Came for an early birthday dinner. The waitress was very sweet! We were seated immediately on a Friday evening (no long wait ). The location of the restaurant is amazing right downtown. Buffalo chicken dip appetizer 9/10 could have been more spicy Ordered the lamb shank 6/10 the lamb shank was pretty dry as well as the crusted salmon(10/10) The lemon drop I ordered was a 10/10. Would definitely come back here for drinks! Will be back in the future to try something different for maybe lunch!

Google
First time here....had appetizer fried green tomatoes and crab cake, 2 waters, ribeye with Mac n cheese and brussel sprouts and double bone in pork chop with Mac n cheese, strawberry cheesecake. Food was very good! Cheesecake is phenomenal but should be expected because dessert at some of the other local fine dining spots that have the same owner, are also phenomenal! I'm very picky about mac n cheese but this was very good, appropriately cheesy and seasoned well. Pork chop and the sauce was delicious! My husband loved his crab cake and grits appetizer. Our friends really liked their buffalo chicken dip appetizer! The place had a line as soon as they opened at 5pm on Saturday and filled up quick!! Waiter was so nice and made sure everything was just how we wanted it, I wish I remembered his name! Definitely will go back!!

Google
Surf and Turf… was the entree I had . It was a 10/10 with flavor in every bite! The crab cake, macaroni and cheese and even the green beans were delectable ❤️❤️❤️ the filet was tender and a butter knife would have cut it just fine. This entree is served on Saturday only. It was a terrific tower of deliciousness. I highly recommend this meal. Oh, the shrimp were delicious too.

Google
Nestled in uptown Columbus.. the menu isn’t really overly extensive, however there are a few little treats worth trying. The medallions were done well, as was the buff chick dip. An odd assortment of drinks on the menu, but a few were tasty. May come back.

Google
Amazing experience at the loft! I recently had went for my birthday dinner and everything was great all round. Mine and my family's server was Athena. She was very attentive and kind. She knew the menu well and was so patient and understandable seeing as I had never eaten there before. Our food was great as-well! I had gotten a cheeseburger as-well as buffalo chicken dip. I totally recommend the buffalo chicken dip (my favorite)!!! Not to mention it’s a very beautiful restaurant, I will definitely be coming back.

Google
I just wanted to come on here and say me and my boyfriend had an amazing time at the loft. Our server was Athena and she was super friendly, fast and listened to mine and my significant others questions with great care- as this was our first time dining there. We felt very comfortable in the environment and couldn’t ask for better service or food. Athena gave great recommendations for what to order as well, and we appreciated her honesty more than anything!! We would definitely consider retuning again for dinner and definitely asking for Athena again! Not to mention the food came fast and hot!!

Google
Salmon cooked to perfection with lemon butter sauce & capers was delicious along with mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese. Service was great.

Google
Delightful dinner spot for our tennis team at the state playoffs. Great selection and variety of options for everyone. Service was attentive and prompt, and good recommendations. Food was really tasty, well prepared and out to us within a very reasonable time. Prices very reasonable. Only advice, don’t fill up on the chips and dip they bring you. It only gets better. Parking on Sat and Sun is easy and free.

Yelp
We loved this place so much, we went back the next night. Best thing: both waiters were absolutely phenomenal--so attentive & anticipated our every need. Joshua & Walker - great job!! Food was delicious as well. I had the Chicken Wrap- delicious. The next night I had the lamb shank - melt-in-your-mouth tender and sooo flavorful!!!

Yelp
Stopped by for a happy hour. Lemon drop was delicious. Picked up some carrot cake and coconut cake to go. Both cakes were good. Carrot cake portion was massive plenty to share.
google avatar

Briyick S.

Yelp
Service was excellent. The server came multiple times to check on us and refill the drinks. The food was a bit disappointing. The sides were good, nothing special. But the steak came out cold and a bit overly seasoned. There was live music playing upstairs.
google avatar

Jen J.

Yelp
Good location for our 16-person group! The service was great, the drinks were strong, and the food was good.
google avatar

Chip J.

Yelp
The disappointment: The partially deboned Springer Mt. chicken got jettisoned from the menu. EVERYTHING ELSE: Really good. Can't beat those filet medallions. That reduction they slather the steak with is just about as rich and delish as you'll find on the planet. Call me silly, but I am so addicted to the mashed potatoes. And, how can one complain when this dreamy Pisces named Jake brings you food? Crystal clear blue eyes make the whole evening better!

Cindy T.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this one. Food and service are well worth it. Servers definitely know how to care for diners.
google avatar

Yelp
Stuffed fish, creamed corn, and greens were good, but all pretty basic. I'm sure I just ordered the wrong thing, but nevertheless, I expected a little more pizzazz out of something from a restaurant downtown.

Christine

Yelp
ordered take out fish sammy/ceasar & lemon pie. Chef kiss. bun, seasoning & sauce--& fish--were perfect & hefty. lemon pie, well that was next level. bartender who preps to go orders w short hair & genuine smile was sweet as pie!

Yelp
We stopped into the Loft twice on a recent visit to Columbus, both times snagging bar seats. Night one bestie and I came for dinner. I thought it was adorable when I inquired about the Georgia Peach Tea cocktail and our server said "it's really strong" and you have to "like Bourbon" SOLD! Not only do I like Bourbon, I LOVE Bourbon. Préférence is neat but cocktails are lovely too. If you, like me love Bourbon this drink is absolutely not strong at all. What it is, is delish!!! I had the southwest chicken wrap with sweet potato fries and their spicy rémoulade as a dipping sauce. My bestie had a chicken dish. I went for round two on their Georgia Peach Tea and brought my son for a round with me on a separate evening. Staff is friendly and food and drinks come out in a very timely manner. Highly recommend. Make a rezzie if you want to guarantee a table. I'd made one but we came at a different time both days as we were just doing our own thing so I released the table Saturday so we could just sit at the bar. Nice spot! Go for the George Dickel ;)

Yelp
I was looking forward to dinner at the Loft, but was pretty disappointed. Nice atmosphere and good service, but the food was mediocre at best. I had the salmon and it was very fishy tasting, the spnich was cold and had no flavor. The mash potatoes were good. Overpriced for sure! I would pass.
google avatar

Yelp
Second time here, second celebration. Both times I've gotten the salmon with spinach and, y'all, it is amazing! The lemon butter sauce is fantastic on the blackened salmon (which is perfectly cooked @ medium), and keeps the spinach from making your teeth feel mineral-y. The coconut cake is also amazing - drinks are well-made, love the ambience and the service is stellar. We have been very happy to have reservations - it gets crowded on weekends!

Michelle A.

Yelp
The pork chop meal is so delicious. I get it every single time I go there the service is great and staff very kind. I enjoyed myself'l'!

Yelp
Went here for dinner Tuesday evening. The place is packed inside, and they had no tables, so we chose to eat outside on the sidewalk tables. We started with the smoked queso and tortilla chips appetizer. This was sooo good!! For entrees, I had the fillet medallions with sides of green beans and mashed potatoes and my wife had the Cajun seafood pasta. Medallions were cooked perfectly, except they were way over-seasoned. My wife really enjoyed the Cajun seafood pasta. Got a slice of the Icebox cake to-go and it was total Yum!

Yelp
Perfect spot to stop and eat in downtown Columbus. Cute piano stairs that you walk up going into the restaurant. Service was really good and we packed for nothing! Had to send back the spicy chicken sandwich as it was a salty attack on taste buds according to my husband and that's saying a lot because he loves salt. Changed it out for a wrap which he said was pretty good. The truffled tater tots were AMAZING. Highly recommend those. I had the pork chop and grits which was really good as well but also a little on the salty side...but still good. Fun place! Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Fabulous food. Great drinks. Excellent service!!!! Highly recommend. We booked reservations in advance for a party of 7.

Yelp
Very good food & nice atmosphere. Trendy area of town. Lots of restaurants & bars. We had cuban wrap & southwestern salad with shrimp.

Yelp
Great place to check out a comedy show and grab some dinner or drinks. Their food is delicious and their cocktail menu has something for everyone's palette

Yelp
I walked in with no reservation on a weeknight. I sat upstairs and the bar staff was very nice to me. The lighting in this place is very nice and makes for a great atmosphere to dine in. Most importantly, my filet mignon was cooked perfectly at medium. Along with the mashed potatoes and green beans it was a savory experience with the perfect amount seasoning and buttery texture. The cheesecake went back to my hotel with me and I had it for breakfast. Wow! Large slice, amazing home cooked texture and tasted wonderful! Even without the strawberries! Highly recommend if you want an amazing steak in Columbus!

Yelp
Wow!! Super glad we were able to get a last-minute reservation. Our server, Colin? Connor? Sorry, I'm terrible with names, was absolutely amazing! My glass of tea remained full, his recommendation for the unstuffed chicken was spot on. The unstuffed chicken was absolutely delicious, the mashed potatoes were probably the best mashed potatoes. I've had in my entire life in a restaurant, seriously. The restaurant is quiet enough that you can have a full-blown conversation without screaming at each other. The menu was clearly marked with gluten-free items, and they had more than enough for me to choose from. The people that eat gluten at my table, enjoyed similar dishes - but also enjoyed the biggest slice, actually slab, of carrot cake. That carrot cake looks like it would feed an army of 20, obviously was homemade, and made me wish that I were not required to be gluten-free. Overall, this is an amazing restaurant and I can't wait to be in town again so that I can enjoy the deliciousness that they offer

Yelp
I truly enjoyed the Cajun pasta that served to us by Tamia. Absolutely great meal, drinks and professionalism in the enjoyment of the evening.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our dinner at The Loft. Our server, Andrea took great care of us. The Caesar was delicious! Lite dressing shaved Parmesan. We shared a pork chop and 2 burgers. The pork chop with grits and green beans. The pork was tender, beans cooked to perfection and that was my first time having grits. Dessert we took home was strawberry cake-my favorite, coconut cake and cheesecake. They were very nice to us despite us walking in 20 mins before closing time. Andrea was kind enough to recommend a few other places to visit. Thank you the Loft.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our dinner at The Loft. Brittani and Pam were attentive and pleasant. Food was excellent, not too salty. I had the sautéed spinach, green beans, and sweet potatoes fries. Hubby had the the pork chop with grits. It was cooked to perfection. The made-in-house potato chips with French onion dip was amazing. The ambience was casual and energetic. The manager came to table asking us how we liked the food. We really appreciate an establishment that cares.

Yelp
Everything went well. The atmosphere is far better than I expected from the street view. Very well done. Our server was the right degree of friendly, knowledgeable, & seemed to be enjoying his job. ( that makes a difference) The food was delicious ( I had the Salmon) . And the prices were in line for today's economy. ( $63 for two without alcohol). We will be back.

Jack K.

Yelp
Have been going here since I first joined the army. Great place, food and guest shows.

Yelp
We flew into Atlanta and drove down to Columbus where we were staying. We were on California time and ready for dinner, but we arrived at the restaurant at 9:30pm (half an hour before closing). That always stresses me out because I'm sure they all want to get out of there. However, they were all wonderful (even though we were the last ones to leave). Brittany was our server and she was totally delightful and never pushed us to hurry up. She was awesome! 5/5 - 16oz Ribeye: Wonderful seasoning on this! Cooked perfectly. The mushrooms were fine, but they didn't elevate the steak. The mac'n'cheese was just okay. The perfect score was for the steak. I would just get different sides. 5/5 - Complimentary Chips and Dip: This was the greatest! Homemade potato chips with french onion dip. Seriously addictive and enough to feed a crowd. If I lived nearby, this would bring me back in over and over again! 4/5 - Grilled Filet Medallions: With a red wine-mushroom demi and 2 sides. 4/5 - Strawberry Cake: very sweet 4/5 - Mama Kay's Cheesecake: delicious 3/5 - Georgia Peach Tea: a refreshing bourbon cocktail 3/5 - Pimento Cheese Burger 1/5 - Banana Fosters Bread Pudding: The bananas were hard (probably not ripe). The food came out to 3.4 stars but the service and chips and dip have me rounding up to 4 stars.

Yelp
I've only eaten here once and would love to eat here again, the food was pretty good. The service wasn't the best... We sat upstairs since the downstairs was full, which was perfectly ok and there was no wait! It is a very cool looking place. Our server greeted us right away but took a long time to return, I always try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt-- I've waitressed before and I understand that we all get busy. I wish I was exaggerating but our waters took 15 mins and some of the guys in our group didn't get their beers till after our food came. We probably should've just grabbed those for ourselves at the bar top. The other thing was the waitress asked how I wanted my burger cooked and I said medium well and it came out medium rare. It didn't stop me from eating it, it was still great and I couldn't really ask her to have it cooked longer because she hardly came by-- only mentioning this because I know how picky some people are! It could've been a misunderstanding too. Last negative: I know how much of a pain it is to do separate checks, our party had 6 and some of us paid together to avoid too much of a hassle, but once we got our checks they were all out of sorts and unorganized (wrong items, too many items charged or none charged at all) Overall, I would return and give it another shot because my burger was good-- just a lil undercooked. I got the one with Pimento cheese and my husband got the Chili burger and he loved it. Another great plus to this place is the comedy club on Thursday nights and live music on Friday and Saturday nights! We saw Cigarette Girl last night and it was awesome.

Sherry C.

Yelp
Food is very pricey for the quality. Will not go back to eat there. Service was good. Atmosphere was good

Yelp
Delicious! The Loft has been one of our favorite date night spots over the years. We love their dinner menu options, specials each night, and the options to go upstairs for entertainment after a great meal. We have never had anything we do not like and service has always been on point. The unstuffed chicken we always order because it never disappoints. The desserts are also heavily layered and fantastic. We always leave with one to go if we are too full to eat in the restaurant. Overall, The Loft is a Columbus staple. If you are new here or just visiting this should be one of your top spots to try.

Yelp
Everything . Management, waitstaff, prices, security, handicapped access...Et Al.. They over serve children and do nothing when they are falling down drunk.
google avatar

Danielle E.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place and I will definitely be back. The Mongolian beef was very tender and seasoned very well. The eggrolls had the perfect crisp and the sweet chili sauce was a nice touch. The staff were very nice and welcoming. The ambiance was a bit busy but not overwhelming. Decor was super cute and the tap was was super cute.
google avatar

Yelp
The Loft actually turned out to be a great place for my belated birthday dinner. In fact, several other tables seemed to be celebrating birthdays as well. It's definitely a causal atmosphere, but the food makes it feel a little more high end. I had the pork chops and substituted the grits for mashed potatoes and everything was soooo good. I cleaned my plate! My brother-in-law enjoyed the jerk chicken and said it definitely had a kick! He ordered a side of the soulful Mac and cheese and it was surprisingly super good, although I can't say it looked that way. My sister enjoyed her shrimp tacos and my husband had the shrimp salad! We had the hush puppies and truffle tots for appetizers which the table enjoyed. The hush puppies especially. There is an adjoining upstairs space with a bar and stage area. There was a $5 cover but it was graciously waived since we dined at the restaurant. I don't think that's standard practice but it definitely should be.

Yelp
Was recommended by friends we were visiting. Sat at the bar for dinner, the food and the service were both phenomenal
google avatar

Yelp
I made a reservation for a Saturday at 5 pm (opening) and it was packed to even get in the door! Clearly a popular place. They sat our party of 8 easily, and Ellie G. did an awesome job taking care of all aspects of our experience there! Would absolutely return. Food was incredible! Recommendations include: Apps: Smoked Queso, Buffalo Chicken Dip (ask for retailer chips and not pita- wasn't impressed with that) Main: Unstuffed Chicken, pork medallions, bacon burger Sides: Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, cheese grits, green beans

Michelle E.

Yelp

Yelp
Outstanding service and delicious food. Highly recommend the unstuffed chicken. This restaurant also features live music.

Yelp
My company recently held a retirement celebration party upstairs in the Green Room. We had an open bar with appetizers and dinner. The event was perfect! The room was spacious for the number of people in attendance, it was clean, smelled great and the food was delicious! The staff - specifically Rachel and the other two bartenders (sorry, I've forgotten their names) were fantastic! They allowed me early access to the space so that I could go over table placement, specialty cocktail suggestions, use of their A/V system, etc. If you are looking for an affordable place for your next meeting, party, event, etc. Look no further than The Loft. You will NOT be disappointed!
google avatar

Kevin Culp ..

Yelp
Had a meal with chain of command here and the food was very good. Service was great and it is a cool place to dine as it's smack dab in the middle of downtown by CSU. Worth the trip.

Yelp
I was in town for work looking for a decent meal and stumbled across this gem on Yelp. Checked out the menu which wasn't particularly impressive (just wasn't in the mood for American food) but I stopped in anyways because of the solid reviews and them being in business for 25 years (support local businesses)! So... Here I was sitting at the bar looking over the menu and not being excited about anything. So I asked the bartender what he recommended and he said "the pork chop". I Replied "sold". Next thing I know my chops are blown off by the sweet and breaded flavors, pun intended. This was the best damn pork chop I ever tasted. And the white cheddar grits complimented the dish perfectly. This is a must try entrée, sorry little piggy's but a wolfs gotta eat!
google avatar

Noemi A.

Yelp
Definitely place for dinner. We had reservations and were a little early but quickly seated. My son had the ribeye steak medium rare and he said it was good a little too much seasoning for him. Came with Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. I ordered their 3 Cajun shrimp tacos from the starter menu. They were good as is but a little sweet for me. Asked for the habanero mango ranch definitely gave it a kick. The black widow margarita was perfect. Service was great very super nice lady and glad I asked for her recommendations. My husband the Cajun pasta with shrimp was outstanding! Must go great ambiance and location!
google avatar

Alexandra C.

Yelp
I recently came here for my birthday, and I got to say it's some of the best food I've ever experienced. The steak was cooked to perfection, the macaroni and cheese was by far the best I've had in a good while and everyone enjoyed their meals. If I could afford it I'd come back here every day.
google avatar

Theresa R.

Yelp
Delicious food and tasty peach bourbon. Ambiance and friendly service was really nice too.
google avatar

Yelp
Very good food good service food comes out hot very pleased Very nice atmosphere as well. Prices for your meal or reasonable of ate there several times
google avatar

Nancy S.

Yelp
Purely based on the coconut cake. It's $12 a slice, but it's better than the fanciest restaurant coconut cake I've had. Nothing compares to my Grandma's cake, but this is GOOD. Next time we might try the dinner menu.
google avatar

Marshall W.

Yelp
My wife and I have been going to the loft for 15 years. Might be our favorite restaurant in town. Meals we like: Our favorite has always been the pork chop, mac'n cheese, and brussels. We also love the unstuffed chicken and (filet) steak tips. We have always loved the Thai shrimp tacos as an appetizer. Beyond there food, the staff really care about the folks they serve and will go out of there way to make sure their guests are satisfied and properly taken care of.
google avatar

Shayne S.

Yelp
We chose to sit outside & it was a nice environment enjoying other people walking around and eating. Our waiter was kind and knowledgeable (forgot his name sorry). The food was DELICIOUS I literally scrapped my plate after I was done. The grouper was cooked perfectly and still juicy, the sauce paired well. The Mac and cheese was cheesy goodness & I should've ordered more because one order just wasn't enough. The vegetable quinoa was really good and flavorful and I'd get it again.
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
It was okayyy. It was a really cute area. I got the goat cheeseburger. The bottom bun was completely soggy and I would've done for more goat cheese and blueberry BBQ. Sweet potato fries were good! My husband got the seafood pasta and he loved it! So I guess you just have to know what to order?

Mishia P.

Yelp
I love the the loft! the food is always good! the service is great! 10/10 definitely check this place out.

Yelp
Going against the grain here in this review, and it just may be the standard fare here in Columbus, but as a first timer here, I'm less than impressed... I'll provide the rationale below: 1. The restaurant opened at 5pm, I called at 5:12pm to make a reservation, only to be informed that they do not take reservations and instead they do a call aheads. I was receptive to this option and the receptionist informed me that I didn't need to put my name on the call ahead list since they had just opened and had plenty of seats available. We arrived at 5:21pm, to a booming, completely packed restaurant with a 45 min wait!!! I explained I had just called, showed them my phone with the number I had called and what I had been told. I was told that they filled up quickly and there was just one party in front of us. So we could wait and would be seated shortly. 2. It's now 6:24pm as I'm writing this review and we have yet to be seated. However, another party of four that came in maybe 10 min ago has already been seated due to them knowing one of the servers. How rude and privileged of an experience for these individuals. 3. The call ahead wait list is just a complete fail. About 7-10 other parties came in behind us with the same "I called ahead and put my name on the list" story, only to be told some excuse as to why they'd have to wait over an hour to be seated. 4. Ultimately, we decided to just sit at the bar and get a sandwich and some dip. This review has nothing to do with the quality of the food since the customer experience of our first hour and a half here has been deplorable. Based on this experience, I wouldn't recommend coming, calling, or even trying your luck with eating here, because at best you will be just as frustrated and hungry as we are.
