Had a great time at The Lobby Bar in Richmond! The atmosphere was stylish and we LOVED all the pink! Perfect for a night out or a casual drink. The cocktail menu was creative and well-executed, and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a spot I’d return to and recommend to others looking for a quality bar experience in the city.

We attended for Richmond Restaurant Week and had a great dinner. Our server, Lila, was amazing! She was knowledgeable, helpful, polite, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our dinner. The RRW food was exquisite and had a very impressive menu. We will definitely be back!

Can’t fathom why people have scored them lower. Great chef and staff, excellent rotating menu that repeats favorites occasionally. Nice atmosphere, never empty and never crowded. I have been here more than any other restaurant in the city and I love it.

Had the butternut Squash and apple bisque nd the Halibut. The bisque was good but the bowl had a crack in it. The halibut was too salty for me but edible. The veggies were a little soggy. Had 2 old fashions. They were average. Not sure I’d bother going again for the price.

Had brunch at the Lobby Bar with family. The service was a bit slow but the food was fantastic. Definitely recommend!

*4.5 STARS* We came here for a Father's Day brunch. The french toast was delicious! Probably the best I've ever had, I'd highly recommend it if you're coming for breakfast. The rhubarb pieces in it gave it a nice yet subtle crunch. The Eggs in Purgatory was also good, I really liked the fritters that came with it. It was slightly too saucy for me but still enjoyable. Their Quirk Spritz cocktail is okay, nothing special. The inside of the restaurant is very aesthetic and classy! I was definitely a fan of that. It's perfect for a little brunch date with friends. The service was quick but not very friendly.

The atmosphere nets two stars, but the rest of my experience left me quite frustrated. The bar was considerably busy during my visit, which was to be expected on a Saturday night. But what was disappointing about my experience was getting served dead last. The bartenders eyes passed right over us for more than twenty minutes, landing on customers who arrived well after we did before ever helping us. Normally I would have just left, but we'd waited so long that we ended up pushing ourselves out of the opportunity to go somewhere else for a drink before our dinner reservation. We'd planned on ordering cocktails, but the service was so slow that we just ordered beers when someone finally deigned to help us. Not really what I was in the mood for, but I guess I'm glad that I saved a little money? I had no desire to stay down in the lobby after this, so we headed for the rooftop for a nice view of Richmond while downing our beers and scurrying off to dinner. A bummer for sure!

While in this area of downtown Richmond for work a co-worker and I stopped in for coffee and to get some work done…. Staff was very friendly and the place looks beautiful. Like places like this where they update and renovate such older structures and make then useful and beautiful for today’s clientele! Coffee was really good… Plenty of seating… They have a bar too and it looks like a fun place to be in the evenings!

Yelp
I was staying at The Quirk Hotel for the night and decided to come down for an early meal. I didn't make a reservation but they weren't busy yet so they were able to seat me right away. The Quirk Hotel is known for its all around pink decor that's elegant. Their happy hour is from 4-6pm. For dinner, I was between the bolognese and steak frites. I asked my waitress and she said if I'm really hungry to go with the steak frites, so I did the steak frites which were cooked medium. They give you a PILE of fries which were delicious. The steak came out a bit cold which I was bummed about but I was so hungry I still ate it all. The sauce is delicious. My waitress was very kind and attentive. Would eat here again for sure! My meal plus a diet coke was $36

Yelp
This is my second time visiting the Quirk's lobby bar for brunch. My husband and I shared the French toast and eggs pesto - both of which were INCREDIBLE. Perfect balance of sweet and savory. The eggs pesto in particular is one of my favorite brunch items in Richmond. The menu is somewhat limited with a few non traditional offerings. Great for foodies willing to try new combinations but I wouldn't recommend for a group of picky eaters. I found the cocktails a bit expensive ($16+). The service was great! Our waiter was attentive without stopping by the table too often. Our 8 month old was entertained by the vibrant atmosphere and was able to stay in her stroller next to our table while we ate. The menu didn't have many BLW options.

Yelp
Dinner was fantastic in every way. The lobby bar has a great aesthetic and the music was an excellent blend of just interesting enough that you could enjoy it, but mild enough that it fell away to conversation. The service was excellent, and our server was quick with recommendations and suggestions when asked for help with the menu. We only needed help because so much looked so good we had trouble deciding on our own! I started off with the Sweet Pea Martini, which was unique, but very good. We shared the tempura vegetables and spanakopita dip, both of which were phenomenal, but the focaccia that came with the dip was some of the best bread I've ever had. For entrees, my wife had the grilled scallop risotto, which I tried a bite of. The scallops were great, but the risotto really shined. I had the Amatriciana, which I've had before, and it was as flavorful and delicious as always. For desserts we had the olive oil cake and the oatmeal cookie. Both very good, but the malted extra virgin olive oil powder was my favorite bit. Absolutely love this place and highly recommend it!

Yelp
I absolutely love The Quirk Hotel. The Lobby Bar has a fun brunch and great menu. I prefer their later menu options. Their cocktails are very tasty and fun here too. ***LOCATION*** The Lobby Bar is inside The Quirk Hotel, on Broad and Jefferson. There is free two hour street parking out front and nearby. ***EXPERIENCE*** I've been here quite a few times for their brunch and their evening menu. I'd recommend coming for drinks and lunch/dinner meals. I've done birthday brunches here, birthday cocktails, birthday meals, family brunches, and bachelorette brunch here. The service is great for big groups. They serve very yummy coffee from their cafe. The French Toast is very thick and tasty. I'm not crazy about their breakfast potatoes. Their Fried Eggs & Chorizo hash is fine. Their brunch burger used to be good. Their breakfast croissant is pretty good. I also miss when they had their ceviche, it was divine. ***PRICE*** I usually walk away spending $20-50 at The Lobby Bar ***BATHROOM*** There are restrooms downstairs. The Woman bathroom has quite a few stalls and is kept clean. Just like most things at The Quirk, it's pink. ***CONCLUSION*** Brunch can be hit or miss, but is usually fine or yummy. Their other menus are very yummy too. It's a great spot for groups or date nights.

Yelp
What a great place for any special occasion, the food is great, the drinks are great and you can't beat the ambiance! We went for brunch and I had the Vietnamese fried chicken sandwich. It was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet along with the perfect balance of fresh and fried. It had a fresh slaw on it which cut some of the greasiness of the fried chicken. I had a take on a blackberry cucumber margarita and it was to die for as well as a quirk spritz which was so refreshing with my heavier meal! As always the staff was so lovely and attentive. The lobby bar is hands down one of the cutest restaurants in richmond! It feel hip and fun with a formal flare! I love every chance I get to go there!

Yelp
Went for brunch to see the gorgeous holiday decorations with some friends. Service was great, food was very good, coffee was solid. Menu is somewhat limited but what they have they do well.

Yelp
These guys were awesome in helping me host an 80th birthday party right there in the gorgeous lobby. Wonderful service & venue.

Yelp
We went during the one of their markets and had brunch, it didn't disappoint. I've always loved their dinner and hadn't had their brunch til now. Loved our drinks so much, the spicy margarita style drink was so so so good and the perfect amount of spice. My husband loved the potatoes because they were so crispy on the outside and moist inside. The Burrata & Panzanella was delish. My mom makes this since she's from Italy and honestly it was almost as good. Only complaint is the burrata wasn't very creamy inside but still a delish dish. The vibe is also wonderful and good for kids to look around.

Yelp
We were super excited to get together for dinner at Quirk. Our table tried a plethora of items from the menu. I got the Quirk Spritz which was okay, but not very flavorful; not worth the price. I got the duck breast. The duck was cooked the way I like it and had some pink and a nice layer of fat. However, the vegetables weren't fully cooked and the dish as a whole felt lackluster. The burrata ice cream saved my meal; the burrata ice cream was super creamy and the olive oil cake was moist. Others at my table got the onion dip, grilled pork ragu, fried Brussels sprouts, grilled scallop risotto, and several other dishes. The pasta in the ragu wasn't fully cooked and others also noted that their vegetables weren't fully cooked either. Our table was disappointed. Our server was kind and had a good spirit. The restaurant itself was very cute and well appoint d with unique pink decor. Unfortunately, we won't be back for any entrees. We'd give it a shot again for apps and drinks in the future maybe during happy hour? However, this was not worth an almost $400 bill (yes we tipped at least 20%).

Yelp
For a place that's gorgeous on the outside, I'm not sure I can say the same about what's on the inside as far as customer service goes - Every employee there just seems bothered and there is just no real care or friendliness at all. I was skeptical about planning a big group dinner here - From the get-go, it was difficult making reservations for a party of 10+ people. I called in two different times to confirm that they would be able to accommodate us which is already excessive for just making reservations. Conversations with 2 employees and 1 manager ensured our reservations would be good to go. Typically, it's the restaurant making sure reservations are confirmed but in this case, we had to do all the work. I would not recommend this place for large parties or for special events. We were told there would be a fee associated with outside desserts (I understand but I don't understand). They do not accommodate friendly payment options so everyone had to split the bill evenly & our server also failed to mention that a 20% gratuity is included. The experience you have in a restaurant is almost more important than the food - I would consider returning for the brussel sprouts and lamb dishes, they were delicious. But overall, our visit was pretty bland for what you would expect from a place that seems so unique.

Yelp
Bartender was fun, engaging, and could mix a great drink. Atmosphere was vibrant and fun. Great place to have a bite or catch a drink before eating at nearby restaurants.

Yelp
Thoroughly surprised at the low reviews here. The Lobby Bar's brunch was a highlight for our quick Richmond trip! We discovered the restaurant purely by happenstance: we were at dinner next door and were walking back to our hotel when some artwork caught our eye. It was hanging in the giftshop gallery underneath the Quirk Hotel and we promised to return to check it out before trip end. Glad we were able to snag a last minute table for brunch at the same time (had this been in DC, we would have had to make resys weeks in advance). From the ambiance to the food, we loved absolutely e v e r y t h i n g. The decor is soft and romantic, with 'quirky' touches throughout; high ceilings, large windows allowed natural light to beam in. I'd go as far as to say this would make for a great wedding reception venue. Although they feature a shorter menu of brunch fare, it was hard to decide your main brunch plate, so we ended up getting two things that caught our eye: the French toast and Eggs in Purgatory. The French toast was fluffy, thick, soft - exactly what it should be - and the eggs had the right amount of spice and sauciness. See photos for evidence. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I had brunch today at the Lobby Bar. This was an important lunch for me because my future mother in law and sister in law were meeting my mom and sister for the first time. My fiancé and I got engaged recently and live on the other side of the country. I flew in for this lunch and to tour venues with them today. My sister is severely allergic to latex. This means whenever we make reservations we usually call beforehand to check what gloves their food handlers wear if any at all. I called quirk yesterday and my call was transferred to the restaurant manager. After asking what gloves the food handlers wore he assured me they were nitrile and if I was calling because of a latex allergy it would be fine. Fast forward to lunch today. We were seated, our server was barely there, restaurant was mostly empty. The food took forever to arrive and just as it was about to be delivered, my sister looked over her shoulder at the kitchen and thought she saw the food handler put on a latex glove. We quickly found out that they ~always wear latex~ and the manager I spoke to the day before blatantly lied to me. Allergies are no joke and my sister is severely allergic. If she had not been paying attention it could have been very bad. A different manager came over to speak with us and questioned me about who I talked to, apologized briefly and left. Later our server told us that they would comp my sisters food and then they walked away too. 4 of us had plates in front of us and my sister just had to watch. We were not sure what to do and there was no sense of hospitality. Boutique luxury hotel and award winning restaurant indeed. Allergies are a serious concern for us and we do not appreciate being lied to by management.

Yelp
The lobby bar is a restaurant in the lobby of the quirk hotel. I made a reservation for three at 6pm on a Thursday evening. It is a very cute and aesthetic hotel and bar! A great place for an event with the gals. I would say the menu is catered more towards a lighter palate and a picky eater might have a hard time finding something to eat. There is a large selection of alcoholic drinks. The Quick Spritz was very good! The food is Tapas style, so the dishes are engineered to be small and to be shared. We ordered four dishes amongst us three to try different things. The AMATRICIANA("AA-MUH-TREE-CHAA-NUH") pasta was an absolute banger and I would return just for that. The arugula salad was also good, had a lot of nice toppings. There is a small parking lot on the block behind the hotel that is shared between hotel and public parking. You can park there for free and walk to the hotel, very convenient. The bathrooms are located in the basement which is actually an art gallery. It is a functional hotel and you're eating dinner in the lobby, but it's very chic and fun. Would recommend coming here at least once!

Yelp
Food: 2.5 out of 5 Service: 1 out of 5 Atmosphere: 4 out of 5 Our group of 7 made a reservation for a going-away dinner for a friend. We went on a Monday evening with a 6:30 reservation. It was an average-sized crowd with a few empty tables, so not fully booked by any means. The hotel set-up is beautiful this time of year and the table we had was in a perfect spot in the restaurant. The decor and ambience of the lobby bar was exactly what we were looking for, but that is unfortunately where the positives end. Upon arrival, we ordered a bottle of wine and a few cocktails. Our waiter, Allyn, did not provide any pleasantries or give off a friendly vibe, but that would've been fine if his service had at least been good. We were not asked if we wanted any starters, and it took almost 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. In reviewing the menu, we noticed there were only 6 entree options, but we each managed to find something that interested us. Four of us added steak to our dishes but were told the chef would only cook it medium rare and nothing else. This was acceptable for 3 out of the 4 of us, so one person had to forego the steak option. Another ordered the fresh catch (salmon) which came with a raisin and almond enhancement that she could not eat, and requested to substitute with carrots that were present in a different dish. Again, we were told the chef would not do that. All of these rejections were presented in a very standoffish manner by Allyn, who seemed less than interested in any accommodations for the meal. After ordering our dinner, he returned 10 minutes later to tell us there were only two steaks left, so one of the 3 of us would not be getting what we ordered. He offered to add salmon instead, to which one of the ladies agreed. He did not return for any more drink orders or refills. When the food finally arrived by the servers, it took Allyn another several minutes to check on us and at that point took our additional drink orders. He again returned several minutes later to tell us they did not have any more of the wine bottle we had ordered. This particular wine is on the menu for "drinks by the glass" so to be completely out of it was surprising. At this point, everyone had finished their meal so we opted not to get another bottle of wine. As for the food, we had orders for the cacio e pepe, which had no flavor except for an overabundance of garlic; the salmon which was very overcooked with a black crust rather than golden brown and very dry; and a few salads which were average. When the bill arrived, we noticed that the second bottle of wine was still listed, but Allyn again did not return for several minutes for this to be remedied. One person in our group stopped another server and asked to speak with the manager. When she arrived at the table, her only response was "Allyn is one of our best servers". If that is true, then the rest of the staff must be poorly lacking in any customer relation skills and quality work ethic. Eventually the manager said she could take down our email addresses and send us a gift card, but we all agreed we would not return. Instead, she offered to adjust the bill, and removed one of the pasta dishes and the sides of the steak. This was acceptable to us because we will not be going back. As a side note, the valet situation was also a mess. Do not expect to be treated as nicely as the restaurant presents itself to be.

Yelp
Had a fantastic birthday brunch here with friends. Attentive service, nice drinks, and delicious food. Unique dishes on the menu. I got the Eggs in Purgatory. The sauce was just the perfect amount of spice. It's kind of like shakshuka but with these hush puppy like fritters. My friends got the brussel sprouts and the beet salad. Both also enjoyed their dishes. If you're looking for a nice brunch spot, definitely consider The Lobby Bar at Quirk.

Yelp
The view is great! The concoctions are on point and the food, while pricey, is delish!

Yelp
The restaurant is cold, like temperature cold. It is in a historic hotel that may not have the heat on high enough for the winter. The server was a little overwhelmed, but once they showed they were good. The hash with chorizo was delicious. The salad out staged the meal as it was a perfect salad. The hash was still very good, but the main dish should not be outshined by the salad. It is a very trendy spot and most of the year it would be amazing. But I. The cold weather it is a little chilly. The drinks were good and there is a full bar.

Yelp
Horrible experience in the lobby Bar Restaurant on Christmas Day. Half of the buffet food was cold and the waitress was never around and the restaurant was half empty. She was more interested in telling my party she was waiting to be off work so she could take the leftovers from the buffet home. The management is not responsive to issues and doesn't seem to care as they did not respond to my contact with them. I won't be returning for any reason.

Yelp
The ambiance is lovely especially when you have a brunch reservation with old friends. An early morning brunch is perfect when the sun beams through the large windows. Drank too many mimosas with great old friends. They've lived in Richmond for years and said why hadn't they been to the Quirk for brunch? It's def a hidden gem

Yelp
Quirk the lobby bar Rough and definitely no diamond I have on several occasions glanced at the Quirk Hotel and unconsciously put it to one side as a place to visit for a special occasion. The image promoted is a sort of successor to the now defunct ArtSorat of Berlin fame but in American style. Less extreme. Anyway I was looking for brunch, on Sunday to celebrate a birthday. You would have thought that would be easy to find in of all places Richmond since the reputation for "Where it's at" brunchwise is the Jefferson acting as top-of-the-line for service and tradition with Cracker Barrel as counterweight. And everything in between. Until, that is, I came upon my first chameleon restaurant The Lobby in the Quirk Hotel. It looks like a restaurant on the hotel web pages but look closer on Trip advisor and Poof! It has disappeared. No trace. Only to re-appear on Yelp. This may of course be a strategy to avoid anyone noticing it or god forbid eating there. But a mystery it is and remains so. What could they be hiding I wondered and so took my place to find out. The answer was really quite simple. Overpriced inedible food but a wide variety of happy hour alcohol. The cook or whoever he was could be seen peeping around the partly screened food prep area with what can only be described as surprise that people were eating what was being served. A succession of truly unpleasant wilted leaves and turd-like sausages with for some unknown reason poached eggs everywhere looking unpleasantly like a gift from a passing seagull. The food at our table remained plated and untouched with the exception of the pre-cooked potatoes heated or microwaved I suspect which at least satisfied basic hunger pains. The Bloody Mary was the most appealing item and I was the only one drinking alcohol. The check that ended this horror show was eye watering. As I left I caught the waiter under his breath apologizing to the Blonde who later told me he was thanking us for the tip and hoping we would give them another chance. However with a tiny brunch menu so badly prepared I don't think so. Finally in these post Covid days I am getting tired of the repeated excuses about finding and retaining competent staff. How long are restaurant goers willing to accept overpriced terrible food as the norm?

Yelp
I guess they had an abbreviated menu, because I was expecting a nice meal. They were very few options for me but I probably went late on Labor Day so I'll give them a reprieve this time. Based on my experiences there previously, I would definitely go back. It was previously call Maple and Pine, but then I looked at the menu online, and I see things that I didn't see on the menu when I went there. I'll give them another chance. If I see the same things when I go back in there that I saw online ,then they still might have me. Otherwise.......eh

Yelp
My first time at this place and while it's a really cool setting I wasn't crazy about the food. Our pasta was very salty, the chicken rings were tasty but super hard and chewy. Not worth the $$$

Yelp
I'm writing this as I lounge in bed after an amazing breakfast. T start my wife and I had delicious caramel lattes while deciding where to eat. They had run out of whole milk and we substituted oat-milk. To be fair I knew it was going to be new to me so although I did not like it my wife gladly took mine. I had had one the day before and it was delicious. We then decided if we were eating out or in. So the breakfast setup is a little confusing prior to the buffet opening there doesn't appear to be wait service. You order your food from the barrista. I took pictures and I'm probably not going to post them because they don't do the meal justice! I had poached eggs over this sublime chorizo gravy. It's not listed the same way on the online menu. But OMG it was a perfectly seasoned dish. I would have licked the bottom of the plate! My wife asked for the avocado toast listed on the online menu. I think that the one she got was different not sure if it was jalapeño aioli but it was amazing. When I asked for the fried egg add on it wasn't posted on the board menu but they added it no problem. If you're a texture person like I am you understand when there can be too much of a soft thing! The balance on this dish was absolutely delightful. It was the BEST avocado toast we have ever had. This is a standard breakfast dish for us. I have to say it was that great without the fried egg!!! it was over the top with it! The flavor of the toasted bread was out of this world. A limited menu but damn good so far! Definitely going back.
