license so no liquor is served there at all. They don't have any restaurants open so you have to UBER food/DoorDash or drive to get food and drinks. Such a waste of time when you book a hotel to unwind and relax. The rooftop hours they advertised was a complete lie. On Saturdays the pool was to remain open till 11 but it closed at 8pm. New management took over and this hotel has completely went downhill since it first opened. This would be my first and LAST time ever booking at this hotel. They charge you $50 for valet just to stay at a hotel where you can't even enjoy a nice dinner, room service, breakfast or a nice cocktail. This hotel needs to be deeply investigated bc false advertising can lead to legal consequences. Fire the front desk mgr(MALE) and promote the valet, front desk ladies and security guards bc they were amazing and provided GREAT customer service.

Yelp
I like that is a real stately full service hotel downtown. Possibly the Last Hotel of its type here, they really mean it with their name.... rich with irony and alliteration. In a storied Shoe Factory building right next to the City Museum (which is the most magical amazing place ever). Please spend your money here and support St Louis! Not a corporate chain or an oligarchial hotel family, which, while giving you a plastic consistency that makes you 'feel' important, shields you from the real character of a place and the cities we have created in 2022's America. Plus, it's haunted. Can't get that at an IHG or Hilton! Like dust they shall become, and the Last Hotel remains. Enjoy! Now for the less than good: most of the foibles in other reviews are true. LAST HOTEL MGMT: get your stuff together. Stop freaking out about the pool guest passes! Make people happy! Get your staff on track with orienting all their work through the lens of customer service, and fix broken room features immediately (toilet handle and lights for us, check other reviews). Realize that literally hundreds of thousands read travel reviews daily, and that could be your business with a few minor changes in attitude and affect that ups the 1 and 2 star reviews to 3, 4 or 5. And finally. Pricey for the style of the place and size of room. Lower prices Last Hotel, and fill some rooms!!!!!! Do this old venerable building and downtrodden downtown STL justice, it's in your hands.

Yelp
This hotel is one of the nicer options in the area and has a rooftop pool that was one of the highlights of our trip. However, nothing was ever available when we needed it. The rooftop bar was supposed to be open at all 11AM, yet it was still closed when we ended up having to leave around 11:45. In addition, we received two free coffee coupons upon check in but were told the coffee bar was closed when we came down in the morning and that the coffee had been poured out. After the baseball game the night before, we were amongst at least 12 other guests who wanted a night cap at the bar in the lobby only to find out that it closed early. That being said, the hotel room was amazing and the king sized bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and check in was a breeze. Would definitely stay here again, but I hope they start to open things on time!

Yelp
My husband and I got married here last year. This hotel is the most poorly managed and understaffed venues in all of St. Louis. A few months into our wedding planning the event coordinator from the hotel left abruptly and the replacement, Hillary, provided us nothing but assurances that everything would be taken care of in the transition. That was a complete lie. From when I tried to check in to the bridal suite the night before our wedding and was told the room wasn't paid for (despite confirmation via email the room was complimentary), to the fiasco of our wedding night, this place is a dumpster fire. Without our incredible wedding planner and her team, there is no way the room would have been flipped from the ceremony in time for our dinner reception. The event coordinator Hillary was missing for 5 hours day of and not responding to calls or texts. Though we were assured the AV system was state of the art, there was one speaker for the entire ballroom and the music was barely audible. Dinner was served over an hour late and was cold, which then delayed us being able to entertain our guests at the after party. After party appetizers were supposed to be served by 7:30 and the first tray didn't arrive until 9:15, 15 min before the event was supposed to end. Our after party guests were leaving early to find food elsewhere as a result. Valet staff were being removed from their duties to help find and clean chargers, so our guests couldn't fully utilize the valet service we paid for. Housekeeping staff were recruited to serve dinner because they didn't have enough catering staff. The bartender was missing from the bar periodically because she was also being asked to clean and serve dinner. After reviewing all these issues and more with the hotel manager (Mike) and providing documentation from our wedding planner about how the event would not have even taken place without the work of her team, his response was that the invoice should've been paid before the event. However despite repeated emails to request a detailed invoice in the weeks leading up to our wedding, this was not sent until the day after the wedding. Mike also said that based on his conversations with his staff the event was a "success". He also said that no complaints were filed the night of the event, as though I was supposed to file a written complaint with management at 9:30 pm when I'm leaving my own wedding to get ready for the rest of our weekend celebrations. When we asked him to remove charges for services not completed and tried to negotiate the invoice given their incompetence with the event, he refused and kept threatening to involve his lawyer (never actually followed through on this). Mike also told us that he is an investment banker and his partner was supposed to take care of the hotel business but that he was left to deal with this on his own. Clearly he has no idea how to manage a business and has no right to advertise the capability to host a wedding at this sad excuse for a hotel. Do NOT have your wedding or any other important event at this hotel. You will be sorely disappointed. It's a shame that such a happy event in our lives is forever tainted by the experience we had at this terrible venue.

Sallie Ann W.

Yelp
This hotel is exceptional. I was supposed to stay 3 nights, but due to a family emergency I had to leave early. I cannot wait for my next trip to STL so I can enjoy more time. The building and hotel name stem from a great history. My room was well appointed, clean and very comfortable. And the restaurant downstairs has the best pizza. Would have loved something sweet, but hey... a great gym is more important, and this place has it. I'll be back for a longer stay.

Miles O.

Yelp
Tried to charge me $60 to WALK to my car to get something out of it. All I wanted were the keys to my car to walk 3 blocks in the cold to get something out of it from the parking garage. Didn't even ask the valet to get my car.. Also looks like a wannabe American horror story/funhouse sort of joke hotel. Had a great view though of a disgusting cheap apartment building next door where barely any residents had blinds on the windows so that made for some disgusting and great entertainment. Gross, old, and all around just bad. Would've preferred a holiday inn, literally. Hopefully this will be your last choice of hotels in STL

Shaunna W.

Yelp
Was perfect for our show at the enterprise arena, but very noisy! Defiantly a party hotel. Would not bring the kids here.

Michelle V.

Yelp
Perfect location, close to everything. Stayed two nights from Cincinnati for toby mac concert. Specifically chose here over other hotels is the uniqueness, not "over the top" but vintage and laid back. Rooms aren't equipped with the usual (microwave, coffee mugs/cups, ice buckets) minimal but efficient. The rooftop pool is open tear round, on a 40° day like today, 75 degree pool seems a bit to cold. It's very clear and inviting. Would gladly come back in warmer months. Overnight parking $40, with in and out privileges is $60. Park across street in gated lot for $30 for 25 hours.

Yelp
I wasn't going to write a negative review but after reaching out to the hotel I am very disappointed in the way the have handled my issue. I booked this reservation specifically because on the listing they stated they had robes, slipper and room service. Once I got there they informed me they only provide robes as requested and brought me one up to my room (no problem) the streaming on the TV was also disconnected and they came and fixed that for me. HOWEVER that was not the issue, the issue was the dirty towels with hairs and unidentified stains on them (see pictures attached), the dust and the dirty sink. I was so off put after that that I ended up leaving after a 2 hour stay. Not to mention they provide the lowest quality soap and shampoo for $200 dollars a night I expect better. As soon as I left I spoke to booking.com and asked for a refund and after reaching out to the hotel booking.com informed me the hotel would not give me a refund because "they provided me with a robe and fixed my tv" which wasn't even the reason I decided to leave. Anyway, don't stay here, rooms are dirty and customer service is terrible.

Jacklyn D.

Yelp
Booked my hotel room almost 2 weeks in advance. When we got to the hotel at 4 (check in anytime after 3) our room was not ready. We were told we were "third in line" and not given an actual time frame of how long we had to wait with our luggage. After a little we did get a room but upon arrival to said room it was occupied/had items still in the room. We had to go back down and wait for another room. Finally we got to our room and there were no robes or coffee stocked either. King bed also sagged in the middle and was difficult to get out of and pretty uncomfortable. When trying to check out at about 8:15am there was no one at the counter to help us check out either. Otherwise, stay was fine. I'm very sad because I love Saint Louis and heard such good things about this hotel. Hopefully our stay was just a fluke but pretty disappointed.

Kiana C.

Yelp
My fiancé and I were passing though from North Carolina and we needed a place to rest after driving 12 hours. After reading the reviews I thought it would be a decent place to stay for the price. We got the Junior suite. The decor was nice but it overall was pretty dirty and needed some TLC. My fiancé described it as "putting makeup on a pig or a polished turd". And then on top of that, there was a shooting right around the corner (street was blocked off)! Additionally there was so much noise outside which included loud revving cars, quads doing wheelies, random fireworks like mortars, and people screaming. Oh and we could also hear an iPhone alarm going off for about an hour at 4:00am next door which means the insulation and dry wall probably isn't that great. Beware!

Chassidy D.

Yelp
LOVED IT! We are celebrating our anniversary and decided on a staycation. The Last Hotel did not disappoint. For starters the service was great! Everyone was exceptionally friendly and made sure that our stay was optimal. Now let's talk about the decor, it was as if I stepped into the 50's but then you catch a peek of something so modern and eye popping. I would call the style "Modern Ratpack" in our room they had a very unique book assortment, such as the autobiography of Tina Turner, as well as Mobs, Murder, and Mayhem each room is slightly different but all extremely beautiful. Definitely a must try!

Antonia F.

Yelp
This hotel was in a good location relative to everywhere else we went while visiting St. Louis. The history of this place is pretty cool, as it was once a shoe factory and still had some remnants of that time and a pretty cool factory feel. I forgot to take pictures of our room, but what you see on the site is pretty accurate. The room was a bit small, but the halls are spacious and like that of a giant loft. The shower was nice, the sheets and bed were comfy and the service was friendly.

Yelp
Decided to stay here for a little stay cation for the weekend. It was a nice getaway for STL! We wandered Washington Avenue the first night and laid by the pool all day Saturday. The breakfast tacos were amazing! Probably my favorite. The rooftop was so nice all day Saturday & never got too crowded. The drinks are a little more expensive, but super good. We ate dinner at the restaurant the final night (now called Ultimate Cucina) - I think I liked it better as The Last Kitchen. Still good though. Overall great spot for a nice weekend getaway

Yelp
We chose this hotel based on the pictures of the roof top pool. Arrived at 7:30pm after a 12 hour drive with my 3 children. Waited a good 20 minutes to be checked in. Hurried and changed into bathing suites because it was now 8:08 pm and the front desk gal said pool closed at 9. We got up to the pool that no one was in and 2 security guys came up to inform us NO KIDS IN THE POOL after 7pm. I did not see this posted online and it should be in capital letters! Four families were turned away! This was a huge disappointment and no one seemed to care. The hotel is pretty from afar but far from good quality and service. Ultimately we checked out and moved to another hotel.

Yelp
Highly recommended this hotel! Staff was great! Especially Ashley at the front desk! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Soon after walking in the front doors, we knew that this hotel wasn't quite what it touted itself to be. It's a little long, but worth a read if you are looking to stay at The Last Hotel STL. We arrived in front for a one night stay and we're greeted outside by one of the employees who then opened the door for us. Very nice guy and a great start. We walked into the lobby and the stark, industrial theme hit us. Not our style but kind of hip and interesting. Front desk attendant was gracious and quick to check us in. Our first impression was that it was a cool place but the lobby floor was dirty. Upon arriving in our room, it was nice but fell a little flat. One washcloth, no hand towels... seemingly little details mean a lot to a hotel guest, especially at this price point. We eventually headed up to the pool which has great views of the downtown. I mean really cool views. However, there were two areas roped off with caution tape where the flooring appeared to be absent for some equipment, few towels left in the towel bin, the chairs on one side of the bar were in sort of a jumbled mess, and it appeared to just not be well kept. There are dead plants in every pot, the floors were dirty, the bar floor was sticky and the men's locker room was in need of service. The men's locker room had no hand soap, no paper towels in the one dispenser, it was used as pool storage for extra chairs and cushions, fine, just organize it and please don't pile it up in your lone shower making it unusable. After a while some threatening weather was moving in so they asked us to move into the bar area. Absolutely fine, good decision as the weather rolled in with a fury. Before we went in, we asked about the loud bird noises we kept hearing which, we were explained, were to keep pigeons away. All good, but it was really loud and prohibitive when trying to listen to your piped in music with commercials... (once again, details). After we waited out the storm, we went back outside and had no assistance nor service in removing/replacing the water logged cushions. The one employee in the bar was busy talking to a friend instead of even offering assistance. We had a 7pm reservation for the hotel restaurant, Ultima Cucina, and arrived about 10 minutes early. Waited 10 minutes to be greeted by the host only to find that he was the host, server and busser for the whole restaurant. He told us that the hotel pulled all of his non-kitchen staff for a wedding reception. Once seated, we waited 15 minutes for him to come back with waters or for a drink order. Instead we watched three other tables leave due to the poor service this lone man was trying to work through. Details. We decided to leave and have dinner down the street. (See my review on Rosalita's) Arrived back to the hotel with two gentlemen employees opening the doors and walking in, a nice detail. Went up to our room for which I have both compliments and issues. The bathroom is big with roomy counter space. The shower is really big with a nice sized shelf for body wash, razor, etc. However hotel management, please spend $25 and get a decent shower head for your guests. Details. The bed has reasonable sheets but when we pulled them back, our bed was 'short-sheeted' and we had to remake part of the bed. Yep, really. The next morning, we went to the pool and had to call the front desk to get it opened after the 9am opening time. When we were on the pool deck, there were a few towels but no dry cushions to use because it had rained the night before. One would think that they would move the cushions inside when there is a threat of rain. Nope. Details. In all, the stay was not what we expected when making the reservation and looking at the reviews, and certainly not deserving of more than two stars nor the more than $300 per night price tag. This hotel has been open since 2019 and still has a number of issues to work out. My overall takeaway is that St Louis downtown has a number of options. Until they have figure out the details, I'd rather stay somewhere else.

Yelp
Paid $350 a night for our little anniversary stay. -The television wouldn't even turn on -plumbing was backed up and causing gunk to come out of the sink basin while running water. (The sink was unusable and the toilets would not flush. Also causing the room to smell) -I immediately brought it to the front desks attention where he informed me we could not move rooms but we would be compensated. -now around a year later and the management has been hard to contact and uncooperative. Not even a partial return or any kind of credit was issued! I'm not the type to ask for comp. However it's was over 300 a night and they really made the old lady unhappy on our special weekend.

Yelp
The hotel is old, however charming. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful, but the problem is that they are in a bad area of St. Louis. We were wakened every night with loud street racing. It went on every night from midnight to 3 am. Loud mufflers, screeching tires. Loud people screaming. It was not a pleasant experience. The hotel should be rated 2.5 stars. I don't recommend this place.

Yelp
Our rooms were decorated as old industrial with modern updates, which made the room very uniquely beautiful. The bed was VERY comfortable and the room was very clean. Staff were incredibly friendly and I am looking forward to staying there again on my next trip to The Lou.

Yelp
This is a rough review to write and is based on my stay here this past weekend (7/24-7/25). I was supposed to stay 2 nights for a staycation (I live in St. Louis) and checked out a day early, only staying one night. Please understand that my experience is greatly impacted by the hotel's response to Covid, but not entirely. It's for this reason that I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 star. Let's start with the good. This is a very nice hotel as far as aesthetics, spaciousness and cleanliness of the room, and friendliness of the staff. There was also live jazz music in the lobby bar on Friday night which was great! That's where my compliments end. I came here with specific things in mind and NONE of those things were accommodated which affected the quality of my experience here. Here's the list: 1. The hotel advertises that they are valet only and don't have self parking. I expected valet but it's not in operation because of Covid. Fair enough, but this means you have to park at meters (which only go up to 2 hours 7am to 7pm daily, or park at nearby private lots with no validation. It was a hassle getting on the parking meter app constantly to make sure that it hadn't expired. Not relaxing. 2. My room faced the alley where the dumpsters are located and BEFORE 6am on Saturday (Saturday, people!), I was awoken to loud banging and crashing of dumpsters right below me. I was on the 5th floor. Not relaxing. 3. Although the bed was comfortable, the pillows were not. I am a stomach sleeper but the pillows (all six of them) are for people who sleep on their back or side, so I was uncomfortable getting to sleep and comfy in the bed. Not relaxing. 4. The rooms are advertised as having robes in the room, and there were none in my room. May have been blamed on Covid, but who knows. Not relaxing. 5. The infamous rooftop pool area was OVERFLOWING with people, standing around, crowded at 6pm on Friday. No social distancing of any kind or masks except those worn by the staff. The pool was packed! I get it this is a see and be seen place but sheesh. There were no empty chairs. I understand that this hotel sells day passes to non-guests to get access to the rooftop and I suspect that a good number of the people up there were not hotel guests, but as a hotel guest, I feel like I and other guests should have been given priority to the pool/rooftop area. I get it. This is a business with a popular hotspot and they have to make money however way they can, but what is the cap on day passes? I was really looking forward to experiencing and relaxing on the roof but there was NO WAY that I could with the 30 people up there. The space is only so big. The entire pool was lined with people sitting and standing on the edge. NOT RELAXING. 6. Saturday morning, I called the front desk to order room service, which I was really looking forward to doing during my stay. I was told that they were so backed up with room service orders that they stopped doing it and that I could come down and grab breakfast to go if I'd like. W T F! At this point, I was upset and started thinking about checking out because absolutely nothing I came here was available. I went downstairs and stopped at the front desk to ask when I could check out by and not be charged for the second night that I booked. The front desk attendant was kind and told me I had til noon. He didn't ask me what was wrong or if I was enjoying my stay or anything. He also acknowledged that I said "I'm thinking about checking out early but may not." Still, he didn't take that as a chance to see if he could turn things around. Disappointing. 7. Here's the FINAL STRIKE folks. I went to breakfast in the restaurant. There were only 2 servers and what I believe was a manager working there. The menu is small and reasonably priced. I requested the basic eggs-bacon-toast breakfast advertised with homemade jam (the last point is important), with a cup of coffee, and a mimosa. My coffee arrived first with no spoon, leaving me with stirring my coffee with a huge knife. How dreadful. My food came out as I asked my waitress for a spoon. After she left I looked and saw that there was no jelly/jam with 4 pieces of toast. She quickly came back with my spoon. I asked for jelly/jam to which she replied, "I'm sorry but we're all out." ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!?!?!?!? I acknowledged that it wasn't her fault that she was running around working her behind off. She was very gracious and kind to me, but still, no jam and you advertise jam with toast. smh When I got my check I also noticed that my plain jane, black, basic, boring, no frills, no syrup-having, single cup of coffee cost F I V E D O L L A R S. Really, like really? At this point, I knew that my time at the Last Hotel was over. I went upstairs, quickly packed up my stuff and got ready and left. I'd come back for the lobby bar and the rooftop possibly, but not as a guest.

Yelp
Great spot in the city. Clean rooms and great staff. We were very comfortable and were right around the corner from City Museum.

Yelp
Oof. I'll share my experience in hopes it doesn't happen to you. My husband and I booked The Last Hotel for a weekend trip to St. Louis. Unfortunately, during our stay our laptop and clothing items went missing from the room. We immediately attempted to contact management with no response. Over the stay, we politely declined servicing and cleaning, so were very alarmed when the items went missing - especially items with private information in them. When we finally received a response via email, the owner, Mike Qualizza had stated they would audit the room key. Several days later I requested an update and asked if filing a police report would be appropriate. He replied that it likely wouldn't be beneficial to file with the STLPD and instructed me to provide the laptop model info. for replacement. We received a refurbished item from eBay that we were unable to access due to not having the user's Windows username/password. I had communicated to Mike our primary concern was our private information and that we had no use for a refurbished laptop we could not use. He instructed to return the item and offered cash value for the missing items. When I notified him the item was shipped to be returned, his response was that it was not his responsibility to find a solution and no one had entered our room according to their records. When I requested their records, he spoke distastefully and inappropriately and hung up. He since has blocked both my husband and I's numbers and is unresponsive via email. Mike, if you're reading this, I'm confused at the lack of cooperation on the matter - please return communication so we can find a proper solution. If anyone is still reading, my review of the hotel is that it doesn't meet with the luxury it advertises. If you're of status at any hotel chain, its 4-star rating will leave you a little deceived. Lack of cleanliness in rooms (broken/dirty decor, unmade bed upon check-in), noisy, broken TV. Wish I had more positivity to share, but this was my experience.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Read the reviews on this place before you book! First the require you to valet park and charge $40/night to park it in unsafe location (read reviews of people with theft). I requested a refund once I found out about safety of this and was denied. They post the incorrect cost of valet parking on their website and Expedia. They are rude and state everyone should know you have to pay for parking.

Yelp
The hotel is located close to everything. The staff is super friendly. The drinks aren't cheap but it's a hotel so if you want cheap drinks go down the street. The best part is the roof top pool. It's not deep but it's perfect to hang out, have a drink or 10, and be seen. Amazing spot with an amazing view.

Yelp
I was pretty excited about finding this hotel as a last minute getaway- it looked beautiful and budget friendly. However, my stay was not as amazing as I had hoped. As I pulled into a parking spot outside of the hotel, I received an email stating a "confirmation update." I find out that my room was somehow changed from the "junior suite" I had booked to a "king executive room" without my knowledge or consent. Granted, there are small differences between the room, but that's beside the problem. Upon arrival, we went to the front desk to check in. As the front desk staff member was about to tell us that our room had to be changed, another staff member said that the room (the junior suite) was available and to "give it to them first because they are here first." She continued to scroll through her iPad and said she may be able to give us the bigger of the rooms she had available. Which was followed by a "it's just two of them, do they need the bigger room?" From the other staff member. I was flabbergasted when he said that. I was pretty excited to be staying at this hotel but encountered sketchy business even before stepping inside. I try to give them the benefit of a doubt as the weather was very nice that weekend, which probably resulted in a large influx of hotel and non-hotel guests leaving staff members flustered. But I had never had this happened to me before. We got our room and went upstairs. Both staff members were not wearing masks when we checked in. But moving on. During these days of pandemic, I have become hypersensitive to my surroundings, and naturally examined all surfaces upon entering my room. Main things spotted were dried toothpaste on the sink counter, fake set of eyelashes on the floor in the bathroom, and white substance on the table - we called the front desk and asked for disinfectant wipes. Luckily they had some and we wiped down all surfaces ourselves because we weren't so sure if we could trust the cleaning service prior to our check in. I believe we were missing robes too in our room, but that was a minor thing. We checked out the roof top pool and were welcomed by a large crowd. We were the only ones with a mask on. So we left. Our night was uneventful. Checked out and will not look back.

Yelp
Oh, The Last Hotel, how I love you. I knew I loved you in the summer because of your rooftop pool, but you're just as great all year around. For locals, the rooftop pool is the highlight. The music is always on point, drinks are flowing, and there are always folks up there having a great time. During lunch and dinner hours you can order food poolside, either from the bar or from servers that they have circulating. I stayed here for a little staycation on Sunday evening and it was amazing. There are a handful of reasons I say this, but my absolute favorite parts were the spacious shower and how comfortable the bed was. Each room is stocked with a mini bar with really nice liquors. They also have snacks you can purchase in the rooms. Inside of the showers they have luxury shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, and body lotion. I'm obsessed with the body lotion there. There is a coffee maker in the room, but I prefer the drip coffee downstairs because it's locally roasted by COMA Coffee. There are plenty of spaces in the hotel where they host events and weddings and the main entry has a bar and restaurant. All of the food I've enjoyed from them is delicious and I always have such an enjoyable time.

Yelp
Beautiful property. Awful service. Awful treatment. My nightmare started by placing my reservation on booking. I received an email stating my reservation was cancelled. I should have moved to another hotel but didn't. I was told someone called to cancel my reservation when I was the only one who knew my reservation information. Then I travel more than 14 hours and was told I needed a $200 deposit. I talked to the property days prior to booking and even the day of as I paid for my reservation. So I travel a far distance, tired, paid for my reservation and was going to loose money if I cancel through bookings. A strange paid my deposit so I didn't have to sleep in my car. Once I got to my room, no cable or television. We were moved to another room and the same thing. The night agent was pleasant but Arthur was awful. He had not a care in the whole for us. He's a liar and rude. I will never stay here again. And do not recommend this hotel.

Shane I.

Yelp
Folks here are genuinely nice. Have never had a problem after staying multiple times over multiple nights. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The rooms are kid friendly, even though it does have a chic vibe.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I loved staying at the Last Hotel. Excellent design and great staff. Our view was nice, our room was perfect, and breakfast the next morning was really good. I hope to come back sometime in the summer to enjoy the rooftop pool. It couldn't have been better.

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Canceled our reservation (made and paid 2-mos prior) due to "mechanical issues" 2-days before our trip. My guess is...they overbooked due to a concert in the area.

Wesley K.

Yelp
I spent over $300 specifically for this hotel for the pool and bar on the roof with plans of enjoying these features after the events planned in STL since it was my girlfriends birthday. I asked the open and close times before booking to confirm we would be able to use these amenities. The pool and bar on the roof was closed hours early. I contacted the manager/owner stating what happened and looking to be accommodated to reap the benefits of my $300+ purchase, but he clearly didn't care about the hotel's guest experience.

Yelp
Wow-wee, St.Louis, this place is a beaut! After reading about this hotel in a few magazine articles and then seeing the Yelp elite party that was hosted, I was convinced this was the spot for our Labor Day exploration between bike races. I'm a sucker for repurposing old buildings and keeping the historic charm and stories intact. This building once served as a factory for creating shoe "lasts" - I may be saying this wrong but it's the wooden mold used to form shoes. Here's why we loved the hotel: -super friendly staff that seemed to proud of the building's history -rooftop bar with an elevated pool and beautiful skyline views (note that the I preferred this space during the morning hours when it wasn't so packed and we could actually get in the pool) Note that the pool is open 24 hours a day from what we could tell -beautiful room décor -the mini bar and snacks in the rooms spotlight local St. Louis treats -delicious menu of frozen cocktails on the rooftop -walking distance to several downtown attractions and businesses including the City Museum -affordable and free parking can be found on the street in the surrounding areas (valet is also available) -lovely bath and body products in the bathroom

Yelp
Stayed here it was an absolute disaster, my room was nothing like I booked. I could have lived with that, but then the rooftop was closed, the bar and the pool even after i called and checked to make sure they were going to be open, and no one could tell me why. Everyone was rude and very clueless. Went to get a snack and everything was relabeled as they had expired they didn't even bother to try to cover it up. I tried to contact management to see if they could work with us or at least talk to us but they ignored me. The last hotel should be a last resort it is the furtherest from a luxury or boutique hotel. I honestly had a better experience at a days inn. You want a beautiful hotel with exquisite service and amenities I recommend the hotel St.Louis autograph collection. It is stunning and everything is so nice and clean. Was so happy to leave and go there. Reading the replies from the man baby of a Manager/owner I expect his rudeness in response, I wouldn't stay here if it was free and I don't want anything back I take it as a lesson learned trash breeds trash environments. Attached is my proof since anyone who has actually been to a boutique hotel calls this place out gets called a liar or a fake review. Guess yall should have answered my numerous complaints while I was there. Instead of ignoring me

Yelp
Parking was a pain the guy didn't explain anything but we figured it out and had a blast big beds big rooms not to shabby

Yelp
This was my second stay with The Last Hotel. My first experience was 2-3 years ago and overall 4.5/5 stars. My most recent stay over the weekend was a far cry from the first time. I moved to Nevada, so I wanted to plan a rooftop pool hangout for me and my friends when I visited Saint Louis. They sell pool day passes on resortpass.com I checked the website and it said passes for that day were "unavailable." I found this odd because why wouldn't it just say "sold out"? I decided to phone the hotel and ask. The man that answered the phone stated the passes do not go on sale until the Sunday before the date desired. So I wrote it in my calendar to buy my friends passes that day, and proceeded to book a room for my spouse and me. Mind you, these passes are $75 a piece, much more than they used to be. The Sunday comes and the website says the same thing. I call the hotel again to ask exactly what time they go on sale. My date being a Saturday, I was afraid they would sell out. August answers the phone and says I was told completely incorrect info. Passes did not go on sale the Sunday before the date desired, and passes were long since sold out for my date. I explain to her that I've booked a room, and had my friends not been able to secure passes, I would not have booked with her hotel. To appease me, she put a note in my booking that I would be allowed to have 4 guests accompany me to the rooftop pool that day. This of course was extremely generous and I was pleased. I would have been fine with even paying for the passes still as long as all my people could come together. Our special day comes. We have breakfast at the hotel beforehand. Service was slow, but still the best service we'd have all day. Breakfast was tasty (I had breakfast tacos). We ordered 3 iced coffees to take upstairs. They were called "vanilla lattes" on the menu. They were disgusting and we ended up tossing them. Also, they were out of ice? So we had to get ice for them at the rooftop bar, only to find they were nasty. When we were checking in, a tall black woman was very displeased when we told her about the situation. She said "no one would have told you that. You must have called some random 800 number and gotten someone who doesn't know what they're talking about." I showed her the date and phone number on my iPhone, and she said "that's our number but no one here would have told you that." We were given 4 wristband passes. We clarified, we as guests don't need wristbands, and these 4 were for our friends. No, they said, 4 total. So I explain that August's note must have been interpreted incorrectly because I had reiterated to her it would be 6 people (2 guests + 4 friends). He had to CALL her and make sure. They made me feel like I was just trying to get free stuff and game the system, but that couldn't be further from the truth. In the end, he gave us 2 more wristbands. My friends felt uncomfortable watching this all unfold. I don't think they'd ever choose to book a room there after this treatment. Finally we get upstairs. The rooftop pool is an awesome place to hangout. Amazing view, modern space, full bar. We were up there for about 4 hours or so. Im expecting the place to get packed after all their fuss about passes, but it was mostly empty the whole day! Im pretty sure our party of 6 kept the bar in business! Food was average. I remember it being comparable to the hotel restaurant food, but it was not as good this time. The bartender was sweet however. Our room was dirty and one of our lamps had a burned out bulb. I had to switch out the bulbs so I could read the newspaper on my side of the bed. The shower was the most gross. There were gooey spots all over it, like someone had jizzed or snotted all over the place and someone had just run water over it. Surfaces were dusty and carpet felt yucky under bare feet. Excellent water pressure though, and sheets felt fairly clean. To think we had toured this place as a potential wedding venue. We won't stay here again.

Yelp
We decided to stay at The Last Hotel very last minute (booked the morning of) and were very pleasantly surprised. The decor is a beautifully curated blend of old and new; clever nods to the old shoe factory gave the spaces a fresh, bespoke quality (I wanted to steal all of the furniture and paint choices for my own house). Bed was comfortable, bathroom was spacious and sophisticated, mini bar was well-appointed. The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was the room temperature. The heat only could be turned up to 72 degrees max - and as it was a chilly day, the room felt a bit drafty. Similar situation with the shower; even at the hottest setting, it was really only lukewarm - not the steamy shower I was hoping for. I called the front desk to see if something could be done, but got no call back. All in all, I would stay here again - probably during warmer months.

Yelp
What a wonderful tour of the International Shoe Company...please take a look at the pictures and enjoy the amenities of this up and coming St Louis Hotel located on Washington Street. If you look closely you will see a sexy, debonair, sophisticated looking throwback hotel for those with a need for the personalized touch. It's definitely at The Last Hotel.

Yelp
The hotel and most the staff were wonderful. Orlando was awesome. Deserves a raise. Very friendly and very helpful. The only complaint would be our beds were horrible and broken and our waitress was very moody and then we had debris from the ceiling was all over the beds and floor. Thanks Orland

Charles P.

Yelp
This hotel is one of the best in St Louis. The lounge area is relaxing, modern, clean and inviting. The rooms are cozy, well appointed and I was tempted to steal all of the furniture. We stayed in the king suite for $179 Dog friendly + people friendly made me very friendly. Good job!

Yelp
Beautiful and stunning new St Louis hotel located in the heart of downtown! Super friendly and helpful staff, great lobby bar and the most beautiful rooms I have seen in a long time. This hotel definitely did a great job at renovations and décor and just has an overall very grand fell. They also have a rooftop bar (not many around St Louis!) and a pool at the top which provides beautiful views of St Louis. The rooms provide very plush towels and bathrobes and was decorated very tastefully and luxuriously with beautiful furniture. The whole hotel feels very sophisticated overall.
