"This is the spot where Wheaton-ites gather for happy hour. Guinness is always on tap, as well as a variety of Maryland craft beers. Irish fare is served on the menu, and traditional Celtic music adds to the atmosphere." - Tim Ebner

Great meal here with a large group of friends. There is a bar, a dining area and outdoor seating. Great Irish atmosphere and even better food. For starters we had the Shepherd’s Pie Potato Skins. Delicious! Then we moved onto the Guinness Beef Stew and Shepherd’s Pie. Both were absolutely fantastic and honestly the best Shepherd’s Pie I have ever had. The stew was also excellent full of flavor and fresh vegetables. Others had the Fish & Chips which looked yummy and will be my choice on my next return. The food here is authentic and worth the trip. I was full so I did not do dessert (a rare occurrence) but could have chosen all of them. (Banofee, Apple Crumb, Warm bread pudding and Chocolate Pot de Crème). Some nights have specials running on Mondays through Thursday, so check it out. Our night was Prime Rib Wednesday. We were served by Luis. Great service and very friendly. Also a group of musicians showed up and just started playing Irish music. Really added to the atmosphere. A great experience and I can’t wait to go back!

Welcoming. Consistent. Great food. Great service. I can sit down, get my whiskey and feel comfortable. Whether I have my Kindle, my computer, or come to socialize - it's always a good choice to come. Oh & don't miss St Patrick's Day here. The food and music is everything it should be!

The food was great. There was still a strange smell inside but not as bad as the last time I was there. I think you should give it a try.

A friend and I decided to go to Limerick Pub before going to a movie at the AMC across the street and we had a great time. The restaurant was pretty much empty when we arrive but it is a Tuesday night after all so I wasn’t expecting much more. After arriving we sat ourselves as instructed by an employee. I ordered a Magners Cider which was a very good cider but unfortunately the first cider I ordered had something floating in it. I let our server know and he quickly brought me another. We then ordered the mozzarella sticks which were very good. I ended up getting the veggie curry which was fantastic, they were running a special where you could get unlimited bowls for $22 but I decided against it and I’m glad I did because the portion size was huge. My friend got the Shrimp Po Boy which she described as a little overwhelming but good. Overall we had a good experience and are glad we chose to dine at The Limerick Pub tonight.

Wonderful place with nice patrons. Went there to watch a soccer game. Was told by regular patrons to try their food & it was delicious. I got the prime rib Queen cut which comes with mashed potatoes and mushrooms & it was delicious and a big portion. Meat was fresh and tasty. The bartender Elisia was super nice and interactive with everyone. Paid meter parking across the street. Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area.

I visited this pub last night with friends to watch the Copa America game. I got to the pub first as my friends were finishing their dinner at the restaurant next door. When they came in to join me, the bartender (Billy) came towards them very aggressively, pointed at my friend, who is black, and started yelling that they needed to get out of there as they were not allowed to eat their food inside. What my friends had were boxes of leftovers with no intention to eat there. We were just coming for drinks. My friends and I were just intending to watch the game and spend our money at the business. The bartender did not ask any questions, he did not explain the policy (even if we were not intending to eat our leftovers there) did not offer a menu, he just came to us and yelled at my friends telling them to get out of there. I asked for the manager’s contact - Elijah Spottswood and called him. I started to explain the situation and he hung up on me. I am appalled at the way we were treated, and at how the manager has or has not handled this. This is not just very poor customer service but this felt like discriminatory behavior.

Ate here a few years ago and had a great time: food, music, friendly atmosphere. Since then, I’ve looked forward to coming back someday. Finally made the trip this past Friday and met friends for dinner. Traffic was terrible (of course) and parking was a bit inconvenient , but no problem, the experience would be well worth it I thought. Walked in and the atmosphere was quiet and pretty empty for a Friday evening. No music. Maybe things were subdued a couple days before St Patrick’s Day, i dunno. The food was fine. The waiter had pretty much no personality. We tried smiling, striking a bit of conversation with him, but he was not in a good mood I guess. He kinda brought us down, which is a surprising feat when I think of other Irish restaurants I’ve visited. Sorry to say I was disappointed this time.

Loving live music, aces food, fast friends, and lovely bartender Billy. Enjoyed every bit! Sharing Pic of the bread puding!

Yelp
Love this place. My so-called boyfriend and I come here all the time. Excellent, homey vibes. Relaxed. Dope food too.

Yelp
3.2.24 Service Hubby and I started at the bar while we waited for friends. Hubby and I struck up a conversation with the owner who was friendly and personable. Owner worked the bar and served drinks, but also came around and took order for drinks when we transitioned to our table. We later had a server who was great too and came by frequently to clear our table and asked if we needed anything. Ambiance Fun and cute Irish decor throughout the pub. Loved the vibe. Bar, dining, and patio seating. Live music at 8pm on Saturdays. Drinks Extensive menu of wine, whiskey, and beer. Happy hour on all pints (16 oz), Glass Wines and Rail Spirits, Monday-Friday from 4-7pm and all day on Sundays (only at the bar). $2 off on bottles and cans in Saturdays. Food Menu Weekly Specials include: Monday: half priced burgers (night and dine-in only) Tuesday: unlimited veggie curry Wednesday: prime rib Saturday/Sunday Brunch (11am-3pm) Food Rating -Fish and Chips: average -Reuben sandwich: delish -mozzarella sticks: good -calamari: average -banofee pie: average (Friend wanted to come here as she was on a mission to try this, but sadly it disappointed.) Final Impression Love the service and ambiance. I don't drink so can't comment on it. Food was decent, but didn't have anything that was noteworthy. A great pub for St. Paddy's Day approaching.

Yelp
Cool Irish Pub! Stopped by during happy hour to catch up with my favorite Yelper. We sat at the bar. Great service by Lauren and Louie. I wasn't hungry so I can't speak on the food. Drinks were good. I was impressed with the selection of bourbon/whiskey! I ended up trying a new one, Heaven's Door - I liked it. The customers seem to be regulars. I like this type of vibe. I would come again and try the food. Parking wasn't bad - found a metered spot. Definitely pay the meter - they do check!

Jason R.

Yelp
I go here quite a bit to drink but generally avoid the food. For the most part it's meh, but that may be because I don't really care for Irish cuisine, or like Denis Leary said , "We put everything in a pot and we boil it for seventeen and a half hours straight, until you can eat it through a straw". Except for the burgers, Monday nights burgers are $6.50 and are some of the best I've had. Prime rib on Wednesday is good too. Service is good too. Beer selection is ok, but stick to the happy hour (4-7 weekdays, all day Sunday) otherwise it get pricey. Saturdays are $2 off cans and it's a good opportunity to try a bunch of new stuff that changes periodically. It's atmosphere is ok, sports and game shows on the TVs. Live music some nights but it's often Irish folk music. No music outside is a downside. There are a large number of friendly regulars that you can mingle with during happy hour.

Yelp
This is definitely a neighborhood staple Irish pub! It was a relaxed early Saturday evening back in October, and I just grabbed a beer and took in the atmosphere. Bartenders were laid back, the staff were laid back, the decor was amusing... there were signs with puns and just random things hanging up. I got an international beer that I wasn't familiar with and I was pleased! I just sipped water and hung out otherwise. I occasionally saw some food go by that looked really good, like the fish and chips! The next time I come I think I'll try some food.

Yelp
Overall, I think this is a great local spot for booze and bites. In my case, I stopped by primarily for booze rather than bites. ;) It seems like most of the folks that come here know each other. Even though I am new to the area, all of the folks with whom I interacted were very inviting and open to conversation. The pub has daily drink and food specials depending on the night of the week. I thought the prices for the most part were pretty reasonable. Service can be a bit interesting. One of the bartenders is quite good at his job, but his personality might be a bit off putting to some.

Yelp
I went on a Tuesday (COVID times) for my actual birthday. I called ahead to reserve an outdoor table for safety issues, and also so my friend and I could bring our dogs. Unfortunately severe rain was predicted so I called ahead and asked to be seated indoors. No problem, they said. We arrived promptly at 6:30 and were surprised to see the county surface lot direct across from them on Price Street was marked as free, yay! I am now thankful we were seated indoors because everyone seated outdoors was smoking! It smelled awful. If we had our dogs we would have had to leave. Once inside it was a different story. There were only two other tables occupied. They had moved out many tables so proper social distancing was enforced. I ordered a shandy which hit the spot. I haven't had a beer since this pandemic began. (I can't say the same thing about wine though.) I got the fish and chips and my friend had a hamburger. The fish was tender inside the perfectly crisped batter. They give you oodles of fries which my friend was able to help me out with, and I still had leftovers. I accidentally deleted my picture, but there are others on this page to view. But perhaps the best part of my meal was my birthday treat (On the house thanks to an email that arrived that afternoon)... bread pudding. This was the hugest piece I have ever seen served in a restaurant. And it was warm and delicious. I only ate a small portion there, and had two additional servings later. Get this! Overall, it was a happy birthday for me. This was my first time dining out during the pandemic. I cannot praise them enough for all they do to keep everyone safe. Our server made it a pleasurable experience too.

Yelp
We had an hour to kill between events and needed to grab a bite. I saw that there are a bunch of vegan options (even for brunch!), so this spot was the choice. Holy cow, it was awesome. The server was fantastic and on it. I didn't even mention we were in a slight rush, and we were still in and out in 45 minutes. Food was hot and fresh-- and delicious. The kid's menu was pleasing to my kid. I got a great brunch sandwich with vegan egg, and my husband enjoyed his dish, too. It's Silver Spring, so parking is always fun. There's a nearby lot, though, so it's not awful. Cannot wait to go back, and highly recommend you visit, too!

Yelp
I just moved to this area and visited this restaurant for the first time. It was great! I really like the atmosphere and people there. The owner was also our server, it was really busy but he was super nice. The prices were decent and they fish and chips were good. They give you a lot of food for the price. I really like the chips (fries) and onion rings. My friend got a burger and said it was good too. They have good happy hour prices at the bar for $4 drafts and rails. They also have a seasonal beer for $4 a pint. When I was there, the beer was the silver branch Pilsner (local brewery), that's cheaper than the brewery prices. I plan to come back here again. The atmosphere was great!

Yelp
This will be my go to Irish pub in the area. Fantastic Reuben sandwich with lots of vegetarian options for the wife and daughter. There's an excellent brunch menu using just-egg which is a great "fake egg" alternative. I think this even makes the place great for vegans. That's truly rare for an Irish pub. Service was absolutely amazing, it was seat yourself but as soon as we sat down we had water and a server at our table. We happened to glance up at what our daughter was pointing at and the waiter came over immediately and if we need anything. Great service, fantastic food, rare Irish pub for vegetarians/vegans

Yelp
In the spirit of supporting neighborhood businesses, I ventured over to Limerick Pub. Why did I do that to myself? I ordered the crab dip (no crab and covered in uncooked bread crumbs accompanied with cold chips). For my entree, I requested a medium-well burger with a fried egg and bacon. Once cut, I was greeted by a dry, well done patty. The mediocre crab dip I boxed to go thinking I could fix it up at home but the burger, the burger was sent back to be re-done. Shortly after, the older red-headed bartender returned to inform me that the cook was unable to make a medium well burger. Apparently, he's a one-trick chef and that trick is over cooked beef. The bartender then argued with me about the fact that there was no difference between "well done" and "medium-well". Needless to say, I returned the food and just opted to dine on beer. I'd say I'm disappointed but honestly, annoyed is best suited. If you want beer, come to the pub. If you want decent bar food, choose unplugged or one of the other options.

Chris D.

Yelp
Pretty hearty food. My wife got the beyond burger, I don't know why... but she's not big into pub food. I got the beef stew and Shepard pie combo and it was pretty flavorful. The service was friendly and it was a quiet atmosphere. I'll probably end up going here again by myself since my wife didn't seem to like it very much but that's more of a matter of preference than the service here. I took off the star cause there was no pokestop here. EDIT I changed to five star because their is actually a gym and there are multiple stops around. I apologize. I posted this review nearly two weeks later and confused my notes.

Jan K.

Yelp
Depending on your expectations (mine were not all that high) i give this a very good rating. Nice selection of beer and beverages. Wait service was good, low key and helpful. Potato leek soup was heavier than traditional but flavor was nice and it was very satisfying. Shepherds pies were just delicious and the serving was ample. I agree w previous reviewer that the crab dip was short on crab. I would definitely go back. Easy parking across street. Have been looking for a nice but not fancy local spot. The elders here may also miss the Royal Mile.

Yelp
So, I just wrote a review of my favorite Irish pub I've ever been to and my favorite bar in Phoenix. I've been to my local Irish bar three times since living in Wheaton, and I want to like it more, but it doesn't quite hit the mark for me. The 3 times I went were: -My birthday party on Friday, February 9 -A date on Sunday, August 26 -A show last night Wednesday, September 19 February Birthday: I had considered having my birthday party here, but when I looked, I realized it was awfully small. So, we went for Nava Thai for dinner and then to Limerick afterward. The bartender was nicer to my g/f than me, but whatever. We enjoyed the dart board, and it was pretty good. Date on Sunday, August 26th: I suggested the Limerick to a woman I had met at another bar (which I won't name because I have a major issue with them & don't want to give them name recognition after going there in July). One of the positives from that other bar was meeting this girl. We each had a beer & talked for 3 hours. It was an excellent date. The server was great. He was quick with our drinks. He came around like 5 times asking if we needed anything else. That got slightly annoying. As for that woman, perhaps, you might remember I mentioned the movie, The Blind Side starring Sandra Bullock several reviews ago, which was Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Tempe, AZ. Similar analogy applies with her. On our second date, at the end it was determined that she DIDN'T consider that or the Limerick a date. I was totally blind-sided and angry. Wednesday, September 19th: I went for the Misbehaven Maidens show. A couple of us had gotten there early to get a table & eat dinner. Upon looking at the menu, I discovered that the Happy Hour (4-7 PM) drinks were only available at the bar. So, I got a water and then ordered their Wednesday special $16 petite prime rib, mashed potatoes, & veggie of the day. The person I was with at the table first went to the bar to try to get a drink up there, but gave up since they were a little busy. He ended up paying full-price at the table. A few minutes later, I went up to the bar. And the server asked if I needed anything. I told her that I'm getting the drink at the bar since HH is only at the bar. She said I'll have to check with the manager. The manager came out saying that the HH was only for bar patrons and said that she could have me switch to the bar. I told her that I'm NOT leaving the table where my friends were. The manager even had the nerve to say that most places the HH is only at the bar. I said that a lot of places the happy hour is anywhere. That wasn't even the point. Even when the HH was only at the bar at some restaurants/bars, I've never had an issue ANYWHERE where that was the case of ordering food at the table & getting the HH drink at the bar. It was unprecedented for them to denying me a HH drink and a huge disappointment. I told her I'll just drink water. They lost drink business from me and pissed me off, which was a bad business decision on management's part. I would've had a drink (In theory, I might've ordered 10 drinks; they wouldn't have known), but they only got the $16 for the prime rib. As for the Prime Rib deal, I start with the Veggie of the Day, which was squash, zucchini, & peppers, that was pretty good. I would've wanted a few more of that, but it was tasty. The mashed potatoes were excellent. I had a feeling they would be good because I had heard the Shephard's pie was good there. The prime rib was sub-par. It was good enough, but it was well below average. It was chewy, and there was quite a bit of fat, most of which I didn't eat. I did not think the $16 Prime Rib was a good value because it was weak. The server came around with water a couple of times, which was good, because I certainly made a stand to not get a beer. Conclusions: Making comparisons with the Dubliner Irish Pub (5-stars) in Phoenix (The review I just wrote before this) with Limerick in Wheaton: 1. Dubliner is huge, and Limerick is very small. They are both well decorated, but Limerick is cramped. 2. Dubliner: I never had an issue with the food, beer, service, etc. or needed to talk to the manager. And Limerick: The manager makes me seem stupid by adding the line about HH only at the bar is commonplace. I will come back to Limerick at some point. I wouldn't mind trying the Shepherd's Pie. Bars in Wheaton aren't great. It's mostly more like clubs like Unplugged. I just like a neighborhood bar like Limerick. My top choice for bar in Wheaton is Bar Louie by the mall. They don't have the charm of Limerick, but it's specious and nice in there.

John T.

Yelp
Awesome food, great staff. Best wings and seafood. Chowder. They need more live music on the weekends.

Jessica L.

Yelp
I want to love this place SOOOOO much more than I do. I want to go there because it's local and in my neighborhood but they make it a bit hard. It's an Irish pub - their fish and chips should be the star... but every time I get them I'm disappointed. It's too much food, too much grease, too much breading and not enough fish by comparison. It's frustrating. The kids chicken tenders were good but all the kids items come with fries. They also come with drinks and ice cream which is nice but the waiters often forget to even offer the ice cream. An issue when the kid can read... . With all this said I'm thrilled Wheaton has closed the street to make it easy to eat at the neighborhood joints.

Esperos C.

Yelp
The best pub in metropolitan area great food. Atmosphere service clean less best owners great job.

Joy B.

Yelp
Three and a half stars for this traditional Irish pub. Looking for a bit of blarney, than look no further. The dark wood walls and cute Irish designs make you feel welcome and part of the Irish clan. Our waitress was a lot of fun. She joked with us and gave recommendations on her favorites. I wish I could give them another star just for their onion rings. They were huge (see my picture) and they were cooked to perfection! It is hard to find a good onion ring, lots of places are using onion straws, but these were the best I have had in years. Can you tell I love onion rings? :) We split a fried fish sandwich and a Rueben. The fish was supposed to be the same as the fish and chips you can order for dinner. I read how good it was in a review, but I was not impressed. It was good, but not anything spectacular. The amount of fish was a disappointment. I would have expected a larger portion of fish, but the roll dwarfed the small piece of fried fish. The Rueben was tasty. But, again I felt that they needed more corned beef. Maybe, I am used to my deli where they pile meat on a sandwich, but when you are paying $10.00-$12.00 dollars for a sandwich, please fill me up. All in all, I would go back to try the bangers and mash or a dinner size portion. It is a great place to sing Irish songs, have a beer, and play darts.

Margy C.

Yelp
It's Friday night and we're both driving home from work. Hubby gets on his phone to look for a place to go for dinner while I drive and he says how about Limerick Pub? Sure, why not. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I got the PEI Mussels (that's Prince Edward Island if you didn't know because neither the waitress nor I did) and the pork nachos as my main meal even though they were on the appetizers side of the menu. Oh boy, those mussels were perfect. It came in a tomato, garlic, red chili, bleu cheese, white wine sauce with a slice of brown bread. I was afraid of the bleu cheese as I absolutely detest it but I couldn't taste it in the broth. The mussels and the nachos were a very generous portion. When they brought the food, I was afraid I couldn't finish and I was right. Nachos were good and was pleased to see large chunks of pork. No skimping there. Just a little disappointed that it was only cheese whiz. Hubby ordered the Fish & Chips. It was three pieces of beer battered cod and house made chips. Definitely no complaints there. It was a great atmosphere and family friendly. It was a lovely night if you wanted to eat outside as well. We were impressed with the extremely friendly service. They have weeknight specials such as date night on Thursday. We're pretty sure that we'll be back.

Kyle S.

Yelp
Decor/service: the decor is average at best. It has classic Irish pub vibe in some ways but not in others. The service was average and nothing spectacular. Food did come out quick. Food: the food was good! The potato croquettes were good however the sauce that came with them could be better. The bangers and mash was really good. A great combination of flavors and the sauce for it fit perfectly.

Jason S.

Yelp
Came in while I was waiting for my car in the detail shop. Friendly locals and staff. A very good experience overall. I ordered the PEI muscles. Not bad, not great but the flavor with the addition of blue cheese was surprisingly very nice. The bartender on this Saturday, Thomas was really great. Kudos to this guy. Solid pub.

Scott A.

Yelp
I've always had a soft spot for Irish restaurants. This one is unobtrusive on the outside, but very warm and comfortable on the inside. Service is good, and the food is better. I would definitely recommend this to anybody who wants to feel like they're part of a local hang out.

Craig D.

Yelp
(4) ~ very good overall takeout experience. They send a Text &/or Email when it's ready to be picked up too;) MENU: ** Prime Rib Dip(w. au jus) = (4.25) Very tasty...kinda like an Irish Cheese Steak;)lol ** Banoffee = (4.25) Very rare Treat, although this version is lacking the Toffee Notes I crave. The Limerick Banoffee is more of a Banana Pudding Pie versus a Banoffee, but I still recommend getting it if you like Banana Pudding;) Just wish it had more Toffee Flavor:) ** Guinness Beef Stew = (4) very hearty * Irish Brown Bread = (3.5) good

Thomas Y.

Yelp
Sadly, I have to write a one star review. Food was worth the visit, atmosphere was nice, service was severely lacking. I have a ton of patience and I typically tip my server more than what is necessary or deserved but after an evening of food and drinks being coldly thrown on the table and a server that seemed to be put out that he had to wait on me I will not be returning. During a two hour stay the only time he came to ask if we needed anything was the initial order, in which he never introduced himself. To top it all off, he confronted me and tried to publicly shame me with the lousy tip and seemed to try and strong arm me to give him more. Seems as if my favorite waiter has moved on. I will be visiting this fine establishment more often.

Krystyna A.

Yelp
Wonderful food and great service. We enjoyed our prime rib and fish and chips. Lovely Irish place.

Katelyn K.

Yelp
I won't lie I had low expectations for this place, but I will admit I was very wrong. We ordered in on UberEats and everything was amazing. We started out with Shepard's Pie Potato Skins. There are two in the order, and let me totally honest - I could have just had these for dinner and been very happy. They were delicious. There was no skimping on the toppings either. My husband had the Twins of Ireland which is Shepard's pie and Guinness Stew. He enjoyed both and commented on the richness of both. I had the fish and chips. The fish was good and firm (which is how fish and chips should be). The coating was nice and fluffy. Perfect with some malt vinegar. We will be in once dining in is a thing again (and hopefully I will add that 5th star for service)

Francie G.

Yelp
Not only are the food and service great at Limerick Pub, but they are generous and understanding. They took mercy on me when I had a flat on the way to pick up a carryout order, within minutes of the pickup time. Instead of saying "too bad," they cancelled my order and refunded my money. The flat is fixed and we'll be back!

Mike B.

Yelp
Fish and Chips here are lightly battered, perfectly cooked, piled high, pieces of perfection. Chips are not the cigar-thick traditional "chips", but are regular americanized french fries. I did not taste them, so I'm gonna have to leave you in the dark about those. According to other reviews, the jury is out and it looks like it's gonna mistrial with a hung panel. But man is that Fish on the Fish and Chips good. It's so good, that I didn't even order it, but I'm insisting that you do. The person I was meeting with gave me a small taste, and it's all I can think about. I ordered the salmon sandwich, opting to switch out the fries for side salad. Good choice on my part. The side salad ( which I asked for before my meal), was surprisingly fresh and full of a mix of lettuces. I asked for balsamic vinaigrette and got some type of lemon vinaigrette ( which I believe to be their house dressing). It was very good! Reminded me of the Tessamae's Lemon Dressing, but with more flavor. The salmon was a bit over for my liking. But when piled on a sandwich with their Old Bay tartar sauce ( extra points for that), it was pretty delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to order it again knowing that their fish is fresh. I might ask for it medium though. Man, did I tell you how fresh the fish was in the Fish and Chips. It was largely flaky tender hunks of white soft filet. We also got a side of the brown bread which is an Irish favorite that I don't see served many places. It was also delicious! Limerick Pub... nice job. Food there is truly fantastic. Server was a bit difficult to get ahold of, and was a bit inattentive as she was busy both tending to the bar, and the restaurant seating. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.

Nancy S.

Yelp
Great outdoor dining in Wheaton near metro. Great variety of food including fish, veggie sausage and burger and delish burgers. Great variety of beer on tap. Pleasant meal with attentive servers.

Chauncey C.

Yelp
stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. not a very upbeat vibe. staff was nice, food average. requested that some sort of sporting event be put on tv, denied because owner will not permit channel to be changed (reruns of cash cab playing on channel).

Phil O.

Yelp
Arrived in a group of three on a Thursday evening for happy hour and a bite to eat, and the place was not busy. The lady behind the bar told us to sit anywhere, we waited a good 20 mins for service, it was only after she had come from behind the bar to service another table that she remembered we were there, she had clearly forgotten about us. We finally got menus, this happening after another couple who had come in behind us had already ordered. The food was mediocre at best, we got the fish and chips, and it was way too salty and over cooked, the saltiness and texture reminded me of a Spanish bacalao rather than a light, flakey and crispy Irish fish and chips. The fish was so salty that none of us wanted to finish it, all we wanted was ice water which we requested with the check, and we never got the water. The waiter asked if we wanted the fish boxed up and we declined the offer, I told him it was salty and tough, definitely overcooked. Our experience was overall disappointing for a $100 tab, we won't be going back there. I advise everyone to save your money, skip this pub, it's not a good value for money.

Deb G.

Yelp
We stopped in for a pint and some food without realizing there would be music. Whole normally this is something I like, that night we just wanted to chat with our friends. But I digress. The Limerick bills itself as an authentic Irish pub, but it's just too clean, too new-looking, too bright. However, the server was funny and brought our drinks quickly. We ordered some buffalo wings and Irish potato croquettes. While the wings were only ok, the croquettes were really good! I'd definitely get then again if we go back. Wheaton has a serious lack of nice watering holes, so the Limerick Pub definitely fills a gap.

Yelp
Amazing calamari. Best this side of the Mediterranean. Rubens to die for. Doggie friendly and fun.

Yelp
This is a Pokestop! Found the stone faces on top of the wall. I always enjoy coming here. Trivia night is especially fun. Friendly rivalry with good friends and try to see if you are smarter than the average bear. I highly recommend the fish and chip, it's delicious. The fish is soft and flaky while the batter is buttery crisp.

Yelp
I stopped in for the first time for lunch with my sister and dad. We started with the mussels - the mussels were cooked perfectly. The broth was light with garlic, white wine and pieces of tomato. The description stated blue cheese and red chili but those flavors were not detectable if they were in the broth. It was served with Irish soda bread, which is not the typical accompaniment and a bit odd. My sister and dad had the fish (cod) and chips, which was flakey and fried to perfection. The fish and chips were served with Limerick chips which are similar to boardwalk fries and so tasty! I had the Beyond Burger and side salad, which was delicious. The burger is grilled, plant based and served on a big toasted bun with melted cheese (on request) with tomato, lettuce onion and a pickle. They offer a variety of house wines for 6.50 a glass. Pricing and service were good. Thanks Danielle! We will be back, and a nice addition for Wheaton.

Yelp
This is a local bar for us that has nice laid back feel. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. It was one of the only businesses open during the snowzilla in 2016. We were pleasantly surprised to see the lights and signs outside welcoming pepper in from the cold when we were snowbound. I'd say the food is good but not great for my tastes. I don't find myself yearning for it. It is a great bar though with a chill atmosphere.

Yelp
Recently we met a friend for lunch at The Limerick Pub. It was quiet in the restaurant so we got to enjoy the ambiance and a very pleasant lunch. I had the soup special, which was delicious and a Bloody Mary that totally hit the spot. Rich had a veggie banger sandwich and our friend had the veggie banger without the bun. Rich chose French fries as his side and I tried one. It was delicious! And our waitress went our of her way for us. Rich's wallet had fallen out of his pocket near our table. We had decided to check out some of the other businesses in the area and when we went back to our car our waitress was frantically looking for us with the wallet. So grateful to her! Unfortunately because of the COVID virus shortly after our lunch restaurants were restricted to take-out and delivery only. When things ease we will definitely go back as we really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the good food.

Yelp
$10 Cheeseburger is on point, went for the St Patricks day live music and it was great. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The Limerick has been the go-to for hubby and me for years. We like the environment -- televisions For sports in addition to the live music. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food has been good. I even booked a lunch there for my daughter's graduation. Lately, however, I have noticed that my favorite entree -- fish and chips, has changed. I used to get a MASSIVE piece of fish with fries and cole slaw. The last couple of times the size of the fish has decreased significantly while the pile of fries is now ridiculous. And this last time no slaw and the waiter was going to bring my salad after he served the entree. I told him to forget it. The entrees are not cheap- what's up with these changes, Limerick?

Yelp
I am very fussy about restaurant food. So much of what I and others in my family have ordered from the Limerick menu is excellent! It's been one of our favorite restaurants, and now is a favorite for carry out (during the Covid 19 restrictions) . Try several different dishes and find your favorites!

Yelp
This is probably the best neighborhood pub in Wheaton. It definitely has that feel to it. Pretty sure the bartender is Irish and can swear really well if the situation calls for it. There's live music here all the time. The food is really good. I've had the burger, shepherds pie, and meat loaf. Damn that meat loaf is tasty. It reminds me of that time I was in County Kerry and old man O'Malley invited me over to hammer some nails in his barn. Well we got to hammering as we will and by the end of the day we nailed shut the door to his house and to the tractor. It was a wee bit of a pickle, but his missus made a fine meatloaf and it gave us the extra energy to undo all the doing we did. And got done. And so it goes in County Kerry.

Yelp
Wanted to eat something for lunch with my coworker. We decided to try this place out and oh man!!! This place is amazing! Great staff! Great food! Definitely coming back here to try their brunch and dinner. Lauren was my server and she is definitely made me feel welcomed.

Yelp
We have been going to the Limerick Pub since they opened. The food is always great, as is the service. It works for a quick dinner on a weeknight or a boozy date night at the bar. We are happy to have an awesome local place in the neighborhood. I could do without Wednesday's traditional session, though I know others enjoy it.

Yelp
Banger Sausage and Mash $16 (4/5 NOMs) Late night drinks and food with traditional sausages and potatoes. When enjoying a few drinks late at night you really want something that will help you enjoy even more drinks. This traditional Irish dish would make any sausage fan happy. Two nice and thick lamb and beef sausages served with a side of creamy mashed potatoes and potato croquettes. Just fell in love with this balls and sausage combination. Served with a side of very spicy mustard for some extra kick to it. Vegan Sausage $9 (4/5 NOMs) Lets dive into meatless meaty goodness! This grilled apple and sage sausage came highly recommended by one of our nomster fans. At first glance I couldn't even see the sausage, they just piled a mountain of sauteed mushrooms and onion. Sausage texture was identical to that of a real bratwurst. Comes with Guinness mustard on the side, but be careful and don't use too much. It has such a strong flavor that it might take away from the sausage. There is a lot going on and you need a big bun to hold all together. I think this is a must try for any vegetarian. Crabby Pretzel $10 (4/5 NOMs) Going to krabby shack under the sea! I couldn't pass by baked soft pretzel smothered in crab spread and cheddar cheese. More like a mountain of flavorful crabby cheesy goodness on top of soft pretzel. It's very bready so make sure to split it with a friend or two. Don't really see something like this oftent. Great starter to an adventure under the sea.

Yelp
Super-friendly staff and a nice pub environment. I showed up for a Mark Eitzel concert and plan to return thanks to the welcoming vibe I received from the manager and staff. This place is a gem in a drawer full of buttons.

Yelp
The bartender was very nice, came on a Tuesday and enjoyed the experience. Reasonable prices and good atmosphere with everything being extremely clean.

Yelp
My husband and I LOVE the Limerick Pub!! Great good and they know how to pour a mean Guinness!! I've been trying to get out there for their Wednesday Trivia night! I've been there for their live music on weekends and it was a ton of fun!!! For a great Irish evening with amazing dinner and entertainment try the Limerick Pub!!

Yelp
Perhaps it is quite fitting that an Irish Pub named after that dirty, old town, nicknamed 'stab city' - Limerick, opened in the perpetually blue collar, and oft downtrodden Wheaton, and what's more to like about this place is that it actually has the feel of a true Irish pub (not just a bar that puts up an Irish flag, a couple of Guinness posters, but has the interior design of a hooters reject and serves buckets of bud light). This place is diminutive and geometrically challenged. In other words - it's not very big and a tad cramped, but that's what the local town pub in Ireland is supposed to be like. The only thing that is missing is the charm of age, but how can you fault a pub that has just opened for business? They are still dusting away the saw dust. Now the decor in here doesn't have the genuine fake decor of a Fadó or any other Irish chain restaurant that you can name off the top of your head, but unfortunately, the interior pub design is just a bit off the mark. It is more of a hybrid the typical American style of bar design mixed with the neighborhood Irish pub. The good thing is that beer selection is very Irish (the most important aspect of a pub) and they have a very nice whiskey selection full of Irish whiskeys and Scottish single malts. Here is a sampling of what they have on tap: Bass Ale Blue Moon White Ale Carlsberg Lager Guinness Stout Magner's Hard Cider McSorley's Black Lager Miller Lite Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale Sam Adams Boston Lager Smithwick's Irish Ale The bad thing is that they don't serve their draught beer in the Irish (or imperial) sized 20 ounce pint glasses. They use the smaller, American 16 ounce pint glasses. It's a minor issue, but many Irish (as well as British) pubs in the states have been serving beer in the 20 ounce pint glasses over the past few years and my expectations for ordering a 'true' pint of Guinness at Irish pub has become the standard, not the exception these days. As for the standard 12 ounce variety, they also have a commendable bottle selection of micro and macro brews from the States and beyond. The whiskeys are too numerous to list in this review, but they are plentiful and range from the comfortably obscure to the everyday sublime. The menu is the traditional Irish fare of stews, pies, and fish and chips. I had the bangers and mash which exemplified the dependable nature of Irish cuisine - taking no risk in bold flavoring, so as to avoid offending any taste bud, but stalwart enough to please the stomach. A note for the breeders - there is a children's menu with the standard selections, so have no fear in bringing the kids into this establishment. Lastly, this pub is owned by Neil Foley, who hails from Limerick (hence the name of the pub). Whether you realize it or not, anyone who has spent time frequenting Irish pubs in DC area over the years, as I have, you have probably heard Neil play fiddle (in a number of musical incarnations) over the past 35 years while you drinking your pint away at your local Irish spot. I don't think there is an Irish themed establishment in the DC region that Neil Foley has not played music in...... including the establishments that are now defunct. Now he has his own place to play fiddle and tin whistle and that is more authentic than any piece of wood in Fadó. So,come all ye, white folks. Forsake Wheaton, no longer! The Anchor Inn may be a distant memory, but this new establishment awaits for you like a long lost lover. [Please note that the author refrained from writing limericks in the review, and also made no penis references when discussing pint sizes or describing the bangers and mash. It was difficult, but the author persevered.]

Yelp
I have been coming here since they have opened. Food and service is awesome. If you are in the Wheaton MD area, you must stop by. Rock Creek Chop House is opening up across the street in December 2015. Same owners, so I expect the same great service and food quality as Limerick.
