"Lower Haight pub/restaurant The Lodge on Haight is currently closed with an Alcohol and Beverage Control notice of suspension on its window at 400 Haight Street. Eater SF has reached out to The Lodge for comment and awaits a response. The business had its type 41 beer and wine license suspended on February 20, not due to a disciplinary action on the part of the ABC, but at the request of the Board of Equalization, which collects California’s taxes and fees for the sale of fuel, alcohol, tobacco, and more. The pub, popular for its mac and cheese, burgers, and beer selection, opened in 2016, replacing former tenant RickyBobby. On its website, The Lodge announced a temporary closure for the first week of February for seismic retrofitting. The note told customers it would reopen on February 7. While the license suspension is essentially indefinite, according to an ABC spokesperson, it could be lifted once matters with the Board of Equalization have been sorted out. Stay tuned for any developments." - Caleb Pershan

Wow, this place was awesome. Stopped in for a burger cooked perfect to order with one of the best buns I've ever had. The green salad was fresh and the bread pudding was absolutely killer. In addition, the staff was super attentive and the music choice was spot on. Great spot to check out if you find yourself on Haight.

Ordered the burger, it was interesting in a good way (Canadian bacon - yum) but The Lodge underdelivered on service. Ordered at the counter while the place was pretty empty, talked to the staff, then waited while multiple customers who ordered after me were served until I flagged their attention. They had left my food on the counter, realized that and then provided a simple apology. I feel like the food could have been good but it was a bit cold and soggy.

Great place, recommended! As a vegetarian, I love their veggie burger and also their vegan sloppy joe. Get the sweet potato fries on the side, yum! It's locally owned and run by a great staff who always make you feel welcome. Give it a try if you're in the neighborhood!

I took my 3 yr old here for brunch. We had a great meal, I had the pancakes and the little had pasta and a sundae. The food was really good and we did not have to wait long for it to arrive. Matt, the owner, was on top of making sure we had everything we needed and was super sweet to my kiddo. The environment was relaxed. A football game was on, but didn’t dominate the vibe, it was projected onto a wall without the sound. Easy to watch and easy to ignore. It’s hard to take a 3 year old anywhere, but we’ll definitely be coming back here to eat!

Great staff, a killer burger, and awesome sweet potato fries. We came in on a Tuesday night at 9:30, 30 minutes before closing, and they took our order and made us a great meal. Many restaurants say they close at 10pm but don't take orders 30 minutes before they close. Thank you Lodge!

Really great place. The burger, with Canadian bacon, pickles, and how it was seasoned all made it a bit salty. However I recommend the spot absolutely. The space is nice, service good, bathroom clean, food and beverage selection solid.

I wish they would bring back the spicy lamb burger. It was the best. This is a comfort food place. Small and cozy. Katherine is the best. Go twice and she'll know your name.

This location has been a few things in the past, an upscale Indian place, then RickyBobby (sad that one closed). Now, The Lodge. We came here for brunch around noon on a Sunday, no wait at all. You get $1 off with a Yelp check in and you order at the register, then snag a seat. My husband ordered the Green chile with the Tortilla and eggs on top. I ordered the Eggs Benedict (supposedly the Canadian Bacon is house cured, not sure it is worth the effort). The potatoes on the side were nicely spiced, but I would have preferred them to be crispy.
