"It’s hard not to like this handsome Bath stone pub, set opposite a medieval church in a sleepy village. It’s a family run affair with the chef-owner proudly preparing a mix of pub classics and few more modern creations. Be sure to try the home-smoked meats and fish and the delicious homemade ice creams." - Michelin Inspector

Stunning!. I cannot fault The Longs Arms. Sublime cooking , beautiful thoughtful clever and TASTY dishes. World class front of house. Overall - the best pub I have ever eaten in ….and the steak and kidney pie ( pub grub ) was off the scale. Just enjoyed a lunch today, breaking up a 20 mile walk, of oysters, salt cod croquettes and monkfish ceviche. Wonderful. Bravo to all at The Longs Arms

Best food in the area without a doubt! Our second visit - and just as amazing, if not better than our first. Even the burger is impeccable and so well balanced. Lovely staff as ever too. Cannot recommend enough!

We have eaten here many times either as a couple or with our family including grandchildren Food is always excellent as is the welcome. It is our favorite place to eat as every dish is delicious . It is worth booking especially at busy times as this is a very popular place.

The food at The Longs Arms is pretty good. Dishes are well seasoned, tasty and nicely presented. I would say however that the portions are quite small and in my opinion, over-priced for what you get. The wine list and cocktail menu is decent though. I have had to give only 3 stars overall as the service marred the experience. We arrived a little earlier than our booked time so we thought it would be a great opportunity to get a pre-dinner drink. On arriving at the bar we felt most unwelcome. We asked if we could order a drink and the woman behind the bar looked at us as if we were asking her to cut off her arm or something. There then followed a strange, stilted conversation where we were trying to ascertain whether we could order a cocktail. When we finally got a drink menu from her she disappeared and left us standing there for 15 minutes. Even when she returned we had to ask her if we could place our order. We then asked if we could have our drink at the table we had booked. She basically told us where it was and left us to find said table ourselves. We waited a further 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. Some time later we were ready to order our food. A member of the waiting staff took our order but when we dared to ask her to leave the wine menu with us, she rolled her eyes. It felt very much as if both the barwoman and the waitress saw us as an imposition. It should be said however that there was a much more polite young man who served drinks later in the evening. The food was delivered fairly promptly and as I mentioned earlier it was decent - a good job really as no one at any point came to check whether we needed anything. After the meal we ordered coffees and cocktails to finish off - we waited half an hour for these to arrive. Such a shame that the Longs Arms has all the makings of a lovely village gastro pub but alas the service staff would need significant training to meet the standards of what one would expect with the prices being charged.

Went to this local restaurant with family. The mains were nice and had good portions. Starters however were expensive ( £20 for 6 langoustines) which has been very obviously defrosted as still a little icey. They need more staffing for the number of covers. We had to ask 3 times to just place our order and was told the manager would be over to take the order. Our starters came out over an hour after we had been sat down after chasing them. No nibbles or bread offered either. Staff were polite and working hard, but maybe just need more of them.
