Hi Felicia: Staff Allege Bounced Paychecks and High Turnover Plagued Oakland Restaurant Ahead of Sudden Closure | Eater SF

"The team behind Lafayette’s Hideout Kitchen is launching the Library Social Club, a wine-and-beer-centric spot in Walnut Creek set to open this month; memberships are being offered at $100 to $150 a month in exchange for one to two bottles of wine, access to the space, plus tastings and discounts." - Dianne de Guzman

My boyfriend and I originally planned to attend the Black Wine Festival, but the tickets were sold out. Instead, we decided to support a Black-owned wine business—and I’m so glad we did! Benjamin went above and beyond to ask about my taste preferences and made sure I was paired with the perfect wine, which he absolutely nailed. The gumbo was incredible, and honestly, the cornbread tasted like Thanksgiving dinner—in fact, it was even better than some gumbo we had in Louisiana! The space itself is cozy, intimate, and beautifully decorated. Benjamin also told us about their brunch and other upcoming events, and we’ll definitely be back. This spot is a hidden gem with amazing food, wine, and hospitality. Highly recommend!

Great wine bar with good local wine selections and also many imported ones too. The staff was super nice and gives excellent recommendation. The venue is classy but unassuming, but it's nice, cozy, and has a homey, casual vibe to the whole place.

I am impressed with the selection of wines the Library wine bar has to offer in Walnut Creek . 😍 My favorite wine was the Rose 🍇 🍷. I would say Rose pairs well with the warmer weather 🧀 ☀️ & great friends. The inside interior design is very calm and peaceful. Definitely will come back to visit again . ☀️🍷🍇 💖

We’ve come here a couple of times for Sunday brunch; and another time for Mother’s Day, and again when friends from out of town came in to visit, and again on a random-ass Friday. Great vibe, great service by Benjamin, and the food has always been phenomenal. We would always recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Definitely a hidden gem in the East Bay. We hope to keep coming here, not only for the food and drink, but to support business managers, like Benjamin, and the owners, who obviously know what they’re doing. These are the people we like to support.

This is a long overdue review. Stumbled upon The Library one evening while walking around downtown and been coming back ever since. The vibe-unmatched The service-incredible The food-way better than you’d ever anticipate(ask for the gumbo) The wine-haven’t had anything I don’t like All of this due to Benjamin. He’s recently brought in live music which just makes an already dope spot even better. His recommendations have never failed me. At this point I come in, tell him what I’m feeling like and he’s delivered every.single.time Hang out spot, special event(rent out the entire space), memberships, you really can’t go wrong. Make sure to make a reservation on Friday/Saturday evening because it fills up fast! Need an idea for Sunday brunch? The Library definitely needs to be on the list

10/10, Library Social Club is a must for any occasion that calls for great service, wine, and ambiance. There was a live DJ playing chill tracks the evening I went. Wine options were great and the host (owner?) was super cool and made great recommendations!

Hands down one of the best wine bars I've been to across the country. Wine from various parts of the world (Napa,New Zealand,France) came with my flight paired deliciously with bites recommended by my host Ben.
