Best Places in Bangkok and Phuket for a Sundowner

"Bangkok definitely looks it’s best from high up, and The Loft at the Waldorf Astoria is here to prove so. Although the only spot on this list isn’t outdoors, the glitzy 56th-floor bar with floor-to-ceiling windows still does a good sunset justice. You’ll bask in extreme views of the city with bustling Siam Square below and a partial view of the Chao Phraya River and Wat Phu Khao Thong (The Golden Mount) in the distance, all of which is even more impressive as the sun peaks away behind the horizon. Looks and views aside, it’s bartender Michele Montauti, who steals the show with tipples based off The Old Waldorf Astoria Bar Book, written in 1935. Find a seat at the window and sip on The Waldorf, which mixes Michter’s Bourbon with Thai basil, Mancino sweet vermouth, chocolate bitters, coriander and maple, as the sprawling capital gets cast in shades of orange." - Veronica Inveen

Second time visiting the Waldorf in Bangkok. Their bar never disappoints. Cocktails were just delicious and their bar tenders are super friendly. Be sure to check their special cocktail menu and their vast selection of wines. The view from the bar was unique because there was thunderstorm in the city so it was haunting but beautiful. A must.

Great bar on 56th floor. We can see the great view of the area. Original plan was to have 1 cocktail then move to try other bar in the area but we have changed our mind to continue drinking here after 1st drink. • The cocktails were so delicious and perfect, smooth, balanced The choices are so interesting. We have tried to special (seasonal) menu. They are amazing, interesting. • Staffs are friendly and so skilled with the cocktails. As we went on Monday night, it was not busy (just the right atmosphere) so staffs were able to talk to us too, explaining about their cocktails, history. • Price : reasonable price, good value for money, you pay higher price but you get the good quality of products. • Atmosphere: Visiting on Monday is the good because it is not busy. The bar has the great decorations. Highly recommended for this bar.

The Loft truly exceeded expectations! From the moment we arrived, the staff's exceptionally friendly and attentive service made us feel right at home. The cocktails are a standout – unique, delicious, incredibly easy to drink, and deceptively potent (in the best way possible, of course!🥴🍸) The DJ perfectly curated the vibe with an excellent music selection that complemented the sophisticated atmosphere. And let's not forget the breathtaking Bangkok views from the 56th floor – absolutely stunning. This is definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable night out!

The best rooftop bar for me is The Loft that you can have very private rooftop bar here that you can enjoy with friends or lover. Cocktail here is really nice and service is very good. H honors member can get discount 25% 👍🏻👍🏻 View is very nice and you can see bangkok in 360c. And also very nice sunset here in center of bangkok but the Loft only have Indoor bar only

One of the most impressive bars I’ve ever visited! The venue itself is stunning, located on the 56th floor with breathtaking panoramic views of the city—especially magical at sunset. The drinks were excellent, both in taste and presentation. You can really tell the bartenders put thought and creativity into every glass. The overall atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between laid-back and sophisticated. But what truly stood out was the service—absolutely top-notch. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making the entire evening feel special from start to finish.

Different angle view of Bangkok The Loft is located on the top floor of the Waldorf Astoria. The staff are very polite and aggressive. Bartender provides some free wine testing and studies with us that is a unique and fun experience. This is an elegant room for dating couples.

Hip, casual bar with fantastic views of the city center. The cocktails were great (the Grand Prix was delicious) as was the smoked duck ravioli. Friendly and fast service.
