"Upstairs at the Italian Pie is the return of the Library, a lively Prytania Street cocktail bar that closed early on in the pandemic. It’s been revived by new partners and a new approach to drinks, namely nailing classics with refined techniques and ingredients — think Ramos gin fizzes, mint juleps, French 75s, pisco sours, and more. Happy hour is a steal, and the food is varied, New Orleans-centric, and hearty." - Clair Lorell, Eater Staff

Such a hidden gem! The Library has an incredible vibe—cozy, creative, and effortlessly cool. The drinks were top-notch (especially the signature cocktails), and the bartenders were super friendly and knowledgeable. Loved the mix of books and bar—perfect for a chill night out or catching up with friends. Can’t wait to come back!

Highly recommend this awesome bar. The cocktails are carefully crafted and unique. Walking up the stairs you feel like you are stepping into a different world. We were met by friendly barstaff, beautiful decor, and wonderful cocktails. Ping pong, pool, and various games are available upon request. There is plenty of seating on the mid-century leather couches or at the bar. Apparently open pre-covid and now back in operation for one month. Add this to your list! Pictured: Coconut in the Lime.

Very good looking place with paneled walls, a large variety of beer and delicious food. Downstairs is your typical decor but upstairs is the whole "library" vibe. It's a great place to hang out with friends.

Uptown best kept secret! Pro-tip: Order the empanadas!

If I could give this place a negative number I would. There were less than 10 people in the establishment. You couldn't miss us, we were sitting AT the bar. No one greeted us, asked for our drink or food orders..., nothing. After about 15 minutes of getting absolutely no service we got up and left. I Will never go there again.

A great new bar in the neighborhood which has pop ups nightly for food! Each pop up has been amazing 💜

What’s not to like? Good drinks, went on a Saturday night when there was a DJ playing. All around great vibes, welcoming.

I was invited to a brunch and drag show there on 11/24. Upon entering, I was going to partake in the brunch buffet. There was a very anxious female telling me it was $45. I said okay, thats fine and fixed my plate. There was no formed line of people or anyone requesting money before I entered the line. The morning was perfect...the venue, performers, patrons all were great. When it got time to settle our tabs before paying, that same woman accused others that I was not going to pay. When I approached her, she said "were you going to pay?" I said of course, I normally pay at the end of the meal. She then caused some type of ruckus among others in my group. Apparently, she told them I was trying to eat without paying. I was so embarrassed in front of people I dont know well. I have never (even in younger days) walked out without paying for something I ate. When I got the tab, it was actually $50 (instead of said $45.) After talking with my friend, she paid $25 for the same brunch. This was a beautiful and fun day until the lady so rudely ruined it. I dont know if she was a normal employee or just a pop-up serving food for that weekend only. Anyway, I will never go back to this place again (I have been a time or two before and enjoyed it) unless I am given some type of explanation. If this lady is a normal employee and/or owner, I cannot give a positive review, return, or suggest this place to anyone in the future.
