"Located at The Rotunda in Baltimore, the compact restaurant was redesigned in 2021 to make it look as if French fries are hanging from the ceiling. Fries with toppings that range from cheese curds, Korean barbecue, and kimchi predictably anchor the menu, but banh mi, po’boys, rice bowls, and chicken wings (or tofu bites for a veg option) are also on tap. The fry shop just expanded to a stall in Camden Yards and is planning to open more franchised locations in the future." - Jess Mayhugh, Eater Staff

Bring your squad so you can try more than one of their 17+ different varieties. This spot is BYOB and open until midnight most nights, so bring a six-pack of your favorite brew and dig in." - Planit

I will most definitely be coming back here! Food is delicious. I got the crispy chicken banh mi and the honey lemon pepper boneless wings. Both delicious. Only gripe is that you can’t add sauces to the banh mi’s🥲. Also, the prices aren’t crazy but a year ago they were way better. All and all it’s a great place to satisfy your tastebuds! Shoutout to the young brown guy at the front! He’s got fantastic customer service! Give him a raise!

Google
Nice & Chill Place to get a quick bite. I tried the fried chicken and fries earlier. It was good but a bit too salty for my taste. This time I tried the Vietnamese (pork) Banh Mi and it was really good! I like the vibe, friendly workers and good food! You gotta give it a try :-)

Google
My experiences at Local Fry have always been outstanding. The fast-paced service and friendly staff keep me coming back. Their food is consistently delicious, and my orders are always perfect. Local Fry is sure to continue thriving. Thank you!

Google
Delicious! We got a pulled pork banh mi and the loaded taco fries. The pickled veggies for the banh mi were crisp and flavorful, and the fries had the delicious TLF sauce on top. Service was quick and friendly. We will definitely be coming back!

Google
Perfect place to pick up a meal to eat while watching a sports game. Any of the specialty fries are delicious (bring back the Kimchi fries!!). Also a big fan of their tofu bites and wings, but can’t go wrong getting anything from here. Good prices for a good meal.

Google
Good spot to order from when I’m in the mood for wings. They’re flavorful but not heavy, and the banh mi is decent, especially for the price.

Google
I’m absolutely obsessed with this place. The tofu is superb. It is crispy and flavorful. I love the concept of building your own fry meal, and all of them are so tasty! My partner loves the Korean BBQ fries, and I can vouch for the Gochujang fries. Everything is delicious and so reasonably priced. This is a staple for us! (I also love that there’s accessible parking at Rotunda where’s it’s located)

Google
I had a great time here. During the pandemic I ordered their old bay fries and coming here again, they do not disappoint!! I got the old bay fries again (lightly dusted) and I can clearly see why it is their specialty. Their wings are the BOMB and the best wings I’ve ever had. I got 10 honey garlic pepper wings, and the glaze is literally to die for!! My brother ordered from them the next day and it’s the same level of quality. They also have Fanta soda which is my fave along with Minute Maid fruit punch. The customer service is great too. Not a dine in spot for a large group or crowd, (most people do take out), but if your coming in by yourself you can def dine in peace. (They have two short bar tables with stools). Overall I can’t wait to go back, good portion sizes and prices are fair. Get the wings and fries!

Yelp
I was very satisfied with my choice of wings from The Local Fry. They have many flavors to choose from which makes it hard to choose. But, this is a great things. The lemon pepper and the bbq are really tasty. I appreciate the fact you can choose how you prefer them cooked. I chose extra cooked which was perfect to my liking. Service was pleasant and expeditious. There is parking as it is located in a plaza with other eateries and shpping. It can get busy but someone is always coming out of a park, so give it a few moments. I highly recommend.

Yelp
It had been a while we visited. Food was ready in about 10 min, though message said 20 to 25 min. So it was cold by the time we picked it up and got home. The Korean Bowl was fine. The tofu Po boy, cold, small, not crispy and pretty tasteless. Crispy fries, we're not very crispy and I did not get the sauce I ordered. Hope it was just a fluke.

Shenice H.

Yelp
Delicious!!! The food and service were chef kiss. My catfish poboy and fries were seasoned well and delicious. It was very busy for a Thursday and I enjoyed every bit of my meal.

Yelp
The Local Fry is located in a small shopping center, with plenty of parking. I made a to-go order on the Toast Takeout app, which was really simple and fast. They also have a self-order kiosk inside as well. Inside there is very limited seating, but from what it looks like most people order take out from here. I had the Korean Bowl with crispy chicken ($14). While I did enjoyed the components of the bowl (rice, egg, pickled onions, cucumber, and nori), the crispy chicken I received was dry and hard. The texture felt like old chicken - very stringy, dry, and not crispy. I also got the boneless gochujang wings ($12). Instead of blue cheese, they gave me ranch unfortunately. The wings tasted good. They have a number of other flavor to choose from as well. The Vietnamese Pulled Pork Banh Mi ($10) was a bit smaller than I expected. Everything was good about the Banh Mi from the bread to the condiments - my only complaint was the pulled pork, although moist, was flavorless and bland. The Hawaiian Poutine ($12) had BBQ Pork and a nice hint of sweetness from the pineapple salsa. I would come back to try some of their other dishes.

Yelp
I love the local fry. Great loaded fries and wings. Not a lot of space but cool vibe. Staff is friendly!

Suhasini G.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic!! This is such an unassuming to go restaurant in the Rotunda, would never think that the would be this fantastic! Esp the kbbq fries were so flavorful, and we absolutely LOVED all three types of wings (old bay, buffalo fire, Cajun). The to go order takes only about 10-15 mins to prep, so this relatively very quick. Highly highly recommend!

Leizle A.

Yelp
Their bulgogi banh mi is really great! This shopping center is small but Friday has some live music in the courtyard often with local vendors setting up stands. Family and dog friendly when outside! Lots of garage parking and outdoor seating

Theron M.

Yelp
The Vietnamese Banh Mi Sandwich was very good. Lots of veggies and meat on a poboy roll. The catfish poboy was equally great. The bread was fresh and the catfish was fried perfectly. The bread while not New Orleans French bread with the crispy crust was more than a subroll. This made it good. The Korean BBQ over fries was very good also. I hadn't been back since before the pandemic. I'll be back soon.

Edward Q.

Yelp
Just changed their ranch. It ruins the flavor of the rest of the food. "Ken's steakhouse ranch" is so bad. Without confirmation the you're going back to the original I won't be ordering again. For reference I ordered from here 34 times last year. Hope this isn't the end of another bmore store to save a couple penny's on ranch. 1 star for the ranch ruining their food

Alyssa A.

Yelp
I've ordered Uber Eats from here multiple times...MULTIPLE TIMES YALL. Chicken wings. OMPH 10/10 poutine, loaded fries ( Hawaiian and another one) IT WAS SOO GOOD YALL. I want to go in person when I have time, but give it a try on Uber eats or in person. It's my go-to wings and fries place now!

Faith Maya O.

Yelp
I've ordered from here three times now and my brother has once. All four times the food has been excellent! I can't recommend their dry wings and their old bay fries enough. They are true to their name, their fries are the bomb.com! I also feel like their selection of sodas is different too, most places usually don't have fanta pineapple and orange so I love that. When I went into their physical location the service was excellent, and they were so patient. Last of all, I love the sauce they give you that you can dip your fries or wings in, it looks like MayoKetchup but it has a little kick to it. Such a good pairing. I've had the garlic pepper dry wings and their honey garlic pepper wings and both were the best wings I've ever had (not exaggerating, I'm not even a huge fan of wings). You need to order from here, whether for pickup or delivery!

Cici H.

Yelp
It's been a long time since my last visit so I stopped by today. Ordered the signature banh mi fries with catfish, kewpie/mayo on the side. This was really on point for me.

Jed W.

Yelp
Finally checked out the local fry with my daughter. It's a cute small place, essentially no indoor seating but plenty of outdoor seating at the rotunda where it's located. You order at a kiosk and they prepare the food behind a half wall. It was pretty busy when we went but it only took 20 min for our food to come out. We got the Vietnamese bowl with bulgogi, the bulgogi po boy with old bay fries, and honey bbq wings. The wings were the best part. For $1 extra we got flats which was awesome because I don't like drumsticks. And you can opt for extra crispy, also key. The wings were 5 stars. The po boy was good but didn't blow us away, maybe 3.5-4 stars. The fries were just okay, 3 stars. The bowl was very good, 4 stars. Will definitely come back and taste more!

Kellz W.

Yelp
The fried chicken (honey old bay or plain) is consistently good!! Welcoming of customers could be more pleasant.

Ayesha S.

Yelp
Really enjoy local fry. The service is ok, the food is excellent! The catfish is the best! Place stays busy, plenty of parking. You can order online, and the pick up. Go check them out!

Anna S.

Yelp
I've heard a lot of great things about The Local Fry and was craving some wings one night so I ordered it for takeout. They had a deal going on one of the ordering apps that gave you $5 off a purchase of $25 or more so I ended up getting an order of wings and the buffalo chicken fries. The wings: I'm not sure why I went against my normal preference but I ended up getting the garlic herb wings instead of my usual buffalo wings. The sauce was okay but kind of on the sweet side and I would've definitely preferred something spicy instead. All in all, they were still good, generously sauced up, and perfectly cooked. The fries: I thought this was a pretty unique dish and as I mentioned, I love me some buffalo chicken. It came with fried buffalo chicken, chopped celery, and blue cheese dressing on top of a bed of fries. It was really good! I could've eaten the whole box in one sitting. That said, towards the bottom of the box the fries got less and less flavorful since the other fixings were just kinda sprinkled on top. I wish this was prepared more like nachos where you have an even layer of fries and fixings throughout - not just on top. Maybe I need to shake the box a little to mix it up before digging in next time? Overall, this was pretty good and satisfied my craving for wings! I will likely return to try out a few other items and stick with my usual buffalo wings next time :)

Danielle C.

Yelp
Looking for a quick yet fulfilling bite to eat? Head on over to The Local Fry! With plenty of options to choose from, your fries will never be the same! The service is great! It's to go only but hey, get your food, sit in your car, turn up the tunes and enjoy your meal!

Radhika G.

Yelp
The local fry (TLF) is a very solid spot for great bahn mi and french fries. My SO and I came on a random weekday afternoon when we were both off of work and wanted a change from our walkable neighborhood. We got one tofu and one chicken banh mi and it definitely hit the spot for a great weekday meal. I was glad to see that there were multiple veggie options in addition to more meat options. It is also located in a really cute plaza in Roland Park - this would be a great place to go to for a meal while running errands (or post workout).

Riley T.

Yelp
this place is one of my favs around hampden. i know its a fry place but i love love the wings. i usually like to get honey lemon pepper or honey old bay with ranch and they are definitely some of my favorite wings in the city. juicy with such good flavor. the fries are also soooo good. not really a lot of space to sit inside but there's plenty of outdoor seating at the rotunda. also a nice free parking garage

Kenyetta C.

Yelp
This is a cute and quaint space located in the Rotunda. It's more like a carry out, although there are a few seats available. The menu offers a variety of things other than fries. There are rice bowls and sandwiches, as well as wings. As far as parking, there are parking spaces and a garage available. I went to The Local Fry many years ago when they were located across from cross street market. We used to bar hop and stop by for some food. I was pleased then and I am please now.

Evelyn P.

Yelp
Food was tasty and prepared for pick up quickly. Wide variety of wing flavors and seasoned fries. They also have tofu tots for vegetarians.

Diana S.

Yelp
Refused to let me do a pick up order even though the uber app wasn't allowing pick up orders. When I explained that I work in the plaza and could be there in 20 seconds they still refused. I walked over there and was able to get my order taken immediately so I truly don't understand this policy.

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Small but delicious place! A great fusion place that has a lot of different options, from Korean inspired fries, to Mexican inspired, and even some bahn mis! Something that you're craving will be on this menu! We ended up splitting the gochujang tofu bahn mi fries which were delicious! The tofu was flavored and cooked to perfection, and the fresh pickled vegetables on top of the fries added the nice fresh crunch! I used to go to this place in college at the federal hill location, and am happy to try the new location! At this location, you can easily park in the garage for free for less than 4 hours. Not too much seating inside (probably enough for 2 groups of 2?), so more for take out or taking it on the grassy lawn nearby! Highly recommend!

Ashley K.

Yelp
My family stopped here for lunch while in Baltimore for the day! Here is what we ordered: - Garlic lemon pepper: These wings were solid and a step above just regular lemon pepper. We ordered this fried hard, but honestly it didn't need it. It actually dried it out too much so I would skip that step next time (unless you choose a wet sauce option) - Hot Old Bay: We enjoyed this flavor! It wasn't overly spicy and loved the old bay hit. No complaints besides overall it was more drums than flats. So if you like flags, pay the extra dollar to get all flats. - Seasoned fries (cajun): Standard fries! Nothing too crazy or unique but tasty.

Carlo F.

Yelp
I'm not the type to leave reviews but this felt necessary. The employees are great, Liz the owner though is a very unlikeable person, rude to customers and employees alike. No wonder they seem short staffed, I wouldn't wanna work there either!

Emma P.

Yelp
Love this place. Clean, orderly, and absolutely delicious bahn mi! But please bring back the Kimchi Fries! It was the best thing on the menu!

Tiana B.

Yelp
I'd been to this place and got the Buffalo chicken fries which were delicious. Got the Korean bbq fries this time and they were equally delicious. You literally can't go wrong.

Dan A.

Yelp
Decided to try the Local Fry based on the reviews as well since I haven't found a Banh Mi spot. Right now they are only doing online orders for pickup or delivery. I ordered the Bulgogi Banh Mi & Korean BBQ fries. Banh Mi had super soft French bread with veggies & tasty Bulgogi. The BBQ fries are one of the most popular dishes and I understand why. Fries held up to the bbq ribeye topping & the carmelized onions and garlic took it over the top! Pickup was easy and seamless and the order took 10-15 minutes. I've found my Banh Mi spot in Baltimore!

D F.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich was the bomb. Well seasoned, juicy and absolutely delicious. I also ordered the catfish and garlic parmesan fries. The fish was fried hard and had very little seasoning. The fries were topped with clumps of cheese that was cold and tasteless. A total waste of money. Would definitely return but will not get the fish and cheese fries.

Sonja M.

Yelp
The food was as good as the people who made it said it was when they appeared on a food segment on WBAL as a matter fact, the food was better than I could've ever expected. It was absolutely delicious. I have never had anything like those Hawaiian fries I've never went in this place my Son-in-law's sister-in-law I saw her up at the Rotunda. She came to my car eating wings says she got them at The Local Fry and I went in after we stopped talking and I can see why she stood there and ate those chicken wings right in my face. There are a few seats if you eat in but too few to mention, Run to the Local Fry.......

Patrick W.

Yelp
Fries are not fresh cut and it is not BYOB anymore either. (Both stated otherwise in the description)

Nicole B.

Yelp
I loved the menu options and the creative types of fries. The honey lemon pepper wings were perfect, I ordered them fried hard, and they were the right amount of crispy without being overcooked. I ordered the small garlic parmesan fries on the side and it wasn't what I expected, I expected the fries to be more tossed with the cheese and garlic versus the unmelted cheese piled on top. The flavor was good, but it was messy to eat. I'll try a different type on my next visit. Overall, I had a good experience. The Hampden location is taking online orders only with one person inside at a time to retrieve their order. Service was pretty quick, It only took about 15 minutes.

Nichole M.

Yelp
I knew there was a reason I stopped coming here........you can't add onions to a sandwich--complete silliness.

Bill K.

Yelp
I ordered delivery on UberEATS on 05/18/2023. My coworker and I each ordered the Korean BBQ Cheese Steak Fries, and I also ordered a Pork Bahn Mi sandwich. The sandwich was really good, but it was small. Definitely tasted like a bahni mi, and I'd like to go back and try the different protein options. They had stuff like Bulgogi that I almost got instead of pork. It was a quality sandwich and it had a good amount of sauce as well. The Korean BBQ fries were great, and coworker agrees. I felt like the fries were actually a larger portion than the sandwich, which is good because it was twice the cost. Our only criticism of the fries is that I wish we got more sauce. Overall, I give this place 5 outta 5 stars, and will definitely order from here again.

Mr. Barber Talk ..

Yelp
Try the catfish Po' Boy! It won't disappoint, service is very good as well. The fries with Cajun seasoning....yummy!

Ryan B.

Yelp
Amazing food fries is good and crispy ask for wings fried hard buffalo wings are delicious and the obey wings hit!

J H.

Yelp
first time trying poutine and it was very good portions are worth the money poutine fries (8/10)

Narisa J.

Yelp
Food was 10/10 as always. Still need to try the new chicken sandwich/poboys, but the crispy chicken on the fries and the boneless wings were juicy and tender. This is my favorite french fry spot by far. Service was friendly and fast. Would recommend picking up and eating in the outdoor patio area or taking food to go. The interior is small with few seats by a window ledge that are first come first serve. I heard that the restaurant has been pickup/to go only for a while.

Knickkia H.

Yelp
Great fries and chicken! Friendly service!! A must try for a quick bite!! Honey Garlic WingsKorean Rice BowlCarne Asada are all delicious

Theresa H.

Yelp
We took our Son here to celebrate his Birthday other than a chain restaurant that he usually picks. This place is located at the Rotunda which has recently been revitalized, with Restaurants, Mom's Market, a new Movie Theater, other Shops and Apartments. This place did not disappoint. They have a variety of loaded French Frie combinations, Wings, Sandwiches, Rice Bowls and Taco Bowls. The Staff was polite and asked us if we had any questions. You order your food and seat yourself, everything is made fresh. We ordered a variety of Wings and Loaded Fry combinations, my Son got the Korean Rice bowl with Catfish and fried Egg. Everything was delicious. The Wings were cooked perfectly with a crunchy coating. And the loaded fries were satisfying. We ordered Wings to go for the next day, they were so good. This place is going on my favorite Wing list, I will most definitely be back very soon.

Alejandra H.

Yelp
Such a good wing spot!! I had been craving wings for a long time and after reading their menu, I knew I wanted to come! There were lots of wing flavors to chose from and other different food options as well. We had to get an order of specialty fries since they are called the Local Fry and it didn't disappoint! I got the chicken bacon ranch and it was definitely filling! Next time I hope to try their Hawaiian or Korean style fries. All the chicken wings were nice and crispy!! The garlic parmesan was exactly what I was looking for in that flavor but ... the honey old bay were DELICIOUS!! I LOVEDDDD THEM!! I definitely wish I could've gotten more of them I was also excited to see that they had a boneless options, so I went for a classic honey bbq flavor. The chicken to breading ratio was good so I would recommend! Overall, it was a wonderful experience and will be coming back for the honey old bay wings -- you need to try them!

Kelsey H.

Yelp
This place is amazing. I found them on Uber Eats and decided to try. The fries are super tasty but I wish there was just a little extra sauce. The wing flavor is also great. Will definitely be going back.

Jina L.

Yelp
This place is great if you are hungry but don't exactly know what you're craving. From Vietnamese style sandwiches to Korean fusion menu items, the local fry really gives you many combinations of options. I tried the kimchi fries and the cat fish po-boy. The cat fish was nice and crispy but still soft, and the kimchi actually went so well with the cheese and fries. They are online order only currently, but the wait isn't too long and you'll find seating available outside in a nice plaza area. 10/10!

Daniel S.

Yelp
I love the food here. The fries are cooked to perfection. This can be a challenge for many restaurants. However, when your name is a vocal fry, you better get it right. And this place does!

Dakota M.

Yelp
My second time at the local fry did not disappoint. I ordered the Catfish Poboy. The fish had a nice crunch and flavor. The sauce that came with it was perfect. I loved that it was a good size piece of catfish, as well.

Leah M.

Yelp
I always come here and order pick up.. and I rate them a 4.5/5 .. points away for customer service. today though specifically I got the 3 Chicken tenders meal ($16) and they were extremely soggy.. the breading was literally mushing off the meat, kinda defeats the purpose of it being fried

Brandon D.

Yelp
The Food is amazing! Honey old bay wings and chicken bacon ranch fries are my faves! These are easily some of the best wings in the area. This review would be 5 stars if the wasn't so petty about things like plastic forks. Some friends and I visited here today with our sons and they literally gave us a hard time asking for an extra fork and box to share our food. We all spent above $35, why you would want to charge us for a plastic fork or a box since you guys don't have plates is mind boggling. Hopefully the owner sees this and makes some changes. Don't miss the forest for the trees.

Vishal P.

Yelp
The 5 star review is for the wings only. I got the poutine fries and wings but the wings are definitely the main attraction here. They have decent "loaded fries" here with a good variety of flavors. I've had the poutine fries and I believe the kimchi one here. Overall, they're pretty decent. Now on to the wings which are amazing. I've come here twice and the wings have been great. They're double fried if you don't already know. They're not exactly like bonchon but they are pretty crispy. I usually like wet wings because I love sauce but the dry rub here is one of the best I've ever had. Only dry rub I've tried here is the old bay which I highly recommend. If you are in fed hill and have not stopped by, do yourself a favor and come here if you love wings.

Annabelle L.

Yelp
It had been several years since I'd been to the Local Fry (back when they were located in Fed Hill) but when I saw them next to Toki Tako, my friends and I had to order some fries. Tried to their korean bbq fries and a bulgogi banh mi. The BBQ fries were freaking amazing as many other have said: the fries were perfectly done but didn't become soggy under the delicious juicyness of the korean BBQ meat. We devoured this. I'm salivating just thinking about it again. I also love banh mi so I ordered a bulgogi banh mi--flavors were good, meat was juicy, but it was a bit small. I think Charming Elephant's banh mi is better and more classic, but overall this was a tasty fusion banh mi.
