Where to Find Festive Whiskey Cocktails in LA | Eater

"You can find a slice of Dublin in Downtown LA, thanks to the Liberties of Dublin. Transporting you to the Irish city’s Liberties neighborhood, home of many famous distilleries, the Liberties of Dublin is not your run of the mill Irish pub, but a modern interpretation, serving up a date-sweetened Liberties Auld Fashioned with a toasted oak Jameson Black Barrel backbone. Following an afternoon of ice-skating or perhaps a casual date with a Christmas tree-farmer straight out of a holiday movie, you just might find yourself downtown a lot more often than usual this winter, especially when the day can end with this bar’s ever-popular frozen Irish Coffee." - Mackenzie Filson

15 Places to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Eve in Los Angeles | Eater

"With cozy velvet chairs and huge neon artwork on the wall, the Liberties of Dublin is reinventing the Irish pub. A bit classic and a bit modern, the combo works perfectly in this downtown spot. The craft cocktail list is always changing, so you can enjoy new favorites or stick with the Irish-inspired classics like an Irish coffee or Jameson whiskey sour, and relax in the sunshine of an L.A. St. Patrick’s Eve." - Vox Creative

I love this place. I’ve been to LA twice in the past year and each time I’ve gone here for some great food and a magic pint of Arthur’s finest, aka Guinness. There’s a fantastic selection of Irish whiskey that will make Irish whiskey lovers smile, and reach for their wallet. The pint is close to perfect. 4.75 out of 5 on my scale with the cream sticking to the side of the glass all the way to the bottom. Food wise I LOVE a great Lamb Burger and the one at the Liberties ticks all the boxes. Their pizza choices run the gamut with lots of great options. I always have the Lamb Burger but I saw lots of pizza leaving the kitchen on both of my visits. And last but not least make sure you connect with Ray, the owner, he’s a top bloke, who embodies all that is great about Irish hospitality and our Cead Mile Fáilte.

I moved to DTLA about two months ago, and this spot is right across the street, so I’ve been coming here more often lately. The happy hour deals are unbeatable, the food is delicious, and the crowd is always fun. They always have whatever game you want to watch on TV, but if you’re looking for a place to catch up with friends, they also have super comfy seating. There’s a cozy corner with couches and even a private room you can request. The decor is on point, and the restroom is always spotless. One of the best parts? It’s dog-friendly! My pup loves it so much that he tries to lead me there every time we go for a walk. The owner, Raymond, is incredibly accommodating. I booked a table for 10 for the Super Bowl because I love this bar so much and wanted to share it with my friends. Raymond gave us two different seating options, and when we decided to move to the patio, he was completely flexible. The whole process was hassle-free, and in case you were wondering, the reservation system through Google works great. The bartenders are awesome—especially Jack, who’s super friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s the perfect spot to grab a drink, enjoy some great food, and play a card game!

Had the chance to checkout “Liberties of Dublin” and dug it. Exceptional drink selection, best legit Guinness pour in all of LA and recommend an Irish Coffee to close out the night. Great spot to meet up before a game, heading into DTLA or after work hangout. Cheers All

Besides the asshat at the bar demanding that the only beer that should be ordered is a Guinness, it was solid. burgers are good. Make sure you let them know how you want your burger. wings 🔥, chicken Caesar salad 🥗 was tasty. fair prices and a good happy hour.

Great find! Food and drinks are delicious! Ordered the Liberties Burger, Thai Sweet Chili Wings, and Pizza Diavola. All the food was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. I’ll definitely be back to check out the night time vibe and explore this menu even more. 10/10 recommend!

Wonderful food and staff! Went for opening day, and already planning my next visit. We had the Lamb and Wagyu blend burger, both well portioned with serious frenchfries— everything was delicious! Also ordered fried pickles to share (addicting!). I was pleasantly surprised with the variety of seating options and loved the decor. Great date-night hang, solo mid-day hang or a place to meet friends for a catch-up over drinks and a meal. Check out their Instagram, it seems like more and more community events are happening.
