Located on Broad, this trendy diner is a nice place for breakfast. The exterior is really cool and reminded me of times long gone - it used to be a liquor vendor, after all. The breakfast menu offers something for anyone, and the food is good! Maybe not outstanding, but it doesn't have to be. It's a casual place to pop in and have a nice bite to eat!

Try out this brunch spot. The Ube Pancakes are amazing. The best purple sweet potato pancakes I’ve had. The place was packed with people the whole time I was there at about 11:30 on a Saturday. The theme I lots of fun with lots of Cuban and island inspired dishes and sides. There’s a large bar with plenty of room for dining together or alone. The staff hustled the whole time, but it felt like they could have used another bartender. The menus has lots of options from classic brunch favorites to its specialty menu. The location and atmosphere are fun and everyone looked like they enjoyed the food.

Memphisssssss! Please don’t miss this spot. It was a busy and hectic Saturday before Easter 🐣. So we had a 30 minute wait. The food and service were so worth it. We had such an incredible server named, Ryann. She was polite,helpful & chill in this busy establishment. The staff did not miss a beat! We tried a few different dishes ALL taste amazing with a surprising blend of flavors and spices. Everything was served beautifully. I definitely ate with my 👀 first. Breakfast tacos 🌮 with tons of freshness, French toast that needs no syrup, fluffy eggs and breakfast with no pork, turkey and veggie sausage. I can’t forget the mocha latte 🥰 and cute tequila drink all set the tone for enjoyable brunch.

Great atmosphere and decor. However, it was a tight squeeze in this cute little spot. One of the chairs was actually broken. The wraps were good, but they were supposed To have a cheesy dipping sauce. The cheesy grits were darn good. This is a fun spot, but it needs a little work on the customer service.

A cute breakfast place. The Tequila sunrise was delicious! The breakfast shot as well was so cute! It comes with a piece of bacon,a shot of whiskey and orange juice…a good starting point! The food was good too! Our waitress was nice and helpful. Definitely a place to revisit!

Spent a family birthday brunch here. Food was delish ( from the island menu and tasty pancakes), drinks were tasty, and Carol the server is lovely! Cute place with great soul. Will be back!

We loved everything about this diner! From the moment we walked in we were welcomed by the staff and taken to a table. We ordered the Pancake Stack and the Miami Cowboy and both were absolutely delicious!! The vibe here is awesome with great music and a decor showcasing their love of the flamingo and monstera plant. Additionally, the service was outstanding, in particular from Carole (the best!). I have no doubt if we are ever in Memphis again we will be back to dine in and say hi!

There were four if us. I had the Cuban plate and it was good. All the other guests enjoyed their food. Friendly service! It was a dive diner and was a fun visit.

Adorable ambiance and decor. Visited the Broad Avenue location. Cutely decorated with Christmas decor from top to bottom. This Filipino Breakfast platter was delicious. New owners, still tropically delicious and diverse menu. Service was excellent. Polite staff. Would return.

Such a big fan of this restaurant! They got some new items that I have loved! Do not miss out on the Ube Pancakes and the Pork Belly Grit Bowl. I'll be back soon to try the Burritos! They've had a lot of the same service staff for a few years. They are some of the friendliest in the city.

How can you pass up a place called The Liquor Store? And it serves Breakfast!? I was hooked. The aesthetic of the place is so cute. The staff was super friendly and helped us decide on drinks. I live up north and let me tell you the south knows how to season! The food was delicious.

Super cute tropical vibe spot with comfort food and friendly staff. We visited a few days after a snowstorm. The space and the people were warm, friendly, & inviting. The island vibes transported us from the ice and snow outside. We were seated immediately, but we had come pretty early in the day so I'm guessing there would have been a wait if we had showed up a couple of hours later. I ordered the sweet potato hash and my husband got the steak and eggs. Our food came out quick. My eggs were cooked to order and the bacon was perfect. The sweet potatoes weren't much to my liking though. I thought they would be freshly chopped and crispy, but they looked straight out of the can along with the spinach and were very mushy. I might have just gotten a bad batch, but I would not order again. Our waiter was so overly nice about it and said he would give my feedback to the cook. I honestly wasn't that put off by it though. With everything else they had to offer, I'd love to come back and try something else!

I finally got to visit the Liquor Store during their holiday Miracle pop up. The drinks, the food and the ambiance all put me in a festive mood.

Passing thru Memphis on the way to Nashville and found the Liquor Store and was not disappointed. Great service starting from the door and our food was wonderful. Loved the pancakes and could taste the vanilla. Excellent choice of juices with our mimosas, highly recommend the pineapple. Will definitely stop again soon

The food is so good! The mushroom gravy! Mimosa setups are great and not to expensive. Had a great time

I stopped here with my parents around lunch time because we saw they had all day breakfast and overall it was a good meal! The interior was really cool and everything was clean. The bartender told us to pick a seat and it took a bit for a server to bring us menus, but the server was very attentive throughout the meal. Breakfast Burger (7/10) - The bun is fairly thin and was a little burnt but the patty was delicious and there was TONS of cheese! The egg was cooked perfectly (sunny side up) and the bacon was nice and crispy! The hash browns on the side were good but nothing special. Single Pancake (6/10) - It was a good size pancake but thinner than my preference. It was a little overcooked but overall a good value for only $3.

I went with a friend a few weeks ago. It was the first day of a new drink menu and offering of a drink/shot combination. The service was great, the bartender's choice of drink/shot was solid for the price point. On that note, our server was fantastic and friendly. The vibe is casual and easy going.

I get the same thing every time. I love the chicken on this- it is marinated and seasoned to perfection. The espresso martini is also really good. Service is prompt and professional. Parking can be a challenge if it's too many people there.

I always bring friends here when they visit from out of town. The menu is varied enough that everyone can find something they like. I also love the decor and vibe of the place. Just know that on the weekends, it can get busy and you may have a long wait!

Bar tender was amazing. I had the breakfast shot 2x along with the Cuban plate for my entree. The food was good! Plaintains were a bit burnt but overall the food was hot and fresh.

Super festive atmosphere! They know how to make the holidays bright, that's for sure! Server was extremely friendly despite the packed house. We went there for breakfast but because I had read about the owners being from Cuba, I HAD to get their Cuban plate. Their chicken was delicious with the secret sauce served along side of it all. Plantains were fantastic! Husband got their breakfast tacos which were really good but the Cuban plate stole the show. This former liquor store was so cute and busy for a good reason.

Ohh oh my god! This food is so amazing not close to the local tourist attractions but the drive is so worth it. My dad thought I took him to the middle of nowhere. Then he was inquiring why we were at a liquor store after I explained that was the name of where we were going. Anyways, he got the sweet potato hash with egg whites. He left no crumbs. I got the Cuban platter with the mint watermelon lemonade. I asked to remove the alcohol I know wild request but it was just too hot for liquor. Drink was AMAZING and super refreshing. The aromas coming from my plate had me in a trance. The vegetables of the day were grilled to perfection and I don't know what they were sautéed with but I need the recipe. I got a platter of two eggs, a protein of your choice, house potatoes or hash browns, and toast or a biscuit. The eggs were ok, not cooked to my liking but I still enjoyed them. House potatoes were crispy and had good flavor. Bacon was cooked well. I also shared a serving of sopapillas with a friend which we really enjoyed. Service was great, food came out quickly and the restaurant was very cute! No complaints :)

We stopped in on the first day of the Miracle pop-up. The restaurant was very busy but a table had just opened up so no wait. Our server was amazing and gave a good rundown of the cocktails. I chose Grandma Got Ran Over by a T-Rex, absolutely delicious. My Classic Breakfast Plate was prepared without issue. My friend allowed us to taste her Cuban platter, and I fell in love. So well seasoned. We sat and enjoyed the atmosphere rhen ventured out back to take photos. They were still in the process of settling things up at that time. I enjoyed it so much I popped back in that Wednesday as a pre-birthday lunch with coworkers. Unfortunately, their closing time for that day wasn't what their social media had listed, so our outing ended abruptly. My Caipirinha was great, and I hope to visit again to order another one along with a Cuban platter.

I decided to visit The Liquor Store for breakfast. We stopped by as soon as they opened and because of that, we were able to get seated right away. I absolutely loved the over-the-top holiday decorations throughout the restaurant. I decided to try the steak and eggs and my husband tried the pancakes. The steak had good flavor and was seasoned well, but unfortunately, the texture was not the best since it was overcooked. (Ordered a medium steak, but it was well-done) My husband ordered the pancakes and they were huge. They were literally the same size as the plate they came on. I'm actually glad that I passed on them because the pancakes were just a large stack of flour...They were tasteless. There was not enough syrup in the world for those cakes! Overall, I was glad I stopped by. I will probably visit again, but will try something different next time. I will also be sure to visit after 10am so that I can try one of their cocktails.

The pancakes are the best in Memphis. They taste like cake. You don't even need syrup they are so delicious. Portions are enormous. The servers are very attentive and friendly and accommodating. I am disappointed that they don't offer bagels or any pastry. Biscuits are the only bread option that I'm aware of. Breakfast isn't breakfast without a bagel in my world but that's just me.

Wow! This adorable little place has the best vibes and furniture! I will say that it's ideal for smaller parties (1-5 people) The food was unbelievable. My boyfriend and I completely cleared out plates. It was simple yet extremely flavourful. What I enjoyed the most was how the portions were perfect and left me satisfied without feeling "icky". We did decide to order dessert and both were delicious, our personal favourite was the banana pudding The service was very kind and honest. Our server was very attentive and I enjoyed her. I will definitely be coming back and bringing friends.

Overcooked eggs, I asked for scrambled eggs and these things were a sheet of eggs. They knew that when they sent them out, brown and stiff. Cheese was not melted on my nieces eggs & they were overcooked also, stiff & basic bs. Hostess was pleasant upon entry, toast was delicious, coke was bubbly. Cute little place, ugly parking, and nothing to get excited about. 20% gratuity is added automatically to all checks, I don't mind that, but, I guess that's why the server was just okay. Like refill my coke, it's the best thing I have on the table besides my toast! The hash browns were okay too. Besides having some liquor, you could eat better at Waffle House, IHOP or heck even Krystal's IMO.

Food was great A+++.. Loved the nostalgia look and ambiance .. Service was great until our server asked if our ticket was separate when it was clearly we were a married couple #awkward & the automatic gratuity of 20% shocker for a party of 2! I could see that for a larger party (insert shrugs shoulders) .. we would have easily given the 20% or more just based on the FOOD!

Favorite breakfast spot in town. You can take anyone in the fam/group here and they will leave full and happy. I highly recommend the cheese fries they're even better w/o blue cheese in my opinion but you can go either way. An all time favorite is the Cuban pork breakfast street tacos. Steak and eggs never fails here. If you're a basic b you can always stick with the classic breakfast or breakfast burger. Full bar w/ the most suave seasonal cocktails. Great service. Cute back patio! Give em' a chance

Delicious breakfast in a funky atmosphere. Pancakes are fabulous. Our server also had the bartender make a great mocktail for brunch. It's always busy but worth a short wait.

I realllllllllly wanted to like this place. All the reviews are great and I had high hopes. On arrival we were greeted and told it would be about a 30 min wait and was told about a back bar we could wait at (even though there were multiple tables open). So we went around back and got a couple bloody mary's which were decent. When they called us for our table (which is a great feature), we were asked whether we wanted the bar or a window seat. I was kinda bummed there were no tables available, but we sat at the bar. Food: we got the sweet potato hash (4/10) and the biscuits and gravy (7/10). The hash lacked flavor and wasn't seasoned well. The gravy on the biscuits was delicious but there were WAY too many biscuits and not enough gravy. They really should do twice the gravy and half the biscuits. Food was overall average. Cocktails: we got the side car (8/10) and espresso martini (10/10). The espresso martini was the winner of the meal!!! Service: Staff was 5 stars. Overall friendly and attentive. Service was definitely slower than most places, especially when it came to the food. For 2 meals and 3 cocktails it was almost $80. That's one pricey brunch. Overall: I don't know if I would go back. For the price I don't think it was worth it. I'll give it another chance once they have their full menu up (bring the eggs Benedict back!).

Everything was amazing the Biscuit Beignets were amazing. Steak & eggs were great steak was seasoned and the home fries were crispy and crunchy.

Severe disappointment today. This was my guaranteed go to place in Memphis. What happened? Red flags popped up today. For breakfast, ordered my sweet potato hash. "Sorry, we are out of spinach" What? That's misrepresenting to your customers. I come to TLS because they serve their breakfasts with vegetables. If you are short of any of the ingredients that make you special, you should close or put a huge sign informing your customer that you screwed up"p

I love the original authentic diner feel. Our waitress was cool but it did take a while to get our food & drinks. It's nothing fancy but it's a nice gem. The food was cool and they have this sauce I added to my sandwich cause it was a little dry but good. I would go back because I love the vibe. Asian manager was sweet, he did take a drink off due to how long it took, so cumulative 4 for service, vibes, and food, they also have a patio that seemed nice to sit on!

This was my first time patronizing with this place. It appears to be a nice place to eat, but I won't be going back! Had lunch there today with a friend and there were just a few other guests there - so it wasnt crowded. They added a 20% gratuity to the check on top of the nearly 20% tip I left. Not a good practice for small parties and it's unethical if you don't let the guests know in advance that the gratuity will be added or has been added.

On a dreary 100 degree day it was a good place that brightened our day. Four of us came to celebrate our friends getting married and had a little brunch. All of the food were great except for the biscuit beignets. The biscuit beignets were dense and almost felt like they were raw on the inside because of how dense it was. Great idea to utilize the biscuit into beignets but I feel like they need to go about it in a different way so it doesn't taste and feel as dense. Pros: - plenty of parking - not very loud and a quaint little place - some of the food tastes good - good potion (didn't expect my yogurt and granola to be this big) - plenty of great drink/ cocktail options - aesthetically pleasing for the insta baddies Cons - wouldn't recommend the biscuit beignets - not super big, so on weekends I'm sure the wait times a little longer

The Liquor Store has been near the top of my Memphis restaurant bucket list for months. Given its popularity and smaller size, I knew our wait might be long, so I wasn't surprised when the hostess told us it would be an hour. But thankfully, it turned out to only be about 20 minutes. We started with an order of the biscuit beignets, which was hands down the highlight of the meal. While they're made of fried biscuit dough, from a texture and consistency standpoint, they seemed more like sweet hushpuppies (which I love). They aren't the easiest to eat since the coating is so dense and crispy, so proceed with caution if using a fork and knife so that your beignet isn't launched across the table. But the inside of each beignet was soft, fluffy and warm. I easily could've eaten an entire order myself. For my entree, after much deliberation, I ordered the Pancake Stack -- two massive pancakes served with two eggs and a breakfast meat, which I substituted for a biscuit (which was also massive). The pancakes tasted like they were griddled in bacon fat, the flavor of which overpowered any flavor the pancake had. As someone who admittedly doesn't like bacon, it rendered the pancakes almost inedible. I struggled to finish half of one. I've eaten pancakes all over the country and have never had one taste like bacon grease -- maybe the griddle needed cleaning? The biscuit was good (again, massive) with a slightly crusty outer shell but soft and fluffy on the inside. The scrambled eggs were fairly standard -- they were fine. I loved the interior of the restaurant which was decorated for the holiday season. The service was decent but rather slow. This definitely isn't a place for a quick lunch. Overall, aside from the biscuit beignets, I wasn't blown away by my food. A lot of the other items on the menu sounded delicious, but if they're cooked on the same griddle as the pancakes, I worry that they too might be overpowered by the taste of bacon fat. I won't rush back anytime soon, but I would certainly be willing to give The Liquor Store another shot, no pun intended.

Very good overall. We went to the old location on Broad St a few years ago and although the food was good- the ambience was lacking. This new location on Mendenhall near the Hen House checks all the boxes- Vibe check. Cleanliness check. Good goodcheck. Drinks- check!

This is one of my brunch go-to's! Love the unique and delicious offerings, atmosphere and the team is very friendly. The breakfast banh mi and plantains are my fave!

Food was below par. Biscuits were atrocious. But the restaurant thinks so highly that they sneak in an automatic 20 percent tip automatically in your bill. Be aware! Don't add additional tip!!!!

Food was great and worth the visit. American-style breakfast with a bit of a Cuban and Latin twist. Enjoyed every bit of their pancakes with eggs and pulled pork. Service was spot on at the bar too. I recommend going early for a seat at the table. Ambience was nice, just a bit smoky inside but acceptable with the food they kept putting out.

Baby when I tell you this was a great experience. It's always fun when hanging with the sistas. Once we parked which was plentiful, we were seated immediately. Two of us ordered yakitiy Yak which came in the Santa mug and the T-rex was pretty cool also. The drinks are not lacking good libations and the food was flavorful. I love they have vegan options and fresh ingredients. The decor was cute for the occasion and the host was a great vibe don't remember his name but he was on point, the whole staff was great. Yall get down there and enjoy.

Food was horrible or the breakfast she said the biscuits are great my 10-year-old grandson could've did that and better horrible biscuits so hard and dry.. service was good. Parking was great would not go back again. If the breakfast is not good, nothing else would be good. The coffee was horrible. The cappuccino I ordered was not a cappuccino. I don't know what that was.

Went for breakfast had a egg sandwich. It was good. Homemade biscuit the best part. Good price. Fresh fruit was pineapple, blueberries and strawberries. Nice service. Pick Up Your own silverware when entering.

We had Annabelle as our server. .. Great service. The food was tasty and filling. The ambiance was definitely laid back. No wait.... Wasn't aware of the auto gratuity, but Annabelle was gonna get that anyways..

Food was overall delicious! Steak was seasoned well and didn't need any sauce. Pancakes tasted like funnel cakes, which I loved! Bathroom is a plus for a cute photo op. Enjoyed my birthday brunch and will return. Saturdays are super busy and can be very loud, but they do have a patio.

The service here was great! My sandwich took a bit so he brought me over some bacon to snack on and hooked me up with a drink. I had the Cuban sammie and it was soooo good! The rosemary drink was also on point! But not to forget , the maduros!!! I could have made a meal out of just that!

Me and my friend found this place by complete surprise. The atmosphere was so relaxing. Let me start by saying the service was very timely an professional to only have two staff member working. The mimosas were great the set up was worth it for a whole bottle for us. I got the steak an eggs which was ok the steak said ribeye but I feel like they are more breakfast steaks. I wanted it medium well an it was well done. But still ate it. Memphis doesn't really have places with steaks cooked as order. I was hungry on a Thursday morning and was really craving breakfast/brunch, but wanted to try somewhere new. Thanks to Yelp, I found this place and decided to give it a try, as it had pretty good reviews. I was able to easily make a reservation online and when we arrived they were ready for us. Once inside, it's a cute little unique spot. There isn't a whole lot of seating, so be sure to snag a reservation. Now, the food. We ordered biscuit beignets to start. I'll be honest, they were a little on the burnt side. They were still tasty, but I just wished they would've been a little softer/lighter. My boyfriend ordered the Pancakes Stack and added a side of hash browns. I ordered the Classic Breakfast Plate and added one pancake. You get a nice portion for your money and overall, the food was pretty good. I'll be sure to visit again.

This place is truly an upscale Waffle House! It's very small in the inside. It's setup like a Waffle House. Food was great! And we got the mimosa flight for $27! We waited about an hour but we were able to wait in the car which is great since it's very small there. Food took about 30 mins but was very good and fresh! Will def go back!

Delicious food and drinks! The wait was over an hour but well worth it! Great service as well! Will definitely be returning when I'm back in Memphis.

(Lol we just got the mimosa kit) I'm high key sad I didn't get any good food pictures (lol the mimosas was kicking in by the time the food came) so this will have to do. It's okay. Not bad, not great, just okay. The biscuit was dry as crap....it was super thick but unbelievably dry. Like how can they be this dry when they're so large? The steak and eggs were pretty good, basic. The Hashbrown weren't good....they were strange.
