"Nestled into the mountainside in the quintessential storybook town of Stowe," this alpine ski lodge offers views of Mount Mansfield and Spruce Peak. Rooms in earth tones of rust, orange, sage, and blue have goose-down duvets—"pluses are the fireplace and kitchenettes." Among the amenities are an on-site performing arts center and a kids’ spa for children ages six and up. Solstice supplies a menu "fit for a king"—think handmade ricotta gnocchi and Atlantic diver scallops—while Hourglass has regional microbrews on tap. "The staff are very friendly and accommodating," and the service includes a ski valet—"a great touch." "A fabulous experience from start to finish."

"The Lodge at Spruce Peak makes intelligent use of high-quality local materials, with stone from local quarries and timber from local forests. It’s a year-round resort with golf, a spa, and fly-fishing excursions in addition to the main ski season event. Even outside of ski season, the events calendar is packed, with farmers' markets, film screenings, concerts, fitness classes, farm-to-table dinners, arts and crafts sessions, and guided hikes, along with robust family programming. The (very well-heated) pool is open throughout the year to work off some of the delectable dishes featured at the resort restaurant." - Sophie Friedman

"This posh ski-in, ski-out escape takes the schlep out of winter sports, thanks to its central location at Stowe Mountain Resort—it’s entirely possible to valet your car at check-in and not need to see it again until you leave. Make sure to book a spa appointment, where treatments such as the CBD and cryotherapy massages are a godsend for tired ski legs. The best part? It’s located stumbling distance to the Whistlepig Pavilion, one of Vermont’s most coveted spots for après-ski, now open with private drinking and dining pergolas."

We travel to Stowe regularly, and decided to splurge for what we thought was a "nicer" trip up at the mountain between Christmas and New Year's. Unfortunately the experience at the Lodge does not live up to the price they ask. We had to ask on our third day that our room be cleaned, despite being out for 6+ hours skiing our first day and 4+ hours after breakfast spending time downtown. ||I get that it's a busy week, but the entire resort seemed understaffed. The valet - required, because the surface lots cost more than the valet - did not text the link to request the car other than the first time. This required us to either call or ask for the car when we got to the lobby and then wait 20 minutes for our car. There were 10-15 minute waits to just talk to the shared host stand for the 2 restaurants to let them know you were there for a reservation. The hotel seemed understaffed, and the staff that were there seemed overworked and just as frustrated as we were. ||While the ski-in-ski-out experience with the ski valet is excellent, the lobby is also full of people not staying at the hotel parked while their kids ski, which detracts from any sort of resort feel. You might as well just get up early, put your stuff in one of the base camps, and hang out there. ||For the cost of most of the places downtown, I could chalk up these issues to a busy week, but when the cheapest rooms at the hotel are over $1000, the service needs to be better - that's what you're paying for. Spruce Peak does not come anywhere near the level of service of hotels we've stayed at similar price points. The rooms themselves and the property are beautiful, but the experience does not match.||We decided to head home a day early to relax at home rather than deal with the New Year's Eve crowds, figuring things would only get worse.

The Lodge was amazing. Great location, right on the slopes and plenty of activities available to book. Unfortunately all the activities we booked were cancelled due to the weather being too windy. All staff were so friendly and helpful which made such a positive impact to us in our stay. The room was spacious and beds and pillows were comfortable. The shower was great, pressure and temperatures. We would definitely stay again the next time we come to Stowe!

Last minute trip - booked the day of and super happy! Property is HUGE, it’s a Beautiful Hotel!! Everything was perfect, From the Valet, Checking in to the man who bought up our luggage. As soon as we walked in I was impressed. The lobby is so nice and cozy. Rooms were clean and spacious. Ate dinner at the Alpine Hall, food/ drinks were great- hands down best espresso martini I’ve ever made by Brian! Will definitely be back!

Google
A wonderful weekend resort for a family with kids and a dog. Everywhere was very kid friendly and dog friendly. Food at restaurants were great! Our only complaint would be that our shower head made for fairly uncomfortable shower experiences (not sure if this is the same in all rooms or just our suite) and that our tub did not plug so we had to hold in place physically. Otherwise, our suite was the perfect size/set up for my husband and I, our daughter, and our dog. We will definitely be back- in hopes for a different shower head!

I did not stay here but enjoyed the Lodge Area while my Honey enjoyed the slopes. Fires lit, comfortable chairs, quiet atmosphere. Really n ice place to sit and read. There is also an area they open that sells drinks and such, they also have ice cream with these delightful chocolate sprinkles available - make sure to ask for extra, they are so good. Nicely located kitty corner to the Beanery if you need a coffee or my personal favorite the Chai Latte. All the Staff I interacted with were very nice.

My wife and I are big Disney fans, and we always stay in one-bedroom villas at a deluxe resort. This time, we wanted to try something different, so we drove to Vermont, and this hotel did not disappoint. It felt very premium, with a great location, excellent staff, outstanding service, and delicious food. The pre-arrival concierge was also incredibly helpful. We’ll definitely be adding this to our list of yearly trips!

I recently enjoyed a stay at The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Vermont, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The ease of access to the mountain made skiing incredibly convenient, and the ski valet service was top-notch, handling our equipment with care and efficiency. The rooms were cozy, clean, and provided the perfect retreat after a day on the slopes. On top of that, the on-site dining options were excellent. The Lodge at Spruce Peak is the ideal destination for a luxurious and stress-free mountain getaway!

Google
The hotel is nice and the location is obviously unmatched in relation to Stowe, however you can find much better value elsewhere. We had a very poor experience with attempting to pay to upgrade our room through the front desk, which we were unable to do. (We were being asked to pay more than what the actual value of the new room was, which did not make sense). The staff acknowledged the inconsistency, but could did not offer any resolution, which was very frustrating.

Yelp
I recently stayed at The Lodge at Spruce Peak in Vermont, and it was a fantastic experience. The ambiance and room were absolutely amazing, offering a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The decor was tasteful and the amenities top-notch, making our stay truly enjoyable. The pool was a great feature, providing a refreshing escape with a cool and relaxing atmosphere. However, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the scenic views. The breathtaking landscapes surrounding the lodge added a magical touch to our visit, making it an unforgettable experience. Whether you're looking to relax or explore the beauty of Vermont, The Lodge at Spruce Peak is an excellent choice.

Yelp
This was my first time at this resort & I loved it. The room was clean with plenty of space, the bathroom with separate shower & tub was huge. (Shower products were pretty subpar so absolutely bring your own. Hand soap super drying.) Couch & chairs super comfy, balcony with beautiful view of mountain was unbeatable. Bed was too firm, not comfortable at all, we had trouble sleeping each night. Spa was an amazing experience for me. Opted for the Stowe Cider treatment & it was truly epic. Spa amenities were nice & clean. Separate male & female hot tubs, steam rooms, & saunas. Access to outdoor pool which is also for the rest of pool go-ers so not the most peaceful. Relaxation room with delicious ginger tea & comfy chairs & breathtaking views. Clean & modern treatment room. Amazing masseuse. On premise dining at Alpine Hall was pretty terrible, hence the lack of star. Food was almost inedible. Dessert was GREAT though, maple creme brûlée!!! Huge chocolate layer cake. Included breakfast also at Alpine Hall left a lot to be desired. Whistle Pig was cute to stop in and grab a drink at but the pretzel was so salty it was almost inedible. Stores & waffle stand next to ice skating rink which has a couple little cabanas with fire pits & seating. Great for families. Lift & gazebo right outside the back of the hotel, insanely convenient. Valet staff was amazing & helpful. Snowboard valet messed up the name on my board so there was a small but fixable hiccup. If you drive an EV, they'll charge it for you at no additional fee beyond the daily valet cost. I will note that one side of the lodge seemed a bit more dated than the room we ended up moving into for an upgrade fee. There was also a bit of a language barrier with some of the front desk staff which is partially made up of exchange students that are part of their hospitality major/studies. These students move through each different department within the hotel so we unfortunately experienced a person with limited knowledge which made check in a bit stressful. The language barrier also proved another issue when making spa reservation. Fitness facility is recently re-done as of November 2023. Up-to-date equipment, fantastic treadmills, other equipment, plenty of weight training options, stair machine. The hotel offer classes that you can sign up for as well for an additional fee. One bonus was that you could attend fitness classes for free on the day of your spa services. Cannot wait to go back. Cute town 12 minutes or less away.

Yelp
I attended a conference here and also stayed at the lodge for three nights. My room was comfortable and the bathroom was almost as big as the room itself, complete with a separate bathtub and shower. This property is massive with traditional hotel rooms as well as condo-like properties with small kitchenettes. I loved their text messaging system. I got a text the day before and the morning of arrival to welcome me and ask if there was anything I needed. They used it to also notify me when my room was ready! Complimentary valet parking. Friendly encounters with staff wherever we were. There is a gondola operated by an independent vendor. I think the price was $37/pp. The outdoor pool and spas were full of people even though some of the scattered thunderstorms! The conference is jam packed so unfortunately, could not enjoy any of the facilities.

Yelp
The service, rooms and amenities were topnotch. Lovely rooms and view. The food at The Alpine Hall was mediocre and overpriced and service was very slow. The food at The Tipsy trout was not very good and poor presented. Did not match with the lovliness of hotel.

Yelp
This was our second year staying and once again we had a lovely time. The hotel is beautiful, the valet staff is the best and the woman at check in gave us a better view after we talked about having just moved 2 kids into college. The room was spacious, clean and the temperature control of the room was great. We had a small stocked kitchen that was great for making breakfasts. The bed was king, and while somehow comfy it was hard as a rock. My hips would've preferred it to be softer. The sheets were fantastic, nice and cool just wish the bottom sheet was a fitted sheet and not a plain top sheet used as a fitted sheet. The pool was nice and heated. Just wish there was adults only hot tubs as there were tons of kids in them. We had a couples massage that was lovely. All in all, another great stay!

Yelp
We stayed here the night of the eclipse, so the hotel was crazy packed and busy, yet the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. The room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable and the kitchenette had everything you could need (fridge, microwave, stove, teapot, coffee maker, dishwasher...). The little village behind the lodge has a few cute shops and while small, is nice to walk around. Even though we had to pay exorbitant fees to stay here for that night, it was totally worth it. Their regular rates are a steal! They even had special eclipse events and handed out glasses, although that's probably not helpful to know if you missed it. :) It was convenient having restaurants on site although they were not amazing (on a non eclipse day I'd definitely prefer to venture in to Stowe). My only complaint is the fireplace in our room didn't work, but they made a valiant effort to fix it. Great experience!

Yelp
Stowe by far is my favorite ski destination in New England. This hotel is absolutely amazing. Even if you don't ski, you could just stay and relax. They have a spa that looked lovely. They have outdoor pergolas to rent and relax. Outdoor fireplaces are there. Cute shops with restaurants. Ice skating rink and so much more. Service throughout the hotel is amazing. Lots of friendly employees. Skiing here is a dream! The rooms are spacious and so clean. I can not wait to go back!

Denise Z.

Yelp
We have been going to Stowe for three years now.We love the area so much we've been looking to buy a summer place. We loved staying at this exquisite resort because of the friendliness and breathtaking views.Being a recurring guest they gave us an option of a upgrade or a discount. We decided we only wanted a standard room with two queens because the upgrade was a king and a pullout,my kids didn't want to sleep on. My biggest request was a excellent view.We drove in during the state of emergency flood from Mystic CT. extremely rough drive with the flooding. They gave us the upgraded room and as soon as we saw the pullout bed we asked for a room with two queens and a nice view, well they decided to downgrade us to one of the only rooms with no balcony looking over the parking lot. I was so upset with the fact the night manager saw how incredibly exhausting we were and stuck us in this room. The next day we asked a manager for a room with a balcony explaining what had happened and he showed us a balcony room but the bed had long black hair's on it and when we showed him he didn't care a bit! We asked if they could clean the bedding and got a hesitation we said we'll just stay in the room we have.I also noticed that certain area's of the resort we're not clean, by the door of the Alpine restaurant a beer can for four days of our stay nobody bothered to clean. The other employees are extremely nice but the front desk just didn't care about us as guests and paying customer's!

Dayla K.

Yelp
Stayed here on business! Loved it! Made a note to come back in the winter to play! Every staff member I met was genuinely kind! Two areas of special note: the Ladies at the front desk were phenomenal!!!! Customer service A+!!!! I did Valet Parking and those gentlemen were pure perfection!!! Be sure to use that service; they are TOP NOTCH! Looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Good ski resort with many levels of trails. The Vail brand 'EPIC' pass is honored. Convenient for booking online. Prices have soared over the years as many mention here, but that seems to be the norm these almost 'post-pandemic' days. During the winter months we ski, snowboard, ice skate and hike at Spruce, but prefer to stay in town. Do arrive early, it gets terribly crowded peak ski season. Tip: Rent your gear at AJ's Sports. Personally we prefer to ski out west - Colorado Rockies and California /Nevada's Lake Tahoe regions. However, for a place close to home, Stowe is considered the best of the Northeast region and it is. July 2022: We're here for the Spruce Artisan fair to support locally. Plus kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, summer activities around the Waterbury and Stowe areas. Hopefully things will improve. Time will tell.

Yelp
This Lodge is about 15 minutes from Downtown Stowe. It's on a two lane dark road if you are coming up at night. Just be very careful on this road. The Lodge is beautiful and feels luxurious. There are 2 restaurants inside of the Lodge that's right by the Lobby. The bar is pretty big and spacious. Drink prices are pretty on point with other places in the area. Expect to pay around $20 for a cocktail and about $9-$10 for a beer. The swimming pool area is pretty big and heated during the cold weather. The jacuzzi is a definite place to at when it's cool outside while enjoying a beer. Unfortunately, it closes at 10pm and there are crew members that will kick you out right at 10pm. I wish it was 24 hours like other Hyatt resorts or at least close at 12am. We are on vacation, we shouldn't have to be restricted to such an early closure. The rooms are on the small side if there are 2 beds. The bed was on the firm side, so if that's what you like, then you will love their beds. There's a fireplace that can heat up your room very fast. The bathrooms are pretty big with the toilet being in a separate room. We had a shower and tub in ours, but only 1 sink. I love that it's located in the Village where there are restaurants, coffee shops and shopping right downstairs. During the winter months, they set up an ice rink. This place reminds me of the Village in Mammoth. We were here during off peak time so there wasn't a lot of people around and felt kind of dead. Which I like because we didn't have to deal with crowds or wait times. I just wished we would have stayed her an extra day or two instead of driving back to Boston.

Alison B.

Yelp
Beautiful summer family trip. The staff were attentive and friendly. They had 4th of July activities that were really well thought out and fun for all of us. The food and drink selection was delicious. Gorgeous views all around. We will be back!

Nicholas G.

Yelp
I stayed here a few years back with my wife and was extremely happy. Beautiful views awesome rooms and great food. The staff was amazing and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rob J.

Yelp
Overpriced!! Don't go in the Fall. Almost all the restaurants and shops were closed as they were "between seasons". Despite all the advertising (and room rates) for the property and amenities, we didn't have any of them available to us. Even the heated outdoor pool temperature was turned down during the week. Are you kidding me??!! They comped us a meal at a barely functioning buffet on site. We spent over evenings commuting down to the village for basic meals. For $500+ per night, save yourself a headache and stay elsewhere if you find yourself in Stowe for foliage season. FYI - the "Ridge View" rooms actually face the valet court....headlights and banging metal drainage plate at entrance all night!!

Casey C.

Yelp
I was at Spruce Peak for a wedding over Memorial Day Weekend and it was disappointing from start to finish. We were staying 3 people in a room with a king and a pull out bed. When we got to the room, the pull out bed wasn't made. When we asked if they would make it, the answer was "no." I had to move the heavy modern iron and wood furniture and pull out the bed myself. There weren't any blankets on the bed so I had to call the front desk for blankets and they were annoyed they had to deliver them. It was an odd experience. Then, the next morning the cleaning staff made up the bed and reset the room, meaning the night of the wedding I had to go through the whole process and remake the bed AGAIN. The wedding was not a small one, close to 300 people. Not everyone was staying at the lodge but where was a sizable room block. The staff at as completely unprepared for the amount of people. When I tried to get breakfast at the hotel (not included) they were so overwhelmed at a 20 table diner they were turning away hotel guests. Unfortunately, we were one of the "lucky" ones who got a table, and it took our server 30 minutes to bring the 3 of us waters, but only bothered to bring 2 glasses. I had to wait and extra 15 minutes for a glass. At the hour and fifteen minute mark, I had to give up and accept I wouldn't be getting breakfast. I didn't think it took so long to cook eggs! I had to go get ready for the wedding and couldn't wait any indeterminate amount of time for a $17 plate of mediocre eggs and potatoes that had been sitting under a heat lamp for 30 minutes. The staff was confused. As a former waitress myself back in the day if only I could have been a fly on the wall in this restaurant because the staff was confused, service was inefficient (tables would sit dirty for 20 minutes while they were turning away guests) and groups of staff were standing around talking. The food I was able to eat over the weekend could be described as mediocre at best. A lot of it was served cold. The only reason it doesn't get one star is the location and views are spectacular. Definitely a good consolation prize while I was hungry from lack of food. I think you might have better luck if you come in the winter. They seemed very unprepared for summer service. TLDR: overpriced and underwhelming

Emily H.

Yelp
check-in people barely spoke English. overpriced for what the resort offered. shock and horror at the ridiculous nearly $100 a day BS "resort" fee. overall the place is super dated

Erica R.

Yelp
We have been going to The Lodge for 13 years and got married there 11.5 years ago, when it was still privately owned and at its peak. In total we have stayed 9 times in multiple different rooms/configurations (suites and Front Four properties as well as regular rooms), and our last 2 stays post-Covid have been a major letdown, with our last trip occurring last week. Food: We ate at the newly renovated Alpine Hall for dinner and breakfast. The interior is nice but the tables are crammed together. Fine if the dining room is dead, but if it is full you will be almost shoulder to shoulder with the table next to you and hear every word of their conversation (hopefully it is entertaining). I ordered the almost $40 chicken which was truly inedible. It looked amazing, only adding to my disappointment, with fresh mushrooms and veggies and the chicken seemingly well-cooked, but the saltiness of the dish was so excessive that it burned my mouth. We also ordered the pasta which was unremarkable. For dessert we ordered two profiteroles which came out 100% frozen solid, as if someone forgot to remove the pre-made $13 pastry from the freezer until the absolute last second and they hoped it would magically thaw on the walk from the kitchen to our table. We literally had to use knives to try and cut it, and when that didn't work, we summoned our (very nice and apologetic) waitress who was equally puzzled and kindly removed the frozen blocks from our table and from our bill. Breakfast the next morning was barely edible as well ("overnight oats" that resembled tapioca pudding and was sickeningly sweet). The main takeaway is that there is absolutely zero oversight of the dishes being seasoned or going out, and there is a serious lack of care overall. Also of note regarding food, my kids ordered snow cones from the pool bar. We watched the bartender take the shaved ice and sculpt it in his bare hands (ungloved) before dropping it in a cup and covering it with syrup. Gross. Interior: The Lodge interior, although still lovely, is also "past peak". Some hallway carpets are dirty, the tile/stone floors in the main lobby are worn, scratched and need polishing, and the light fixtures in the hallways are askew. Small details in isolation, but together it makes The Lodge feel tired. We used to covet the bed linens and they are now your run-of-the-mill average Hyatt variety. Down comforters have been replaced with a flimsy blanket, duvet covers are replaced with a thin cover sheet, and the sheets are unremarkable. It all feels cheapened and clear that corners have been cut to save a buck. Overall, we have witnessed a slow decline in service, details, and amenities year after year (despite guest prices increasing) which is disappointing. On the flip side, the location is unbeatable and the overall ski village feel is special and harder to find on the East coast. The premiums you will pay are for this latter aspect. Seriously lower your expectations for ALL food on property (both in the lodge and outside in the coffee shop, pantry, pool bar, etc.) and enjoy the nice views.

Yelp
We enjoyed a lovely fall stay at spruce peak!!! We only had two negatives to our stay so let's start there first bc this is a truly beautiful hotel. Our complaints were the Mountain View room - it's a mountain view but you also get mostly the parking lot, so not the most serene. Also, not all Mountain View rooms have a private balcony- like ours. It was shared so very awkward to use.lastly, it's really dead in the off season but they do well telling you on the website prior! So make sure to read before booking. Now the good! Incredible service! Resort fee includes valet a I wish more places did this! Gorgeous hotel and area. This place would be a true gem in high season

Minty M.

Yelp
Heterotopia if you're youngish, whitish and have children. This monstrosity is a disgrace to the state of Vermont, yet I've been visiting a few times a year for over a decade. I can't quite decide if it's better or worse since Hyatt bought the hotel and Vail bought the mountain. The amount of development, poor land usage, and natural resource mismanagement makes me want to cry in a corner. Did the state and local government all die or give up? This has become a playground for the uber wealthy who complain about their lemon drops and espresso martinis. Whistle Pig pavilion and a members only club? I bet that's a riveting, diverse group sipping their cognac. Screaming children in the pool at 8 am, executives in pink shirts and sports coats in the evening. Workers making $15/hr and driving 45 minutes to each way to work. Can we get more towels to the room? Help me find a golf cart to get the fuck outta here. I will probably never come back.

J B.

Yelp
This review is for Alpine Hall, one of the restaurants on site. It is extremely overpriced. The food was ok, but certainly overpriced! Service was ok, nothing special. It was our anniversary and they knew this from our reservation and they did nothing special.

Brian C.

Yelp
Great place to stay for skiing. Restaurants overpriced. We did have a problem with our room overheating which was never resolved. But the convenience factor is huge.

Eric M.

Yelp
Great vacation. Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly across the board (front desk, bell hops, valet, reservation team, restaurant staff, housekeeping). Food at alpine hall was much better than expected based on reviews. Sure it's not as good as the best restaurants in Stowe but was very good for a convenient in-hotel breakfast/lunch. Lavender lemon martini is killer!

David Q.

Yelp
Amazing location. And even more amazing customer service specifically by the front desk and a lady named Emily. My wife and I came for our baby moon to the hotel and we're treated with exemplary service and smiles and an effort to do whatever she could to make our stay the best, including the room, and every other amenities. Emily was amazing this hotels amazing you should do yourself a favor and stay as many days as possible!

Anastasia W.

Yelp
Incredible service! Perfect location by the gondola and lifts. So far, everyone has been very accommodating.

Dominick D.

Yelp
Don't be fooled by the looks of this hotel. It's the only hotel closest to to stowe mountain surrounded by a desolate old town that shuts down by 8pm. The hotel is immensely understaffed with not so friendly overworked staff around every corner. It's extremely expensive with with no agility to scale during peak seasons. There are only 2 restaurants on premises which are also understaffed and almost impossible to get a seat in, not because they are busy, but because they can't find staff. Vacant tables exist through the evenings because there aren't servers. Some are friendly, most are not and look tired and unpleasantly annoyed at seeing another customer. To add to the stress is the fact that Vail properties, who runs everything outside of the hotel doesn't have the brains to have restaurants that are open during the day, remain open at night to handle the visitors that the hotel restaurants can not. Room service doesn't exist. No matter what you hear, it doesn't. You will starve if you come here. Another annoying thing is that throughout the hotel, it's like 90 degrees. Think about having to walk through the hotel dressed in ski gear. It's a mess and nauseating. What a waste of energy and money. The manager should be fired. We stayed here for 5 days and every day just got more annoying. Not worth the trip to this desolate over priced corner of Vermont.

Spruce Lodge at Stowe Mountain Resort leaves a lot to be desired. The only thing that was done right was the ski and parking valets. We rented a one bedroom suite which was very clean with an adequately equipped kitchen. The bed was like sleeping on a wooden box, only half the lamps were working and there was zero water pressure in the shower or any of the faucets so much so they the faucets in the kitchen wouldn't stay on because there was no pressure to leave them in the up position. We arrived on Sunday and had to call twice by Tuesday to request housekeeping and clean towels. We also requested a mattress topper or something to try and soften the bed. At some point a staff member arrived with a mattress topper and an extra sheet and handed them to me to make the bed myself. The topper only covered half the bed and was not sure what he thought the extra sheet would do. I ended up on the pull out couch for the remaining nights which was actually better than the bed. The restaurant, according to their website offers a buffet breakfast or a small A la carte menu. Not being a fan of buffets there were enough options on the limited menu, the issue was that when we arrived at the hostess desk no one knew what I as talking about and just kept repeating we offer a buffet. I asked for orange juice and was directed to a bunch of bottles filled with Pineapple and Grapefruit juice. I was told they didn't have orange juice yet they had Mimosa's on the menu. When I pushed a waitress to double check she finally went out back and came out with one glass of juice for me and none for my partner. $75 later we left very disappointed. While the staff were all very nice it was apparent they know what the issues are and try to keep a smile on their face Now let's talk about the spa. I booked 2 services ahead of time and have to say the technicians were awesome and did a great job. The spa could use a makeover the carpets and wallpaper needs replacing. It took away from what would have been a great experience. I couldn't help but think about what was growing in the carpets seeing that the wallpaper was peeling off the walls in the massage rooms. With breakfast being a bust we had no intensions of eating dinner at Alpine Hall however with the weather deteriorating one evening we decided to order a Caesar Salad and bread basket to bring to our unit thinking for $22 the salad would be a decent size to share and have with some leftovers we had. What came up was a mixed greens with shaker style Parmesan cheese and stale croutons in a cereal size bowl. At check out I was asked how our stay was. I said we were very disappointed in our accommodations at the price point they charge. I started to tell her what the issues were and she just stared, said I'm sorry and asked if we wanted a printed receipt. This was such a different experience then our last visit to the resort. It is apparent that the money is being put into the Penthouse residences which our being built with the construction waking everyone at the south wing of resort before 7am every day! If Spruce Lodge wants to focus on ownership then please do so and shut down the lodge to visitors who are expecting a great experience spending $500-$1000 per night depending on the day of the week and this is excluding the "resort fees" which is acceptable if the service is there. Yelp
You have to be a little lucky but if the timing is just right... this... place... is... BEAUTIFUL! The picture of the sunset is from our balcony in an VRBO rented "luxury studio". The hot tub outside by the swimming pool was excellent as well. However, be aware that after Columbus Day only a couple of the amenities are open until the ski season begins. We had one restaurant available on the premises. And the other places all were closed.

Yelp
We only had this room booked for one night but we left wishing we had booked it for the whole week. We started off our stay by checking in with Larry at the concierge desk. He is amazing!!! This man needs a raise! He was so friendly and helpful. He made us feel very welcome and got to know us as he checked us in. The room was beautiful. The fireplace is such a nice touch, especially in the cold, early morning. The view is unmatched. We paid for the highest floor and to us it was well worth it. The bathroom is huge & there is a kichtenette in the room. Its not ideal for making huge meals but it came with everything a kitchen should. The fridge did not get very cold and melted our ice cream. The hotel was doing a great job at maintaining COVID guidelines and made us feel very safe.

Yelp
Stayed here for a weekend. This place is superb!!! It has an outdoor swimming pool and a spa. Even though it was in the winter, the outdoor pool and spa were heated. You could enjoy a nice relaxing night after snowboarding/skiing the whole day at Stowe or somewhere else. The resort has an ice skating ring. However, the price was too expensive. The resort has multiple stores around, but they seem to be aimed at high end customers as the brands were not common. The facility are nice. It is huge and well decorated. It has a bar, a restaurant, an equipment check in/out room, etc. It made me think this as a high end ski resort. It also has valet parking. Which costs approx. 23/night. Quite expensive! Car check out experience was a nightmare because it was a mess and we couldn't tell when the car arrived nor they were able to notify us that the car had arrived. Perhaps they should implement buzzers like the ones being used in restaurants to let the car owners that the car is available. The room was superb. It had an artificial fireplace. The room was huge and comfortable. There was a kitchen. They could have provided a bigger fridge as the one available was too small. The bathroom was superb. Definitely, it was a great experience staying at this place!

Yelp
As a native Vermonter who's family has been skiing Stowe for 4 generations it breaks my heart a bit to write this review. I've brought my family and friends for the past two years to The Lodge at Spruce Peak but probably won't return in the future for the following reasons: 1. I was locked inside of the women's changing room near the pool for 20+ minutes. I banged on the door yelling for help but the too-busy clientele didn't bother responding. A friend finally found me and the maintenance team deconstructed the door lock but there was ZERO apology or follow up. As a proud Vermonter, I can tell you that this isn't the genuine hospitality typical of VT. At most hotels, particularly those that bill themselves as "luxury", they would comp your entire stay, or at the very least give you a hotel credit to make up for the panic inducing blunder. 2. The food is obscenely overpriced and not what it should be if it wants to compete with the other AMAZING food throughout Stowe and the BTV region. Save yourself some cash, or spend it on a far tastier meal at Doc Ponds or Hen of the Wood. On the positive side: 1. There were some nice folks working as bell hops and valet. 2. The ski valet is awesome.

Yelp
Over sold. Too many guests. Restaurants losing orders after you wait hours. They are vastly understaffed. Lines everywhere. Price gouging everywhere. Trails crowded. This is what happens when huge corporations run the mountains. Not worth it.

Yelp
We had a great 3 night stay at the Lodge. Due to COVID, all the little shops on property were mainly closed and there is no housekeeping but we still had a nice trip. There is one on site dining open and our room had a nice view of the mountain. We opted for a "Ridgeline Studio". We had a small kitchenette to cook breakfast at and a nice fireplace in the room as well. Bathroom was large and spacious

Yelp
For what you pay at what is classified as a 4 star resort especially during COVID, one should expect cleanliness to be priority. Unfortunately, I found 2 large piles of hair in the shower a disgusting, unforgiving oversight. Completely ruined my stay.

Yelp
Checked in this evening. Went out for dinner came back and went to the bar for a night cap @ 7:45 PM and the maître d' told me and my wife we could not sit at the bar for 20 minutes minimum. There were several empty seats, WTH kind of BS is this. The front desk claimed innocents and said they had no idea what was going on and that the bar should be and is open. Thanks for a ruined night cap.

Yelp
In over 50 years of traveling, I have never been this disappointed in a resort facility. For starters, the bellman took us into an occupied room. After 40 minutes of confusion, we finally settled in another room. Service at the front desk was horrible. Only dry powder creamer for in room coffee. Sliding door to the patio was broken. Iron was filthy and ruined my white shirt. They charge a $ 40/day, resort fee and don't even clean the room daily or remove trash. Makeup mirror didn't work. A total waste of money and vacation time. Stay away!

Yelp
The Lodge is beautiful, and incredibly convenient for skiing the many challenging trails at Stowe. The staff are wonderful, pleasant and attentive to details. Plenty of attention paid to safely enjoying our stay during COVID. My main concern is that it was expensive. During a less busy part of the season, March 18-20, prices for a small king room with a pullout sofa were $400 a night on weeknight and $600 on Friday. Room was small. Restaurant was expensive too. But, the free valet parking and service people make you forget the price

Yelp
Had a fantastic experience here this past weekend for a birthday getaway from Boston. The staff from the front desk to valets and bartenders were all friendly and helpful. Facilities were top notch, we stayed in a studio with a fireplace and a beautiful bathroom with a huge soaking tub. The pool and jacuzzis were great, though pool could have been warmer. The cherry on top was an amazing program where guests can test drive Mercedes vehicles! I myself chose the sporty sedan with some crazy horsepower. Thanks for making my birthday so great Stowe!

Yelp
This is between 2 to 3 stars, depending on price. We went off season in spring and paid about $360 plus resort fees for a studio. I would not recommend paying more. The hotel is beautiful. That is a major pro. The rooms look very pretty on the surface and the bathrooms are nice. You can hear dogs barking in other rooms and the beds are horrible! I have never slept on such a hard bed. It's like sleeping on the floor. The pillows are equally terrible. If you can't sleep, what's the point of a "luxury" hotel? Furniture was worn, with big stains on the couch. Pool is nice, but no pool furniture to sit on in the spring despite it being 85 degrees, and no chairs on the balcony of our room. The pool/hot tub is also overrun with unsupervised kids and did not look very clean, so I do not recommend this place for couples looking for a quiet getaway . For a good price, this is a pretty property, but it could be much better with improved management and some upgrades to beds. Lawrence at the front desk was very friendly and the valet was good. Housekeeping was also good. Food choices are limited at the resort. Personally, I would only recommend this place if you get a great price. It is not worth "in season" prices.

Yelp
Not all ethnic hair is difficult, and not all difficult hair is ethnic. Apparently the Stowe Mountain Lodge doesn't know this. This racist upcharge in the Stowe Mountain Lodge spa menu (see photo) is deliberate, which is beyond frustrating. In 2017, when I first saw it, I immediately went to a manager and whispered "I don't think you realize what this says". He then mansplained to me that "his wife is Colombian, and it takes longer than normal to do her hair". I replied "I'm half black, do you think it takes longer than normal to do my hair? If a pale redhead with super curly and knotty hair comes into the spa, they get charged less than me?" (My hair doesn't take long to do). He admitted that it was poor choice of words and would look into it. But one year later, here we are. It's 2018 and "ethnic" people at the Stowe Mountain Lodge spa get charged more just for the crime of being nonwhite. And apparently the company doesn't see anything wrong with that.

Yelp
Honestly...just not overly impressed. The space is gorgeous, the room was clean and spacious, but for the prices they charge, the amenities and service just didn't match. When we checked in, we were happy to bring our bags up on the luggage cart ourselves but were told we could not and that they would bring it up for us. 40 minutes later, we still had no luggage and called down and were told they would see what they they could do. We went down to just get it ourselves and someone had our stuff in the hallway and asked if it was ours because nobody tagged it. The website lists a lot of amenities, but not many are actually open right now. I tried to book massages online for the spa but every time slot said booked for weeks so that was frustrating. The website says they offer in room dining...they don't. The onsite restaurant does take out, but they won't bring it to the room...which was really fun in the pouring rain. The food at the restaurant was good, but beware, they ask you how much you want to tip for take out and then add 18% on top of that! The hot tub is nice, but the pool really wasn't warm enough to swim for very long. Also, they aren't offering housekeeping service right now, which is fine and understandable during covid, but they are still currently charging a $40 a day resort fee...I'm not sure for what. Overall, the space is beautiful, the rooms are nice, but it is drastically overpriced for what they are offering right now. We might try it again when things are open again to see if it feels different but this trip was pretty underwhelming.

Yelp
This lodge is meant to families with multiple children, no regard for money, and zero desire to leave the immediate area. My boyfriend and I were excited to stay here because it's right on the mountain and had pretty good reviews. The room itself was nice and the ski-valet was convenient, but aside from that, we left severely disappointed. Upon checking in (before even seeing our room) the woman at the front desk offered to upgrade us to a room with a view at a "large discount," this sounded desperate and cheap to us, so we declined. Despite the emptiness of the lodge we were put in a room with paper-thin walls on the first floor next to a family with very loud children; needless to say, falling asleep was difficult. To top it off, nobody told us that you have to pay $23 a night to have your car valeted; which is even more ridiculous when you realize there's no self-park option!!! Do yourself a favor and stay at a B&B or one of the many adorable inns around the mountain instead. You can park right by the gondola and the four-runner lift for free and just ski/snowboard down to your car at the end of the day.

Yelp
I didn't stay at Stowe Mountain Lodge, but I did go to a wedding reception at this hotel. It was a great venue, the hotel striking both inside and out. I loved the grand mountain lodge architecture, which took the cozy style of a ski cabin and blew it up to the scale of a luxury resort. I didn't see the rooms, but I'd be surprised if they weren't nice. The public areas were gorgeous, spotless and airy, with high ceilings and gleaming wood surfaces. The party started in the lobby/bar area, where we deposited our thick winter coats and ordered drinks--I had a few maple old fashioneds, as well as plenty of beer and wine throughout the evening. There was a seated dinner in the adjacent ballroom, an elegant space that easily accommodated the wedding, which must have consisted of at least 200 people. A big band played in front of a wide dance floor. I don't know if the hotel handled the catering, but the food was solid, and the service was on point. I particularly enjoyed the hors d'oeuvres, which were in heavy circulation during the cocktail hour. We had a lovely time at the Stowe Mountain Lodge, and would look into staying here if we come back to Stowe. It's a beautiful hotel, and I suspect an unusually nice place to spend a weekend.

Yelp
So disappointed with my booking experience. I booked a 7 day trip through Orbitz and selected Pat at hotel instead of now. Booked it fine and then I get an email that my stay has been cancelled due to payment issues even though no payment was needed and I spoke with a reservationists after who said they were leaving the reservation in and if there was an issue they would call me. Alas, no call. So disappointed.

Yelp
We absolutely love this place! If you are in the area, it is a must stay!! Ana and the entire front desk staff went out of their way to accommodate the exact room that we wanted. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I stayed here for a weekend Mid- November when my boyfriend for his birthday. It was kind of confusing on how to get to the lobby to check in because the address on the GPS took us to the back side of the resort, and it was later in the evening so it was dark and we had no idea. PROS: Once we found the lobby and got checked in, I loved our room! We had a HUGE bathtub and a fireplace in the room. The beds were comfy and the room was spacious. They have a jacuzzi and a heated pool which was fun, the pavement around the pool was also heated so that made walking into/out of the jacuzzi not too bad! CONS: Room service was cold by the time we got it, we got a breakfast sandwich and an omelette. It was also almost $75 for the both, a little overpriced for a simple breakfast. We also did valet and the next morning after check in, we went into town - and when we got there I made a comment about how much salt was already on the car. When I looked a little closer there was a big scrap on the side of our car, I immediately called the hotel and said when we got back they'd take a look at it. Which was completely brushed off, because we were then told once we left the property they were no longer reliable. Which I understand if it was days later, the drive into town was maybe 5-10 minutes and I called right away. A little frustrating, so not to everyone: make sure you check your car thoroughly before leaving the property. All in all, I liked the resort! The lobby was inviting and the staff (other than valet) were all nice.

Yelp
We stayed here during the summer. The hotel was really accomidating to the covid-19 situation, and was overall really great. The good: The staff was really friendly, the hotel was really nice, the room we got was great and included breakfast. The hotel is in a really nice location for the summer. The hiking spots are within 20 minutes away, the town is 10 minutes, bike path is 10 minutes, and it was really quiet and nice. We really loved the area. The bad: The capacity for the pool was limited due to Covid-19. We got there on Friday and tried to make an 'appointment' for the pool, and it was booked for the whole weekend. Not a single minute could we use the pool facility. We don't have kids, so not the end of the world, but if I had kids I would have been a lot more upset. The dining was also a really bad experience. You made a reservation, and ended up having to wait a long time. 45 minutes one night with a reservation. Not ideal. The Mountain Golf course was also insanely expensive ($250) if you didn't book it when you booked the room. So I went and played Stowe Country Club which was a decent course, but expensive for what you got. I plan on coming back here in the fall / winter. The hiking is excellent, the hotel was really nice, and I liked the community.

Yelp
Save yourself the trip and the $$ spend because service is not their priority! I booked a room and called the hotel beforehand to ensure that the room I am reserving has Mountain view without any blockage I didn't ask to see the tip of the mountain I was very clear with my description. We arrived at 7PM and it was dark however it was the first level and I could not imagine any foliage view that I specifically asked and extra paid for. So I went back to reception and she said that it is was I am asking for the "Mountain view" and that I wouldn't be able to see it due to the darkness, I could not imagine that so I asked to have a different room on the higher floors mind you we just walked into the room and right back to reception. She said it's not possible due to Covid. The hotel maybe had 60% of capacity probably not even that and yet we were not offered a room change. So I waited until the next morning in hopes that she was right. Guess what? I was looking out to the street. This is beyond disappointing considering I paid close to 1K for 2 nights, I should have booked the other hotels in town that are willing and able to accommodate guest requests. We drove 7 hrs just for this specific view.I am from Germany and dreamed about this place since my teenager age and came with so much excitement. Never again! On the other note a 4- star hotel should be able to afford a decent coffee machine in the room. It was he cheapest filter coffee maker that you can get and the coffee tasted that way. Very underwhelmed, seriously this is not worth to pay extra $$. Go to a boutique hotel in town that will actually care about you.

Yelp
Reconsidering visiting this year, it are very disappointed that the level of service has gone down hill. When I pay a valet aka resort fee, I do not expect to have to go out and clean my car off before I have to drive it (see picture). It was not once, it was not twice - it was everytime we had to go anywhere. We noticed that the sports cars were nice and clean (ie. had been parked in the basement), however, anything of size was left covered in 4 inches of snow (ie. had been parked outside). We had issues in the room as well, however, they were immediately taken care of. I like the location, I like the hotel, I like the facilities, however, the lack of service for what we pay is becoming ludicrous.
