So pleasant to sit outside with my friend and colleague and enjoy a delicious lunch and a yummy cocktail. I had the Prickly Pear Margarita and the Grand Mere sandwich, which had Brie cheese chicken breast and arugula with aoili on some lovely crusty bread. My friend had the Pear Blosdom cocktail and the Butternut Squasy Ravioli, topped, by special request, with roasted pears! We finished with a Pear tart with ice-cream. It was a most excellent lunch. Our server was very good also. Highly recommend.

I had an amazing dining experience at The Little Pear* in Walnut Creek! Their American-California cuisine is top-notch. I started with the French onion soup, which was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cheesy. For my main course, I went with the Bistro Burger adding a sunny-side-up egg and paired it with their truffle fries and small Caesar Salad, absolutely delicious! Every bite was packed with flavor, and the quality of the ingredients was evident. I highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back!

Google
The Little Pear is an absolute gem in Walnut Creek. Their breakfast is easily one of the best in town—every dish is made with care, and the flavors are spot on. The lunch menu is refreshingly unique, with creative offerings like pear flatbreads, beer cheese, and hearty options like stews and briskets. It’s the perfect mix of comfort food and bistro-style innovation. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic American dish or something with a gourmet twist, this place delivers every time.

I've been to The Peasant and the Pear in Danville a lot. I've been to a few of the other restaurants by Rodney Worth as well. It is a bit formulaic. No real surprises. You go there because you know what you're going to get. It was the first time for us at this restaurant. I had the short rib and it was magical! I was very surprised and I enjoyed every minute of it. I would have this again in a minute On the other hand, my husband ordered the beef stroganoff. And what we were expecting is that beautiful creamy white sauce with the great mouth feel. This was more brothy sauce. Would not order this at all again. It may have been an interpretation of beef stroganoff, but that's a classic comfort food and what we got was not what we were expecting.

Nice little spot we found for lunch during the week. We were a party of 7, with a toddler, and we're seated right away. To start i got the french onion soup, which was very good and flavorful. For lunch I got the nashville hot chicken and the tomato soup as my side. The hot chicken sandwich was fire and came with a nice coleslaw. The tomato soup wasn't great, just tasted like tomato puree and paste. My son got the chicken fingers and fries which came out fast and were good. The service was great and very friendly. Everyone else we were with seemed to enjoy their food as well. Definitely recommend for a nice quick lunch.

Google
Had the beef stroganoff, meat was tough served with linguine and a bowl of sauce. Shrimp Loius salad was ok but nothing that you couldn’t make at home. Sourdough bread was frozen bread heated in oven and by the time it cooled down it was chewy and elastic. Disappointing to say the least. I love supporting local but in today’s economy appreciate effort when dining out.

Google
We love The Peasant & The Pear so were very excited to go here. The food was absolutely amazing, we honestly wanted to try every single thing on the menu. Unfortunately the service was not so good. We had to wait to be seated even though the place was pretty empty, no one greeted us, we sat for 40 minutes before even getting waters. The couple next to us finished eating before we even got our food and they were sat after us. I hope our server was just having a bad day (happens to everyone) but I think we'll just be driving to The Peasant & The Pear in Danville next time. The food is for sure worth the price but we expected better service too.

Google
We have been trying to get down here for a long time and finally managed to do it today. We had checked first to ensure that they had outdoor seating so our puppy would be well taken care of. Staff greeted us outside, got water for the dog. Made sure we had what we needed but we had failed to check to see when the regular menu would kick in. Brunch runs 10 to 1 on weekends and starting at 11:00 the regular menu kicks in. They were willing to prepare us French onion soup while we sat outside which was absolutely beyond delicious. Not iver cooked. Not over salted and then I had the filet black and blue salad and my husband had the grand mare sandwich. Everything was absolutely perfect and we couldn't have been happier. We will definitely be back and we definitely recommend everyone try this

Yelp
The Little Pear should have a 5-star Yelp rating. This place is amazing! Friendly and quick service. Cute little place. The food is so good. The sourdough bread and butter starter is amazing. French Dip sandwich is incredible. They have the best fries. THE LITTLE PEAR!!!!!!!!

Yelp
The Little Pear doesn't take reservations but I have no trouble getting a table here. The manager is very friendly and helpful. We really loved the loaded sourdough bread, lamb shank and steak and frites. The bread is stuffed with gooey cheese and chives and it was perfect for sharing. My lamb shank was tender and juicy and the portion was generous. My son got the steak and it was a big cut too with great fries and arugula salad. Overall, it was a nice dining experience and we had a nice birthday celebration here!
google avatar

Juicke C.

Yelp
Lunch with an old friend, our annual birthday luncheon. A standard American fare restaurant. I had the chicken Marsala with mashed potatoes and steams vegetables. Food was delivered in reasonable time. The atmosphere sound was on the loud side, a bit tough to carry a conversation without shouting. I can definitely hear diners chatting up a storm but barely hear my lunch partner with asking a few times to repeat himself. My chicken Marsala could use more gravy and mushroom. The dish came with two chicken fillets and the few mushroom didn't cover the top fillet and gravy didn't provide much coverage for the chicken or potatoes. The fillet was nicely cooked, not overcooked. Although I had finished my meal, it did filled me but it wasn't satisfying. The service was attentive, there was a single waiter who manned all the tables, my water glass was always filled.

Yelp
Great service, atmosphere was relaxing. Food was delicious. Everything came fast and service was wonderful.

Yelp
This place is an awesome bistro with a full bar! I saw they had fondue and was so glad we ordered it. The melty cheese was so gooey and rich, it made our eyes roll back when we tried it. The Brie and pear quesadilla was also tasty. I got their rodzilla burger since I was craving more protein and that was a typical bacon cheeseburger. Still good to me, but nothing special. Overall, service was good, food was good, and place is nice. 5/5

Yelp
went here with my fam around new years. the server was lovely & was quick on taking our orders. Food came out fairly quickly & it was pretty good! I love the fries and burger they have! The tomato soup is also bomb with the grilled cheese!! Inside, it is spacious so enough for a 6+ with and auto grat! Will come again for a quick bite!
google avatar

S G.

Yelp
We ordered the patty melt and the New York style Reuben. The patty melt was ok, however, I ordered it medium but it was cooked well done. The Parmesan crust was gimmicky and didn't add much in flavor and it made it a bit more messier to pick up and bite into it. My spouse ordered the Reuben which wasn't good at all. The slices of corned beef was way too thick. When we bit into we couldn't finish the bite without pulling out big chunks of corned beef. Definitely needs to be sliced a lot thinner to be enjoyable.
google avatar

Yelp
Food, service, ambiance; The Little Pear checks all the boxes. Be sure to stop in for Martini Monday when they're just $5 and ask about the tomato soup special, it's delicious and a steal with a grilled cheese sandwich for $10.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
Bumping things up. Consistently rock solid food. Reuben was seriously delicious served on marbled rye. Stroganoff lovers ask for a side of sour cream as recommended by our server. Perfect topping. Check them out

Tank M.

Yelp
Only giving 2 stars because it is SO NOISY inside that it's very uncomfortable and difficult to hear across the table. In the summer I will eat outside, but it's right on a busy, noisy street so that's not very pleasant either. I realize it's the trend for restaurants to be NOISY, but it isn't relaxing or enjoyable for many diners. And forget it if you have any hearing issues.

Yelp
We stopped in here on a whim during a lunchtime walk, reminiscing a little since we used to come to the Counter a few times at this location. All the food was fine and the service was fine. Nothing really blew our minds. The bacon in my BLT was a little less cooked (more on the rubbery side) than is my personal preference. The sweet potato fries were very good, especially considering how hard it is to make those crispy. My partner and I joked that they must have kept on the same fry cook from The Counter. The lamb shank was a little salty but the portion size was generous and the meat fell off the bone.

Yelp
5/5 I am a big fan of the Peasant and the Pear in Danville so when I found The Little Pear I had to give it a try! I like how the menu is different from the Danville location with many new items to try! We started off with the fondue, served with bread and pears, which was very tasty and decadent! I couldn't get enough! I ordered the chicken Parmesan for dinner that was two big pieces of chicken served with a big portion of pasta & broccoli! It was definitely enough for 2 meals as I took home about half for lunch tomorrow. The chicken was spiced perfectly and fried to a golden brown perfection, topped with marinara and mozzarella! I was very pleased with the overall experience and will definitely be back! Can't wait to try the other restaurants as well!

Yelp
Really enjoyed a nice outside dinner with the family here last Friday. Service was nice and the food was all pretty good. The only reason I took off 1 star was due to the to go order. After splitting a bacon cheeseburger with my husband I decided to take my pot roast to go. It was good, cooked really well, but lacked seasoning. I think it may have been better had I eaten it in the restaurant. I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I was craving French Onion soup on a cold and rainy night, so my son and I decided to head to The Little Pear based on reviews. One pleasant surprise was that we came during happy hour. The unfortunate thing is I didn't enjoy much about the meal. The Cesar salad dressing was EXTREMELY fishy. I understand there is anchovies in the dressing - but this was like a seafood dressing. To me at least. I took two bites and pushed it away. I am grateful, however, that the server did remove it from my tab. The burger and fries my middle-school-aged son devoured. It was a decent, basic cheeseburger. The truffle fries with the lemon aioli - this was THE BEST thing we ordered. That aioli ... WWWWOOOOWWW so good!! I did order a glass of Cab and they were definitely generous with their pour. In all, I'd likely come back for happy hour for their fries and a glass of wine, but that's about it.

Yelp
We came in for a going away lunch, and it took 80 minutes from being seated to paying the check. What's good: 1) friendly staff, and 2) metered street parking across the street, and 3) the place was bright and not loud. What could be better: 1) the short rib was buttery soft, but lacked a flavor profile. Herbs would have helped. My coworker's lamb shank had bay leaves which looked great. 2) the wait: good thing we got an appetizer because it took a while for us to get a table and get our food. There were 2 waitresses and the restaurant was 1/3 full.

Yelp
Ok, the biggest challenge for this restaurant is location - it's sort of in the "office building" area of Walnut Creek. Do NOT let that stop you. Travel, park, bike, walk to this incredible place. Let's start with cocktails - I had the Blood Orange Tini, my friend had the Prickly Pear Margarita and they were both delicious. We tasted each other's drinks and agree while both were great, we picked the right one for each of us. We also tried the bourbon slushy which was good - in small quantities. We then moved on to the Pear Quesadilla - OMG. The pear chutney makes the dish! If I'm splitting hairs, maybe a little more pear, thinly sliced so there is better pear distribution but it was wonderful and the chutney makes the dish. Okay on to the dishes. I went Smoked Chicken Salad Sandwich and it was everything I hoped it would be....probably top 5 sandwich of all time. You could smell the smoke before you bit into it but they also didn't oversmoke it which can ruin a dish. My friend went with French Dip which is really more of a steak sandwich vs. a traditional French Dip but that doesn't mean it wasn't fantastic because...well....it was. Tricya (sp?) was our bartender and server and the service was 5 star. She can do mixology and provide great insights on the menu. Speaking of the menu, I look at the menu and there is literally, everything that I'd like to try. The location is sort of off the beaten path but this place is SO worth going to, you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Just had one of the yummiest polenta ever. The fried broccoli was also good. The servers were attentive and nice even though there was only two of them. I hope they keep the polenta on the menu, as that'll be the main reason to come back continually.

Yelp
10/10 highly recommend. We live in Napa and stopped by fremont bank, looking for something to eat the pictures on google pulled us in and we were not disappointed. From the service, ambiance to the FOOD! The beer battered broccoli Is a must for anyone. My spouse had the Nashville chicken which was perfect and I had the chicken salad sandwich which was to die for. We will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoy this restaurant! It's a great place to meet up with a friend or have a family dinner. The frozen margarita and bourbon drink are both tasty. A family favorite is the pear quesadilla. The lamb shank is delicious and have also enjoyed the chicken Parmesan and beef bourguignon. The staff here is friendly. The only downside is sometimes it can get loud
google avatar

Kayla S.

Yelp
Traveling through town stopped here for dinner and was impressed. Had the cheesy bread, French onion soup, and peartini. The flavors were top notch and service was excellent. Very cute spot to try!
google avatar

Deborah H.

Yelp
Fun corner restaurant with lovely menu. Enjoyed the salad greens with pears, walnuts with fresh salmon. Fish was fresh...surprisingly moist and tasty without too much salt. Mikayla had a full afternoon juggling tables but she remained calm. We sat outside and enjoyed the setting of flower planters and umbrellas. Thank you!
google avatar

Barbara R.

Yelp
High quality food with great service, they never disappoint. The ambiance is really nice - light and bright, nice area for patio seating as well. Large bar to watch your favorite sports. They often have some great menu specials depending on which day of the week you go - check them out here: https://www.rodneyworth.com/weekly-specials/ So far I've had (at different times) the french onion soup, chicken marsala, beer battered broccoli, and smoked chicken salad - all of them were delicious. My friend had the lamb shank and loved it.

Yelp
This restaurant is part of the Peasant and the Pear group of restaurants which i have always enjoyed. This location is on North Broadway in the former space of the Counter Burgers. They have not done much to the space but it did not need much as it's clean and modern. It's on the louder side inside and outside, it's right on N Broadway. It's fine that way not too loud. We were there for lunch on a weekday and were seated immediately. The servers were attentive. The food is very good. It's essentially american fare. Menu has just the right amount of options. It was high quality in appearance and flavors. I will for sure be back but there was not anything that stood out so much. It would be good for a business lunch. Prices are a bit more than i would seek for a solo lunch
google avatar

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
This is a super cute little restaurant with very good food! My sister and I met up for an early meal before she moves back to France! We had to wait a bit for her husband, so we order the potato skins for an appetizer. Quite good! She and I decided to split the two sandwiches she ordered the Reuben and I ordered the chicken brie and pears sandwich. Both were really great. My only complaint was we asked the man clearing the table to wrap up the leftovers, but he threw them directly away. I think there was a language barrier. This is a very small restaurant so arrive early or late.
google avatar

Marcela L.

Yelp
Visited The Little Pear for happy hour. I liked that it starts at 2:30! We enjoyed the happy hour margaritas and happy hour $10 burger with fries. We upgraded the fries to garlic truffle for a small fee. The food was soooo good and just a great deal. The service was friendly and quick. The place is spacious and when we arrived at 4 we didn't have to wait. Will definitely return and recommend.
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
Service was a little slow, they seemed under staffed, but everybody was very friendly. Food was excellent, atmosphere was nice. They have indoor and outdoor dining. Had Saturday brunch and it didn't disappoint. I had the avocado toast and it was great. Husband had the Blackhawk hash and said it was fantastic. Kids grilled cheese was good size and the fries were perfectly crispy and tasty. They also brought little choc chip pound cake type mini muffins complementary after our meal and they were perfect.
google avatar

Sara B.

Yelp
Had a pretty decent lunch at The Little Pear. The newest opening of the Worth Group. While I fondly remember and greatly miss the Prickly Pear in Blackhawk, The Little Pear did not come up to scratch. Service was 5 stars. Waitress was super attentative, constantly refilling soda or water. Food however was the major disappointment. While all prettily plated and portions were a great size, the flavor was underwhelming. French onion soup lacked any flavor, was just colored broth. Didn't taste of onions or salt or wine or seasoning. Shockingly even the cheese had little flavor topped over bland bread. Wences in pleasant hill has a superb French onion soup over this one. Caesar salad comes in multiple sizes. If you are not sharing, get the small. The large at $12 is enough to feed multiple people. The Pear Flatbread had entirely too much blue cheese that you could taste nothing else even though you could see the abundance of pears on it. While we also had a few other dishes and appetizers, I didn't taste them so cannot review on taste but sight alone. Due to nobody finishing their meals, I would assume they also were not enjoyable. Might return someday to try again but in the meantime, will check out some of the other new places to eat in downtown walnut creek.
google avatar

R K.

Yelp
The food was excellent! We ordered two starters and two entrees and I would definitely say I would come back to try additional menu items based on what we tried so far. The garlic truffle fries were cooked to perfection with two sauces provided. I thought the beef in the stroganoff was cooked very well too. My friend had the Julie Childs Beef Bourguignon and she said it was delicious! Drinks could have been better overall taste wise. My friend and I made it to happy hour with 5 minutes to spare and were told that only the bar was honoring happy hour pricing. We thought that was a bit weird and it would have been nice to have had at least one drink each honored with happy hour pricing as we were sat at a table. Just something that can be improved! Dishes were pricey, but I think for every once in awhile, this is a good restaurant to have a meal at.
google avatar

Brittney C.

Yelp
The service was spotty at best, not sure if they were running short or just not good service. Waited 20 minutes for the waitress to make it over to take our drink orders, then another 15 for water to be brought. Sent back my order twice as the first time it was very over done and the second time it was a different cut of meat entirely and was raw and brown. Waitress gave attitude. Most likely will not be back.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
The service okay the food great over price cant believe I spent hamburgers and friend soda drink over $30 i can deal McDonald never come again thank you
google avatar

Jimmy H.

Yelp
Heard good things about this place. So I gave it a try. This is pretty much a food rating only. Put in an order to go around 2:15pm for a Rueben and a French dip. I didn't expect the Rueben to be Katz's deli or anything but I really had a craving. To keep this short. Both sandwiches the meat was dry and way chewy. Rueben was passable though it meat was dry and hard everything else was ok. Fries were well cooked and seasoned. The French dip, meat was cooked to a beef jerky dryness. It was inedible. Au jus was good but couldn't save the French dip and the horseradish sauce was really tasty. Too bad the meat was so over cooked, dry and hard. Definitely $50 no well spent for two sandwiches :-(

Yelp
First time trying this place. The food were prepared nicely and they tasted awesome. The service were wonderful and they were very friendly. Very happy we tried this place. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Went for brunch recently, but I've also gone for lunch before. Highly highly recommend the pair quesadilla it is excellent! it was very slow when we went for brunch yesterday I think the location is a little tough because it's not in downtown with the rest of the restaurants, but there is free parking behind which is a rarity to find in Walnut Creek! The food is spectacular. The service is quick and kind I know sometimes when the restaurant is slow, the server can get distracted with tasks, but ours was sure to check in and make sure we had enough boxes to take everything we had left home! This is a great place for casual lunch or dinner!
google avatar

Meg T.

Yelp
We were walking downtown and on a whim decided to try The Little Pear. To start the service was prompt but nondescript. I'm more careful these days with my diet so I ordered several sides, but unfortunately the Little Pear seems to use lower quality ingredients, which is harder to disguise when you just order basics. My bacon itself was a bit underdone and while my egg whites were quite good, the potatoes were a problem. The quality of the potato was fairly low, so it tasted quite earthy, which they tried to cover with over-spicing using paprika. The end result was a bright moment of spice, with a bland earthy punch - not pleasant at all. I personally enjoyed the Sangria a lot, since it was essentially an iced mulled wine, but the honey who is a big Sangria person was not a fan. All in all, the space had ample outside seating, some of which catches the sun, so I'd rate it overall a 3.4.

Kevin ..

Yelp
My grilled cheese looked nothing like the ones I found on yelp. Plain and grilled cheese, without the vertical and impressive looking cheeses around the bread like the pictures. Very disappointed, so much so I didn't even take pictures. Think Panera bread grilled cheese sandwich.
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
I really want to like this place. It has some of the right ingredients but overall a miss. I've been here twice. Bummers: Wagyu burger is flavorless Overuse of frisée Old eggs on the shrimp Louis salad, half brown avocado Slow service Overpriced - the food feels assembled vs thoughtfully prepared. $98 for lunch for 3 with no alcohol. Good points: Shrimp on shrimp Louis salad skewer is very good Sweet potato fries are strong - taste similar to the counter sweets which is a plus

Yelp
I used to eat at the original location, in Danville, when I worked close by. We were happy to hear the Little Pear was reopening, closer to home. This was our first visit. Service was friendly and efficient. We had the fondue appetizer, two French dip sandwiches, one cheesecake and a chocolate chip cookie. For cocktails we had a dirty martini and the sangria. The fondue was good. I loved the pears dipped in the cheese. It was a bit salty. We both had the French dip, which is really a steak sandwich served with au jus. I would have ordered something else. I wanted a French dip and that was not what we got. It was decent, but not great. Hubby had the cheesecake with strawberry for dessert, I had the chocolate chip cookie. Neither of us would order these again. Drinks were good. We will come back, though we will try other dishes next time.

Yelp
Dinner at The Little Pear. A nice clean martini and the beer battered broccoli I'm OBSESSED with!! I could just have this and be happy... but we had more. The kids pretzel bites satisfied my kids! The Nashville chicken sandwich (hot!) was crunchy, and spicy, and cool with a huge pile of fries. The shrimp appetizer was 4 prawns in a garlic caper dipping sauce- I do wish the bread was on the side instead of under about kept some crunch when dipped. Julia Childs beef bourguignon was hearty dish- tender beef in a wine reduction sauce over mash potatoes. Lastly the star- the HUGE chicken parm. Two huge crispy breasts breaded, fried, and smothered in sauce and cheese. The pasta is fine but nothing compared to the perfectly cooked broccoli paired with it! Great family dinner!

Kaila K.

Yelp
I ordered the smoked chicken salad sandwich on "sourdough." What arrived was a thin smear of overly sweet, gloopy mayo with a whisper of chicken and one limp lettuce leaf that looked like it had given up. The "smoked" chicken tasted artificial like the flavor came straight from a bottle, not a smoker. And the sourdough, was in fact not sour dough, but processed white loaf bread. Unfortunately the atmosphere matched the food and felt cold and soulless, and the loud, bar-style music clashed with any sense of comfort or intention. Overpriced and soulless.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Had a nice evening dining outside. Drinks were good and most of the food was well prepared. However, the beef stroganoff was a disappointment . Pasta too thin ( more like spaghetti than fettuccine noodles) and the meat was very tough. Definitely not what we were expecting.. wouldn't order it again!

Cynthia J.

Yelp
The restaurant is so relaxing. I sat outside at lunch and felt so at peace. The waitress was absolutely kind. The guests agree the salad was great and the pear mocktail was sweet. It's great if you work in the area. It was outside my office and just so close. Great find! I will go again with friends.

Tania C.

Yelp
Catfish super salty. Other food ordered was absolutely tasteless. Wings were overcooked, taste like wood very dry!

Eugene K.

Yelp
Food is average. Had the French onion soup since it's what they're known for...a bit over-rated. Came in on a Friday for a quick lunch, but took ages to get water, utensils, our order in and table served. I felt particularly bad for the server, who was an elderly gentleman, bussing one whole side of the restaurant. Meanwhile, another server just casually chatting away with another individual, who may have been the general manager, without any sense of how slow service was. Not a good look in my view.
google avatar

Elena H.

Yelp
I just ordered there chicken tenders from there, didn't want any side just the tenders. They gave me three super small pieces and charged me 8 and that was with their happy hour discount. I work next door and have ordered from them several times and never been more disappointed than today.
google avatar

Yelp
This is our family's new go to local place. Lunch and dinner menus are the same. Their portions are BIG and delicious. We've never had a bad meal here. Great options for kids too.

Grace A.

Yelp
Rodney never disappoints! The smoked chicken salad sandwich and pear quesadilla are out of those world ! So thankful they came to Walnut Creek ! Easy to park , amazing staff , nice to see familiar faces from Danville ! .

Yelp
Our party of four had two Caesar Salads, a Beef Bourguignon and Cacio E Pepe (linguini, butter, parmesan, cracked black pepper). The salads were good and were added with chicken at an additional cost. The Beef Bourguignon was also very good. The reason I chose a three-star rating was due to the Cacio E Pepe. No exaggeration here. It literally arrived as a large lump of cheese incasing noodles. I thought maybe the noodles were covered with melted cheese. That was not the case. I had to use a knife to cut through the block of cheese sitting on a base of butter like it was a piece of meat. Oh well? Another thing I have to say is if you are looking for a GREAT Sangria this might be the place you want to go. The wine was some of the best I've tasted. Ana C was a good server. Friendly and observant of our needs.

Juanito N.

Yelp
Food 10/10, service was amazing and dessert was great. Perfect spot, and I think it's family owned (not sure).
