The Boston Area’s Best Bars For Memorial Day Chardonnay | Eater

"This outpost of The Local may not have a patio like its two sister spots, but you’ll feel right at home in the warm and inviting brick building a stone’s throw from the main road in Wellesley Hills. The same inventive New American dishes await, along with a stellar selection of wines." - Molly McDonough

Ok I really had low expectations of this place and I was totally impressed. The menu is kinda standard but the food is amazing ! I got the French roast beef and it was amazing my buddy got the burger and agin great the best two things was the box of donuts ! Amazing and our server Ruby. She was the most pleasant and really made us feel like family.

Staff is lovely - Ana 😍, Josh, Lisa (the best around), Courtney, Sam, etc. are not only wonderful servers, bartenders, hosts, and runners (they do it all) but wonderful people as well. We are all lucky to go out to eat here and see their faces. I urge everyone who goes out to eat to remember that the people waiting on them are real people with real feelings! Be kind and tip well. Don’t yell at your servers, yell at yourself for caring too much. Have some joy and whimsy in your lives, people!

The Local Kitchen & Drinks in Wellesley completely exceeded my expectations. From the warm, inviting ambiance to the attentive service, everything about this place felt thoughtfully curated. It’s casual yet classy—perfect for a night out with friends or a cozy dinner date. I ordered the short rib grilled cheese and it was out of this world—tender, flavorful, and perfectly crisped. The truffle fries were addictive, and their craft cocktail menu had some seriously creative options. You can tell the kitchen puts care into every dish, with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. The vibe is lively without being loud, and the service was spot-on: friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. This place has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. If you're in the Wellesley area, don’t miss it!

We went during lunch time and the restaurant was busy but not so busy we were ignored. The menu offered a great selection of items. There was a number of items that I will have to go back and try. Staff was friendly and our food came out quickly and hot. An excellent experience.

I went to visit this place on Wednesday July 2nd to purchase lunch for my team. I entered the establishment and stood at the podium waiting for someone to assist. A minute or two later, two older Caucasian walked in and stood behind me. another 2 minutes later, a tall pale gentlemen comes to the podium, grabbed two menus, completely ignoring my presence, not even a hello and addressed the two ladies asking if they were looking to be seated. Then left to seat them to a table. This left me standing there with my jaw to the floor. Another 3 minutes passed before he and a host returned to the podium asking me if I needed help. Absolutely flabbergasted, I asked him was his actions by design he said he didn't see me there and left me to deal with the host. The host who then said "oh, he normally doesn't seat people as he is a waiter" excusing his blatant racist actions. This was disgusting behavior and my establishment will no longer be giving these people our business. I will be sure to have a proper review via all social platforms so people know where they dont need to spend their money. They gave a $25 gift card for my "inconvenience" and denied my business partner from speaking to the GM when he called in to help me with the situation as I was frazzled.

Tasty food, good service, portion is bigger than expected. In general a nice place either to bring your family, your friends or your date.

we came to the local to have dinner last evening. When we got there, there was no hostess to be found. After about Five minutes someone showed up. We asked for a Booth. She said we would have to wait because none of the booths were cleaned. Mind you – they were all empty – but not cleaned. We followed her down and she started to wipe down the table and the seats with a wet towel. She acted like this was beneath her and was very abrupt in her motions. After she left – the table was soaking wet as were the seats. She had placed the paper mats right on the wet table where they in turn got soaking wet. When we asked her to dry the table and the seats – she became extremely rude and acted like we were bothering her. We felt very unwelcome and the job she did was again – incomplete. So we decided to leave without having dinner. The experience was underwhelming to say the least. when you go to dinner, you expect to be treated with respect and decorum not like you are bothering the staff. I do not recommend the local.

The food overall was quite good but it seemed a bit pricey to me. Perhaps everything in Wellesley is more expensive. There's plenty of seating here. We did have a minor snafu with the seating but they fixed it relatively quickly.
