The Best Wine Bars in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"This under-the-radar backyard wine garden in Algiers Point is such a charmer, made for the neighborhood and loved by its residents in return. Enjoy some fizzy natural pours, trivia nights, live music, and rotating snacks and small plates in the least pretentious setting imaginable for a wine bar. You might just make a new friend, and are likely to leave with a renewed appreciation for wine and kind humans." - Clair Lorell

"Head to The Little House just once and you’ll be wishing it was in your neighborhood. Cocktails and wine abound — the place is set up like a bottle shop, with great discounts depending on the day, a breezy backyard for hanging and always snacks, and the occasional pop-up It’s like a mini Bacchanal, with shrimp boils and live trivia. What a sweet little place! I love how we were greeted as soon as we walked in and given a rundown of the menu and the knowledge of each wine/drink. We appreciated the service, vibes, and would definitely return.

This place gave us such a great experience (and the drinks are phenomenal). We got the Pate, the Salad Board and the Shrimp Banh Mi sandwich to split between the 4 of us. Really enjoyed the wine selection - they have wines from so many regions and of so many types it was hard to settle on one or the other but the bartender was very gracious to allow us to have small samples before we purchased to make sure that we liked what we were getting - super awesome of her! The vibe is sooo chilled-out and its not noisy so its easy to talk to one another. We sat outside in the courtyard - you can see the CCC bridge lights and down town from the resturant. This place is now our regular spot! It is on the West Bank in Algiers Point so walking distance from the Ferry Boat from Canal St. Totally recommend!!!

If you want to chill out and enjoy a glass, bottle or a mixed offering The Little House is a hidden gem in the Point. Service is great and the atmosphere and selection slaps. A must go it you are in the vicinity.

The best spot for wine, live music, and vibes! Great food too! Follow them on socials for fun pop-ups and crawfish boil nights.

Google
Such a great neighborhood spot!! The outdoor area is amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful in suggesting wines that they have both by the bottle and by the glass from all over, and the food was delicious!

I was thinking the other day, "you know, there just isn't enough places with outdoor tubs to just vibe in." Guess what, this place has double tubs, double wine menu, double random kids, double music, double boiled peanuts.

Google
Intimate atmosphere with Artesian small plates, full bar and a range of amazing wines. Have been here twice and we were so impressed. I want to be selfish and not share the secret but this has become a a favorite for me.

Yelp
Ohhhhh I may never leave Algiers now. Kicking myself for not patronizing the little house sooner. After seeing the build on this place months ago and people utilizing the back yard area, I wondered what sort of place it was. Recently I suggested to a friend that we should stop in for a drink if it was open ......and As I opened the door, the Seas parted! The perfect little oasis right here in my own backyard. What out Bacchanal there's a new kid in town. The little house offers wine as well as select beers and cocktails. A bit peckish? they got you covered here too. Offering small bites, boards and salads. Everything I've tried so far has been a feast for the eyes and a delight for the belly. Happy hour is from 4-6 and features a revolving choice of 5$ wines. I enjoyed a crisp citrus white with the "hunk o cheese" What a fantastic addition to the neighborhood!

Yelp
Tucked away quite and cute spot. I had a business meeting there yesterday. The staff was responsive and polite. As many times as I have tried hummus I've never liked it until now.

Yelp
I was starving and this was on the list to hopefully try out. (The taco place several blocks away may have been a better choice for what we really wanted but this was fine.) We weren't into alcohol that night, just some food. Most of the patrons were meeting up for drinks only, it appeared. Our sandwiches were a bit spendy and tasted fine but not out of this world. Got to eat outside which made things better. If you're after a meal, this is ok, if you're after drinks (wine) this is your place.

Yelp
What a lovely little spot! The wine selections are on point and they have beer and cocktails too!!! Most of their seating is outside and they have heaters on this chilly December evening. But their are a few bar seats inside Happy hour was a great deal (4-6) weekdays with $5 wine pours. Everything we ate and drank was delicious! And the wine selection was great plus the women running the shop were knowledgeable and friendly. Parking was easy peasy in the street. Great spot for a friend hangout!

Yelp
I visited this place on 2/4/2025, wanting to grab a glass of wine and a slice of king cake before catching the ferry to see the lights in Jackson Square. I'm from Algiers and currently live in Algiers, and been wanted to give this place a try. My experience didn't go as I would have liked, but mind you I frequent a pub in Algiers that's mainly all white and never felt uncomfortable. I was hoping for a warm and welcoming atmosphere, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. From the moment I walked in, the staff seemed more focused on their conversations than on greeting customers. A simple "hello" or smile would have gone a long way. One employee looked up at me and continued his conversation. The customers even looked at me like I was in the wrong place, so feeling uncomfortable I left. I understand that everyone has off days, but a friendly demeanor is essential in the hospitality industry. I hope this feedback helps improve their customer service because the atmosphere has potential.

Yelp
What a phenomenal experience at a wonderful location! The folks who are privileged to work here are wonderful and they know their stuff. Algiers was the best part of our trip to New Orleans and The Little House was the best part of Algiers. Three nights in town for a friend's anniversary and we were here each of those nights.

Yelp
We took the ferry over across the river from the French Quarter. We stumbled upon this cute little place. They were super friendly. While we didn't try the wine we did get the pate as a snack. It was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this little spot.

Yelp
Funky, cute with amazing owners Be sure to get the sangria firing happy hour and some pimento cheese One of the best places across the bridge to spend a warm Nola evening

Yelp
Really good. Really yummy , and there was a friendly cat. The lady at the register was very informative and helped me pick the wine I wanted.

Yelp
We took the foot ferry to Algiers and stumbled on this gem of a spot, about a ten minute walk from the ferry terminal. So cool. The staff is welcoming, the drinks amazing, and the outdoor seating on a sunny afternoon couldn't be better. Go, sit outdoors, and you'll feel like a local.

Yelp
An excellent establishment that I am so thankful for opening. Many wines to choose from with very friend and attentive people working there. The yard is lovely. Our little neighborhood has been yearning for something like this. Ambience is great.

Yelp
I love this place! Great food and wine, and an amazing outdoor space for enjoying them. Bring the kids, dogs, your date, whatever. Just awesome! The owner and staff were also top notch.
