I should have known better to eat here when we walked in and no one was in here at 6:30 PM on a Saturday night. First, the lemonades are pretty good, you can tell they are made fresh.
The food? I’m not sure what they are cooking on in the kitchen but our peel and eat shrimp came out so hot I grabbed one and dropped it because of the heat. No warning on the temperature. So that was nice. Once the shrimp came back to a normal earthy temperature, it was pretty tasty. We weren’t given any plates for sharing an appetizer so we used the last five napkins at our table as plates. I had jambalaya and I’ve had GOOD jambalaya, I know what it’s supposed to taste like. This was not what it’s supposed to taste like. No flavor, no spice. I even added a crap ton of hot sauce and that didn’t help. I got a side of southern coleslaw, again, that had to be out of a tub, because it was so salty! I took one bite and spit it out. My husband had the beef po boy and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was not fresh but he liked his sandwich. So yeah. No sense in going here if you like bland food!
I brought up the food issue to the server and she offered a new plate to go but no thanks. Paid our bill and left.
