We were driving far into Pennsylvania to buy something on Facebook Marketplace. When you get into rural areas alot of places to eat close as early as 8 PM! So I was happy to find a place with a kitchen open till 11 PM!!! With good reviews!!! When I called to confirm, the bartender was like “see you soon!” Charlie is so friendly and a fantastic server, as are his coworkers! OK on to the food… the food here is not ordinary bar food… it is excellent restaurant food! They have daily bargain specials like smoked wings and pirogies… so delicious!!! Had a sausage sandwich with fries also excellent! A side salad… excellent!!! And of course there is the bar!!! They have an ENORMOUS selection of beers on tap and canned. So much to choose. We had a cranberry mango Ipso Lacto and a Peach beer. Thank you for your hospitality, Charlie!!!

Cozy little place with a big craft draft list and excellent food for great price! I got the seafood trio. Salmon, shrimp, crab cakes and Parmesan risotto. I would normally expect to pay north of $36 dollars anyway we else but for an incredible $22 it was an easy choice and wow absolutely amazing. Hard to believe they’re making this high level of food in such a small town. Would definitely visit again and highly recommend.

Visited PA during Christmas to see my boyfriends family and where he grew up. Said that this place had a special on pairing a bourbon with a beer. The bartenders had no idea about it (maybe the owner did it once for him) but Charlie did his best with matching us both with a bourbon and beer. He paired me with a beer that tasted like a waffle, it was insane, and a bourbon that had a sweeter side to it. Great customer service from Charlie and had a great time overall!

We ate here for the first the other week and it was amazing!. We did the crap dip bowl appetizer, caesar salad, elk burger and seafood trio. Food was ready in a timely manner, service was excellent and the owner gave great conversation. We will be returning.

Driving back from Florida to Upstate NY and always want to support local restaurants! Stopped here and so glad we did. Excellent service, food was top notch and if we lived closer we would be there every week! Atmosphere was very welcoming and the owner was kind and accommodating. Definitely will be back. Stop if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed!

I had heard alot of talk about this place from coworkers. Now I see why. The bartender (Chris I believe) was so friendly and knowledgeable about the beers. The lobster bisque and slider flight were awesome. Nice laid back atmosphere. The only real issue we had is the cup of mayonnaise my husband ordered to go with his bison burger and fries tasted off. Like there was rubbing alcohol in the cup. Other than that, top tier experience.

Don't skip this place if you are nearby! We are out-of-towners here for a high school music show so we needed a good place for a family of 7 to grab a bite. This spot did not disappoint. All the reviews were true! We ate a good portion of the menu including burgers, steaks, ribs, pasta, and steak tips. Get the Truffle fries!! Side note - while parking up the street we actually ran into the bartenders super friendly dad. Great little town!!

My family was traveling and decided to try this place after reading the reviews. We are so glad we did. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. I love that they have local artists work for sale on the walls. The food was delicious. I had the winter salad with grilled pears. My son had the classic panini and my husband had the elk burger. Everything was fresh and well made. The fresh cut French fries are awesome! We will be stopping here again on future adventures.

Wow we were in town visiting family and we went into Yelp and this location was highly recommended. Well Yelp didn't disappoint!! Small cozy restaurant with really good food and excellent service. It has that small town feel with big city menu. They have a great beer selection so if you're a beer connoisseur this restaurant will not dissapoint. Definitely will return in the future.

This cozy local gem in Minersville has a long bar when you walk in and a few tables in the back for larger groups but is on the smaller side. The wait was a little longer than we'd expect but we believe they were understaffed for the New Year's. We started with the vegetable eggrolls that the table next to us ordered 2 rounds of, so we had experience that. Eggrolls had a great crisp and the inside melted in your mouth. The Asian dip doubled for this dish and the fries which I loved. The tomato soup was extra creamy along with grilled cheese & fries. Definitely a big dish for one sitting but the soup was top 5 our favorite. My chicken crab dish was delicious and packed a big seafood punch. Do wish it had more crab chunks within the cream sauce. Few big pieces of juicy chicken were submerged under delicious rice & asparagus. This meal was super filling & satisfying on many levels.

Food and service were great! Tried this spot based on recommendations off of yelp. We weren't sure what to think based on the outside, but ended up being pleasantly surprised.

Parking for this establishment was terrible. Very small inside, sat at the bar, beer was warm, food was cold. Had a couple of apps, perogies were dry tasted frozen. Brussels were oily, and the beef was tough and chewey. Service was okay, new bartender. He was trying. Would not return.

We've been here before and are returning! Great old time setting of the typical old style Coal Miners bar of Schuylkill county with a brass rail wooden bar tin ceilings and hardwood floors. We didn't have reservations but we sat near the bar at the raised tables and we were comfortable. I ordered an Oatmeal Stout Beer it was very cold and very good. My meal was the Bourbon Sirloin Tips bourbon glazed sirloin with onions & mushrooms served with roasted potatoes and Topped with melted cheddar cheese. The sauce with the meal was delicious the sirloin tips were a bit inconsistent on tenderness some pieces were chewy and others were very tender. Mushrooms and onions & potatoes were perfect companions. My wife ordered the Cajun Chicken Tortellini Grilled Cajun chicken and diced tomatoes in a creamy alfredo with tri-colored tortellini.. This dish is rich but it lacked the flavor of Cajun Seasoning & was overpowered by the Alfredo sauce. The tortellini was nice but my wife commented it might even be better with a lighter pasta like an angel hair! The Service and staff are very friendly & attentive. Trying not to be a negative review our meals came out very hot and overall The Little Brown Barrel serves up a nice meal.

Perfect little pub in a small little town we happened to be driving through. Very inviting atmosphere. The menu looked amazing and had a variety of options. Food came out and it was amazing and very picturesque. The service was quick and beer and food were both provided quickly. Definitely a must stop if you're passing through!

Very cute spot with a lot of charm. Had an amazing lavender martini that was well balanced and the staff there was so kind. They had a puppy there that day that me and my family enjoyed being able to play with which elevated the experience so much more! Great drinks, convenient location, would reccomend!

Great selection if beers. Just a bit overwhelming, but lots to choose from. I had the Bison burger and it was so juicy and delicious.

My wife and I went to Cabelas and when leaving decided to find someplace different to eat. We were about 30 minutes away from this place but saw it had a 4.8 rating. We are so glad we went! It's a small corner pub with great food and atmosphere. We sat at the bar and Charlie took great care of us. Definitely worth the trip. Definitely will be going back!

Hands down 5 stars. Not just cause it's "good for the area." It's cause it's just DAMN GOOD FOOD. We found this gem by trusting the Yelp community. Holy cow, yinz mailed it! Hubby and I were in Pottsville for a function at my job. For the FIRST TIME EVER as a Yelper, I want to give 6 stars. The owner was super personable, the bartender was awesome (it was her 2nd shift and she knocked it outta the park with chocolate martinis). I had the French dip, and can say it def tanks in top 3. Everyone else had the panini and that all loved it. Fries were fresh. Owner threw in a piece of limoncello cake that was perfectly balanced. I can honestly say that this experience was our BEST restaurant experience this year thus far. Bread was lightly toasted and crispy. The ciabatta bread was not hard or chewy. The veggies were FRESH, and that makes a noticeable difference. Decor was intimate inside, and very tastefully decorated outside with the ability to cook s'mores (they offered us since it was closing and the private party that had rented the space had left). We met friends from the area for dinner, and they never knew this gem existed, I'll make this a regular stop when I'm driving through to my home office. If I could teleport one restaurant to my home town of PGH, it would be this one. Thank you for an incredible experience.

My wife and I searched Yelp for a place to eat when on our way to Wilkes-Barre for a concert. This place had a lot of good reviews and high ratings comparatively. We were pleasantly surprised with the menu and everything that we had was really, really good. The chef/owner, super nice guy, quite the talker, made his rounds...touched base with all the guests. The waitresses were super nice and attentive. The drinks from the bartender were again, surprisingly, near perfect. Listen. For where this place is located... in an old mining town surrounded by hunting camps... you will not find a better place to eat and drink. Don't expect the Taj Mahal, just enjoy the company and eat good food...for a very reasonable price.

Simply amazing! The wait staff was so friendly and the owner was very personable with us , made us feel like we knew them forever. The food was fantastic. The chicken bacon Mac and cheese was phenomenal!! Large portions definitely a 3 day meal. The broccoli and cheese soup was delicious. Can't wait to be back. The atmosphere was a cozy pub feel

Small town excellence in the world of craft beers and appetizers enthusiasts. In town for a baseball game and came across this gem. Extensive can/bottle and draft selection for every taste bud. Add on $1 pierogi night and you get one happy customer. Bartender was fantastic, great conversation giving me the history of the bar. A must stop if your in the area.

The French Dip sandwich and hand cut French fries were delicious! Service was excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Be prepared to experience the best burger around. Locally sourced beef that is tender and juicy. The artwork on the walls are also impressive. They are for sale too. Very attentive staff and we even got to see Santa cruise through town.

We were traveling back to Connecticut from Maryland and were looking for a place for early dinner on a Sunday. I thought we are in the middle of nowhere on the highway. And boom this place comes up with high ratings like 15 minutes away. So we decided to try this hidden gem as it was rated by other Yelpers . It was perfect . Got to talk with the owner Steve . Nice guy, great chef, but from speaking with him I think the local folks don't appreciate his talents. We did . Thanks for the great drinks and delicious food. At good prices. Please give this place a try if your in the area or traveling on the highway.

We stopped in on our way north after a long day of traveling and are so glad we did! Live music, friendly service, great beer/cocktail menu, and well curated, well executed menu! Everything was terrific and we look forward to returning. Well done'

Stopped in for Lunch. Nostalgic place, it is very open but a cozy feel. Menu is small, but I think it covers all bases. I ordered the 8oz (1/2 lb) Cheeseburger with fries, FRESH CUT fries.. I do not understand why more places do not do this. It is simple, potatoes are cheap and the end product is so much better than frozen fries. Anyway.... Burger was cooked perfect (went medium well this time) very juicy, the lettuce and tomato were fresh. Roll was a little heavy, but very good. Just my personal preference. Fries were cooked perfect as well, and just enough salt. For $12 this was a no brainer. Would have been just as much or more if you went to the arches or the king. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Chatted with the owner a bit. I will be back for sure !!!

I have been here a few times. Use to be great. I wanted to contribute to the economy of the area. The owner wanting to save money has changed the menu to cheap bar food drenched with oil. Don't eat the meat. It's disgusting low quality. Flies were everywhere. The owner refused to replace my salad with one with no meat. I ordered fries and even the fries were soggy and gross with pieces of old beef mixed through them and again would not replace with meatless fries. My last time there. I had to pay to park.

Welcomed us near closing after a busy Mother's Day. Great service and ambiance. Amazing bar offerings: 81 beers on tap, and 153 whiskeys. Delicious cream of asparagus soup, fish and chips: perfectly prepared, two thick pieces of cod and lots of fries. All homemade and well presented. Reasonable prices. Pleased to have landed at this quality eatery in an otherwise so so dining area.

Good food and reasonable prices too. We went there after going to the Yuengling brewery tour. It was very good food and owner is very personable too.

What a sweet spot in Minersville! The atmosphere is inviting and the wait staff attentive. We started with delicious crab dip. Had a cup of tasty lobster bisque. The steak was perfectly medium rare. We'll be back.

This spot was excellent find thanks to the great reviews - the food was amazing and well made , it was slow but the craftsmanship to make the meal was very noticed. The burger , appetizers were good portioned and tasty. Would highly recommend and the friendly bartender / waitress was someone you'd marry tomorrow ... if we're in the area again would love to return to this small in size not stature place

My wife and I stumbled upon this hidden gem while vacationing in Pennsylvania. Hands on owner/chef is detailed oriented, along with helpful and accommodating staff. Great sandwiches that you can pair with a great selection of draft beers from a wide assortment of diverse breweries. Great atmosphere along with artwork from local artisans. Highly recommended.

New to area and so happy to have found this place. Food is so delicious. Friendly staff. We will definitely be back often.

I am a huge roast chicken fan. i get it every where I go. Tonight's dinner was far superior to anything I have had before I learned the sous vied the chicken and it is spectacular

Not a huge establishment, but the food is extremely large in flavor. Absolutely love this place. The young chef puts out absolutely terrific tasting food. Try it for yourself.

I found this place on google maps and have become obsessed with it!! The crab mac and cheese is to DIE FOR!! The blue mermaid beverage too!! They do specials every week and I tried their Elk, was very delicious. The suos verde chicken is so delicious as well. I make sure to stop here every time i'm in the area!! Please go and enjoy the food!! You must try multiple things off the menu!!

My buddies and I are already planning on a motorcycle ride here for lunch... And we live in Fredericksburg VA. Pierogies, venison burger, black and blue burger, French dip, truffle fries - fantastic.

Randomly stopped at this restaurant based on the rave reviews on Yelp and I have to say....it lived up to the hype. Tons of craft beers to try, servers were extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. We had a party of 10 and literally every person commented how delicious their meals were. I personally had the French Dip, which I would highly recommend. Like me, you have probably driven past this place 15 times and never even noticed it was there. Stop and grab dinner at this hidden gem, you won't be disappointed.

My girlfriend and I were heading up the the Poconos for a girls weekend. We wanted a quaint dinner spot for on our way up, and Little Brown Barrel caught our eye on Yelp. Boy, were we pleased! This was the perfect place. From the lavender lemon drop martini to the Summer Stew; we were very pleased.

Food and energy were great . Not to mention the environment was relaxed and friendly. Service was fast and waiter was friendly.

My wife and I went for my birthday. We went based on reviews, but for some reason it never occurred to me that the name suggested an outstanding selection of bourbons and craft beers. I got into a bourbon conversation with a bartender named Steve, who I later discovered was the owner. Very knowledgable. And incredibly friendly and hard-working. After I discovered that the Pappy Van Winkle 15 year was out of my price range, he suggested a couple of more reasonable alternatives. I had two, and then finished with a nice stout beer I'd never had. Dinner was delicious. I started with the lobster bisque, while my wife had the squash soup. Both were very very good. As an entree, I got the sesame tuna. I asked for it rare, and was told that's what they do (and should). My wife raved about the tavern chicken panini, which she paired with a chardonnay. Friendly service, great atmosphere, delicious food and an excellent bourbon and craft selection. This was my first visit here, but certainly won't be my last.

I went on a slow Saturday afternoon and I can honestly say it was a truly pleasant visit. It is a cozy bar/restaurant that has excellent service and really good food. The owner made a point to strike up a conversation and was very friendly. The lobster bisque my wife and I ordered was great. My son and I ordered burgers and they were truly great, good crust with tender inside. The owner shared plans to expand the restaurant into the adjacent lot and I look forward to coming back and seeing it complete. Definitely worth the stop if you happen to be in this small town.

We came into town from Syracuse and found this adorable pub! What a diamond in the rough! Steve the owner was very friendly as well as the bartender Morgan! If you ever get to Minersville don't pass this place up! We will be back! Food was amazing!! Presentation was perfect! They even brought a piece of Italian cake out for my husbands birthday! I highly recommend this place!

My husband and I eat here regularly. Their food has consistent quality and the dishes are on point. Their specials never disappoint and for a non-beer drinking patron like myself, their seasonal cocktail menu gives me plenty of options to choose from. They occasionally have live music and a comedy night. I love this place!! A gem in our little town for sure!!

This place is a must. Very small restaurant but the food is really really good. Plenty of off street parking and service was satisfactory. Very dark inside if you like that type of atmosphere.

A real hidden gem ! We love going here all their Menu items are Delicious plus the servers are friendly and do a great job. The owner is usually there and he always talks to us and Thanks us for coming. Highly recommend them.

I'll start out with the owner seems like a nice guy and is the main reason he's even getting 3 stars. I think he really wants to do well but as a manager with an insurance company for 25 years all we deal with is customer service, so I can tell you this. Never have arguments with employees in front of customers, it doesn't look good. And make sure you have a team meeting with your employees advising the same. If they have an issue, take it back behind closed doors, never out in front of the customers. Now onto the food. They do smoked wings but then put a wing sauce on them. Huge no no. Either do smoked wings or do deep fried wings with flavors. I think the wings could be really good but you can't flavor sauce smoked wings. The entrée was the New York strip. It was a very nice size cut of beef but loaded with butter and garlic on top so the first bite was a mouth full of garlic. Even with that, it had no taste to the steak itself. The problem was it had no sear to it at all and once you scraped the garlic off it was bland with no seasoning. I will be back to give this place another try bc like I said, the owner seemed pretty stressed that day, I want him to succeed, and I truly believe he's a nice guy. But his food has to be looked at closely. Hopefully when I come back things will be better.

Just wow! Food is "off the hook". Service is Impeccable! Atmosphere is fantastic!!! Can't go wrong. Go here!! I think my first 5.
