My husband booked this hotel for our honeymoon that we never had - we are so glad he did!|1. The location is impeccable, 5 mins from the beach. Building and amenities felt young, clean and nice (so many selfie worthy spots + surf forecast)|2. Staff is friendly + went out of their way to help out stay |-Shout-out to Reilyn who made our room a dream to stay in; |-Sherry Mae who (twice) walked in on us sleepy heads at 10am who kept forgetting to use the "Maybe later or never" signs. (We startled her haha) She was always happy to help, upbeat and super quickly helped us get all the fresh towels, new soap and cups before we even thought of it! And got us those killer free chips|-Jace at the front desk! My husband got sick, so we missed the lei making class and Jace managed to get us fresh Leis so we could enjoy the tradition|-The valets and the busboys handled our 6 bags FLAWLESSLY (suggestion: change out the sticker because it is hard to peel off after a day)|4. The hotel offers all these free classes to keep yourself or kids entertained. Free shaved ice on certain days and beach towels and cruiser bikes you can check out to use|5. The freebies! We got the cutest tote bag and chips/choco/water for free. They also have sparkling and cold water in the hallway for refills! |6. The bar and restaurant downstairs are super popular. So was the Japanese resto Tamagame across the street (literally has a line around every meal time).||All to say, glad we stayed here! Had no idea this was now under Marriott so even got points for the stay too!

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights as we were island hopping. The hotel itself is in a great location and super walkable to alot of restaurants and the beach. The staff is super friendly and they have some cool activities throughout the day. The rooms are nice and comfortable. My only complaint would be the noise, if you're trying to rest throughout the day that may be difficult.

Google
Great location, easy to get into and out of if you have a car/Uber. Only a couple doors down from the International Marketplace, and short walking distance from the beach. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were very quiet and clean. The bed was really comfortable. And, the shower was tall enough for my 6'1" husband with plenty of hot water and good water pressure. We had breakfast at the restaurant a couple mornings and recommend the Buckwheat Pancakes and the Yogurt and Local Fruit. We had a very enjoyable stay, highly recommended.

Google
Amazing experience at the LayLow! Absolutely loved our stay! The vibe is super stylish and chill—mid-century modern meets tropical paradise. Our room was spotless and comfy with thoughtful touches throughout. The pool area is peaceful and perfect for relaxing I recommend booking the bottom floor room, they connect directly to the pool and you get easy access to everything. Best of all, the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. Perfect location too—close to everything but still feels like a peaceful escape. Can’t wait to come back! Heads up - Valet parking only

Absolutely a treat to stay here. The housekeeper Charlie and nori are amazing. Charlie really cleaned the room well but on the last night must of been pretty busy because it wasn’t as prettiness the first few nights nonetheless still did an amazing job. She’s super friendly also and always ready to help! We will definitely be back! The hideout restaurant is great too in terms of food. I would recommend some more training for Sarah who is a server there as she was not friendly one bit at the restaurant. She was pretty rude from the get go and when I asked for an extra plate to split up my children’s pancakes she decided to take 2 tables orders before bringing me a plate. So I asked another server who also was quite confused as to why she did that. She was flat out rude. Other than that everything was great! Rita at the front desk is also someone we worked with for a paid upgrade to a corner suite. Since we have 2 young kids we like more space. The room was on the 4th floor so nothing special about the views but nice to have views on both sides. The manager at the hotel is fabulous. There was a tsunami warning during our stay with was pretty crazy because there wasn’t any dinner for one night at the hotel or in the whole city but it was handled the best it could have been by the city!

Google
This is the best hotel in Waikiki!! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. You are in the heart of the action; restaurants, clubs, International Market, the beach etc. The only complaint I have is that the trash cans in the rooms are so small that a single can of soda will almost fill it up. Other than that the rooms are amazing. Not too casual but not too formal. I will definitely be back!!! Thanks for the amazing experience.

Our recent stay at The Laylow Waikiki was made so much smoother thanks to the amazing staff, especially Sierra at the front desk and Tyler from valet. Sierra went above and beyond to help us adjust our stay due to a family medical emergency. She handled everything with such care, professionalism, and empathy. In a stressful moment, she truly made us feel supported and helped get us settled quickly and comfortably. Tyler was also incredibly kind and attentive. Every interaction we had with him was welcoming and efficient — he made coming and going a breeze, and his positive attitude really stood out. Both Sierra and Tyler are wonderful examples of top-notch hospitality. We’re so grateful for the care they showed us and will absolutely return because of them. Thank you both!

I stayed here for a solo trip and cannot wait until I can return!! The staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant! The room was amazing and it was nice and quiet so I never was disturbed by another guest opening or closing their doors in the same hall. The food was great, as well as the coffee bar. I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Earlier this month, I made my first trip to Hawaii ever. Considering it was my first time going to Hawaii, I wanted to make sure I chose the best place to stay. This is especially true considering how expensive everything is. I am extremely happy to say I was fully satisfied at The Laylow, Autograph Collection hotel. The hotel itself is centrally located to almost everything in Waikiki. The Hideout is a restaurant located onsite, but if you venture out you'll have access to many restaurants, cafe's and coffee shops within walking distance. The beach is a short 10 minute walk that anybody can do. Don't feel pressured to stay at a hotel that is 'on the water' considering how close The Laylow is. The rooms themselves are clean, modern, functional and easily accessible. Two elevators run all day taking patrons up & down. The bathroom is always something I pay particular attention to and the bathroom at The Laylow is top notch. It's large, cozy and most importantly, private. You ever been to a hotel where the door barely closes and the wall is a thin piece of tempered glass? I have, and when you're with other people, isn't private at all. That's not the case here. So if you're like me and enjoy a sealed bathroom experience, book here! Rooms were cleaned daily and the A/C worked as it should. You can adjust the settings easily at the thermostat. The fitness center and pool were always open, easily accessible, clean and operational. I recommend getting to the fitness center early as it is quite small and machines can fill up quickly. The staff were always friendly and helpful. No complaints with the service at all. Overall, I was very happy with my stay at the Laylow, Autograph Collection. I highly recommend this hotel to everybody and will hopefully be a destination spot for me on my future travels to Hawaii.

Yelp
I should have reserved this hotel to begin with. They were incredibly attentive and accommodating for our last minute booking and decided to upgrade us because they empathized with our disaster booking at a nearby hotel. The suite itself is spectacular, nailing mid-century modern with pops of color and the space feels like a home. Every granular detail of the room was thoughtfully designed to be a space you want to stay in, and nothing disappointed. The staff was excellent, and Suzanne went the extra mile to make our stay more relaxing. I appreciate this hotel community and I would highly recommend this be the first hotel you check out in Oahu!

Yelp
We have stayed here twice, once when attending a niece's graduation from UofH Law School and a nephew's show in Downtown Honolulu. The 2nd time was for a dear friend's 65th Birthday. It has a very chill and trendy vibe. The patio off the main lobby has nightly entertainment and a faux beach/sandy vibe with outdoor fire pits. This area served as a great gathering place for my friend's 65th Birthday. We had close to 25 folks and we sat in the semi-circle area on one side with room for more. A patio bar served great for either an afternoon cocktail or one after sunset to listen to some good music. The environment is great for a good time with friends. The rooms are modern. The hotel itself sits on Kuhio and is close to the beach and center of Waikiki.

Yelp
Excellent location and awesome staff at this hotel! It had been a while since we've been back to the island of Oahu. Our 7 day stay at this hotel in mid June 2024 was great! The hotel itself is right next to the International Marketplace which has lots of shops and eating places. Also the well known Marugame Udon is right across the street from the hotel; Paia Fish Market is next door. Many thanks to Sierra at the front desk for making our check in process go so smoothly. Our room on the 14th floor was perfectly situated and had a partial ocean view. Being on a high floor kept the street noise to a minimum. We rested well! Also, we loved our welcome package! Our room upon arrival was clean and in order and staff really paid attention to our requests for an extra blanket, pillows, etc. Charlie cleaned/refreshed our room the whole week and Ferdinand delivered items we requested. Both were extremely friendly and easy to talk to. The valet guys were also great to work with. Hotel, pool, restaurant, fitness area were all maintained and kept clean. Elevators were fast and had no issues throughout our stay. Definitely a top notch hotel and we will make sure to choose this hotel again the next time we return to this beautiful island! Thank you to all who made our stay so wonderful and perfect!

Yelp
...Great location in Waikiki....a very nice stay here a few weeks back. We were fortunate to have a room on the south side so that we could see the ocean from the balcony. The din of the HVAC units all over and the sirens and city stuff is not their fault. Service was generally good all over...good pool gym and eatery which I will not review separately (try to Ahi sandwich though). One downside about check in. We arrived on a slow day an hour before check in and were offered some sort of a gamble-$25 to see if a room was ready. What? We declined, I drank a beer and we ambled back over and checked in. Also be careful to check the towel check in/out protocols so you need not challenge these fees as I had to.

Debbie E.

Yelp
I arrived in mid April 2024 early check in with the manager Ashley she was very welcoming. I informed Ashley I had to do some work emails before I head to the beach and she let me do early check in at 10am. I had a top floor room 1503, my room was king bed and very spacious. I loved the decor and the bed was very comfortable. The bath room lighting was very warm and the shower wood was modern totally my style. I used the desk to send some Work emails before I headed to the beach to tan and swim. I have been to Oahu, Hawaii 3 times but this hotel was by far my favorite. I went to the bar a few times and ever sever was very friendly and the food and drinks are so Delicious. The very bery hibiscus. drink was strong but delicious. I enjoyed breakfast at the hotel was very pleasant and I would definitely recommend trying their Hideout breakfast and dinner. Please enjoy my pictures and definitely try this hotel and restaurant.

Yelp
5 Stars!! This lux hotel is situated perfectly next to the International Market and plenty of other restaurants and stores within walking distance. Check-in and parking was seamless. As a Marriott member, I was upgraded on arrival, which was unexpected. Ended up in floor 14/16 with views of city and ocean. All staff we engaged with were super hospitable. They have daily activities for the kids (lei making, crafts, snow cones, etc) which are legit and included with cost of stay, unlike most adjoining properties. The restaurant, coffee bar and pool were perfect. None were crowded and got in right away and had awesome meals every time. The hotel itself seems new. Tropical feel and you can feel the Aloha vibes, making the transition from work to vacation a sinch! We stayed at a famous property beach front and would choose this one over and over. It's .3 miles from the ocean and an easy walk. Staying near the ocean wasn't an option because of the noise (alarms, music, racing, screaming, etc) so we stayed a bit away and have no regrets. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
More like a 3.75 starts. This cute little boutique hotel is conveniently located right next door to the International Market Place on Kuhio Avenue. It was renovated from an old hotel in 2017, so most of the hotel looks pretty good. However you can tell they cut corners on certain areas of the hotel that makes you feel that it's not a brand new hotel. It's the little things that gave you the feeling of that, I just can't name every little detail, but if you stay there, you'll understand. Cute ambiance for lobby, The Hideout restaurant, bar, lounge on the weekend. The pool is tiny the views are of a building and some of the rooms. The rooms are pretty clean and nicely decorated. Beds were comfy, AC worked well and didn't turn off in the middle of the night. Housekeeping was really friendly and fantastic. Mini fridge only kept drinks cold, don't expect to keep food safe with this fridge. Patio was tiny and was facing a parking structure. Toiletries were those big bottles, but it seemed pretty secure and tamper resistant. Great welcome basket with 2 pairs of flip flops, 2 water bottles, a rubber ducky, chocolates, & 2 Maui Style Maui Onion chips (big plus!). You can fill up your water bottles downstairs with water or sparkling water. The water dispensers didn't seem to clean to me and the water tasted fine, but not great. No ice machines on each floor, but there were bagged iced in the freezer in the same are downstairs for use. A microwave was available as well. Loved that they had free lei making, water color painting, as well as free shave ice and fruit by the pool. Parking is only valet at $60/night. A big plus they got us in a couple hours early. Live music during the evenings and a DJ at night on the weekends.

Yelp
Stayed for two nights at The Laylow on the tail end of our honeymoon vacation here in Oahu. We arrived earlier than check-in and the hotel was kind enough to have valet hold our bags until the room was ready for us. We pre-checked in at the desk at 12:00pm and was given the flyer with hotel information and was told they would call once the room was ready. Although we didn't receive a call, I was told it was ready via text around 1:30pm because I had been in communication with the front desk staff through the Bonvoy app because I wanted to confirm a late checkout request I had called about eight months prior. Side story: When I initially booked this hotel 8 months ago (yes, I booked our stay back in June 2023), I had called front desk and asked if they can accommodate late checkout. The person I spoke to at the time said they can give us a 4pm complimentary checkout. I was thrilled and moved on with my life. Well, bummer, the lady I spoke to never wrote it down on our reservation so the conversation basically didn't exist. Luckily, Jace the guy that helped us check in was kind enough to not only give us a complimentary 2pm checkout, but he also upgraded our room to a corner suite on a high floor for our honeymoon. THANK YOU JACE!! When we entered our room, we received a welcome basket filled with awesome goodies and wine in an ice bucket surrounded by fresh flowers and a handwritten note from the staff congratulating us on our marriage. The personal touch they have done to make our stay special is so sweet and has been the best experience in our two week trip to Hawaii. The bed, the pillows, and the couch were all comfortable. The shower head could be a little bit stronger but the hotel room itself is extremely clean. Our first night here I got abruptly woken up by a 6:00am alarm I didn't set on the bedside clock and it took me a couple of times to figure out how to turn it off. I thought I figured it out, but I guess I pressed snooze and it woke me up a second time not too long after. I'd double check the digital clock when staying here just in case if you're looking for a good nights sleep. TV has YouTube and Netflix, which other hotels don't have. I love having this option because I can stream shows instead of being stuck watching cable TV. Daily Activities: I missed out on the activities during my stay here. I was really looking forward to the Lei making activity because I had never worn one before. I believe it was scheduled for 10-11am Friday but when I made it downstairs a little before 10:30, they were halfway through and there were no available stations left for me to be able to join in the activity. By the time space had opened up, they had ran out of flowers. Parking: Valet is not necessary, self park at Hyatt Centric Garage instead for $45/day vs $60/valet. The entrance is a short walk to the left and elevators are between Nordstrom and Enterprise. It's quicker than waiting for valet to bring your car. Parking garage is off of Seaside Ave to enter with your vehicle. Should I ever return to Oahu in the future, I would definitely stay here for a couple of nights over the other surrounding hotels. I found this place because many other visitors split their time in Oahu by staying at The Laylow and Surfjack. You can skip Surfjack, they have free parking but what you get is a dusty hotel room. Invest your money in a quality hotel which is The Laylow. It's a great location and walking distance to everything you need in the area.

Yelp
I won a stay at the Lay Low Hotel from the International Marketplace in Waikiki. It took almost a year to book because I thought it was just an old hotel that would be dated. We booked the room for this weekend which happened to be the same weekend as the Honolulu Marathon. Waikiki was very busy with tourists and runners from all over the world staying in town. We checked in on Friday and was pleased that we were given a room upgrade to a higher floor. I was impressed with the room, the staff and activities. We were escorted to the elevator by one of the front desk staff/managers Shown their pool area, Water dispenser and microwave on the lobby level. The location is excellent, right next to the International Marketplace, right across the street from Maru game Udon. Valet parking is on the left side of the building. Packing was over $50 per night. They have restaurants in the building, Paia Fish, Tex 808, The Hideout restaurant. I missed out on activities put on by the hotel, free shave ice, origami class and Lei making. Don't miss out, book a room with them, they are part of the Marriott family.

Yelp
Nice hotel The Laylow Autograph collection part of the Marriott. Nice room very clean and comfortable and nice walk it shower with all the amenities. Body wash , shampoo, conditioner. Very comfortable king size beds low to the ground easy to get off and very comfortable pillows and mattress. In the lobby their restaurant hideaway nice little bar at night and serving breakfast, lunch , dinner . With life entertainment at night . Conveniently located right on Kuhio in the heart of Waikiki . Walking distance to everything especially the International Market place . Valet parking also available. Also comes with a complimentary basket with 2 pairs of slippers 2 water bottles and 2 Maui chips. What a deal and I really like the shower it has full size shampoo and conditioner not the small bottles like most hotels . Next time in Waikiki I'll be back to stay here Support local

Yelp
We love staycations and were excited about trying out the Laylow. It's in a great location in Waikiki and their rooms looked cute. The check in process was a nightmare though.. We checked in like normal and they gave us the key. We go up to the room, open the door, and the room is occupied! Luckily they weren't in the room at the time. We went back down to talk to the front desk and they said their system had been "glitching". We had to wait about an 60-90 for a new room to be available. When we finally got the keys to our second room, we enter and see that it's not cleaned yet. We had to talk to front desk, again, and finally got an empty and clean room on the 3rd try. Yikes. Other than that, our stay our fine. Nothing else to complain about but no true highlights either. Other than Their restaurant, the Hideout, having delicious food. Sorry to say, but I don't think that this place is worth the price especially after our first experience with check in.

Yelp
We really enjoyed this hotel! So aesthetically pleasing and such a fun atmosphere. The check in was smooth and the bar and entertainment was a nice touch. The room was clean and had fun decor. The pool was really nice and we loved the free shave ice at certain times! The Laylow is in a great location and walking distance to many restaurants and shops and just minutes from the beach. My husband and I really enjoyed it and will likely stay when back in the area. Also, we loved the welcome basket!

Yelp
An absolutely underrated gem in the heart of Oahu! After a bad stay at another Autograph hotel in Kauai that cost nearly double what the Laylow charges (Koloa Landing, stay far away), I realized I never got around to reviewing this property. You could not find better value for the price on the island. You're immediately welcomed by beautiful accents in the room and a fun complementary basket of water bottles, sandals, and snacks. It's not on the beach, but a very quick walk away and surrounded by THE best eats in Waikiki. This is the place to be in Oahu and we couldn't believe we were surrounded by it all. Such a charming hotel and I can't wait to get back to it!

Yelp
We stayed here for 5 nights during February 2023. The lobby is very busy here as it is an open area. Quite a few positives I would mentioned: Perfect location in Waikiki - walking distance to many restaurants Orchids and hairpins provided at check-in daily Welcome basket with different snacks, water bottles, and flip flops Friendly valet Umbrellas provided during the rainy days Easy check in/out for beach towels self -serve water, sparkling water, and microwave on the 1st floor. They have free shaved ice and lei making classes, but we seemed to always miss it. Comfortable bed We only used housekeeping once during our 5 nights stay, but whenever we requested extra items like blanket or towels we got it within minutes. The only con I would say is the lobby cafe, we were there early one morning and they actually sell day old pastries. If you don't need to be right on the beach, definitely stay here for all the amenities and wonderful location.

Yelp
My husband and I just enjoyed 6 nights at The Laylow for our honeymoon. We both loved our stay, and agreed we will be staying here again the next time we are on O'ahu. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, but especially Joey at the front desk. He checked us in after a long day of travel and he was just so nice and upbeat. He answered a few questions we had and overall just had such great energy. We booked a corner suite that was awesome. We weren't too high up, so we could hear some noise outside, but it was mostly on Friday and Saturday night. Our bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The bathroom was also a good size which I appreciate. The onsite amenities like the water dispenser and complementary beach towels were a huge bonus and really added to our stay. The location can't be beat. We could walk everywhere we wanted to. We walked to Waikiki beach a couple times, and there are lots of great restaurants nearby. Also, having the ABC store literally next door was a huge plus. Since we didn't check any bags, we needed to buy SPF once we got to Hawaii. We were able to get that along with some other toiletries we needed, plus they have a large selection of prepared food and drinks. The onsite restaurant The Hideout had a great breakfast menu. We ate there 3 times during our stay we loved it so much lol. We had such a wonderful time, we couldn't have asked for a better experience for our honeymoon. Thank you Laylow for making it unforgettable!

Yelp
Service: 5/5. They were fast, responsive, and thoughtful. We were gifted with a basket of snacks, beach slippers, and cute water bottles. They also have a hydration station on each floor to refill your water bottles. Whenever we needed something, we would call, and they would deliver promptly. Atmosphere: 5/5. It's so cute and dainty, tropical, and just overall lovely. We had the corner suite and I loved the views. We even got to catch a lightning show from our room on one of the nights. Restaurant: 5/5. The Hideout bar/restaurant was surprisingly loud, even though there was a small amount of groups there chatting during breakfast. The food was good, the drinks are great. They often have live entertainment at night. They also have a coffee shop, but I didn't get to try it. Location: 5/5. It's in the heart of Waikiki, with many shops and restaurants nearby. And about 2-3 blocks away from the beach. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Laylow. I would definitely stay again if I were to re-visit this island.

Yelp
Having briefly lived in Hawaii in the past and being someone who loves the uniqueness of each state or country, Laylow provided the exact experience I was seeking. Despite my short stay, it left a lasting impression. What set it apart were the unique events they hosted. I had the opportunity to customize my own Hawaiian Shave Ice and learn the art of making a lei with flowers which holds significant cultural importance in Hawaii. Leis are given a warm way in welcoming people. The act of presenting someone with a lei signifies deep affection, love, or respect, making it a common practice to give in different occasions. Many leis are crafted from flowers, shells, or other natural materials, symbolizing a connection to nature and the vibrant beauty of the Hawaiian islands. A staff member even provided me with a thoughtful tour. In terms of feedback, consistency in service levels among all staff members would enhance the overall experience. While complimentary items were a nice touch, the flip flops, unfortunately, caused discomfort. Overall, I would consider visiting again and even explore other hotels with the same brand.

Yelp
Very pleasant stay like always, staff always welcomes me by my last name. They remember me and take care of me every time. Starts with good management, Ashley is the best with hospitality and make sure every guest is happy. Joey at the front desk is very good at his job. Christie in the restaurant is very sweet and goes above a beyond. Klarissa working the coffee counter is top notch, shes very fast and always moving to get orders done, she's very good at her job. The nightly music is definitely the best on the island, always enjoy being at this hotel with the vibes, food and customer service. It's not a beach front hotel, but I'd rather have a better stay than anything. Thanks for all you guys do.

Yelp
Enjoyed our stay at The Laylow. Plus because of it being apart of Marriot family. This hotel isn't right on the beach, but about a 5-15 minute walk to the Waikiki beach depending on what route you take and where you decide to stay on the beach. They provide beach towels that you can request to use. In terms of service, the staff is great and answer any questions for you. From 1-2 daily, they provide free shaved ice and you could choose many flavors. The rooms are spacious and they do a good job of cleaning daily for you. If you rented a car, valet is $52/day, which seemed pretty normal compared to the other hotels around the area. IMO, we are very happy with this choosing. Even though, there are other hotels you can stay at literally on the beach. I liked that this wasn't on the beach, because it brought the noise level down throughout the day, and less people/traffic walking through the hotel as well. Also got a free room upgrade because of being a Marriot Gold member!

Yelp
This is an old school Waikiki Hotel that has morphed into a hipster hotel. You can find fancier, you can find newer but not friendlier! The rooms are mid mid-century modern a la Hawaii. We have a corner room with two balconies. This is about 4 blocks from the beach but an easy stroll to get sand between your toes. Here's the thing, the staff is truly welcoming. We had the most effusive front desk agent for our 6:30pm check in on 5/30. We had a great server and trainee for breakfast at the Hideout on 5/31. We are Marriott people so our rate included two $15 vouchers for breakfast for each day of our stay. Cappuccino, coffee, avo toast, steel cut oatmeal and a fruit bowl after our coupons was all of $24. Yay us! Flip flops, chips and re-useable water bottles for everyone!

Yelp
Cute ambience not far walk from the beach. A block a way from the Surfside Moana which is the more expensive marriott nearby with beach access. They gave us a cute welcome basket with refillable water bottles. Each floor comes with filtered or sparkling water refill stations. We had a room with a balcony which wasn't too large but comfortable enough to sit and relax on however it is in downtown waikiki which is more of a city area. Close by to shopping and restaurants.

Yelp
This is the perfect place to retreat to when in Waikiki. It perfectly balances the crazy vibe of the city and gives a calm place to return at the end of the day or for a rest between activities. The vibe is mid century modern Hawaiian surf chic. Trendy yet accessible. I loved getting coffee downstairs in the early morning when I was awake way too early. Kaci was awesome and friendly and deserves a special shout out. Anyone who can make you smile before coffee has a gift. The shave ice in the afternoon was great for the kids, the water filling station was a great touch and the lobby was a great place to chill for a few minutes. The concierge helped up set up fun afternoon activities and the Hideout had great service and (expensive) but good food.

Yelp
Loved the location of the Laylow Hotel. Its very central to the heart of Waikiki and next to the International market place so there's a bunch of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel only has valet which is convenient but it's $49 a night. Very easy to call from your room and then your car will be ready within 10-15 minutes much better than looking for parking if you ask me. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was very curious about the set up since my room had two kings although the room seemed kind of tight it still was a lot of room had a desk, nice sized closet and very large bathroom. Beautifully decorated, very clean, very comfortable bed, nice sized balcony overlooking the pool. Appreciated the welcome gift which had snacks hand sanitizer and even two pairs of flip-flops. Pool is a little small but nice lounging area. The beach is nearby so didn't mind that much. They also have some hotel activities lei making, ukulele lessons, shaved ice by the pool. They also have a water filling station for room temp, cold and and sparking water which was unique. As a Marriott titanium member I received vouchers for daily breakfast which is always a plus. The restaurant Hideout also has a happy hour and live music. A bigger plus. Overall I enjoyed my stay and definitely would go back.

Yelp
Great location and the rooms are comfortable. Great beds and showers. The pool is on the small side (very deceptive from the photos on their website) but we spent most days on the beach. I really liked the fact that we were staying in the heart of Waikiki.

Yelp
8/10 (curved up to 5 stars for purposes of Yelp ratings). Overall, a good experience. Location is great for someone who doesn't need or want to be right on the beach but still wants to be in the Waikiki area. Service was consistently friendly and helpful. Would stay again if in Waikiki area. Some pros - Location! During the day, lots of natural lighting as an entire wall of the Junior Suite was window. Two balconies. A fun and useful welcome basket with flip flops, reusable water bottles, snacks and more. Daily shaved ice was an appropriate local touch. Restaurant had good food that, if an elite member, was heavily subsidized for breakfast. Our floor (maybe every floor?) had free water and sparkling water dispensing stations to refill water bottles with, which was super useful. Some cons - Room was as advertised, though could use a bit of a touchup (some signs of wear and age, and the bathroom door wouldn't fully close) and had a few questionable design choices (no way to lock/keep bathroom door shut, many lights in room yet a lack of lighting when window shades were closed).

Yelp
I love staying at the Laylow and so so often. It has a terrific staff and wonderful ambience. The decor is Hawaiian Mid Century Modern. The rooms are very nice. The restaurant is very nice and serves lovely food.

Yelp
On the positive side, the hotel ideally placed-close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. No car needed! The room was spacious and nicely decorated with a cool mid century vibe. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. One the negative side, our room faced a parking structure so we had no privacy. We were also in a lower floor and our room constantly smelled of restaurant exhaust. It was like living above a Dennys. Given the price, I was disappointed.

Yelp
Stayed 6 nights in their 2 kings so called "Lanai" room, it's actually a view of the parking garage with previous customer's hair and stain still on the bathroom wall, an A/C unit that make cranking noise every time it releases cool air, you get woken up to the delivery truck noise every early morning when you are supposed to be sound asleep, some waiter at the Hideout acts like he doesn't want to be there. Doesn't want to provide me with any utensils for my breakfast until asked and they obviously can't even make a macchiato. The only good this about this hotel is its location but for about $400 minimum/night? Go spend your money elsewhere

Yelp
My spouse and I had an amazing time staying here. The location can't be beat as it's pretty much right in the middle of everything. Hotel has a cool modern vibe which we liked very much. We stayed on the opposite side of the pool which was much more quiet so keep that in mind when booking if that's an issue. Shawn at the front was beyond great at the front desk and always had a friendly smile on his face. The staff is amazing. I wish the bar didn't close mid day though so I'd think about that as an opportunity since the outdoor second level terrace is quite nice. Cheers!

Yelp
I dont like leaving anyone a bad review if it's never too much to tolerate. First check in was not welcoming - I was trying to see if they do early check in but they don't but thats ok I understand that room might not be available but the guy mentioned they would call when the room becomes available, No i didnt receive any call from them. So around 5ish am in the morning , my room smells all food through the ac I called the front desk the lady answered and said maybe because of the restaurant has opened thats why your room smells all the cooking food. Im like Are you serious? She says only Sorry and let me call back around 7 am to talk to someone else. The only option for me is to stay in the room and keep smelling the food or pack my bag and come down and wait for the next room when someone check out. Girl this is 5 am in the morning. I am not sure what to say anymore !!! I won't come back & will tell all friends to stay away. Sorry Lay Low you guys are not a cheap hotel , you are not worth the price - the teams , bathroom door with no lock , and the smell.

Yelp
Me and my daughter were visiting and stayed at the Hilton in Waikiki. We stumbled across this amazing place because they had live music . We followed the music that was coming from the rooftop pool. We asked to be seated to listen to the music and ordered an appetizer with virgin drinks for my daughter and a gimlet for myself. The server was a very nice gentleman who was so accommodating with us. There was a Karen sitting across from us lol who was so rude and he was so patient and had excellent customer service. I observed what she was saying and he never once had an attitude or changed his demeanor for her rude comments. Next time we visit I plan to stay here because of the service me and my daughter experienced. Thank you to the gentlemen I forgot his name and wish I remembered. The atmosphere was comfortable and clean.

Yelp
Stayed here cause the pool looked nice but didn't even ended up in the pool lol. Very modern place. The beds were really low. Nice shower. They do valet parking only. Pretty close to the strip of Waikiki.

Yelp
Overall, I recommend this hotel. My husband and I stayed two nights without our kids to enjoy grownup time. The aesthetic was cool and atmosphere relaxed. We loved laying in the pool lounge chairs, but didn't love the meat odors wafting up from the BBQ restaurant nearby. Also didn't love how tiny the pool actually is. It looks small online, and I assumed there wouldn't be many kids around, but there were a few preschoolers and their parents on one day and they pretty much took up the whole space. We enjoyed the lei making activity and free shave ice. Very nice touches.

Yelp
Besides the amazing Hawaiian/ mid-mod aesthetic, we had the worst time staying at this hotel. Pros: - thoughtful gift basket - clean - friendly staff - location Cons: - NOISY ROOM (901) next to elevator - bed felt like an old futon mattress - bathroom door has no lock, opens on its own - long wait for elevator We were unfortunate enough to be assigned room 901- a room literally next to the elevator. Idk if something was up with it but it sounded like someone pounding on our wall every time it was in use. I'm not one to usually complain about noise at hotels, but this unrelenting racket was going on at all hours of the day/ night. Couldn't relax in the room or sleep well at all. (Recorded the noise, but it's not giving me the option to upload it.) Tried to ask for a room change, but they told us the only other available suite would be noisy as well. Couldn't check out fast enough from this place. Wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend if looking for a relaxing stay in Waikiki.

Yelp
Not what you should expect for room rate. First unit had a broken motor. They moved me to a new room and filter way passed replacement timeframe to point it made a high pitch noise. Thought I was at motel 6 for a moment.

Yelp
This spot is a fantastic option to rest and unwind from a busy day in Waikiki. Fire pit with a roof top bar on the 3rd floor. We didn't try the food we only enjoyed the music and refreshing drinks. Next time we will stop in we will try a appetizer or two.

Yelp
There are many little extras that make the Laylow a great choice for the Waikiki area, beginning with the warm and friendly staff. They welcome you with a cup of pineapple and are always there to graciously help you with any need that might arise. When you walk into the room, you'll find a generous gift basket: flip flops, refillable water bottles (really cute ones!) chocolate, snacks, sanitizing wipes, masks, water, and a cute rubber duck. Another one of the little extras they offer is free shave ice by the pool every day at 1 p.m. All of those added touches plus the kind employees make this a very special hotel. The room itself is very nice. I think ours was upgraded to a corner suite, so it was extra spacious, with a separate sitting and eating area, mini fridge and even more couches to sit on. I loved that they had a full length mirror - nice if you're trying to get ready while someone is in the bathroom. The hotel has great walkability to many restaurants and stores nearby. However, the beach is not that close. Unfortunately, I have to dock a star due to the awful mattress they have. We're talking the kind where you get a lousy night's sleep every night and wake up with a backache kind of mattress. This is a big problem on vacation when you want to wake up early and run around the island on adventures all day, returning tired. If the Laylow could invest in better mattresses I feel like they'd deserve a five star rating overall.

Yelp
Our check in was at 3pm, we got there at 3:25pm. The man who originally pre-checked us in, I believe his name was Shawn. He had no care in the world and was very UNPROFESSIONAL that our room wasn't ready yet. We were traveling with two tired toddlers, so we needed to be checked in already so our babies could nap. Anyway, we sat and waited. The amazing, nice, sweet, very generous, very PROFESSIONAL, caring front desk worker JOEY was AWESOME! He saw how his co-worker Shawn was handling this situation and quickly stepped in to correct his co-worker. He had a room ready for us right away and checked us in and even gave us a later check-out for the inconvenience. JOEY deserves a raise and appreciation for his hard work and dedication to customer service. We will definitely be staying at the laylow again thanks to JOEY.

Yelp
This was amazing! Really loved the vibe, the convenience of the hotel as well. The food was amazing, drinks were even better (get the mai tai!), staff was EXTREMELY HELPFUL (shoutout to manager Ashley! Give that one a raise). Valet guys were great, especially for recommendations! The live music was a really nice touch. Highly recommend and Tell A Friend!

Yelp
What a hidden gem!! The location, the people, the room... it was AWESOME. From when we checked in to all of our interactions with the staff it was AMAZING. And given these times - they have in place all the hand sanitizers, notes on the elevators that only 2 per elevator or one family. Made me feel so much more comfortable!! And every time you went by the front desk to the elevator you are greeted warmly and we even had nice chats with the front desk! OH and when you get to your room - there's a nice welcome basket welcoming you - with candy, water bottles, extra masks, water... can't remember what else... it's that little EXTRA that makes a huge difference!! OH and you can fill up water bottles at the gift shop even when they weren't open - the front desk would open up the shop to help us fill up our water bottles with their fruit infused cold water. They fill it in a separate cup and then fill up your bottle to be safe. They thought of everything!! The Laylow is right across the street from Marugame Udon so we would just look out our balcony to check on the line and head over once it formed! :) It's down half a block from Kona Coffee Purveyor where you get the most DELICIOUS deep flavorful coffee and amazing pastries!! OH and it's right at the International Market! On the other direction you have Dukes Lane and Basalt... Walking distance to SO MANY places! LOVE LOVE LOVED it. We didn't use the pool but sat out there one day for a bit and they have nice chairs and a beautiful pool. The Hideaway is right there on the property - OH and they have different activities through out the day - like you can get shaved ice daily... ukulele lessons.. I can't remember the rest but they give you a schedule... If you do have a car - it was $30 a day to park - they have a valet or you can self park underneath or outside... it was so convenient. We didn't get to stay long - just 3 nights and then moved to Ko Olina but next time we're staying longer... Did I tell you our room had an ukulele?

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for a weekend get away for our anniversary. We loved it! Awesome location clean rooms, the pool was heated, Hideaway restaurant on site was great for breakfast and evening drinks. Customer service was great. I will be staying here again

Yelp
I have fallen in love with Autograph Collection hotels, thanks to The Laylow. The vibes are out of this world. Our trip was made perfect because of Joey. We love him! He upgraded our room since our original one wasn't ready at check-in. A corner suite on a high floor - fabulous! Our room was spacious and so trendy. And most importantly, everything was CLEAN! There was a complimentary basket with snacks, flip-flops, and souvenir cups. And in the closet, there were comfy robes (wishing I could have purchased one!). They thought about ALL the details when designed this hotel. Kicking myself since I didn't take more photos than this, as I love flipping through pictures. But it was so enjoyable that I didn't even think to pull out my phone. The pool was perfect and we loved spending our evenings at the Hideout. The location is also prime - close to so many places to shop and eat. I hope you get to experience The Laylow!

Yelp
Nice clean hotel with bar and restaurant. It's obviously a older building that has been renovated some what recently. Lots restaurants nearby and only about a ten minute walk to Waikiki beach. But be aware rooms do not have coffee makers. Otherwise they have modern tvs etc. They decorated in a somewhat eclectic style. Older furnishings and at least in our case, a corner room, a lot of wasted space with sort of a dining area hidden away. Not sure what it was like originally. The restaurant was ok, but not outstanding at all.

Yelp
Love everything at this hotel, this is my first time to stay at this hotel but I know I will come back in the future. Clean and pretty environment, friendly staffs with smiles all the time, thank you Laylow for giving me a very unforgettable time :) !

Yelp
This was my first time ever staying here and it probably won't be my last. I love how convenient this hotel location is to the Waikiki strip. Literally walking distance! Upon arrival we were greeted by the front desk team, they were all really friendly! Rita welcomed us and even brought us a special surprise when finding out we were celebrating our anniversary! This was on top of the nice gift basket that was already sitting in our room waiting for us. She was also super accommodating throughout our time there! Thank you, Rita! The valet team were also very quick and helpful with getting our vehicle in a timely manner. Thank you Brandon! So many great amenities that we were able to take advantage of here and they also have live music!

Yelp
The Laylow in Waikiki, Honolulu is a beautiful spot with a lively atmosphere. The decor and ambience were impressive, and the live music added to the overall vibe. However, while the food and drinks were decent, they were overpriced for the quality. The service was also not great, likely due to the busy environment. That being said, there was one drink that stood out and is definitely worth trying: the espresso martini with mac nut foam. It was a unique twist on a classic cocktail and the foam added an extra layer of richness to the drink. It was definitely the highlight of the night. Overall, The Laylow is a great spot for a night out with friends or a date, but be prepared to pay a premium for the atmosphere. If you're looking for high-quality food and drinks, there may be better options in the area.

Yelp
I absolutely loved my stay at the Laylow! The atmosphere and decor was so pretty. I stayed for four nights in a king bed room. Upon check in, I was greeted by an amazing employee who answered all of my questions and had the best service. Like always, you have to put a security deposit down of $100 per night. Our room was very clean and cozy! Loved the vintage hawaiian theme and the pink monstera wallpaper. This hotel is very "Instagrammable". I was very surprised to see a welcome basket on our bed that included, two flip flops, 2 water bottles, a rubber ducky, some hand sanitizing wipes and chocolate. We stayed on the third floor overlooking the pool. The pool area has two cabanas that you can lay under for free! The pool area looks very relaxing, but hard to relax when there's nothing but kids in the pool. Because of Covid, housekeeping does not come daily but if you download the Marriott bonvoy app, you can easily request for extra towels or anything you need within the app and they will come quick! The hotel serves coffee and breakfast over at the hideout restaurant in the lobby from 6am-10am I tried their eggs Benedict and their Laylow breakfast. Both were so delicious and the potatoes were BOMB!!! I love how this hotel is close to Waikiki beach and all of the shops around. If you have a car, they do have self parking but their actual parking lot is fairly small so you will have to park at the international market place parking garage in which the hotel will validate for you. It is a bit inconvenient but the walk is literally .2 miles away to get to your car at the parking garage. I appreciated the level of service from ALL staff that I had interacted with and will definitely stay at this hotel again next time I visit! Don't forget to check out their little gift shop! They have super cute tote bags and accessories that you can purchase.

Yelp
The husband and I ended our Hawai'i trip at The Laylow, which is a beautiful hotel with aesthetic pleasing design and decor. It is located centrally in Waikiki, which was great for grabbing food, shopping and walking to the beach, but I personally prefer to be away from all the hustle and bustle. Our room was spacious with nice and cute furniture that matches the vibe of the hotel perfectly. We were greeted with a thoughtful gift basket, consisting of chocolate, bottled water, and his/her flip flops. The bed was large and comfortable. However, the pillows were another story; they were too tall and stiff. Additionally, found some stains on the bedsheets, couches/seats, and curtains, as well as some crumbs on the tables. The restroom was nice and sleek. Toiletries were provided, along with cotton puffs, Q-tips, and makeup removers. Some of the towels provided reeked of bleach, which is nice to know they were washed but it was so strong that we couldn't use it. We had two balcony areas looking out to the pool and bar area. Appreciated the live music and DJ from the bar below, which we enjoyed from our room. Pool area was nice with a fair amount of seating, but I was so surprised by how small the pool was, granted most people spend their time at the beach. Overall, The Laylow was a nice place to end our trip. However, I don't think we will be returning, it just didn't seem worth it for what we were paying.

Yelp
Pros: 1. Walkable to Waikiki and other restaurants near there. It is super close to international market place. 2. They have a few programs throughout the day you can enjoy for free. 3. They provide free beach towels whenever you ask, just drop them off at the lobby before heading to your room. 4. When you go up to your room after check-in, there is a welcome basket with their signature (two) flip-flops, chocolates, bottles of water and etc. Cons: 1. They don't have ice and water machine in every floor but just one in the 1st floor so you have to go down every single time. 2. They don't have self-parking but its all valet parking that charges nearly $50 overnight. (Plus you have to tip them every time you get your car out.) 3. Water pressure is not that strong. Despite the cons, our family enjoyed staying there and are willing to stay if we visit Oahu again.
