A Food Fan Handbook for the Great Northern and Winter Carnival | Eater Twin Cities

"I visited the Loppet in Uptown where a pop-up beer garden from the area’s largest indie brewery offers beer alongside snacks from local food trucks; entry is free while beer and food cost extra." - Joy Summers

One of my absolute favorite twin cities non profits. Their mission in general is to get more kids active in the outdoors. The luminary loppet is an excellent event every year, in spite of how much our weather has impacted it recently.

A great place for community to come together. I enjoyed the Senior Social and a walk along the paths through the woods. Friendly, helpful staff in a lovely setting.

It is simply ridiculous that they offer no refunds or other compensation for rescheduling their events. Many of us were planning to go to the 2023 Luminary Loppet but it was rescheduled later to 2/18 when our group already planned a trip to Mexico. We get an e-mail that stated they have a no refund policy, they’re sorry, and we could have our tickets transferred. I am beyond disappointed that the only answer is, “well it’s our policy, so you’ll have to figure it out yourself.” We loved the Luminary Loppet and plan to go every year. But if this is the service the foundation treats their donors and customers, I have no interest in supporting it or recommending others support it for the future. Thanks but no thanks.

I really want to like the Loppet Foundation but every interaction I have trying to learn to ski, to get trail information and most recently to join a run group has been not great. It’s like an elitist club that doesn’t want to share information with new comers. The run group promised “no runner left behind” and yet the 12 minute milers were, well, left behind. How many times do I try before I realize they just don’t want us newbies there? I did purchase annual Loppet Foundation membership. Have to really think about that next year…

Has 3 main trail loops. If you like downhills you would like this place, but be prepared to climb. Trails are flow, not technical. Family friendly, have youth camp events during the summer. Nearly everyone here has good trail etiquette in comparison to Elm Creek single track.

Change the time of one of their events last minute and would not offer refunds. I wonder if they realize that people don't have an unlimited free schedule with complete flexibility. Very disappointed. Have utilized their classes and races multiple times but will not be doing it again.

Really bad public relations idea to screw people over with an event cancelation regardless of policy look at people individual situations . They are making double the money now on one event and refusing to refund or extend tix for next year . Unbelievable .

Their new building is amazing. It is almost fully operational. As far as I can tell, you can rent everything. They are still working on a cafe, but everything else is open. The trails we're open fast and they are nice to ski on.
