Overall the food is tasty, generous portion sizes and the service is good. The king crab legs were perfection, but expect to pay for it. Loved the goat cheese fritters. We ordered the creme brûlée, but it didn't have enough caramelized sugar on top. Very nice looking interior, although it lost some of the charm of the old waterfront crabhouse.

Good seafood selection and good raw bar. They also have a good selection of stacks on the menu but no one of my party tried any, next time and there will be a next time. I love shell seafood of all types. The oysters were very good raw and Rockefeller. The other seafood dishes we order was full of flavor and fresh. Not too price even better. Make a reservation or be prepare to wait lone.

I have been eating at the WCH for more years than I want to admit. The food has always been good and whether I have gone with my wife or with a group of friends, the service has been better than adequate. The selection of food goes beyond seafood and I have gone here just for the steak or chops. As I read some of the other reviews, I have come to the conclusion that most people are just idiots and that reflects back on how they are treated. If you act like an ass, please expect to be treated as such. I bet if you give this place a shot, you will not be disappointed.

Went there for my Birthday and both my husband and I were disappointed. We ordered the $50 seafood tower that comes with "half of a lobster", it is supposed to feed 2 to 3 people. The lobster came with no meat at all. Just a shell! I tried to complain and they were rude. Small portions for such an expensive price. Food was salty. And there isn't a waterfront! Its 3 blocks down. Absolutely was a scam! Save your money.

I seriously don't know who can rate this place higher than two stars. Since it is in my neighbourhood I tried it three times and every single time I would go there, I would remember how I disliked it the time before. This place is for tourists, no self respecting New Yorker would enjoy it. The prices are insane, don't even go there if you are not willing to spend $50-$70 per person and it is going to be veeeeeery mediocre. I can cook a better meal for $10. I was excited for this place to open since I am a huge seafood fan, but it turned out to be a dissapointment. Service, however, was good all three times.

Should of listen to the reviews. My husband and I went there for dinner and we were very disappointed. we ordered the calamari they were so small and the dipping sauce was tasteless. For our main course we ordered Seafood Fra Diavolo the mussels were the smallest I've ever seen the 3 shrimp were over cooked so dry we couldn't eat them. The sauce was thin tasteless and horrible. I ask for mild I got blah. The waiter Jose was great until we told we weren't happy with the food. Than he ignored us. The best was when we first got there I told him about the bad reviews and we would give it a try. He said don't worry we have a new chief from France and the food is much better he lied. To top it off our groupon expired and we had to paid the full price. I didn't know the groupons expire. Cross the Crabhouse off our list will never go there again .

So many memories at this place and the food is comfort-nomenal! My faves dishes are: - Fried calamari - The Best (and maybe biggest) Burger on the East Coast - The Pecan Tart + Ice Cream (although I think they retired this one :-( - The self-service bathtub full of peanuts This place is an historical icon with many local and well-known celebs having put their John Hancock on local memorabilia. It's my fave stop when showing out-of-towners a glimpse of the real NYC.
