"Adam Handling’s country inn is named in honour of where he met his co-owner chefs: Scotland and Newcastle. The room has a characterful vintage style, and the terrace sits beside raised beds which supply herbs and vegetables for the attractively presented dishes. Among them are re-worked pub classics like a fabulous black pudding and haggis sausage roll, alongside the elegant "King's Trifle" dessert. Complete your visit with a stay in one of the luxuriously appointed bedrooms." - Michelin Inspector
Four Hands Dinner: A Celebration of Hungarian Cuisine
"In May 2021, Adam Handling launched ‘The Loch & The Tyne’: a restaurant and pub with bedrooms in the countryside of Old Windsor." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food and the room was gorgeous! Comfy bed, robes and snacks even a door leading to a lovely terrace balcony.
The best thing was the wonderful staff. So kind and helpful, they truly made it the perfect experience.
Me and my partner loved the taster menu and breakfast, I had the plant based and he had the meat one with the wine pairing.
The pictures are mostly of the plant based menu :)

Adding truffle to some of the dishes on the menu is truly a delightful experience. We are genuinely grateful for the exceptional service we received and the incredible taste that made our meal so memorable. It’s wonderful to know that such care goes into creating these culinary delights.

We came for a special celebration and kindly received a lovely letter on our table from the restaurant!
We were served by a young blonde waitress who was phenomenal. She knew every dish and kindly gave us detailed information and recommendations about each one.
We have been before and the food for roasts was amazing.
Absolutely love that they had an elaborate vegan menu!
The spicy cauliflower was very hot. Wasn’t burnt which could be easily done. As one of their ‘larger’ dishes, it wasn’t that large. Probably should have been listed as a ‘smaller’ dish, as it was just cauliflower and a small sauce underneath.
The vegan Chocolate and Berries pudding was lovely and nice to have as a Vegan dessert. A small criticism; the raspberry sorbet on top was overpowered by the chocolate mouse and as such you couldn’t taste it.
The crab yellow Thai curry was delicious but very very small! Not even a side size.
The chicken roast and lamb were much better sized and lovely.
The vegan Bread with olive tapas and butter chive spread was incredible!

Incredible Sunday lunch. Every single dish was on point. We got the bread with chicken butter, cheese doughnuts, black pudding and apple bon bons, ‘Mother’, the burger, roast chicken and beef wellington. Highly recommend

Discovered here by accident after walking The Long Walk and glad we did. Service really attentive and thoughtful without being overbearing. Food is excellent. Cheese doughnuts something else. Sea bass in a great sauce. Masala Chips crispy with a good level of flavour.

My wife and I stayed over at the pub on the Saturday and had the best time. The negronis were amazing, the food (especially the chilli chicken) was phenomenal and the entire setting and atmosphere was fantastic. Special thanks to the staff for looking after us, especially Megan and James who were brilliant, so welcoming and made the stay so special. We will definitely be back.

Wow what a truly inspiring restaurant! Exquisite food that’s sustainable and zero waste. The restaurant has its own garden where they grow some of their own berries fruits, and vegetables. The manager gave us history of the restaurant, what its pledge is, and what local ingredients went into each of the dishes. Easily catered for our vegan and dairy free friends. Truly tasty and wonderfully presented food. Really a must try!

Delicious roast at a super cute pub 40 min outside of London.
Must try: cheese doughnuts and mother.
The carrot Wellington and hake were delicious as well. Oh and their onion butter for the bread!!
