Goa, India Dining Guide to the Food & Drink Scene | Eater

"A warm, family-run neighbourhood restaurant that feels like visiting old friends; the casual setting suits homely preparations such as rava-coated silver pomfret shallow-fried on a low flame, crab xacuti, and refreshing kokum soda, offering a clear local alternative to the North-Indian-style dhabas on the tourist beach strip." - Zinara Rathnayake

My husband and I went for dinner this evening. The atmosphere was great. The food was served hot and it was delicious! Our server was friendly and inviting. The prices were fair for the quality and quantity of food, that's for sure. We want to try the Brunch now!! We will be back!

Wife suggested IHOP and I countered with let's try this spot I keep driving by with plenty of customers, and it's close to us. We did breakfast. I had a classic breakfast and the bacon was awesome. Eggs were done right. French Toast delicious. Arnold Palmer sweet tea was good. Wife had a chicken fried chicken and she loved her food. Tammy was our server. She's got to be the most pleasant and helpful servers I have ever had. Prices are okay. Food is great. Atmosphere is nice. Love it. We will be returning. Absolutely worth the positive change from the chain restaurants.

Google
Such a cute little place! We came for breakfast once and enjoyed their chocolate chip pancakes. The BLT was very tasty with the aioli, and the dinner menu was nice too. The cheese curds were absolutely delicious, and enjoyed their popular salmon entree. My partner had the Alfredo and said it was good, but too cheesy. Good service and nice atmosphere though

We just moved to this area and this cute little place is just a few minutes away. We stopped by for breakfast today. The classic Eggs Benedict and the breakfast burrito were both pretty good. They use a thick ham steak on the benny, and the burrito had very little chorizo in it and the green chili is a bit watery. We also tried the cheese curds because, what not? They aren’t crunchy, but have a really nice flavor - a tad bit oily though.

I saw this restaurant while driving in the Springs today and decided to stop in for lunch. After looking at all of the great choices, I decided on the Swiss & Mushroom Burger… I can say it was seriously the BEST one of those I’ve ever had! The garlic aioli sauce was the perfect touch… It was not overpowering, yet enough to really set it apart from any other mushroom Swiss burger I’ve tried elsewhere… And the coleslaw was great too!… The service was also outstanding too! I was seated right away and the food came quickly (despite it being their lunch-rush)! Also, both of the female servers were very courteous and helped out each other with making the rounds and helping me/other patrons taking our orders and serving us… I always love to support “Ma-And-Pa’s”, and I’ll definitely be back next time I’m down this way again! … PS: Read the bio of the owner on their website… Definitely explains how he learned to cook such delicious food over the years!

Google
A-maz-ing! We are visiting the area in our RV. We would definitely return here if we were staying longer. My husband had the Smoked Gouda burger with two over medium eggs and loved it. I had The Hangover Wrap, and my side was grilledvegetables. I never eat like that, and it was worth every darn calorie! The wrap was a delicious mix of awesome, and the vegetables were fresh and delicious. I also had the Happy Hour Cosmopolitan, delicious.

The front of the house was great, super friendly and welcoming. The food was the issue. I paid almost $16 for 2 pieces of fish, very over cooked and completely flavorless The fries were chewy, not crisp or undercooked, just chewy which was weird

Google
This totally used to be a Pizza Hut, but the food is way better I promise. Breakfast was excellent and well priced. Taking a look at the reviews, maybe stick to breakfast here, maybe don't listen to the unhappy chicas idk.

Yelp
***Update***(TL;DR) My review still stands, STRONG!!! So, as both a guilty pleasure, to be (finally) able to get my burgers cooked the right way, I did a little "Experiment." We tried them 4 times in 2 weeks... Both because they are fabulous, But: I don't know if many people are aware, and who use(d) delivery services, or find a favorite menu item, that at first were amazing, then you get it again, only to find out that it wasn't great, like the first (or many) time. So, - ALL 4 orders, different days/nights, different servers (all exceptional), and each time, no kidding they were the same quality, same cooked to order, delicious, hot, FRESH, "Homemade!" Tony and his "crew," have impressed us so much, it is OUR favorite restaurant, (and they are family-oriented, and give a Military discount. GO .... NOW!!! (obtw: even on nights when they were slammed, we got our to-go order in 10 minutes!!! ****You have to go and try for yourselves!!!! ***ORIGINAL REVIEW***(TL;DR) I have had the most incredible dining experiences at this restaurant! The food was delicious - every dish was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented, Homemade, even their salad dressings, and bar drinks (finally, someone who knows how to make an exceptional Bloody Mary (it's nearly impossible to find a gem of a restaurant that DOES NOT use pre-made food or alcohol!) Also, I have been to every type of "Burger Restaurant & NOT ONE of them EVER has made a medium rare hamburger... Theirs are so exceptional that, I think we have gotten them 3×'s in one week! I love the service: Every time I have been there, you can see the owner, and chef busting his behind to make every single dining experience as perfect as possible - Tony, the owner, has opened, owned, and/or run 46 SUCCESSFUL restaurants - and most people don't even realize that he IS the owner! Since the Local Table has opened, we have tried all kinds of different items. All of his food is upscale without the "Ego," or arrogance, or super expensive. Their ambiance is very nice, relaxed, and family-oriented. We also love that over time he has had different menu items...Along with the gripe of not finding an amazing burger, it is also IMPOSSIBLE to find True Buffalo Wings, there are several Wing places around, that call some of their wings, "Buffalo," which are made with both butter & Vinegar in their sauces...I would LOVE to see Wings, and other "bar food options: Fried Mushrooms, Fried Zucchini, and similar items, and a few others because I already know in advance that EVERY single item they make is just phenomenal! Also, Desiree, Neavah, and Destiny are: hands down one of the best servers I have EVER had! They are attentive, and knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The atmosphere was elegant yet comfortable. I can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu. Definitely a new favorite spot! And, thank you for having the ONLY (REAL) restaurant in our Security, widefield, & fountain areas! Finally, I will continue to order, and to dine in with friends & family!! AND: recommend ALL of you to go give them a try, i promise they never disappoint us, and we are all very picky!!!!

Sam V.

Yelp
We arrived hungry and tired from LA. The reviews looked good but the food is actually SOOOOOO good!!! The ambiance is of a small diner run by locals. Highly recommend the French Dip with garlic aioli/horseradish with (fresh) fries... we shared a chicken Cesar salad and with drinks the bill was super affordable, and service was on point. Our server had the best recommendations on places to visit. So next on the list: Bishop's Castle, Garden of The Gods and Manitou Springs (?) Stay tuned....

Yelp
I'm in the middle of my meal and I felt I should write my review. Service is amazing. My server and the hostess were extremely polite and professional. Simple diner decor but fitting for the style of food that they serve. It's cozy. The food is spectacular. This chicken fried steak for breakfast is fantastic! Very happy with my choice! Good coffee too!

Yelp
This is a great place to get a good, filling breakfast. Their serving sizes are huge for the price! We went on a Saturday morning - they only serve breakfast/brunch on the weekends, and we opted for the brunch side of the menu. I got the hangover burrito which is bigger than a 6 inch sandwich from subway, to put into perspective how gigantic this thing was. It had a very unique choice of fillings (coleslaw, bbq pulled pork, Mac n cheese, and something else I'm forgetting) which somehow pulled together SO NICELY. It was delicious. In the future, I would probably do it without the tortilla but it was good regardless. My BF got the chicken Mac n Cheese and said it was good but the chicken lacked flavor. It wouldn't be his first pick for next time. We both got drinks from the bar menu and again, large portions of alcohol in each drink for a great price. Service was super friendly, we were seated fast on a busy Saturday, and there's plenty of parking. The bathrooms are pretty small but well maintained. We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
I tried the first time tonight using a delivery service and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. I will be going there next week to try breakfast. So far so good.

Yelp
Food was really good, service was good! Can't wait to come back! We ordered the pork bbq loaded fries, cheese curds and spicy Cajun pasta! Everything was delicious.

Yelp
We went on Sunday morning and they were very busy. They had the best service and the food was excellent. Whenever I'm in town again, I will visit. Shoutout to Desiree.

Joe G.

Yelp
First and only time. Went for Sunday lunch. Loud indoors w/ walls that amplify sound, no noise absorbing. Sat outdoors due to loud indoors and were forgotten about, no drink or staff in sight. Slight breeze but burning sun so set up an umbrella to prevent sun burn. Waitress then quickly came out, said umbrellas were down because of the wind, got drinks and took our order. Wind wasn't really blowing so waitress agreed to keep umbrella up. Others also set up umbrellas due to hot sun, w/no assistance from staff and had problems because they weren't tightened properly. A loose umbrella caused a problem and different waitress decided to take them all down instead of properly setting them up. Food came out with no condiments. Asked waitresses for salt and condiments and got the "eye roll". Sorry we bothered you but you are the waitress and should've know to bring condiments. Came back with condiments but never got salt. Too much drama for what could've been an enjoyable relaxing lunch. Food was decent but lost any future business from me and other couple. Update: There does appear to be some confusion as the group I was with, and I, never disrespected our waitress or any of the staff and certainly never called anyone stupid. Now I'm being accused of attempting to intimidate and bullying? That's a lie and pathetic. In fairness, the staff did appear to be dealing with several guests over the umbrella issue. We actually didn't have any problems with the umbrella setup, other guest did. Although it was uncomfortably sunny and hot when the staff decided to take down all umbrellas instead of assisting guests having problems setting up umbrellas, there seemed to be disagreements with staff and those groups, not the group I was with. My reasons for the comments I made have to do with first, the loudness inside not softened with some type of noise absorption on the walls; second being forgotten in the outdoor patio; third never getting salt as we didn't want to further upset our waitress after getting the "eye roll", and fourth the poor manner in which the outdoor umbrella issue was addressed, without a manager, which did cause tension and disagreements with some guest. My comments are not disrespectful and only made due to issues I felt are not the norm at other restaurants, so the owner and staff can hopefully address issues in a way that prevents escalating problems and makes the location more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the owner is either confusing us with a different group or his response has been embellished, (as we did not disrespect our waitress or any staff) to only address and defend the tension and disagreements caused by the outdoor umbrellas and not actually addressing any other issues. In my opinion, if a guest directly disrespects or insults any of the staff, and especially if problems get out of control to the point of "intimidation and bullying", as claimed by the owner, the party should be asked to leave immediately. Sadly, the unprofessional response from the owner further shows the manner in which even this review is escalated by the owner embellishment and choosing to falsely accuse me of intimidation and "bullying", practically challenging me to a fight and calling me a "dick". Wow.! Hey have at it, I'm not a tough guy, and definitely don't need to return somewhere with this level of hostility for simply reviewing my experience. Oh well, I give up.

Yelp
The food choices are great! The chef knows what he's doing. The wait staff are very friendly.

Yelp
We ate here yesterday and it was the best lunch I've had in a long time! First of all our server was excellent. She brought our drinks right away and knew we were chatting and so told us to put our menus at the edge of the table when we were ready, which we really appreciated. One of us had a gluten-free burrito in a bowl, and it came piled high with lovely pieces of potato, and an amazing side salad that was bigger than any side salad I've seen in a long time, and very crispy. I had a mac & cheese with barbecue pulled pork burrito! Whoever invented, this is a genius. Mac & cheese was so good with Gouda cheese, the barbecue sauce is excellent. I had forgotten all the details when I ordered it off the menu so I'm a surprise to dig inside with my fork and find french fries and coleslaw. What an added treat.! This also came with a generous side of fruit! Too bad I live 30 minutes north or I'd be eating here a couple times a week probably, but I will make the drive back

Yelp
It was our first time - Great food and atmosphere - helped to be on the waitlist. We will go again

Anonymous A.

Yelp
Food is sub-par, flavorless, and servers and owner are rude. Lamination on table coming off. Feels like a bar not a diner. Don't waste you money. Would give a 0 if I could.
google avatar

Makayla H.

Yelp
Adorable little American cuisine location. Food is great, service is prompt and kind, only issue with the location is that it's a little difficult to find and the parking is weird. Price is fair, especially for the amount of food you get.
google avatar

Kerrie B.

Yelp
Ate here on 4/1/2025 for lunch. Not impressed at all.... A typical greasy spoon type cafe. Won't be back.... Plastic cups is not really my style and not what I want in a restaurant.
google avatar

Rose F.

Yelp
Been here a few times and we love it! The cheese curds are my wife's favorite because of their deliciously seasoned ranch dressing. We both really enjoy their house made chorizo gravy it is amazing with anything and everything. I had the mile marker this last time which has flavorful steak, bacon and Gouda all in one omelette that is then smoked! It's rather upscale for their prices! Don't forget they have a ton of unique drinks from the bar, be careful they're good at making them strong and sweet at the same time. ;-) service is always fast and friendly. This is a great local spot to support our neighbors in the community and get a tasty fair priced brunch.

Belynda G.

Yelp
I am truly gluten intolerant. The owner came out to work in what I could safely eat. The care and service was beyond expectation. The food is phenomenal. If you are in Colorado check this local establishment out. Side note we didn't have drinks but they have a great wine list and beautiful mimosas.

Ashley R.

Yelp
Local table has always been great. The service is a little slow sometimes. The drinks are pretty good.

Bridget G.

Yelp
Absolutely love, the service, the food and the professionalism, from the chef down to the dishwashers. We all know what makes a restaurant great. And it's a very delicate balance to get all of the ingredients, correct i.e. service food, delivery and attention. I have never had a bad experience at The Local Table. The menu is varied and the restaurant itself provides plenty of parking. This is down home cooking Colorado Springs style. I highly recommend.

Diane C.

Yelp
The food was very good! It tasted freshly prepared. We had a burger with great coleslaw, great coffee, excellent eggs, smashed roasted potatoes and juicy ham. Service was great, music was a good mix and not too loud.

Dave F.

Yelp
The patio seating is spaced out comfortably and set up well. The pasta dishes are amazing. We tried the appetizer sampler and a few of the other apps and they were excellent as well.

Jaret S.

Yelp
Wouldn't expect it from the area but this restaurant is amazing. Food quality is great with huge portions. Wait staff is amazing and for a busy brunch crowd having only two waiters and being able to manage and offer friendly service is amazing. Ambiance and music taste, on point. Will be back and highly recommend!

Yelp
Great find today for a late lunch after hiking Cheyenne's Mountain. Incredible food and humongous portions. I had to take half of mine to go, if we return my husband & I will definitely share! Very heavy (obviously considering country fried chicken, chorizo gravy & bacon...) so we left with very full bellies.
google avatar

Unknown W.

Yelp
Very kind staff, food is consistent and reasonable. Kid friendly definitely will return
google avatar

Maria M.

Yelp
Small place , but. it's big on flavor . Never had chorizo gravy but it was really good. The potatoes were real , almost cooked diced . The batter on the chicken and steak was really good. Very light and crispy. What's missing ? A side veggie , like corn, peas, broccoli , would have made this 5 star. Reasonable priced.
google avatar

Anahi G.

Yelp
Great local place to grab brunch or dinner. Went in with a sweet tooth and chose the Bread pudding. It was a little too soggy for me but had great flavor. Went in for the chocolate cake and oh my goodness! Best decision of the day! The cake was moist, had such a good chocolate flavor and just melted in my mouth. You need to try the cake!! Service was super quick and the staff very friendly.

Deborah W.

Yelp
Traveling through the area and found this sweet place. Wonderful food, service and comfortable environment! Ordered the Reuben sandwich with roasted zucchini and tomatoes. Delish!!!
google avatar

Raul G.

Yelp
Wow what a great place for brunch. And it is located literally in our old neighborhood. A 5-star experience across all categories. Food - great breakfast menu. Something for everyone. Service - super friendly and accommodating. Ambience - homey and full of colorado charm. Clearly a neighborhood favorite. We definitely recommend it.

Yelp
We decided to give this restaurant a try on a Saturday night because 3 Margaritas had a line out the door. We drive by this place every single day, and were surprised after watching the remodel to walk in to a large cafeteria-like room. The lights were very bright and you can see everything from every seat. Not a fan of the ambiance. The outdoor seating section is basically on the sidewalk of Fontaine, a very busy road, so we opted for the cafeteria. It would have been a much more pleasant choice for outdoor seating if they had chosen to put it on the opposite side of the building. We were seated quickly, and given the option of table or booth, which was nice. The service wasn't great. The employees were perfectly nice, but being that we could see everything from everywhere, it felt very frustrating to watch them lean/sit and chat with one another while we just waited. And waited. It took a long time for our drink orders to be taken, and even longer to receive them. I don't quite understand if it is how they were trained - a company policy, or if they were just feeling leisurely. But we probably would have bought 2x more drinks if they would have come in a reasonable amount of time. I'm talking 10+ minutes between ordering and our waitress to even begin making them; which would be understandable if she was buzzing around, taking care of other tables. But we were one of maybe 3-4 total parties there, and like I said, lots of sitting/leaning and talking. The menu was great. Everything sounded delicious. Prices were a little steep and it was not ideal that there were no prices whatsoever on the drink menu. Lots of fun cocktails to choose from, but, again, would have been nice to know how much they were. The food was really good. We got the house fries, French drip and a couple of burgers and everything was so tasty. Overall I think this place could be great. If the staff had a little more urgency and excitement about the menu/restaurant, the ambiance and pricing could be overlooked. I cannot stress enough how much more money we would have spent on drinks if they had come more quickly. I probably would not recommend friends to come here, unless it was maybe a lunch when they had plenty of time to wait, or just takeout.

Courtney S.

Yelp
Everything we've ever gotten from here has been absolutely delicious! You really can't go wrong. It's nice to have such good food so close to home.

Robert F.

Yelp
Great food with friendly service. If you're looking for a mom and pop business experience this is the place.
google avatar

Shiloh W.

Yelp
Love, love, LOVE this cute little place. The food and service never disappoint. They are also good for substituting meat for seafood options.
google avatar

Rich S.

Yelp
In the area and stopped in because of Yelp reviews. Pretty simple breakfast/brunch choices. We shared the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs. Good size portion. Gravy was tasty and not overpowering. The breakfast potatoes were big chunks fried crispy. Pretty darn good. Enough of a portion that we shared and were both full. No drinks, 1 shared meal. $20 or so with tip.

Yelp
We live in Pueblo, had to take my father in law to the airport. We wanted to have brunch somewhere on the way. I looked up a few places and The Local Table was one of them. I decided on this place because it has great reviews and food looked great! And I will tell you this place surpassed our expectations! It was incredible. I can't believe it's tucked away in Fountain. The names on the menu of different meals are super funny & the kids loved that. I asked about whether I should get French toast or pancakes. Our very kind waitress asked "which do you usually like" I said Pancakes and she was like "then do the pancakes!" And honestly might have been top 5 best pancakes I've had. They were so good My husband got chicken fried steak with chorizo gravy and he said it was incredible. My daughter got the biscuits and gravy. My father in law got green chile and pork Benedict which he could not stop raving about the whole time. The coffee servings are huge! Loved that part too. My father in law said "how often do you just pick out a restaurant and it's like exceptional?" And I thought, he's right! How many times are we just so unhappy with food at places or the services. The service was outstanding here. You could tell the local fountain people knew they had a great brunch/dinner spot! The atmosphere is very welcoming and comfy. If you're deciding whether or to come in, just go! It's great! thanks guys!

Yelp
Friendly staff. Sat immediately. Cheese balls are yummy. Other food came out quickly and was served hot. The meat in Rueben's was a bit tough and chewy but had good flavor. Kids eat free on Sunday & Monday for dinner. Children's burgers were delicious. The mac n cheese is disappointingly just Kraft Mac and cheese. Their mashed potatoes and gravy are delicious. We'd write home about these. Bathrooms and restaurant was clean. A little over priced for what you get.
google avatar

Adam T.

Yelp
Second time grabbing Sunday brunch. Wife's waffle was delicious and so was my breakfast burrito. Potatoes were crispy and good. The ghost pepper Bloody Mary brought us in and didn't disappoint. Quiet Sunday morning crowd before the lunch rush. Don't sleep on this place.
google avatar

Rolinda D.

Yelp
We stopped here before heading out to Colorado Springs and it was amazing. The food was delicious you could tell it was made fresh. The service was great and the prices were very affordable. I got an omelette with potatoes and my hubby got their Benedict with a pancake and everything tasted great! We plan to visit here again whenever we are back in town.
google avatar

Kirstie M.

Yelp
Food was pretty tasty. The cheese curds were really good. The buttermilk chicken tenders were very good as well. The veggie bowl was good - the Thai sweet sauce was a little spicy for me. The portions were big and the service was excellent.

Yelp
Food was amazing! i always drove by and it didn't seem like the business was good so we never stopped by until today. Great local place with GREAT food. $4 mimosas on weekends, HUGE pankcakes and amazing gouda bbq mac and cheese. Destiny make sure we were taken care of. Cute little business good ambience and kept clean

John C.

Yelp
I went there today for lunch. The place was clean and bright from all the windows. It was my first time , so I asked the waitress what she would recommend! We discussed a little and she said the fish and chips! They were great, but for you cod lovers, this is tilapia! The fries were hot and seasoned well and I really enjoyed the coleslaw!
google avatar

William B.

Yelp
Stop by for dinner and beat the dinner rush on a Friday night. The family was pleased with the food and service. Will definitely return for another meal.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Cute, home-y ambiance. Boyfriend got the Hangover Burrito which was okay, nothing to rave about. I got the French dip and it would've been sooo good except for the fact that they put Dijon mustard in it instead of the garlic aioli mentioned in the ingredient list. I *hate* Dijon mustard so once I hit that point of the sandwich, it was inedible for me :( Pretty upset about it honestly but I still think I'll go back but specifically say no mustard.

Isabella O.

Yelp
Didn't even have a chance to take a photo of the food. It looked amazing and somehow tasted even better. I haven't had such a wonderful experience in a restaurant in a very long time. The prices are incredible!! This restaurant deserves to have lines out the door! If you are in town I definitely recommend having breakfast or brunch if you're in the area.
google avatar

Kate C.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great food and reasonably priced! Everytime we come here we feel welcome with our 2 toddlers. The food is great, the chicken w the chorizo gravy is amazing!
google avatar

Terry T.

Yelp
Good lunch spot in Fountain/Security area. Out of the way but probably the best option in the area. Food was reasonably good and well-priced. The chicken sandwich had a little too much breading for our tastes. Server was adequate.
google avatar

Beth S.

Yelp
We went with a group of 8 (all of us traveling from out of town). Everyone found something they liked. Good prices and service.
google avatar

Mark E. C.

Yelp
Very friendly and kind staff. We have been a few times now and the food has not been disappointing. we would definitely be going back as much as possible. My wife uses a wheelchair. The place is assessable, and they were more than happy to place us at a table that we felt comfortable.

Jack J.

Yelp
What an amazing cheeseburger for lunch! Cooked perfectly and the fries were amazing! Great job!

Yelp
New favorite breakfast/brunch spot. The food is amazing and the staff is prompt and friendly. The inside atmosphere is clean and inviting.

Kevin T.

Yelp
Food was amazing! I had the smash burger it was juicy and delicious. The Bread pudding was awesome.
