Long Review Alert!
My family and I, party of 9, then 11 came to the restaurant today a little after 9. The restaurant was not crowded. After we declined to sit outside, we were told a 20 minute wait. We even offered to sit apart as separate parties and were told by the hostess, Raelyn, (spelling) that we could not and even though they were empty, the booths, near the window section were not open. Therefore, we would have to wait. We said ok. After a while, I checked in with Raelyn to ask if the restaurant, considering the space, was capable of seating a party of 9. Sometimes places are short staffed and other times restaurants just are not able to, due to space, handle a large party. That is ok. She responded to me about a 20 minute wait time and told me that it had not been 20 minutes. Firstly, I never asked about a wait time, I asked her about the restaurant’s ability to handle a large party. Raelyn, it is ok to not know the answer to a question. Just say, I am not sure and find someone who can provide an answer. Secondly, her tone was very off. She definitely needs a refresher on customer experience and perhaps she needs to be in the back when she is not having a good day. The hostess/ host is the first person one encounters when entering a restaurant. That person sets the tone for the dining experience. After my conversation with her, the experience continued to go downhill. We should have left. We were finally seated and miraculously after we were, the booth section that Raelyn told us was closed, opened. 🙄 Despite our waitress, Ms. Carol, entering our orders correctly in the system, we checked our tickets, food items came late, were missing, was
cold, and had to be sent back. Most of us did not finish our food and NO ONE took any leftovers. Perhaps the experience would have been better in a smaller party.
Now the 5 stars for service is ONLY for Ms. Carol, our waitress. She is the epitome of customer experience, retention, and service. Ms. Carol was attentive, had our orders correct and was the MOST pleasant person at this restaurant I encountered. She was so wonderful that I tipped her extra on the 20% gratuity!
Overall, my experience here was lackluster and the food was just mediocre.
