"Late weekday morning breakfasts and early morning weekend brunch is what The Local is all about. For an indulgent way to start the day order The Blue Goat, which is blueberry bread pudding that’s fried and topped with whipped goat cheese, granola, strawberry puree, and basil. Naps would likely be required after this breakfast but it’s worth it." - Megan duBois

Google
I was very excited to try The Local, but I was not thrilled by the experience. The server was nice but consistently failed to refill our drinks, as did the 2 other people checking on the table. For the brunch beverages, we ordered the Summer Fling, and it had little to no alcohol and included a 2x2 inch frozen chunk of watermelon in what amounted to a rocks glass drink. Meaning we had about an ounce and a half of actual liquid, and it seemed there was no alcohol. As a former bartender who was frustrated by patrons complaining about drinks being too light on alcohol - I'm disappointed. The drink was delicious - I just wonder if they forgot the alcohol. Usually, I am gracious with reviews, but this was a different experience. For food, I asked for the breakfast taquitos. I was informed that the cook with that recipe had left and took it with them. None of the other brunch dishes aligned to what I wanted, so I picked the fried chicken sandwich. It was lacking sauce and flavor. My wife picked the roast beef sandwich, which was cut far too thick. I rarely write reviews for restaurants that disappoint, but I felt this one was needed as this place was the farthest thing from being "The Local".

Google
Seat yourself situation. Several people seated and a couple walked in together. As soon as Grant, a server, was free he brought menus and water to me and the other table. He was very friendly and attentive, frequently checking in and giving updates on food and drink. Ordered vanilla mocha latte Zucchini fries And brunch burger Total: $32 (after tax) I was very satisfied and hope to visit, again, soon.

Google
Such a fun, eclectic and yummy restaurant! Very reasonably priced and service is superb! My friend really enjoyed her brunch meal and so did I. Will definitely be coming back for brunch again soon!

I've seen this place come up on my Google Map but never really had the opportunity to come by until recently. A great cozy little restaurant. My siblings and I came during happy hour by accident which worked out perfectly. Our server Joey was patient, very helpful, and suggested some drinks and food since it was our first time here. Joey was attentive not only to our request but to the others he was serving. Definitely need to stop by if you haven't already.

First time here and you know what? Phenomenal, top-notch service in every area. Food & Drink Quality: I had the fish and chips — beer-battered grouper with French fries, coleslaw, and a side of tartar sauce. Let me tell you… I’d choose this over Captain D’s any day. The fish was perfectly sweet and ON POINT. I also had the Summer Fling Lowdown cocktail — super refreshing! My husband had the Hurricane Platter and said everything was delicious. His drink was the Spicy Pineapple Margarita, and he loved every sip. For dessert, he tried the seasonal crème brûlée — we got the lemon one — and it was gentle, delicious, and a must-try. Big recommendation! Service: Big ups to the staff, and a HUGE shoutout to the amazing bartender, Mr. Spencer! He had the most welcoming aura, was super knowledgeable, and didn’t hesitate to ask questions when needed. We watched him behind the bar and could tell he takes pride in his craft. His energy was magnetic, and his recommendations? Spot on. Environment: What can I say?! This new spot feels just like home. The décor is soothing and relaxing. The back seating area is absolutely beautiful — I love the nature-inspired touches. They’re not just a vibe… THEY’RE THEE EXPERIENCE! Jacksonville, you’ve got to check out The Local. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy quality food, and soak up a whole new energy. You won’t regret it. Thank you, The Local!

Google
First time here & it was a great dine in experience especially with having Joey S as our server. He was very attentive & prompt with our orders and the food was wonderful. He was patient with us & gave us feedback on certain items on the menu we were inquiring about. Drinks were really good too. We’ll definitely be back.

Rebecca Stone

Google
The food was delicious (this was literally some of the best pasta I've ever had!!), the drinks were reasonably priced, and the service was good as well. Our only qualm was that they were out of quite a few things. However, we visited the night before the Gate River Run, so there were several thousand additional people in the city that weekend. Would definitely go back if given the opportunity!

Google
This was my first time at The Local and it was a great place to dine in. A smaller establishment but just enough room for us to maneuver about. Our server Joey S was a great. Followed through with our orders and went a step further to help us get what we wanted for our food. The atmosphere and the workers were all great.

Yelp
Flip was great! Service was amazing and food was fresh. I loved the Fish Tacos, they came out fast and I could taste the freshness.

Kathryn G.

Yelp
Love it!!! Took a large group here on a Sunday morning for brunch and it was a great experience. Our waitress was very kind and helpful, and even grabbed an assistant to help take orders and clean up when it started getting busier. The restaurant is warm, natural, and gorgeous inside (plus I'm in love with the brown chairs they have!). I'd also love to sit outside on their patio when the weather cools down! As for the food, I enjoyed the Breakfast BLAT ($15), which was really tasty. My only complaint was that the avocado was forgotten, which makes the dish! The home fries were delicious though, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I also tried the Ahi Tuna Poke Nachos ($17) and they were bright and flavorful. The crispy wonton "chips" were perfect with the soft tuna as well. Everyone else at my table really enjoyed their dishes and agreed that we need to come back! I had been searching for a great brunch spot near me and I've finally found it! I can't wait to be back and try so many more things on their menu!

Yelp
Such a unique list of choices on the menu! We started with the Panko fried zucchini and it didn't disappoint! Lightly breaded with a fantastic aioli. My friend had the fish tacos and they looked amazing! My sandwich was delicious! Eggs, bacon, avocado, and tomato on sourdough bread. Love the outdoor seating!

Yelp
Visited The Local recently. The Happy Hour seemed to be a great deal and the menu looked very interesting. We walked in were able to choose our own seating. Inside featured a casual atmosphere with art featured and really cool barcodes where you could look into the artist. A great idea. They had really nice outdoor seating as well. We arrived at a time when lunch and brunch were both still available and there was a large menu for both. I ordered a Luminescence $4 draft. Great deal. We also wanted to share the Zucchini Fries for an appetizer off of the Happy Hour menu but they were not available. I ordered the Portabello sandwich and my wife ordered the Enzo sandwich. The portabello sandwich was a good combination of vegetables and flavors, but a bit salty. It was also on a normal hamburger type roll. That was the wrong choice. It would have been better on ciabatta bread or something more hearty. It came with the homemade chips. The chips were fresh, crispy and really good. Enzo sandwich was also good and fresh. This was the bread they should have used for the portobello sandwich. The sweet potatoes as a side were good, just OK. The service was spotty. We were waited on immediately, our food came out very quickly but then it became somewhat spotty. I basically had three different servers. I definitely would have ordered another beer if someone came back to the table. We waited a bit for the check and then to pay as well. Good ideas, a lot of choices, nice environment, the execution here needs to be a bit better.

Emily P.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, with the exception of breakfast, the food is subpar. The roasted root vegetable salad included large raw chunks of sweet potatoes, beets, etc. They were not roasted and could have cracked a tooth. The chicken was salty and dry. I have probably been a dozen times with friends who want to try it and, again with the exception of breakfast, it is always disappointing. Breakfast is pretty good, hence the 3 stars. Lunch and dinner is 2, at best.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Stopped in for pre-dinner snacks/drinks. We sat outside since we had dogs with us. There were a lot of options on the menu I was stuck between but went with the goatacado salad. This salad was great! Exactly what I was looking for, a light and tasty appetizer before dinner. Service was a little slow however our server was attentive.

A P.

Yelp
Food was creative, nicely presented and the place was cute. Service was also great! It was WAAAAY down at the end of a busy road so it was pretty quiet though busy, which was nice.

Jorge A.

Yelp
Very good food, on time for pickup. Our family to go place. Lunch or dinner, all good.

Mark R.

Yelp
First Amanda, WOW!!! Love her! I have to say her level of expertise knowledge of the menu and customer service delivery is beyond reproach. She was very patient as I asked numerous questions and continue to smile and offer suggestions. And I must say she was spot on! The food was very good, the honey spicy chicken nuggets were outstanding. She was right there was not a lot of heat just enough for you to know it's there, but the honey truly provided an excellent flavor. My friend got the chicken Alfredo for the three of us to split as an appetizer and I have to say I am not an Alfredo fan but this was excellent. I would make an entire meal out of it. Had I known it was this good? The chicken sandwich was great for the flavor and far from dry. The only thing I I missed out on where is the salad as fries were accidentally brought out. It worked out because my friend ate them all but I missed out on a salad. Overall, this is a place I definitely would go back to. The restaurant was warm and inviting and I loved all the original artwork on the wall. There was one piece that I would love to add to my collection, however was far from my price range. Thank you the local for having Amanda, she truly made this an outstanding experience.

Yelp
Really chill place for brunch on a Saturday. It was busy, but not insane. We were able to grab a seat right away at 9:30am. We got a mimosa flight, as that's kinda the only alcohol they had for brunch. But also, I love a flight, so I probably would have ordered this regardless. Husband and I split it and it was perfect for us. I wasn't trying to get crazy because I have a bunch of errands to run today, but it gave us both a nice fuzzy feeling. So mission accomplished. (not to mention if you split one and realize you want more, you can always order another one). On to the food. Food was great! I got the Gumby and the ingredients were fresh, clean, and hearty. My husband got the steak and eggs and he said it was delicious. We ended up splitting and order of the Blueberry bread pudding w/goat cheese. That was AWEOME! We love interesting and different food and that really hit the spot. Even our server was like "you will not be disappointed", and she was right. When we left at 10:30 the parking lot was full. I would definitely recommend someone go eat here. Very good!

Kelly T.

Yelp
This restaurant is very popular o0ular for lunch/brunch on a Saturday. We stopped in around 12, and the place was completely full. The hostess was able to find the one empty table and sat us pretty quickly. The menu has plenty of breakfast and lunch options available. We opted for the standard chicken and waffles as well as a southwestern chicken salad. Both dishes were nice size portions. The flavor was a little lacking, though. The chicken on the southwest chicken salad was a bit overcooked and hard. The rest of the salad was tasty. The chicken and waffles was also average tasting. Next time, we will try other entrees.

Matthew L.

Yelp
I've seen this place off the main road for years and have never been so when a friend's mom came to town we decided to give it a try. We went on a Monday morning right at 9:00 AM (opening time). We were the only ones in the place. I asked the server if it was busy and he said Monday's and Tuesday are slow. I asked if it would be a good place to grab breakfast and sit for a couple hours to read emails and he recommended it. The service was great and it has a nice casual atmosphere. There is a nice "deck" out back that looked like a great place to unwind. I'l be back when the weather is nice. Food we tried: * Gumby's Bowl - overall I rate this as good. The use of sweet potatoes as the base does make it a little sweet. * Local Plate - a very traditional item. It was very good. * The Blue Goat - overall we rated this as good Cons: * Does not open until 9:00 AM on weekdays * A bit pricey for breakfast

Yelp
I have had this place bookmarked for a couple of years and we finally made it today. What a disappointing experience!!! We started with the green goddess hummus which came with roasted/blistered carrots and toasted baguette slices. The hummus itself was good. It would have been better with pita slices or cucumber slices...basically anything else. The carrots were just plain gross and the baguette slices were hard and strangely chewy at the same time. For lunch I ordered the Fried chicken Sandwich. Mine looked nothing like the pictures on Yelp. My bun was burnt, the chicken was burnt, I had to ask for more sauce because there was barely any. I showed the girl who brought the food out the burnt bun and asked for another. She literally walked out the kitchen with the top half of a bun in her hand and handed it to me. WTF! I guess I needed to show her both the bottom and top to get a total replacement. The chicken was so overcooked that I could not bite through a portion of it. I ordered blue cheese chips as my side they were ok. My husband got the club and BCR fries as his side. He said it was good. I typically do not post half eaten food but I am this time to show the discrepancy of what I received vs photos on Yelp. There are just too many good places to eat in this town. I don't think I'll be giving this one another try.

Yelp
We came at a good time, right at 3pm so there was plenty of seating choices and happy hour was just starting. Unfortunately, the happy hour appetizer food item we wanted was not available (Zucchini fries) so we opted for just sandwiches to split and share. I had a soda water with lime (no charge, woohoo) and my husband had a happy hour draft ($4 but listed at $6 on the check and was quickly changed on our bill. Overall, service was good but would have ordered another draft if we had the opportunity. The portabella melt was a bit salty but overall had good flavor. It would be fantastic on a hearty roll or bread, the roll it came on (a soft hamburger type roll) became soggy fast and did not hold up to the other ingredients. The Enzo sandwich had great flavors, I really liked how the fig aioli elevated the prosciutto, mozzarella and arugula. Sadly, the prosciutto had a thick and rubbery fatty part that was large and inedible taking away from my total enjoyment of this sandwich. We ordered the fresh chips and sweet potato (home?) fries as sides. The chips were good but I didn't realize the sweet potatoes would be chunks of what seemed like a cut cup baked sweet potato-mostly mushy and not crispy like I expect fries or even home fries to be. One last item of note, the chairs inside are incredibly uncomfortable, metal and not great for sitting in for long periods of time. The menu was quite extensive but I'm not sure we will be back to try anything else.

Doria C.

Yelp
Great food, easy parking, and friendly service. I would recommend for a nice casual lunch.

Ira B.

Yelp
We're always looking for new lunch/brunch places, and were excited to find The Local. As far as the foundational aspects (nice patio, good service, trendy look, and bar), they have it all. In fact, our server Mari was one of the kindest service-industry pro's I've encountered. In terms of the food, it was OK, though unexceptional. I had the hot chicken & waffle (my go-to at a number of restaurants), and theirs ranked as a bit of a disappointment. My wife had the SW Chicken salad, which was "fine." Overall this is more of a casual vibe/fun spot, and if that's what you're seeking it's a 5-star. For me however, it's just a bit short.

Martin H.

Yelp
Our friends invited us to brunch here. Many of us ordered the BL "A" T, a BLT with avocado added. They messed the order so one order was missing. No problem but it took an extra 10 minutes for one of our party to eat. There was an opportunity to make up for the error, a free cup of coffee, something ... but no. The food was excellent. Really enjoyed the BLAT. Coffee wasn't great and refills hard to come by. Overall, a good time. Nice to eat outside.

Fay W.

Yelp
Came today for brunch and to be honest for the price it was a pretty horrible experience. It took forever to get food which we were fine with because it's beautiful outside but the rest of our experience was not ok. Drinks were dropped without straws, for the water it was fine but for my husbands iced latte it wasn't. As far as food I ordered the fig salad with blackened chicken and my chicken came out absolutely inedible and rubbery. Finally when the server came back around he offered to go have me a fresh piece made but it took almost 20 minutes to get a new piece and by that time my salad was pretty much gone and I was just waiting to finish it sans chicken. When it finally came out I had a few small bites of salad left. The server apologized for the wait and I appreciated that but over all for $50 dollars plus a tip I would not come back just based on how poor this experience was.

Anne B.

Yelp
Empty restaurant on busy night. Didn't get itemized receipt and bill seemed about 30$ higher than it should be. Food was mid- Do better!

Ashton R.

Yelp
I really really REALLY wanted to like this place. I've passed by many times and have always wondered if the food is good. Last week, we decided to stop by for breakfast and try it out. Our server was super friendly and the atmosphere was comfortable. Perhaps if we were to go back for dinner on a busier day we might have a better experience? We didn't enjoy any of our food. It was either undercooked, overcooked, or missing key items (no egg on an bacon, avocado, and egg sandwich). It also took us a very long time to receive our food. So when we received disappointing meals, we decided not to wait again to have them remade. I ended up finishing my latte, sending our food back, and tipping our waitress. It's not often that I send food back and leave hungry... Maybe we'll attempt to go again in the future, but for now, I really wouldn't recommend this spot to anyone.

Laura P.

Yelp
Food was great and so was service. I hadn't been in since they remodeled and boy is it nice now. We had a cocktail and the chicken nuggets and the fruity pebbles waffle. So delish and sweet and crunchy. I subbed the fries for the grits and they were good just needed a little sweetener. The ube drink was yummy and super refreshing. I will def go back!!

Monique H.

Yelp
My husband and I love trying new places. Unfortunately, The Local left a bad taste in our mouths. We were promptly seated, but things went downhill from there. We waited about 10-15 min without anyone acknowledging our presence. We moved to the bar and expressed to two staff members that we had sat without anyone acknowledging us. Not once did anyone apologize for the lack of service. Overall, the food was decent and Hailey the bartender was pleasant. Because of the food quality and Hailey, I'm giving 3 stars. I would give The Local a second chance.

Bailey G.

Yelp
Came here for a sandwich decided on a salad, toast, and yogurt parfait instead. The deluxe toast came with 2 large pieces of toast (cut into 4 halves) and ordered eggs as fried. It was very good and would get again. Ordered the goatacado with chicken. Would have liked more dressing but overall was good and was a light meal. The healthy crunch was a good yogurt parfait with plenty of granola. Would be enough for brunch but would order a side to completely fill me up for lunch/dinner. Came around 3:30 pm on a Sunday and the service was a bit slow. Food took about 30 - 40 minutes to come out after ordering. Beautiful patio with plenty of umbrella coverage. It was nice to be sitting outside enjoying the sounds of nature instead of listening to music.

robin m.

Yelp
Was here for lunch recently and was good. Came back with family for breakfast. Waiter was fine but food was average at best. Husband's eggs cooked incorrectly but we had to search the waiter down after he didn't return for more than 10 min. Requested the eggs to be done correctly (not hard) took 3 attempts. Then they charged us for 2 of his orders- realized they made an error and just took one off. Really, you should have comped his meal- he ate way after we were all done. The BLAT was not very good. A thin smear of avocado with hardly any bacon but lots of lettuce. Very disappointed after having a good salad lunch there.

Tish C.

Yelp
There has been a change in the layout since our only other visit in 2017. We were seated quickly and our server was very attentive. The food had the same quality, actually better. Can't wait to try dinner!

Scott L.

Yelp
Nice little selection of local craft beers and good happy hour cocktails and wines. The burger was a win also. Always has people, never empty so that's a great sign.

Avery C.

Yelp
Came for brunch today with out of town guests, and it was HORRENDOUS. Served us cold, completely raw shrimp in a poached egg dish. My egg dish had completely raw eggs and raw bacon. My fiancé had cold Korean poached eggs, and my friend's wife was serviced over cooked chicken and cold waffles. Did they make it better? No. They took the raw shrimp dish off, but nothing else for the rest of us. Do not come here.

Mova R.

Yelp
Food & service were great! Also loved the ambiance... One of the better breakfast/brunch spots in Jax for sure.

Giselle A.

Yelp
I think this place has the best loaded fries I have had in a while. The actual name for the plate is called the B.C.R. Fries, and the cheese hit different. Unfortunately, the B.C.R. Fries were not what I ordered so I couldn't devour all of it. I had the Argentinian salmon, and it was delicious with a nice little spicy kick to it. My fiancé had the shrimp tacos, and unfortunately, he didn't think it was that great. The sauces were good, but the shrimp was lacking in flavor. We went there for Mother's Day, and it surprisingly wasn't that busy during dinner time. The restaurant looks amazing on the inside, with lots of big windows - making the place feel nice and open. Our waitress was very helpful and patient with us. We had to send the bread that came with the hummus back because it was just inedible to us -- biting into the bread felt like we were breaking our teeth. She brought our some fresh, softer bread for us and we were able to enjoy the hummus dish properly. I'll definitely be back for the BCR Fries in the future.

Cherie R.

Yelp
This spot had a nice interior and vibe! Honestly I personally didn't find the salmon salad too flavorful but the others in my party really liked their entrees! The hot honey chicken bites are delicious, a must have! The green goddess hummus was also super good, the crispy baguettes it was served with were so good too!

Beth R.

Yelp
Wow, just wow! My husband and I had dinner at the Miramar location on 03/07/2024. We'd made a reservation and were taken to a cozy table for two, tucked away by the window -- very romantic! Our server, Nat, came right over to the table and greeted us. She had a great energy and a positive 'vibe'. She made drink and dinner recommendations, and she was spot on! My husband I both ordered the steak dinner with salad and baked potato. The steaks were cooked to perfection; the salads were fresh and delicious (the dressing was amazing!), and the baked potatoes were hot and tender. What a wonderful dining experience!

Nancy Z.

Yelp
I live around the corner from this convenient place! I have worked my way through all menus and there isn't a miss in there. Weekends brunch have a few specials for weekend dining only. If they have fish and chips-jump on it! My Brother-in-Law who is British and has traveled the world said the fish and chips were excellent! Try the Blue goat French toast. Plan to split it several times-it's divine! Can't miss!!!!!!!

Chiarina B.

Yelp
Comfortable breezy place. I've been for breakfast and for dinner food both excellent. Balanced portions and efficient service. A nice go to

Chanelle G.

Yelp
I went to the Local for Sunday brunch. We didn't have a reservation but the wait time was only about 10 minutes, which was great for a packed Sunday. We really enjoyed the back patio area. Great food and great atmosphere. I ordered the brunch burger, which was cooked very well to my liking! Also enjoyed the mimosa. Our server was amazing and took great care of us during our visit.

Mark B.

Yelp
Have never had anything bad at the Local. I have to say that they have the best fries around. Not sure how they're made but always crispy on the outside with a fluffy inside. So good!!

Emma S.

Yelp
I went here for brunch with my partner and his friend. I was super excited because online it looked super good! Unfortunately, our experience was very poor. Our server was rarely in the dining room (she did seem like the only server working), so the wait to order alone was a little annoying but it was okay because we just wanted food lol BUT Once we ordered, not only did it take forever for our food to come out but it was underwhelming to say the least. The "hot honey chicken " was 0/10. It's not actually hot, it's just honey and it had a super weird aftertaste (all three of us took a bite to make sure I wasn't going crazy lol). We didn't eat the dish other than taste testing it and we set it at the very edge of the table. 20 or so minutes go by and our server asked if we wanted a box.... As a server myself I was offended that she didn't even consider asking if there was anything wrong with the dish. I let her know we didn't like it and would prefer (due to the amount of a wait we'd already experienced ) that we'd just like to get it taken off our bill and to send it back. :/// Our drinks were OK, but nothing special. Nonetheless, very disappointed as we waited to eat all morning to get a meal together.

M O.

Yelp
So good. They make a mean espresso martini and the avocadgoat salad (or whatever it's called) is amazing

Rachel T.

Yelp
We love our little neighborhood restaurant!! My boyfriend and I went here for happy hour, brunch , and dinner, and had great experiences all 3 times. We were seated right away, had great service, and delicious food. The happy hour discounts are awesome, and I especially loved the green goddess hummus. My boyfriend loves their purple dragon drink, which is coconut and passionfruit flavored. I enjoyed a poke bowl which essentially was a giant salad with ahi tuna on top. For brunch we enjoyed breakfast sandwiches, and most recently I tried their shrimp cauliflower pad thai. That is definitely my new favorite, but it is very spicy! The portion sizes are large and the prices are reasonable. We especially loved our server Miranda who made us feel so welcome in our new neighborhood. They have a nice outdoor patio in the back, and offer live music on Wednesdays. One thing to note is that this restaurant does not have a liquor license, so they can only sell beer and wine. They do not have cocktails or mixed drinks like the location at the beach. There is a parking lot outside and it is just down Hendricks Avenue past San marco square.

Kim C.

Yelp
I went to The Local for birthday brunch. I ordered a couple Bloody Mary's... spicy but I like it! ;) I had a hard time deciding what to order. I went with the Grumpy's Bowl (I swapped out the sausage for bacon... because, well, BACON!). Everything was delicious! I also ordered The Blue Goat to-go. They had me at: fried crispy blueberry bread pudding!! *chef's kiss* (no picture included because I don't think I could give it justice) The only con: parking on a Sunday during brunch was a little tricky. But the food made it was worth it.

Dominique C.

Yelp
I enjoyed my time here and I think the staff did a good job with the size of the party! The local is a fitting name for the location and atmosphere! My salmon had a nice presentation and the quinoa was some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. The peppers and edamame was a nice addition to the quinoa. Also baby the sweet tea was good, I was very impressed! My favorite part was the outdoor seating in the back, the greenery surrounding the back area and lights were really nice! It's also winter in Florida so they were kind enough to have the outdoor heaters on for our party! I would give this place another try because due to I'm sure Covid shortages they didn't have most of the appetizers I was interested in on the menu. If I visit again, I would def update you all :)

Miriam C.

Yelp
I found out the hard way, this place has two locations! The one in Atlantic beach is adorable and I can't wait to try it! This one is where my sister meant, so I drove over to it after we figured out we were at two different restaurants. I will say this location had a smaller brunch menu and less fancy decorations, but it still has its own charm. Drinks came out quickly and our server was nice. Fruity pebble waffle was WOW!! So beautifully presented and full of flavor! I loved the breakfast BLAT! The burger was good but nothing special. Loved the fries! Definitely can't wait to try the location in AB!!!!

Michelle D.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting The Local with friends for the first time following the Wine and Chocolate 5K. We found a nice spot at the outside bar. I ordered a draft beer with raspberry hints which hit the spot. I do not remember the name, but if you mention raspberry I'm sure your server will know;) We ordered three appetizers, okra your way, buffalo cauliflower and hot honey chicken bites. The buffalo cauliflower was my favorite! Packed with a lots of flavor, a little heat and was actually good for me. The hot honey chicken bites were juicy and I loved the mix of spicy and sweet. With regards to the okra we did half and half, but I preferred the buttermilk marinated and deep-fried version. The grilled version with a little too chewy for me. When we first arrived the server was not sure who was going to help us. So when no one else showed up he stepped in. Thanks for looking out for us! I would definitely like to go back and explore more of the menu, both food and beer!

Yelp
It's ok. Food is a little pricey but once in a while I'll go for the location and good space for a work lunch. Most people I've spoken to like it more than I do - it's pretty popular.

Yelp
Stopped by for brunch and sat at the bar. The bartender Sean was killing it. Super friendly and on top of everything. I got the mimosa flight not realizing that it comes with an entire bottle of champagne. That's definitely different and a win in my book! The gumpy bowl was amazing! Everything that came out of the kitchen looked and smelled great! 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
Took the fam for Sunday breakfast. Ambiance upon walking-in was very welcoming and seating was spacious. This review is based on BREAKFAST. Let me start-off saying service was great for breakfast! And to the main review: We ordered the chicken and waffle, blue goat, refillable coffee and latte. Chicken and waffle: - Hotel batter puts their waffle to shame. - There must be a shortage on chicken breasts or these were flat-chested coz this was some skinny piece of breast-- looks like they filleted it into 3 slices..very sad. - Menu said strawberrie"S"..again sadly, wifey only received 1(one). - The syrup and butter could have been the saving-grace, but it wasn't enough to take it anywhere even if we forced ourselves. The Blue goat- i was pleasantly surprised, but alas, i was not feeling sweet-teethish today. It is a great dessert for two or three! Refillable coffee - watered-down this morning..almost was a bait-and-switch to make me get the pricier latte! they got me! It could be easily fixed by making a new brew..but seems like the barista/server didn't feel like making a new batch. again..why so stingy? Overall, disappointed with breakfast and we were still hungry. It's LENT for my family and I, but thinking it's Sunday we'd give ourselves a break..but nope! Seems like people have better reviews for lunch/dinner. Save your taste-buds and make that extra trip a half-mile to Metro Diner for a better, fulfilling breakfast. Will we go back? Unlikely.

Yelp
Awesome breakfast spot! The hurricane is no joke. I couldn't finish all the food and I usually do. Mari was so awesome, food was ordered prepared and out to the table lightning fast! Definitely will return.

Yelp
Service was on point. Restaurant was clean and serve was awesome. I'd definitely recommend Local as a winning choice pick for one of the BEST restaurants.
