Food was delicious. My husband got the savory mashed potato cone "all the way". He loved it! I wasn't sure if I would like it and to my surprise it was quite delicious. I got a burger with a side of hand cut fries. Fries were good and plentiful, burger was nice and juicy, seriously have no complaints.

Excuse the half eaten pics, as we forgot to take pic before we dove into it all! Hub got the cheese burger, fries, while I chose a lighter Greek side salad. I also tried their homemade soda, lemon mint, some may feel it's not bubbly enough, but I think it was just right. Not so sweet like typical sodas tend to be. Very refreshing! We ended with a shared ice cream cone, again homemade ice cream and cones, we chose the Jasmine Orange Blossom! Again, perfectly flavored and not overly sweet.. Why is it store bought ice cream is so sweet with such little actual flavor?? Great little place.

Google
Great little restaurant experience. Staff was very friendly at walk up order station. There is outdoor seating. We had California Tuna melt and fish sandwich. Plenty of food and delicious. The hamburgers and mash potato cones looked great as well. This is a popular eatery and filled up with locals and travelers. We really enjoyed eating here.

Google
Cute, very nautical themed place not far from the sea, but NOT waterfront. This is a counter service restaurant with the food delivered to your table. The food is basically fast food quality at much higher prices. I had the grilled fish sandwich and garlic fries. The fries were extremely overpriced at $8.95. The sandwich was OK. While the proportion was very generous, the fries were extremely disappointing. They were very greasy and not close to crispy. The Parmesan was scarce and the garlic dip not really very garlicky. Pass on this place.

Google
For 5 people including 2 drinks and a root beer float it was around $70. Pretty good prices! The fried chicken sandwich wasn’t our favorite but the fish sandwich, the clam chowder and fries were great. Love that they had root beer on tap.

Google
Creative, delicious menu choices with the option to dine inside or on the patio. My girls LOVED the savory mashed potato and gravy waffle cones..how fun! We also enjoyed homemade ice cream cones. Far less crowded than some of the other dining options in Trinidad. Definitely recommend!

Google
Ordered the lighthouse Jamin’ burger and garlic fries did not enjoy my food at all for the price my wife got the kids Brisket & Fries yet her meal was as big as mine you pay fries and burger separately if it’s not kids meal…Sandwich was as small as my wife’s Brisket no flavor only could taste the goat cheese unsatisfying…My fries didn’t taste like garlic fries and the ranch that came out like pickle juice had to get ketchup on my garlic fries to make it worth eating only things they have going for them it seemed like there Ice Cream and mashed potatoes cone. If you go here be ready to pay a lot for food not worth the price fast food tastes better then this place won’t be coming here again…

Google
Delicious Food and Amazing Service! I got the Spicy Chicken Sandwich on a homemade bun, paired with garlic fries and a coke. Absolutely delicious such a beautiful restaurant! They have absolutely delicious homemade ice cream that you get in a homemade waffle cone or a bowl. My boyfriend got the fish and chips and he absolutely loved it! Said the fish tasted amazing and was super flaky and the batter was amazing on the fish as well. Highly recommend this awesome place. You definitely won't regret it!

Yelp
Cutest little spot in a little fishing town! Muriel's on the ceiling, local artistry on the walls. Serving up and seafood and other select menu items. Service was great!

Yelp
My friends and I stopped by The Lighthouse Grill for a quick dinner on our drive home after a weekend of hiking. We found it on Yelp and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Lighthouse Jammin' Burger with a gluten-free bun, a side of mashed potatoes and gravy, and a side salad with ranch. While I appreciated the gluten-free bun option, the burger itself was disappointing. The jalapeño jelly and goat cheese were barely noticeable, and the flavor overall was underwhelming. Two of my friends also ordered the same burger, but requested it well-done, and it came out rare--so they had to send it back to be remade. The mashed potatoes and gravy were bland, but the side salad was refreshing and had a nice variety of veggies. I also tried their ginger lemonade, which was decent. We arrived around 4:30 PM when it wasn't busy, but with only two people working (one at the counter and one in the back), the wait for our food was quite long. This delayed our trip home more than we expected. Overall, The Lighthouse Grill was an okay stop, but I wouldn't go out of my way to return. They could improve on food quality and service speed.

Yelp
Food: It was made really well. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich and it was pretty big, the bun and everything was fresh. Service: Asked if there was any recommendation, and that was how I got the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. For the most part, service was quick. I ordered, got my number to be placed on the table, waited for a few minutes and received my order. Ambiance: The place was nice, it was like a mix of what Trinidad was able to offer, pictures of what a part of Trinidad used(?) to look was in the bathroom, and there was a lot of art pieces throughout restaurant that didn't detract from the decor and the feel of the place. There is both an outdoor and an indoor seating, and on a nice day where the wind doesn't pick up too much, the outdoor seating is best.

Yelp
They had a crabby cone for a special and it was yuuuuum! thin, crisp cornbread waffle cone filled with mashed potatoes and crab. I loved this. Others in my group had the crab melt sandwich which was very good but pricey for lunch/portion. Other got clam chowder with bacon, she said it was good, liked that it was full of clams and no grit, but broth a bit meh, def needed the bacon.

P C.

Yelp
i want to preface by saying i am not a picky eater whatsoever and when i am hungry will quite literally eat anything, ordered a chicken sandwich and a tuna melt to go. i should have known to check the bag before leaving the parking lot, one thing i was very specific about was not wanting onions or mushrooms. I check the bag to see a chicken sandwich absolutely smothered in onions and mushrooms like genuinely more onions and mushrooms than chicken :( not only that but they put all the vegetables i asked for on the side on top of my bun in the box and the bun became soggy and basically inedible, and the cherry on top was that the chicken was so overcooked it tasted like literal beef jerky. Tuna melt was mid, very small nothing to write home about

Yelp
Really great service, excellent home made breads and buns. All of the food was very good and very reasonably priced. We ate outside on the patio, very refreshing. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Had my hopes up because all the reviews were so good. Service was bad, the cashier took phone orders in front of us while we waited to order. The fries were half cooked. The fish batter was soggy and smushy. The beer was good. It's also very small and cramped inside, with dirty cloth seats. And you have to pay a 3% charge for employee benefits.

Yelp
Saying that this place is bomb is an understatement. It's a hidden gem! The food is absolutely amazing! The selection is both classic and unexpected (ex: mashed potato waffle cone). The service was great as well. Don't get me started on that mashed tater cone though My husband and I love Northern California, and every time we visit, the Lighthouse Grill is a must stop. Keep up the good work!

Yelp
Wow, just wow!!! This was our very first stop after leaving the Arcata Airport and it was beyond perfection! Melissa helped us and answered all of our newbie questions! She was super sweet, helpful, and welcoming. Couldn't have asked for a kinder welcome. Then there was the food - OMG the food! The Mashed Potato Cone All the Way was a magical masterpiece of deliciousness!! We also got the Greek Salad and BBQ Beef Brisket Sandwich. Both were very good and I'd gladly order either again. There is indoor and outdoor seating with a nautical woodsy-cabin vibe. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. I will say, there were a bunch of crows just waiting to snack on leftovers or an unattended meal. So, if you do eat outside on a beautiful day, just know you will be joined by some feathery friends.

Yelp
First, I was standing in line at the Eureka airport getting our rental car when my daughter walked up to tell me she found a restaurant on the way to our Airbnb. When she said, "The Lighthouse Grill!" Our rental guy perked up and listed off what we had to order. We took his advice! OK, so after traveling, a good meal always hits the spot, but this food was eyes-roll-back-in-your-skull GOOD! Order the "All the Way homemade savory mashed potato waffle cone filled with slow cooked (12 hours slow cooked) brisket, bacon, gravy, and cheese! This is the must order menu item!!!! The brisket sandwich is good. The Greek Salad with grilled chicken is good. Melissa, the perfect Lady that helped us was beyond nice! Looking forward to eating here again! MOST SINCERELY!

Yelp
I ordered the fish and chips. Everything was fresh and made to order. There's art available for purchase, as well. I purchased one of the paintings of Patrick's Point. Kind service. If I ever go to Trinidad, California again... I'll be stopping by. Home town feel. Peaceful.

Yelp
I've had so many of their different types of food from here and everything is fantastic. I'm quite partial to the savory waffle cones (loaded to the max) and that's the only thing I happen to have taken a photo of prior to posting. The service is quick, no matter how busy (which I love). I also love the in and outdoor seating options. It's a little small but always a place to sit. This is a great spot. The ice cream is awesome too!
google avatar

Yelp
Came on a Saturday evening and service was so quick. I asked the cashier if just the crab and waffles was enough for one person and she said no so I got a second dish. Honestly, it was a lot of food for one one person. The crab and waffles was a cute idea but wouldn't get again. I do love the waffle cone as it was sweet. The fried fish sandwich wasn't anything special either but was pretty fresh.

Kari B.

Yelp
I ordered in good faith - TIPPED in good faith - waited an hour( whilst EVERYONE who arrived after me receive their orders- had to ask for my order which is now cold to get it. NOT how one should treat locals who support them in the off seasons. I'm seriously considering NEVER to go back! Oh plus my order should have had fries but no I didn't get those either!

Yelp
Overpriced food with No soul. Mediocre Quality. Service is Ok not great customer service engagement. The Icecream Waffle cones are outstanding Yum! Yum! Convenient Location across from Trinidad Post Office.

Yelp
Super friendly staff, delicious food! Never been a miss for me. Cones, fish sandwich and crab melt are all 11/10

Yelp
I had a hamburger. I appreciated knowing that the cow was raised locally, and fed grass. They offer only one kind of bun (non-whole-grain wheat, I assume). I added avocado for $2. Really enjoyed the taste of the final product, despite the bun. My husband had a BBQ Tofu "burger", as unfortunately they have removed Nut Burgers from the menu. (I was told they were popular, but too much work.) They've been replaced by Beyond Burger options, which he avoids. Other than the bun, he loved his tofu burger (probably because of all that sweet BBQ sauce). Very friendly service, with interesting menu items. I like that they so strongly support local farmers, as I feel that means the food from them is likely to be more fresh and tasty.

Yelp
The Lighthouse Grill is a solid 3 stars. I had the Smoked Tuna Sandwich that had a lot of bread for the amount of tuna that was on it. My wife had the grilled chicken with no bun, and we split an order of fries.

Yelp
What a great place to grab a bite to eat. I love it when restaurants come up with fun creations. This was my first time ever having beef brisket and mashed potatoes in a waffle cone. Lighthouse Grill is located in beautiful Trinidad. I stayed in this beach town while exploring the Redwood Coast. While looking for places to eat, Lighthouse Grill was close to my hotel and came up as a local favorite. The Lighthouse Grill menu is pretty simple. Burgers (they use grass fed beef), fish, sandwiches, salads, and homemade ice cream. The soda is homemade too. All the ingredients that they use here are from partnerships with other local farmers and businesses in Humboldt County. I personally came here to try one of their signature savory waffle cones with mashed potatoes. The All the Way cone has mashed potatoes, gravy, bacon, cheese and beef brisket. It was so good! The atmosphere is pretty laid back here. The customer service was really nice too. Lighthouse Grill added to my already great time I was having here in Trinidad. Great community in this town.

Yelp
Love everything about this spot. Prices, food, service. Can't beat the great portions and prices too! Love the Greek salad and chili!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is fresh and delicious! Service offerer here is super kinda but low on staff! If they hire more people for their peek hours would be a great addition to the place! Ambiance is amazing loved the painted ceiling!! Super duper cool!
google avatar

Spencer H.

Yelp
Can only rate their homemade ice cream. It is delicious! Ordered it once, ate it, and then had to come back for another set of scoops. Restaurant was crowded and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Ice cream is definitely 5 stars, TBD about the rest of the place.

Yelp
We love coming to The Lighthouse Grill for tasty food and a fun atmosphere! It's so charming, we like to take out-of-town visitors here. The little restaurant itself is covered in darling artwork. When you're waiting in line to order, the ceiling is painted to look like you are underwater with sealife swimming all above you, and the bathroom has an amazing mural of the town. The food is really good: especially the garlic fries! They have a big menu with burgers, sandwiches, fish & chips, salads, chowder, ice cream...everything yummy. They also have local wine and beer. Stop by for a guaranteed smile! :)

Katherine T.

Yelp
I have always loved the Lighthouse Grill. We go often until recently. The last four times we have been very disappointed. Often they are out of various things as simple as French fries but don't offer replacements without charging full price for the replacement. What's a burger without fries or fish and chips without fries. Im afraid the quality has gone down and I have received the wrong item or missing items I ordered. If a place is out of an item that's listed on the menu and you're paying full price one should be offered a replacement like a salad or something. Gonna miss the old lighthouse grill. Best to go early afternoon. Dinner time they are often out of a lot of items.

Yelp
My girlfriend from Arizona and I were too late to get crab. However, I had a tuna melt. I haven't had a tuna melt since I was a teenager which as you know is years and years ago. I remembered the Disneyland tuna melt with one of my first boyfriends, so I thought I would try another. I had no idea I was getting fresh caught albacore. there's no way to describe how wonderful it was!

Yelp
We were just looking for the nearest place to stop while driving down the coast. I saw the reviews for this place and thought it looked promising. It more than met our expectations. The food was very good and they had gluten free options. They also had an interesting menu with mashed potatoes in waffle cones. We sat out on the patio which was a great spot. They had ice cream to finish off the meal, with interesting flavor options. I would highly recommend this place if you're anywhere nearby. Burgers, mashed potato in waffle cone, brisket, and ice cream are all recommendations.
google avatar

Yelp
THE best tuna melt ever!!! The food here is quite unique, waffle cones filled with yummy stuff such as brisket, crab and mashed potatoes. The burgers are really good too!!!

Yelp
One of the few options we had to eat in Trinidad while we were visiting the Redwoods. The staff is super friendly and energetic. The place is decked out in paintings and some other art on the walls, interesting to look at. They have a wide range of things to order from. We got burgers and it was okay. Very little dressing on it and served plain with little condiments on the side. Wish their buns were toasted, maybe that would've made the difference. Their fries were good and crispy and plenty. They also serve homemade ice cream. Probably the reason for 4 stars is because it was the best earl grey ice cream I ever had. Anyway, great local biz that I'm glad we found. Meals hit the spot and that ice cream, unforgettable.

Kieran M.

Yelp
Best burger ever, it constantly takes only 5 minutes for food, fries are great. Not too loud, outdoor seating area, so good. Has ice cream.

Alex P.

Yelp
Don't eat here. Food was horrible... ordered the blackened chicken dinner and it was undercooked piece of chicken slathered in a sweet jelly?? With mashed potatoes and 5 pieces of undercooked zucchini. The whole plate was wet with sweet jelly sauce. It was disgusting. it was not "blackened" chicken or anything close. $50 for two of these plates + tip. Worst meal I've ever had.

Cathy K.

Yelp
Quick service for a party of 7 which included two fussy kiddos who quickly changed their minds and ate everything in front of them. Crab in a cone was outstanding and fish and chips was great. Ice cream for dessert for those of us that had room for it.

Yelp
I dont hand this out lightly, 5 stars is reserved for something that changes me, something I eternally crave, something I'll dream of... this beautiful lil spot in trinidad has a fairly locally famous dish of brisket, on mashers with gravy inside of a waffle cone... its delicious guaranteed. we come here often, she always gets the cone, I grab a burger or sandwich and fries, everytime. alone that's 4 stars from me. the food delish, the service great, pray there isn't a line cause its well deserved and it gets long. they have I've cream, milkshakes and waffle cones fir the kids, good drinks, homemade Arnold Palmers and micro beers for the adults. this place is yummy! but there is something in the air right now, tis the season, dundeoness crab season... and it fall on no deaf ears here. we were surprised to see the crab on the menu, and the dishes presented. I got the crabby patty, and it gives the crusty crab a run for its money. it's delicious... she got the crabby cone, and wow.. this takes the cake. the fact she gave me many bites of her butter soaked crab cone proves she loves me and I am the one! this crab cobe is worth driving for, worth a day trip, and just the most amazingly new presentation of crab I've had in a long time. I'll be back, soon, and until then, I'll dream of it... well done!

Yelp
When on the road, it's hard to resist trying out the local restaurants. There were a handful of places to go, but the Lighthouse Grill was conveniently close. It's located in the same shopping center as the local grocery store Murphys. Grabbed the kid's meal Fish & Chips (Perfect serving size) with a Smoked Tuna Melt. For dessert, an earl grey ice cream cone while we waited. The wait was ridiculous. 30 minutes! Great food but would not do it again with that long of a wait. Avoid the lunch rush hour and I think your experience would be much better than mine. The city of Trinidad is beautiful. Grab lunch to go and enjoy the views of the coast.
google avatar

Lena O.

Yelp
The food was good.... but we sat on the outside porch, which is advertised online as dog friendly as most outside seating areas are. Our dogs were under the table asleep and I had several staff approach us to let us know our dogs were not welcome because one of their staff had gotten bit last year. I said, we are literally eating.... they are sleeping. Can we wait? They brought us to go containers and kicked us out. I'll never go back. Don't have outside dining without dogs being welcome or post accordingly.

Christine C.

Yelp
Ate here every day of our stay in Trinidad. Try their savory cones - a rosemary waffle cone with mashed potatoes and either a generous portion of crab, or brisket and bacon...yum. They have a kids menu - heads up that the chicken tenders are tiny, but let's be honest, the kids really just eat the fries. We saw a lot of people in line for their homemade ice cream but never had room - saving it for next time!
google avatar

Celeste D.

Yelp
So disappointing! We were craving fish & chips, but the batter/fish had no flavor--we'd never put salt on fried fish before! We paid $2.99 to upgrade the fries to garlic fries, and there was very little seasoning, and they were greasy and soggy. My daughter got a 1/3 lb cheeseburger that was small and flavorless. They were out of chowder that we'd really wanted. The ambiance was just ok, and the tables outside were rusty and dirty, ick. The service was minimal: you order at the counter, the computer assumes & asks for a tip (which I SO regret giving even 15%!)--the only "service" is that they bring you the food out when it's ready, that's it. Then, you bus your own table after you eat! I resent the bogus 3% charge they slipped in (that I only noticed on my receipt later) for "employee benefits". The business owner should pay for that, not the customer! Or, increase your food prices, & when people look online at the menu, they can decide if they want to pay the (increased) cost of the items!
google avatar

Cameron P.

Yelp
We can't do cones right now. Hmmm, half the people in here have cones and that's why I came here. I got fish and chips instead and they were not very good. The fish was over cooked with dark brown batter, but quite greasy. I saw other orders come out that were golden brown, I wish I got one of those orders. The chips on the other hand were mushy instead of crispy. I had high hopes for this place, but it definitely disappointed.
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
If you set your business model up as order here, wait for take out or take your a number and place it on your table, you must be prepared to perform and deliver quickly. We waited 40 minutes for our take home order. And, the food sucked. It was cold and soggy. The front counter employees were not very pleasant either -- and I watched lots of interactions in that 40 minute waiting period.

Jeri H.

Yelp
Literally the worse fish sandwich I've ever had. Inedible. The fish looked (and tasted! Like it was dipped in pancake batter. The fries were limp and greasy.
google avatar

Franceska R.

Yelp
It's ok. Nothing jaw dropping good. Burger and chicken sandwich were on the drier side with meh flavor. The buns were awesome though, really soft. Just wish the meat could have been the same. Thought the fries were pretty good. I have to say the customer service was so bad I had to laugh at it or else I would have been peeved all day. I questioned if it was because I was Asian or if the woman just had a really reeeeeeealllllllyyyyy bad day. I even went in line again to try their ice cream and tried to make small talk and was awkwardly stared at. I'm pretty sure others have had similar experience based on reviews. I'm sure for locals it's probably a solid spot. But as a tourist I'll pass. To be honest I find Wendys burgers to have more flavor for the same price.
google avatar

Kelly R.

Yelp
The savory waffle cone was fun, but I wouldn't recommend going out of your way for this place (personally). I felt it was overpriced and the food quality didn't match. You order at the counter which was crowded - no one knew who's turn it was, and they give you a number for your table. Your burger or sandwich won't come with a side, everything costs extra. Lots of natural lighting but not any sort of nice view if that's what you want. The person at the counter was friendly and so was the person bussing the food. It was a pleasant enough place but idk not worth the price.
google avatar

Yelp
Perfectly sweet and fresh ice cream with a crispy and light cone. Texture left a bit to be desired. 9.4/10
google avatar

Petr J.

Yelp
Today burger and were very good, still a long wait. There is only two beer options and neither of them are very good. I come to the Lighthouse Grill for their sea salt ice cream but there wasn't any.

Jeff T.

Yelp
Clam chowder was thick and tasteless. My friend enjoyed the fish and chips. The desserts looked good but we didn't have any.
google avatar

Alicia T.

Yelp
Ate here with our dog, yummy simple hamburgers. The mash potato cone situation was a savory novelty. Nice beer and burger outdoor spot on a nice day.

Marcia P.

Yelp
the food was terrible- not sure what all the rave reviews are about. Got the beef brisket, burger and chicken sandwich. It had no flavor, dry and greasy fries. i would not go there again

jesse B.

Yelp
The food here was terrible made my family stomachs upset!! The service was poor and the kitchen was dirty!! Got the famous waffle cone and was barely full!! Chicken sandwich was hard and dry !! Also how do you ruin a classic cheese burger but this place did it!!
google avatar

Layne D.

Yelp
Lighthouse Grill is a cute spot in Trinidad that is offering online ordering for pick up during Covid. The menu covers decent ground with burgers, sandwiches, and mashed potato waffle cones (yes, waffle cones!). We ordered online and picked up our food to enjoy elsewhere. Cheeseburger and fries: just average. The fries weren't very good. Mashed potato waffle cones (plain and gravy, cheese and bacon versions): a cool savory treat, but flavor wise nothing really out of the ordinary. The best part was the savory waffle cone, we couldn't pinpoint exactly what the mixed into the batter but it was good. Tuna melt: the tuna was pretty dang good and the bread was nice and fluffy. This was definitely the best item. Overall it was an easy pick up process and staff were super nice, but the food was hit and miss for us. Maybe the seafood options are the way to go here since the tuna was the best part.

Yelp
Very good brisket and mashed potatoes bacon and cheese cone and great atmosphere we will be back
