We enjoyed our stay at the Leonard at Logan very much. The owners were kind and welcoming. The young woman who gave us a tour of the house when we arrived was very friendly and well-informed about the history of the house and the nearby houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The common rooms and garden were very pleasant. The bedroom was nicely appointed and very clean. The location is wonderful: in the middle of a beautiful historic neighborhood and within walking distance of excellent restaurants and bars.We were just sorry that our flight departure time didn't allow us to stay for breakfast. We did appreciate the alternatives that were available--the high-end espresso machine, the home-baked goods, and the homemade strawberry jam.

My husband and I absolutely LOVE staying at the Leonard at Logan. Ruth and Ken are amazing hosts. They are so friendly and thoughtful. There are always delicious snacks, treats, juices, pop, coffee available. The rooms are beautiful and comfy. It is in a great location--close to everything. If you feel like staying in, there are plenty of games in the downstairs living area. We have stayed 4 times in 4 different rooms and have no complaints. I can't think of enough good things to say about this place!!! It's a gem!

Ken and Ruth are very kind and welcoming hosts. They make you feel right at home. Both my partner and I have a dairy allergy, and the host was incredibly thoughtful in accommodating our needs. She prepared a delicious dairy-free raspberry tart, a sweet flan-like dish, and an asparagus and pepper tart — all dairy-free. The spread also included scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, and fresh fruit. We loved the 24/7 coffee bar and the variety of snacks available. The rooms are clean, cozy, and full of charm. Highly recommend!

My husband and I were in town and selected the inn to spend the night. Honestly, I have almost given up on b&bs because I’ve had so many experiences that didn’t leave me with a good feeling. That wasn’t my experience here: Ruth and Ken have hosting down to a science and genuinely seem as though they enjoy it! They strike the perfect balance of being friendly without being overbearing, being catering without making you feel uncomfortable. ||The house is absolutely beautiful and situated in a historical and striking neighborhood. We stayed in the St Charles room - it was elegantly decorated with a masculine flair. The bed was comfortable. The old floors are very creaky so don’t expect to quietly get up in the middle of the night!||All the food we had was outstanding - which can be a rarity at Bnbs. There are homemade cookies, scones and muffins to snack on, chocolates, and a huge variety of cold sodas and coffee drinks available 24/7. ||We loved it! Would not hesitate to stay here again and the price made it a better option than a hotel. If you are coming into town, this is an excellent and well located option.

The breakfast here felt like Thanksgiving. There were no fewer than seven options on the official buffet, with yogurt & fixins in the dining room. This is in addition to the 24/7 coffee & tea station and at least three cake servers filled with cookies and muffins. I'm still kicking myself for not sampling the sweets on our arrival. The neighborhood is neat (almost directly across the street from a Frank Lloyd Wright creation) and very close to downtown without the noise. Oddly, the windows in our room didn't open, but we had great fans (and building-wide AC?) that kept the temperature at a great level. The bathroom is pristine but the shower is the star -- it's huge with two heads and a seat, and if you put your clothes WAY to the side, you can dry off and dress in there too and everything stays dry. (This is the Lady Ann room.) Grand Rapids is just far enough that return trips are easy, but driving home is juuuust a bit much for one day. Probably a good idea to book a room and stay for breakfast. ;)

We absolutely loved our stay at The Leonard at Logan House. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming—they even waited for us to check in late, greeting us with a smile. Our room was spotless and charmingly decorated, making it feel like a cozy retreat. Each morning, we were treated to an incredible hot breakfast with a rotating menu—everything was delicious and made with care. The other guests were so friendly, which made the experience feel even more special. The house is in a beautiful, historic neighborhood that's perfect for walking and exploring. The hosts gave us great recommendations for local food and shopping around Grand Rapids, which we really appreciated. We would return again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this gem of a stay!

The Leonard at Logan House is a beautiful mansion in the Heritage Hill neighborhood of Grand Rapids. It was built by Harry Leonard in 1914 after he made his fortune selling cleanable enamel coated iceboxes. The hosts, Ken and Ruth are truly hospitable. The breakfast was a gourmet feast of several courses, and Ruth accommodated our early departure on the last morning by getting up early to get the cooking done in time. The common areas are gorgeous and spacious. There are snacks and drinks available 24/7. Our room was lovely and the double shower was a treat. If you are in Grand Rapids, do yourself a favor and stay here!

This is a beautiful house with wonderful accommodations and amenities, a truly relaxing environment. I have stayed here before and it is now my go to in Grand Rapids. The beds are so comfortable and the home made breakfast is yummy. There is a snack bar with beverages available 24/7, at no additional charge and nice pastries always available in the dining room. The house is in a quiet neighborhood yet close to restaurants, downtown, as well as other places of interest. I simply cannot say enough good things about this lovely house.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Leonard for his birthday weekend in January. Our room was lovely and I'm surprised that no one has raved about the heated bathroom floors! Maybe that's normal for Northerners but this Southern girl really appreciated them! The brunches were amazing - we didn't need to eat again until 4 pm. The baked French toast, as others have mentioned, was phenomenal. We also appreciated the 24/7 snack area for hot chocolate and munchies after sightseeing in the snow! Ken and Ruth were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, making our stay that much nicer! Perfect place for a cozy getaway.

Yelp
This is my fourth time here and just love the home and the area! The breakfast is amazing and the gardens are so lovely to sit in. All of the hosts are welcoming and friendly. My only negative feedback is the coffee. It used to be so wonderful but they got a new latte/coffee machine and it's not very good. I tried a couple things different days and none were good. Thankfully I drink tea but I know the other guests weren't too thrilled with it either. So, just a mention in case there is some way to get the old coffee maker back!

Yelp
I can't say enough wonderful things about my stay. HANDS DOWN best overall experience anywhere. The amenities were out of this world. Every detail was so perfectly planned out. The owners are such lovely people that were so welcoming and accommodating. Do you self a favor and book a room with them!

Yelp
A great place to stay in Grand Rapids. Friendly hosts, excellent amenities, comfortable room, complete access to the main floor, snacks and drinks provided round the clock, and an excellent hot breakfast. A better experience than the hotels I've stayed at in the area. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We spent two nights here. warm welcome and a nice tour of the property to start. We were given advice on local dinning and area features. Our room was extremely clean (Princess Cecile). The entire house was amazing and very welcoming. There was always great treats out to snack on. Breakfast both mornings was amazing. The owners were warm and friendly and you could tell they took great pride in their Inn. Thank you fir a great stay, we'll be back.

Yelp
This place is a 10. Charming nostalgic BIG home, perfectly laid out and run by the Owners. The accommodations and food are excellent. Breakfast is an 11, incredible. Attention to detail everywhere you look. A place a whole family or several families can stay to enjoy the comforts of home.

Yelp
Wow, this place is amazing! The rooms and public spaces are beautiful and comfortable, everything is super clean, and the breakfast and snacks are DELICIOUS! We really enjoyed the weekend we spent at the Leonard at Logan House, can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Really nice bed and breakfast in Grand Rapids: Affordable, facilities are in great shape, our room was spacious, staff was friendly and personable, breakfast was excellent. Ken and Ruth proprietors, Ann was working the weekend and knew everything about the history of the house and the neighborhood. Restored historic neighborhood, restored Frank Lloyd Wright home across the street. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I had a wonderful stay at the Leonard for my birthday. They had an excellent promotion on their website where they auction off nights at the B&B on eBay. I ended up winning a night for a *very* low price. Setting up my reservation over the phone after the auction was a snap. The Leonard at Logan is tucked away in a neighborhood full of gorgeous 100-year-old houses. It is easy to find, and we were greeted promptly upon walking up to the house. The innkeeper Mark was friendly and welcoming. He gave us a grand tour of the house and backyard, and invited us to snoop around and explore the space if we felt so inclined. We were given key-codes to get into the house and our room. Our room, the Princess Cecile, was just perfect. It's huge but cozy, super-bright from all the natural sunlight and features a large whirlpool tub in it's heated-tile bathroom. We immediately felt at home. Later that night, we definitely helped ourselves to the 24-hour snack bar. I enjoyed a toasted bagel and cream cheese and Jacob went for a cereal bar. It's a nice touch after a night on the town. Breakfast on Sunday was excellent. Mark prepared a variety of dishes including baked french toast, blueberry pancakes, the best bacon ever and two kinds of quiche. In addition, there were many different fruits, muffins and juices to choose from. We ate good that morning! After checking out, my husband and I decided to explore GR before heading home. I realized I forgot my Chop House leftovers in the fridge, and immediately called the B&B. Mark was incredibly accommodating about setting up a time for me to come back and grab my food. That left an impression on me. I can't wait for my next stay at the Leonard at Logan. With its breathtaking architecture, well-appointed rooms, welcoming common spaces and friendly innkeeper, staying here is an experience everyone should try once.

Yelp
Six months later and I'm still raving to friends about this place!! This review is long overdue... my husband and I traveled to Grand Rapids in June for some family events. And, family aside, our four nights at the Leonard at Logan were the highlight of our trip! This historical home is gorgeous, the neighborhood is beautiful, and our hosts were delightful!! Ken and Ruth are warm and gracious and made us feel right at home. The food was beyond incredible!! I love to cook and entertain, so I understand how much time and effort goes into it all. The morning buffet was fit for royalty - so many homemade dishes beautifully presented. In addition, there was a sunroom with snacks, cold drinks, hot drinks, etc. available 24 hours. And the buffet in the dining room was always filled with baked goods to enjoy anytime. Ruth made her famous Apple Roses for us, and one afternoon, treated me to her special iced coffee. These treats were so appreciated. I am hoping to visit GR again in the spring to see family again and will be staying at the Leonard for sure!

Yelp
The Leonard Logan house exceeded our expectations in every possible way. Not only did they upgrade our room for free when we were visiting but they also had the best meals of our whole vacation! Their recommendations for things to do were thoughtful and highly appreciated. We went to the Meijer Gardens (highly recommend) then Avant brewery for beers (an old chapel now turned brewery) and the Donkey for tacos. All are within a 15-20 min walk from the B&B. They're located right off of Wealthy street which is a cute strip of local restaurants, local shops, and gastropubs that will not disappoint. The highlight of our trip was definitely the FOOD! The breakfasts were absolutely unreal, bedrooms were so cute and clean and the garden was so beautiful and relaxing. If they have availability and you're considering Grand Rapids then definitely stay here!

Yelp
We had a wonderful time here. The hosts were great and made us feel very much at home. The house is wonderful and full of great antiques. we spent most of our time walking around the beautiful neighborhood looking at the old houses. in the morning we sat outside drinking our coffee looking at the beautiful Frank Lloyd Wright house next door. Breakfast was wonderful. So many choices for everyone. Be sure to try their signature baked French toast. We will be back!

Yelp
The wife and I have stayed here a good handful of times, and we've loved our stay each time. The B&B is nestled into a great neighborhood replete with old, large houses and some great architecture, and there's ample street parking just in front of the house. The interior is just as welcoming as the exterior, and there's plenty of room for lounging, eating, playing board games, or reading. We've stayed in the Princess Cecille and the third-floor King's Keep, and both rooms were spacious, comfortable, and clean. The bathrooms are especially nice! I've also been surprised at how quiet and well-kept the house is, considering its age. Breakfast has been fantastic each time, with a full spread of home-cooked dishes including breakfast basics, quiches, baked french toast, and fresh fruit. If you're looking for a snack outside of breakfast hours, the sun room is stocked with a variety of treats and drinks. The Leonard at Logan is a great place for a romantic weekend, whether you're coming from out of state, out of town, or across the block. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Yelp
This bed and breakfast is elegant, spacious, exquisite, and beautiful. Shelly was amazing in educating us about this remarkable establishment, preparing a delicious breakfast, and in offering recommendations for nearby eateries and local attractions. The afternoon sweet snacks provided a lovely additional touch. Each room was furnished so beautifully, I found every penny spent at this B & B to be completely worth this fantastic experience. Loved the updated bathrooms with a large whirlpool and heated floors. The kitchen area was well stocked with beverages and snacks and the common areas were welcoming and gorgeous.

Yelp
Outstanding accommodations and fabulous managers that go above and beyond. Sunday breakfast was ridiculously amazing. My wife was asked about dietary restrictions and due to her celiacs she was not expecting much for breakfast. Oh my, she was stunned when every dish was GF and all they were all delicious. If you don't stay here while in GR you are missing out. Great rooms, outstanding staff...10 stars!!!!!

Yelp
This is the place I stay when I visit Grand Rapids in order to enjoy beer at Founders, my favorite brewery. Over the years I have stayed at Leonard At Logan House about 3 or 4 times. I always stay in the Queen Anne room because I love the shower. I have toured the house and all of the rooms are spacious and very clean. Sometimes in a house this old the heating and cooling can be a little off from perfect. I have stayed both in the winter and the summer. I prefer the winter. There is free Wi-Fi, but the signal is pretty week on the second floor. I liked that it was available since my phone is on roaming when I am in Michigan. I have also stayed on both weekends and weekdays. I first visited on a weekend and breakfast was served in the big dining room. Later I started coming on weekdays to avoid the crowds, but at first it wasn't clear that they don't cook breakfast on weekdays. This was a bit of a disappointment. There is a pretty good choice of breads, cereals, yogurt and juices available to make your own breakfast though. I am not fond of the coffee produced by the fancy machine. It tastes like vending machine coffee to me. Once nice thing is that all of this is available 24/7 so if you come back late at night... say after a day of beer tasting, you can have a little snack and a cup of coffee. Unlike other bed & breakfast places that I have stayed at this one does not appear to be owned and operated by a single person or couple. Every time I stay at the Leonard I meet different staff. They are generally helpful and friendly, but not in the same way that someone who lives and breathes the business would be. This could be a good or bad thing depending on what kind of experience you are looking for. I don't mind it, but it was something that I noticed. The house is on a corner lot that is up on a hill compared to the road. This makes the driveway at the rear of the house very steep. I also noticed that Grand Rapids does not appear to plow side streets when it snows. These two factors could make it difficult to park behind the house in the winter. My Subaru didn't have a problem, but I thought I would call this out for others. On one of my stays, they were throwing a party of some sort for friends and neighbors. All of the guests staying at the house were welcome as well. A local chef, Tommy Fitzgerald, prepared a fantastic spread. I enjoyed the food and conversation, but at the same time I felt a little out of place because everyone seemed to know everyone else. After an hour or two, my wife and I retired to our room for the night. That might have also been because we had been at Founders all afternoon. Overall, I like Leonard at Logan House. The rooms are very nice and the whole house is well kept. The prices are reasonable for the high quality of the lodging. I will definitely be staying here whenever I am in Grand Rapids.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for one night, and it was our first time at a bed and breakfast. It was way better than most hotel experiences we've had! The house is 100 years old, but very clean and kept up. There was a great balance of antique and modern design. The rooms are HUGE, especially for the price. Our room, Princess Cecile, had a great whirlpool tub. I think there are 5 rooms total, one having a separate bathroom. Mark, our host, was fantastic. He gave us a tour when we arrived and really made us feel welcome and comfortable. We really felt like it was our house for the weekend! We had a wonderful breakfast and there were homemade cookies, yogurt, and various refreshments downstairs at all times. We will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Nicely remodeled 100 year old B&B in a fantastic neighborhood of Queen Annes and Frank Lloyd Wright homes. If you're an architectural nut, you'll be oohing and aahing from the moment you arrive. The house is very clean, and we appreciated the free snack center. Saying that, we do have some criticisms, like the failure of the staff to show us the outdoor patio. It would also have been nice to have some kind of patio heater or fire going out there so we could enjoy a cool spring evening. The shower in our room was, um, interesting. A recent addition, the plumber must have had a sly sense of humor. The handle for the shower is all the way in the back of the shower, so you have to basically lean into the shower, turn on the handle to where you think it should be, and then snap your arm back before the freezing cold water hits you on the head. Then, if you guessed wrong and the temperature is, say, scalding hot, you'll have to literally chance your arm to adjust the temperature. The heated floor tiles in the bathroom is a nice touch though. The owners have posted signs on all of the doors requesting that guests observe a quiet time at 10pm, and remove their hard soled shoes to keep the noise down on the wood floors. I'd like to suggest the owners do their part and do something about the squeaky floor boards on every square inch of the bedrooms. on the second floor. Just sayin'... ;-) To end on a higher note, the weekend breakfasts were good, although a bit repetitious. And I agree with others that being within walking distance of the Green Well restaurant is reason enough to ignore ALL of my criticisms above and return for another visit..

Yelp
Stayed here two nights last week. Lovely place in a chichi neighborhood. Welcoming hosts, great room with antiques and style. Continental breakfast thru the week, full breakfast on weekends. Well stocked breakfast area. Nice bed. Good water pressure and heated bathroom floors. Felt welcomed here and would stay again. Close to many restaurants in GR. Recommended.

Yelp
I have stayed here on more than one occasion and it's beautiful. I shot wedding pictures there as well when my best man stayed there. Their staff is especially friendly especially Charles. His cookies bring all the folks to the yard, he could teach you but he'd have to charge. But seriously the decor is beautiful, it's located in a nice area, and it's very affordable.

Yelp
Great location and a great house. This is in the historic home district and worth a visit. The home is stunning inside and the rooms are comfy. The hosts are super nice and welcoming. They have a full breakfast on the weekend and it is great. They also have a snack area that is open all day which is nice.

Yelp
We stayed here while my bf was in town for a train convention. Good thing we stayed here because the service is amazing, the house is gorgeous and inviting, we had mostly everything we needed here...can't say the same for the town. There is not much to do in Grand Rapids and no grocery stores, pharmacy's, shopping is limited. This place made our trip fun. It was the best B&B experience. Definitely top 10 and we travel alot. Paul was very accommodating and always had fresh fruit in the fridge, which I love! Within walking distance or bus if you don't like to walk is Founders Brewery. This coupled with the Leonard at Logan was the most fun in Grand Rapids. Enjoy your stay here (and you will!).

Yelp
We had the pleasure of staying here a few weeks ago and loved it! We only stayed one night and didn't get there until about 8:30 p.m. so we were unable to really enjoy the entire afternoon and evening. It was a pleasure meeting the owners who treated us like family. They were so friendly and welcoming, gave us a tour, etc. Our room was lovely. Breakfast was DELICIOUS! I would highly recommend the Leonard at Logan House! Should we ever be passing through Grand Rapids again, we will definitely stay here!!

Yelp
Had a great time staying here! Very charming and great location. I stayed in the Baron with my boyfriend for one night. We walked to cherry street for dinner and drinks. I would definitely stay here again!

Alana M.

Yelp
Great rates, HUGE rooms and friendly staff. We have stayed here two times over the past year and absolutely love this place. We even called a cab and took it to Hopcat for $6 each way! The rooms are very spacious (huge compared to amway/marriott) with some sweet bathrooms. Its usually pretty quiet at this place after the holidays so we always end up with the house to ourselves- its nice! Breakfast is included! During the week there is yogurt, bagels, cereal, muffins and on the weekends they cook up breakfast. Awesome coffee/espresso machine. GREAT B&B, we'll be back and we definitely recommend this for couples looking for a quiet, romantic get-away!

Yelp
stay here if you like the idea of a well cared for b&b, where rooms are spacious, building is relaxing and staff is dedicated to good service! the neighborhood is filled w grand, historic homes (2 frank lloyd wright homes, one right next door, another, owned by steelcase is a block away and offers free tours....fabulously restored! take a walk like we did to the green well gastro pub for dinner. a mile away. all in all, a terrific place to stay in gr!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I just stayed here and it was a phenomenal experience. We stayed here for Valentine's Day weekend and it couldn't have gotten better. The hostess greets you at the door and gives you a tour of the house. The formal gathering space is beautiful with a separate seating area behind that. The dining room has an attached area with snacks that are available 24/7, free of charge. There is a breakfast buffet on the weekends that is really damn good. I highly, highly suggest the French toast. We stayed in the Grand Duke and it was beautiful. Heated floors in the bathroom with a walk in marble shower. The king size bed was so comfortable. All in all, it was perfect. Any little detail you can think of, they have covered. Want some popcorn for your room? Done. Want some wine glasses for your drink? Done. Want home baked desserts at night waiting for you to eat? Done. The hosts were amazing and I highly suggest this place to people traveling to Grand Rapids.

Yelp
Customer service = terrible. I've never had a hotel refuse a doctors note as an acceptable means of cancelation. Especially when the emergency happened within 24 hours of making the reservation. They couldn't care less about you once they have your money.
