14 Best Bars in Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"One of the first notable small-batch distilleries in Vancouver, Liberty is more than a place where booze is made. Its cocktail lounge, with a warm ambience accentuated by a classic pub-style bar, is a great place to experience local gins, vodkas, and whiskies. The cocktails are all made with Liberty’s own products. The West Coast Negroni (house-made gin, Aperol, Lilet, and sage) is a winner, but to assess the merits of the booze on its own, order a flight of three or four half-ounce tasters." - Guy Saddy

We booked the distillery for my fiance's 30th birthday and couldn't have been more thrilled! Cocktails and flights were delicious as always, staff were super friendly and helpful, and the tasting room served as a perfect venue for our gathering of ~30 people. Booking the space was a breeze, the proprietor Lisa was so helpful and accommodating to make a phenomenal event!

We were in here a few weeks ago and had a great time! Andy served us and was incredibly friendly. Can't wait to see what else these guys come up with over the coming years!

One of my favorite stops at Granville Island. The cocktails are always on another level and you can't go wrong picking up some bottles to restock your home bar.

Google
Have always enjoyed the cocktails here, especially anything with the Liberty Gin. We recently booked for our anniversary party, and we couldn't have made a better choice. The atmosphere and staff was great, and I was delighted by how smooth the logistics were. The Liberty team made it a great and easy day for us.

We just had the BEST party at Liberty Distillery. Lisa and her staff looked after us brilliantly with great cocktails and a fun ambience. Highly recommend for an event! And amazing gin!! :)

Google
Experimental cockatils which are very well curated. The cockatils are very boozy and the in-house distilled spirits are exquisite. The whiskey collection is rich in flavour. Highly recommed if you are a whiskey lover and enjoy trying new styles amd versions of your favourite spirits.

Make a little cocktail stop while you are visiting Granville Island and you will feel historic vibes in this beautiful area. Their cocktails 🍸 are exceptionally delicious! The interior of the distillery is stylish and has some antique elements. Received friendly service and we felt very welcome. The bartender did a great job! I definitely recommend this place and will come back for more cocktails🍹. There is an option for those who want to purchase an in-house made bottle of spirits.

Google
I hosted my graduation and ordination party here and it was fantastic! The staff took great care of us, the cocktails were top notch, and the atmosphere is a 10/10. I love this little spot and always make a point of stopping by for cocktails when I have guests in town.

Yelp
While visiting Granville Island, in Vancouver for the weekend, my husband and I popped into the Liberty Distillery around lunchtime. It was a rainy day and we were looking to escape the cold. The ambience was very warm and inviting, as were the staff. My husband wanted to try a flight of some of their premium spirits while I opted for a classic hot toddy. The hot toddy was warm and soothing; the perfect sipping beverage for a cold and rainy day. My husband enjoyed his flight and it was a wonderful way to pass some time while waiting out the rain.

Yelp
A corner shop situated in Granville area. Predominantly Whiskey drinks. We had a Whiskey Sour. It was around $17.50 CAD, with taxes. It was a great drink. There were tables and stools all around the place. It was a chill and cool spot to sit and drink. They didn't have any food, just drinks, snacks like peanuts and a charcuterie board type snack. Not bad and I enjoyed it.

Yelp
I wanted to hit the Brewery in the area, but it as of writing this is closed for renovations (maybe next time). Liberty Distillery to the Rescue! came in here and at the strapping chap bartender recommended the Gin flight - we were off. The old Tom was by far my favorite - My buddy's as well. Smooth like it should be with slight blossomy, berry hints in the after taste. So good, I got a bottle to go. The Endeavor Pink had a little more kick but really good, I mean they all were. I definitely recommend being a Gin enjoyer. I was sort of geared up to go whiskey, but again, following the bartender's recommendation was a nice call. Liberty Distillery itself has an old cabin feel in its setting. There is a modest amount of seating - a few tables and counter seating, so you may have to share communally at one of the tables on a busy day. There is a lot of merch to purchase, perfect if you want some Liberty Distillery apparel or gifts alongside picking up a bottle or two. A great stop if you're venturing around Granville Island. Would love to return here.

Yelp
The Liberty Distillery on Granville Island is a delightful spot that exudes charm and character. We experienced friendly and knowledgeable staff that elevated our experience, with their enthusiasm and expertise. One of the highlights of The Liberty Distillery is their fantastic selection of flights and cocktails. Each drink is crafted with care and creativity, making it a treat for any cocktail enthusiast. Whether you're trying a flight to sample a variety of their offerings or indulging in one of their delicious signature cocktails, you're in for a memorable tasting experience. However, be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially on weekends. The distillery's cozy size means that seating can be limited, and it can be challenging to find a spot during peak times. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall experience is well worth it.

Yelp
We had a wonderful time with The Liberty Distillery on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Cozy inside the tasting room, we enjoyed the whiskey flight and a flight that featured Liberty Gin, vodka, and two whiskies. Our favorite was the gin--clean tasting with a beautiful tincture of juniper. The service was attentive and friendly. We highly recommend The Liberty Distillery and will be back. As a side note, we bought a bottle of Liberty Gin and tucked it into our car trunk as we headed to Seattle for the Pearl Jam concert on Tuesday night. After the stellar, moving concert, we walked to our hotel room, deciding if we should go to a crowded bar for a night cap or just head back to our room. My brilliant husband remembered the gin. We wound up having the delicious gin neat on the hotel's rooftop with the stunning Seattle skyline and Elliott Bay views. It was magical.

Yelp
What a gem of a spot in Granville. Jake, our distiller was full of helpful information and added to the flare of this splendid spot. We were a fan of the whiskey and loved the full explanation given by Jake and info cards. I highly recommend this experience for those who love a well made vodka, whiskey or gin!

Yelp
What more can I say: delicious cocktails made by exceptional, friendly bartenders! OK, I can say a couple more things, now that we have the essentials covered. I did go here twice on my recent Vancouver visit; you'll get a different experience if you're there on a sunny summer Sunday afternoon as opposed to a regular'ol Tuesday afternoon. Distillery appears to require that you're seated to be served, which seems to be a hangover from the COVID days, and which is difficult when you're by yourself and need to be simultaneously guarding a chair but also ordering at the bar. Also, people bring kids in there, who require seats. C'mon, it's a distillery and a bar... don't they have a chuck-e-cheeze somewhere around there, or charlamagne-du-fromage, or whatever kid parking lots are called there. No kids were there on the Tuesday, nor that many people at all, so the bartender had more time to talk and explain what they make, as well as explain a lil' more Granville Island to me. The room is old-timey pretty, and even if you don't sign up for a tour, you can still view the tanks and piping and whatnot while on your way to the restroom, or bathroom, or warshroom, or whatever the nice folks up north call it. As Granville Island is a likely stop on your Vancouver adventures, having a drink here is definitely a part of that!

Yelp
Sadly, most of the reviews for the restaurants in the Granbury Island area were not very redeeming... So when I came across a lot of really good reviews for this place, it was my suggested stop. Sadly, they didn't have an extensive food menu... But we got the charcuterie plate and it was extremely delicious. Our drinks were both wonderful, and the bartender told me the exactly perfect way to enjoy my whiskey tasting. He was very friendly and really good at his job. You order at the bar and then they bring your stuff to whatever table you've chosen. I kind of wish we had gotten the pretzel too. :-) After we left, we went and walked around the food market, and I wound up getting some big bakery item... That was indeed marginal. So I'm very glad that we listened to other yelpers, thanks guys! and shared the charcuterie plate here :-) it was not a great big meal... But everything sure was delicious.

Yelp
Very cool, chill, classy bar you should visit when you are exploring Granville Island. When I saw there was a distillery on Granville Island before I made my trip here I made the plan to be sure to stop by. As opposed to breweries I have not seen many and thus have not been to many distilleries so I was excited to come here especially since I do drink gin. When you walk in you will right away notice a warm, classy & very chill vibe inside. It's not that big and there are just a few tables (communal) and countertop seats. This is not your raging busy bar and I like that about this place. I found myself a seat and then made my way to the bar where I placed an order for the Gin Flight as well as the New York Sour (no longer on the menu but I previously saw Yelp photos of it). The bartender was accommodating and said he'd bring the drinks to the table. Unless I'm mistaken, there were no seats at the actual bar which is interesting especially since I probably would have just sat at the bar. It was fun tasting my way through the gin flight trying to discern the differences. In the end, I made a gin & tonic. The New York Sour is a very nice-looking drink and made well all the same. I'm not a whisky drinker but it had a good balance with the alcohol, sweet and sour flavor. I can see people getting this drink just because of its visual appeal. The place offers their spirits as well as merch for sale and from I can see it's not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive I've seen. Gotta pay for quality, right!? It's right near the Granville Public Market, and you should be able to find parking in one of the nearby lots, there is one right across the street from here. Also, I believe that after 6pm, parking is free, so that's good. I can definitely see myself coming back to try out some more of their spirits and cocktails since they are putting thought and effort into them all. Cheers!

Yelp
Quite possibly the best value cocktail bar in Vancouver. I've been shopping here for years for supplies, but never actually had a drink until May 2023. I was absolutely blown away. I'm pretty sure I wrote a Yelp review extolling the fantastic staff & cocktails, but it seems to have disappeared. Anyhoo, I enjoyed their cocktails immensely. I finally managed to drag my hubby here during the August long weekend and it was still amazing. He was also blown away by the quality of the cocktails, the service and ambiance. He bought two bottles of their whiskey to take home.
google avatar

Jason V.

Yelp
I'm not at Liberty to say how good our cocktails were... Well, I'm not *currently* at Liberty, anyway: I'm at home, writing this review...but I *can* tell you that they were excellent, crafted by skilled hands using some truly spirited spirits, all of which were distilled here on Granville Island. I can also tell you that I'd come here again, order more, and even take home a few bottles, if it wasn't such a hassle to get them across the border through customs. Instead, I intend to hunt down their Trust Whiskey at a liquor store back home, because its just right for me: smooth, strong, and complex. Sure, the experience of sipping it straight back home won't be the same without the rustic, industrial vibe of their tasting room, but...after knocking back a few, I'm sure I won't mind very much.

Yelp
We stumbled into the distillery after finding out the Granville brewery was closed until later that day. I'm glad we walked in. The martini was wonderful and tasted like a peach ring candy. My husband had the gin flight and enjoyed tasting the different profiles of each gin. Would definitely come back if I visit Vancouver again
google avatar

Jon O.

Yelp
Great place to take a break while shopping and enjoy a cocktail or flight. I did their Liberty Flight which was two whiskeys, a vodka, and gin. Each was smooth and flavorful, and I'm not usually a gin person but their Endeavor Gin just might make me a believer! Staff was fast, friendly, and had great suggestions. My daughter had the Limoncello Spritz that was a perfect refreshment on a summer day. They also have some beers, ciders, and wine, and I think a few snack items too like pretzels. Next time I will plan to take a tour, that sounds fun and educational. It's $15 but ends with a complementary tasting.
google avatar

Jill S.

Yelp
Always wanted to stop in here and it didn't disappoint. Good Vesper martini and Espresso martini. The Old Fashioned was the BOMB. Helpful and attentive staff. We'll be back!

Yelp
The vibes are perfect!! Cute date night spot for when you're in Granville Island. I came here an hour before closing and was worried they wouldn't let my boyfriend and I in but the staff was so friendly and let us in. I had the whiskey or gin flight ( to be honest I don't fully remember because I got drunk) and my boyfriend had a Moscow Mule which was so good! Beware, the flight is so strong! Like 40% and up and I lost it at the end but still such a good time!
google avatar

Glenn L.

Yelp
This place is a distillery but has a bit a cross-up as a craft cocktail bar as well! Order at the counter (you can opt to leave your bill open). We started with cocktails first - the Whiskey Apple and the New York Sour. Both were solid cocktails, but a whiskey flight was calling. Since we were travelling, I was not super interested in getting any bottled spirits, but if I lived locally, I would take a bottle or two home. We also had the pretzel (twice), which was super hot and very good. Overall, this place is worth checking out if you are on Granville Island. A quick search and you can find it.
google avatar

Kathy H.

Yelp
When you enter, head to the bar to place your order and the bartender will seat you. There are whiskey and gin flights available and some of their liquor have won medals. We had the Rose Colored Spectacles and the Tomcat, both made with Endeavor gin. Both very tasty and high quality liquor. Definitely recommend coming here if you're on the island and want a break from beer.
google avatar

Darlene R.

Yelp
Stopped here for a shot before shopping. They have so many different flavoured Gins to choose from. We had a double The Pink Fizz Double Endeavour Old Tom Both were very taste so much so we bought a bottle to take home with us. Really enjoyed the atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious cocktails made with high quality, house crafted spirits in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the service is quick. A great place to stop for drinks on Granville Island!
google avatar

Yelp
This is such a cute place! Small distillery located in the middle of Granville island. They have crafted assortment of whisky, gin, & vodka! The bartenders are very nice! They have tours on the weekend but reservations are required. Small table top gift shop inside. He made the New Yorker perfect!!
google avatar

Alejandro O.

Yelp
Drinks are good the gentleman that made them was so nice! Definitely recommend. The room ir self is welcoming and is neat
google avatar

Joe G.

Yelp
High end cocktails in a refined setting. Both the bartenders and servers were very knowledgeable and enjoyed educating customers. Granville Island is always fun and Liberty Distillery offers some higher end cocktail options.
google avatar

Adrianna V.

Yelp
I was just telling my husband I needed a pick me up and was in need of an espresso martini.. and low and behold, we stumbled upon this place seconds after stating that. He had the old bridge..he thought it was a bit on the sweeter side. I had the espresso martini, and it was awesome. The bartender was very pleasant. She was nice to talk to! I then followed with the McClay. My husband had the last spike. I thought both were really delicious. I definitely enjoyed the lively music, and it wasn't too loud. There is plenty of seating.
google avatar

Karen F.

Yelp
This is my new favorite place on the west side for a Caesar. The room is beautiful, bartenders friendly, the vodka Caesar is seriously the best. We ask for medium spice and they are quite hot so beware of asking for hotter. All the other cocktails look so good although the Pink Fizz is the only other one I've tried. Pair your booze with a hot pretzel to soak it up and you won't be disappointed. The gift shop of cocktail related items is great if you're looking for a last minute gift also. They make their gin, vodka, whisky in house and you can try a tasting flight if you are feeling adventurous ! Now you know my not so secret spot for a cocktail adventure :)
google avatar

Cin C.

Yelp
Such a fun place to stop by and have a cocktail in rainy weather. They have multiple artisan cocktails to choose from and amazing servers to help with any questions. We had to try their one of their flights as they distill their own alcohol and a soft pretzel to soak up the effects. They paired so well together and was the perfect afternoon snack. Be careful when the pretzel comes to the table as it is blazingly hot and will burn your fingertips and tongue!
google avatar

Chad D.

Yelp
Came in for a whiskey tasting. The two guys that were working that day were really nice and welcoming. One of them explained the different whiskeys and seemed knowledgeable about the subject. Sadly, no one was working inside the distillery part of the building so nothing interesting to see in there but still had a good time.
google avatar

Mindy F.

Yelp
Ambiance is excellent. Professional service and great recommendations. Unfortunately no food.
google avatar

Florence V.

Yelp
Do you need craft spirits?? Yes, the answer is ALWAYS yes! I used to think that I wasn't a gin fan, but it turns out I only like gin from smaller distilleries. We decided to stop in and try a drink while walking around Granville Island. My husband had the Honey'd Sour and I had My Pear Lady. Both were so delicious and went down a little too quickly. The staff was uber sweet and helpful too! If you're on the Island, you need to stop by!
google avatar

Uday M.

Yelp
This place offers $3 tasters of anything on their menu, which is something that every distillery should do (a lot of places can be snobby about their 'nicer' stuff and only offer flights). We tried the Endeavour Pink, Endeavour Origins, and Railspur No. 2 White. The tasters were served with little informational cards, which was a nice touch. The service here was very warm and friendly. We were unfortunately too full to try out any of the cocktails, but based on what we saw they looked delicious.
google avatar

Anne E.

Yelp
Read about this place when looking for things to do in Vancouver. I liked the idea that they distilled their own vodka, gin and whiskey. The place is super cute and comfortable- felt like a true bar. The staff was SO awesome and explained everything about the distilling process. Drinks were perfection. I like the vodka best. So smooth. And the large baked pretzels were so good! If you are looking for an easy, chill, drink spot then you must check it out!!
google avatar

Yelp
I kind of don't want to write a review because I want to keep this place a secret. I am born and raised in the city of Vancouver, have walked by this place a million times and I never realized how absolutely amazing this place is and I'm so glad we discovered it. Every cocktail was impeccable; with such vivid descriptions of drinks, you're bound to find something that calls your name. One of my favourite drinks was the RoyalTea which has pink in, early grey syrup, raspberry syrup, lemon juice, rose water and mint leaves. Doesn't that sound delicious? My boyfriend loved one called the Last Spike. We clearly had more than one based on the pictures, so it's hard to remember all the names, but we were so surprised and delighted by this Distillery in Granville Island. A new favourite to bring visitors and friends!
google avatar

Kay F.

Yelp
We came by here for some drinks after dinner and were thoroughly impressed! Tables were spaced out for covid however we did notice they didn't take down our contact information for tracing. They have a wide variety of cocktails and gin/whisky flight. I got the Liberty's Yule Mule which was their feature cocktail. It was very festive and even had a candy cane in it! My partner got the Hot Smoked Toddy and it was perfect considering what a rainy day it was. Loved their cocktails and will definitely be back for more of their spirits.
google avatar

An Thien T.

Yelp
The Liberty Flight was a one-of-a-kind tasting experience! I thoroughly enjoyed the Railspur No. 1 White. My friend ordered the Gin Flight and found that fantastic as well. I was captivated by the saloon design and interior, a very special ambiance indeed. Staff was VERY friendly - quality customer service.
google avatar

Sophia S.

Yelp
Was intrigued by the names of their vodka and whiskey. There was also a rose gin. I got a mixed drink which was super smooth. My friend got a flight that contained their vodka, gin, and whiskey. They also got a shot of the rose gin. For sure a fan of the whiskey but it's not your typical whiskey since I don't think it's aged very long but it still tasted good. The vodka was smooth and normally I find vodka to be terrible. The rose gin and gin were kind of rough to drink. Inside they have a lot of interesting items for sale for those into making their own drinks.
google avatar

VyVy V.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting a distillery and it was a good experience! They offer happy hour specials and shot flights! We opted for two cocktails. Staff is so friendly and personable! You order at the bar, you seat yourself, and they'll bring your drinks out. They also bring you a water for the table. They offer distillery tours during certain times as well. Make sure you sign their guestbook by the door!
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
Such a cool place! While visiting Granville Island, my friend and I decided to switch it up and try something new. He got the flight and I got the martini. I LOVED the martini, it's literally all my favorite things in one drink, you really can't go wrong. Neither one of us really like gin in general, but the vodka and the two whiskeys were good!

Brendan Q.

Yelp
We were touristing around Granville Market and saw a bar. Went in to have a quick drink. Spent over and hour there, talking spirits, music, oh and had some amazing cocktails. This place does not feel or act like a tourist trap bar. Great drinks, service and it has a fantastic vibe. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Wilson L.

Yelp
We had such an amazing time at Liberty Distillery. I had the regular Liberty flight and it was so good, I can't wait to come back and try more drinks. The service was great too. Definitely worth giving this a try.
google avatar

Yelp
Liberty Distillery is a great place to stop in for a cocktail on Granville island. The atmosphere is open yet still feels cozy. Seating is limited and you need to order at the bar. They have a fairly large menu for a small bar. There are cocktails available to please any palette. They also offer flights of their products which I need to try on my next visit. Last time I was here, I opted for the Breakfast Martini. This cocktail combines gin, triple sec, lemon juice, marmalade and a side of "toast". While it was delicious (seriously, they make great gin!), I definitely expected something more extra. When I ordered it, I had envisioned using toast with marmalade as a garnish but the "toast" was just two toast-style crackers on the side. Regardless, I found it sweet and smooth and would definitely order it again.
google avatar

Janna L.

Yelp
We went on a weeknight around 7pm. The place is smaller, cozy, intimate with a great view of the distillery room. We were surprised it was not a busier spot. Maybe it is on the weekends. BUT, it is very pricey. $28 plus tip for 2 small drinks that had so much ice that it was literally a few sips worth of refreshment. Cleanliness was on point and the bartender that was alone doing it all, was a super friendly Irish guy. If not for the prices for what you get size wise, this would be a 5 star place. The vodka honey lemonade though was delicious as was the Mule made with Whisky. The location is prime of course next the the Granville Market. Not a forgettable place!
google avatar

Yelp
I sometimes come to Granville Island strictly to get a cocktail from The Liberty. They have a small lounge in front the actual distillery where you can sample their products and order cocktails. There are two large picnic style communal tables and a few high tops and chairs along the windows. They utilize the space really well, so that they can accommodate as many people as they can. But since it is a small space it does fill up quickly. Honestly, they serve up some of the best cocktails in the city. I've tried a few different ones now: the honey sour and mule are my two faves. They also have an assortment of seasonal cocktails that I've loved, but I can't remember their names. You can get flights of their liquor or as a high ball. The bartenders are also very knowledgeable on all the products, so if you don't know what to get they can help guide you and make great recommendations. They do a happy hour from 3-6pm and a late night happy hour from 8pm-close. Since this spot is located in the heart of Granville Island, it does attract a lot of tourists, but regardless it is still one of my favourite spots in the city.

Yelp
I didn't know this place existed until some foodie friends of mine brought me here to celebrate my birthday. And now I'm a fan forever! The bar area is reminiscent of a "gentleman's club" of yore, with dark woods and a prominent stately counter/bar taking up one whole wall, manned by a very experienced and friendly bartender (who just happens to look like the mustachioed or bearded bartender in every Impressionist painting ever painted). I liked how the rear of the lounge is glassed off to the distillery beyond, so you can see the machinations and mechanics of the actual making of the spirits. Also nice are the bar accessories (and of course, bottled spirits!) for sale. I'm not a gin drinker (and, truth be known, I'm somewhat of a lightweight when it comes to mixed drinks), but the bartender was able to whip me up a sweeter-than-usual honeyed whiskey sour and, man, I can tell you that it was divine. Truly the best sour I've ever had. My friends each had a seasonal gin cocktail and they were definitely the prettiest drinks I'd ever seen. Very Instagram-worthy, if you know what I mean. I've never seen cocktails presented so beautifully. Anyhow, usually I find gin to be a very astringent, harsh spirit (I liken it to turpentine. lol). But I had a sip of my friends' drinks and they didn't taste like gin AT ALL: they were smooth, and refreshing. Really delicious. Even I could drink these cocktails! (One was a cherry gin drink and I think the other was orange-based). I purchased a bottle of their house Tom Gin for my friends (it comes in three sizes and makes for a great gift!), and we're planning on returning for their distillery tour. Great place!

Yelp
I was happy to finally pass by here when they were either open, or it was an appropriate time of day to stop in. I love the old timey prohibition era feel of this place. I stopped in after a theater show on the island. I got a taster set of the gins, vodka & whiskeys. I got a sampler set for $10. Not bad. Plus, the bartender was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I appreciated his knowledge & attentiveness. I ended up getting a bowl of pretzels for a buck (aka $1) and a jug of water coz I needed help with absorbing the samples. It was all good, but I ended up leaving with a 375 ml each of Tom gin & vodka; they do a great job of both. I appreciated the floral tones in both of these spirits. The Whiskey was quite tasty as well, but there was only so much I could take home. It'd be nice to return and try their cocktails. It seemed like a very nice convivial atmosphere, where locals & tourists enjoyed themselves alike.

Yelp
We came here for a break from all the walking we had done and relax and have an a drink. I'm very glad we did

Yelp
If you've seen my past reviews , you could have noticed that I'm not much of a distilled spirits kind of guy. On the other hand, I'm almost always willing to try something new, so when we were out and about on Granville Island and saw Liberty Distilling, I thought "Why not?" It became apparent upon entering that this place is well-loved by Vancouverites. The vibe here is ... open. There are lots of windows to the shopping scene outside, and to the distillery. And white walls. And tables. And a shelf with chairs along one window wall. Oh, by the way, if you don't have a seat available, they won't serve you. The spirits here are pure Canadian. I got a taster of Railspur No. 3 Switch, Trust Whiskey Single Grain (Barley), Trust Whiskey Canadian Rye, and Trust Whiskey Southern (93% corn, 7% rye). Each one had its own unique flavor profile; I actually bought the Canadian Rye, which will probably get a workout during our long dark winter. So if you find yourself wandering on Granville Island happen upon Liberty Distilling, pop in and ... give it a shot? ... have a shot?

Yelp
My first experience with Liberty Distillery was last summer when I visited Granville Island with some out of town friends. We popped in for a quick drink and I ended up buying a bottle of their gin. It became, instantly my favourite gin. Last week, as it happens, I did a job for Liberty Distillery and met one of the Owners, Lisa. Had a great time seeing the stills and talking about the history of the distillery. I ended up buying a bottle of their Pink gin. Great place to visit. Great gin!

Yelp
On our walking tour we decided we needed a break and stopped in. It is small, but excellent service and even better excellent spirits! We enjoy Gin and our waiter suggested we try one of their speciality Gin and Tonics made with elderberry tonic water. What a refreshing change. Their food menu is small but very good with a nice selection. It really is a nice stop and coupled with great service and drinks a highlight of the tour!

Yelp
This being one of the only bars on Granville Island my fiancé and I decided to wander in to enjoy a few cocktails. I had The Honey'd Sour and my fiancé enjoyed The Espresso Martini, both were really good. I was kind of undecided on what to get and the bartender guided me to the honey'd sour which I thoroughly enjoyed! The egg white seems odd when you first read it on the menu but you can't taste it, it's a little tangy and kind of citrusy, but still refreshing. The espresso martini is exactly as you would expect, nothing to write home about but worth the money. It's a cute laid back spot to hang out when you need to get off your feet and enjoy a drink and chat. You can see the distillery room through the seating area which is really cool, all the exposed copper is beautiful! Would definitely go here again to try more drinks.

Yelp
I wanted to take my bf to this Distillery since it was all over my friend's IG! We found this cute place while walking around the Granville Public Market. Since it was rainy, I opted for a hot toddy. This drink surprised me! I know it is especially good for you when you are sick, and I loved it. It was really good with a hint of cinnamon and honey. My bf got the whiskey flights and he said it was so so. I wish there were more distilleries around in LA. This place was pretty intimate and gave me major winter vibes, if you know what I mean. All in all, I would definitely come back here with friends.
