The Locavore Variety Store

I absolutely love this store! It’s the perfect place to go for a gift for someone or a treat for yourself. Lots of different price points and I always find something perfect no matter the budget. Excellent for elevated essentials as well and I love their super high quality food and drink supplies that make my every day life a little nicer. The staff are all so friendly and lovely and I love the mission of supporting local businesses all the way down. Great inventory, staff, ethics, and vibe. ❤️

Always a treat to visit this gem of a store. I appreciate that all price points are found here and there are unique pieces that run the gamut from fanciful to utilitarian! I have never left here empty-handed. Some of my favorite finds from The Locavore Variety Store to date are: "Kiss-Off" the best stain remover stick that beats a Tide Stick pen any day of the week, "Linhart" toothpaste, the chicest orange-tubed paste that makes me believe my bathroom has become a spa, and "Spaghetti Dust" to spice up my pasta dishes. Also, the Locavore is my go-to spot for gifting to others, and in the past, I have gotten a NYC-themed tarot deck for my BF who loves Tarot and the city, local seed varieties for my mother-in-law who loves gardening, and wonderful beard oil for my husband. You really can't go wrong at this magical shop!

The loveliest little gift shop! NYC and all cities need a store like this...in a world where "convenience" reigns supreme, this store serves as a reminder that when you shop in person, especially at a place where each item is so thoughtfully sourced, you have a better connection with your product, the place it originated from, and thus more people. A really great variety, and I'm sure there's something for everyone. Please come visit and support! I bought the pack of postcards, but the ingredients there are what I would come for next.

Finally made the trek to NYC from NJ to visit just before the shop’s first birthday. It’s as amazing in person as it appears online. Lots of local goodies being highlighted that could easily be skimmed over or missed in a larger marketplace. Caroline & team do a great job highlighting the little makers that make the retail world so special! Can’t wait to visit again!

excellent curation of items sourced within 100 miles of NYC! i love the mix of high and low so there is something for everyone’s budget. it’s been a great place to learn about local brands and remind me which ones i already buy that are local!

gosh, what a delightful store!! everything about this place is a pleasure. amazing local goods at a variety of price points, $1 pickles and tiny prints, a very fun variety of goods from hats, skincare and fresh pasta to beautiful ceramics and stationary. there’s so much to love here and it’s clear that the owner caroline and her employees pour so much love and care into this store. it’s a must visit, i can’t rec it enough!!

this store had a lot of locally made goods like kitchenware, spices, sauces, etc. they also had some old time candy up front. very nice staff. i liked the spices from brooklyn. i wanna buy one next time :) its a small shop but not too overwhelming with products. i also liked the selfcare area.
