How Melrose Hill Became LA’s Hottest Culinary Boom Town - Eater LA

"The Lodge, a contemporary art gallery owned by Alice Lodge and her husband, opened on Western Avenue in 2015, highlighting contemporary art exhibitions like Sexy Xmas VII. Alice Lodge has lived in the neighborhood since 2008 and has seen significant changes over the years." - Kelly Dobkin

Aaamazing, and a grand master resides there, and he is super down to earth, and approachable. It is an amazing experience if you can get him to give you a tour. It should be called the hidden museum.

Yelp
Loved the concert we saw there the other night. My husband is ADA and they were so kind to bring us 2 chairs so he could sit during the concert. Also, can't recommend the restaurant more! Everything we had there was top notch h. Definitely coming back here for the food alone!

Yelp
Small cool art gallery. Dropped by for Aaron Rose's Suitcase City. Outside they had drinks and frenetic dancing by a performer. There is a cluster of other studios and galleries (one is Ed Ruscha's old studio) that you can visit during Open House or if you make appointment. I believe they are all part of Western Ave Collective.

Yelp
The Lodge is located just outside the drifters of Hollywoods main location called Hollywood Boulevard. Unfortunately it's not a housing location but there is art and you can visit the art gallery and assign a time for your own art to be exhibited. Of course there is a three year waiting list at this location so I will look for more locations! I believe the current art exhibit to show coherant visual creatures not humans and so I think this artist might need work in loving man kind or maybe just practice in drawing the human body. I would have to speak with the artist but that was out!The paintings listed are only three of the many available by this unknown artist!

Yelp
Alice Lodge's newly opened gallery is an unexpected hidden gem in the East Hollywood neighborhood. It's in an old school building that reminds me of the film Sunset Blvd. Inside is a welcoming space that is smallish and delicate with lovely architectural details. From what I can tell from the first couple of exhibitions, it's been local Los Angeles artists but with an eclectic taste and aesthetic in mind. I look forward to seeing future exhibitions here!
