Great coffee and great food. Staff is friendly and service is quick and prompt. If you are in this area definitely try the place out. Quality there and service is there. Place is very clean and modern. Definitely worth trying. I had a breakfast burrito and it was fresh and delicious. Almond milk vanilla latte was perfect. Give it a try!

This place has good coffee, but so do many other coffee shops in OC. However, I like this place for 3 reasons: 1) Michelle is the best. When I’m getting coffee I feel like I’m catching up with a friend, not just ordering from a barista. 2) they brew organic coffee and have gluten free pastry options - which is a bonus from a health standpoint. 3) it’s inside the Mess Hall @ FLIGHT (an upscale food court), so there’s always plenty of seating, and good spots for lunch.

Google
The Mess Hall is a wonderful location...plenty of very comfortable seating, both indoor and outdoor, with top-notch lavatories and plenty of parking. The Lost Bean found within is the cornerstone, featuring a spacious, open feeling. It is bright and clean and all food & beverage options are readily observable. The service has always been friendly and knowledgeable, from Shawn-of-the-Dead (no longer with that location) to the ever-gregarious Michelle. My slightly complex orders have always been made with craft and care, brewed and presented to perfection. Even on those rare occasions when being slammed by a line, the crew attitude stays calm and helpful. Patience pays as the end result is worth the wait. Finding the Lost Bean is definitely worth the search. I highly recommend this location above all others.

Great coffee shop! Coffee is excellent, fresh and Organic. I especially love the nitro cold brew. The outdoor seating is perfect when the weather’s nice. Always greeted with a warm friendly welcome by my Baristas, Michelle and Lily. Ive been to the other Lost Bean locations which are nice but I come to Flight because the amazing customer service!

Came for the coffee, stayed for the service! Michelle is so sweet and always willing to edit up fancy orders. My coworkers and I head over all the time inside of the Mess Hall to grab some coffee, sit and do some work, and even grab a light bite (gluten free options too!) I’ve been ordering dirty chais and they are the bestttt

Coffélier ..

Yelp
INTRO: I am the worlds first Coffélier™ (pron: Coffee--lee-a). Think sommelier but for coffee. I've been severely addicted since I was 12 when my dad offered me a black drip coffee and I've never looked back. Considering my coffee palate has been in development for quite a bit longer than most, I consider myself reliable to review coffee. One thing is always true though, I never review stores with more than 100 locations. At that point, that would be as futile as reviewing every McDonalds, not worth your or my time. We know what we are getting with those stores. COFFEE: As my intro suggested, I am a fan of black coffee. I nearly always order an Americano, which for the uninitiated, is merely an espresso shot with hot water, or if it is iced, then an espresso shot with cold water and ice. That being said, if your preference is to drown your coffee in sweeteners and cream, this coffee will pair nicely. My Americano was surprisingly sweet for black coffee, the roast I would desribe as medium/dark, not nearly as sharp or as pungent as a starbucks Americano would be, but overall, a lovely UNIQUE roast, unique being used in a GOOD way. CUPS: My Americano was served in a plastic "sippy" cup, straws were available, I was NOT asked if it was for-here or to-go. My personal preference is to be served in glass/ceramic/something not plastic, but alas, this cup was of good quality and up to normal standard. ATMOSPHERE: A bit tired, but lovely none-the-less. The interior could use some love, but i've seen worse and I've seen much better. For a coffee shop that has not been remodeled or redecorated for 5 years, it is in fairly good condition. Tables are clean, staff is extremely friendly, not very crowded (I am here at 11:30am on a thursday - 4/18/24) PRICE: My Americano was $4.25, which is right on the money for SoCal and is about what I have paid all week. I usually pay cash and leave the 75 cents in the tip jar, which is enough to make the staff smile usually, but not enough for me to expect more than regular service. PARKING: Abysmal. Some of the worst in Tustin. If you can, walk, but if you cannot, I recommend parking by the bank of the back of the complex where there are NO parking TIME limitations. OVERALL: I've been coming to the lost bean for more than 10 years so I may have a biased opinion, but in reality, there is a reason I have been coming to this coffee shop for over 10 years, it is one of the best in Tustin. Hands down. Only other direct competitor is Tru Bru. FULL DISClOSURE: I am friends with the parents of the owners of the Lost Bean, and I have met the owners as well. Being born and raised in Tustin, I know a lot of the locals, and I feel I must acknowledge this. That being said, I do feel my review is unbiased and no different from any other review I would conduct, but in the interest of full-transparency, I feel I must disclose these facts. Thank you for reading my review! Subscribe for me! (Is that even an option on yelp? Lol Idk X)

Yelp
We came here for Aloha All Ways Tustin Island Fair and was needing of some coffee bad!! It's in the Mess Hall surrounded by some offices. The mess hall itself looks almost like a food court, fancy food court I guess. The vibe of the place is really cool and the outside seating area overlooks a park. I'm a plain Jane and order my coffee black. Their iced coffee is tasty and has a nice pick me up. Also grabbed a chocolate donut, a bit on the small side but that was also tasty. Overall, a nice experience with friendly staff.

Brenda P.

Yelp
This is now my favorite go-to for iced lattes. The service is always exceptional for me here. Friendly smiles is how you win my money over. Olivia and Sydney are a great time. Both are always positive and up beat. They deal with my nonsense special custom order and don't ever give me a hard time either lol. The coffee they use is pretty distinct and I can definitely taste two shots worth in my 16oz latte always. Plenty of seating inside and out. Most people park at the park lot due to the new parking lot rules that are in the lot right next to the mess hall. Less hassle in my opinion.

Lena T.

Yelp
This place is located inside Mess Hall. This place has a lot of parking and is validated for 2 hours. There are many seating options insides and outside. It is very nice for you and your friends to talk. The lost bean has many popular coffee options. Their matcha refresher was very light. If you are a big fan of sweet then I would suggest to add extra sweeteners. Even though I had syrup it was still similar to a 6/10 sweetness level at other places. I would like to see more unique drinks as there was not too many drinks that stood out to me.

Joy K.

Yelp
I love their coffee! This one is in Mass hall market, so grab a meal and coffee at the same time and enjoy.

Yelp
Maybe you care what I say, maybe you don't Coffee desire strong enough, matter it won't Located in the Mess Hall Market space Eatery and bar, collective, cool place! Menu, options beyond the need SF vanilla latte with almond milk, great indeed Size, flavor, iced/hot, standard, or specialty Your palate, your choice, decision not for me Go, make the venture your own Chat with the cashier/barista, seating plenty for friends/family (un)known I definitely will be back for a pre-work morning trip Always seeking out a comforting coffee to sip Parking, fear not Hopefully you have a positive "lost" experience, not forgot Okay, I've influenced you enough A just try it, decision not tough xo - Op

Yelp
My go to ppace for then liquid of life! Michelle is the shiz! She remembers my drink by heart and nails it every single time. If you are in the area and need a quick pick me up definitely swing by. You will not be disappointed

Yelp
The coffee, tea, breakfast food, and the quiche is all delicious. This is the type of care where the barista can call you by your first name because they really know your type of drink.

Patrick C.

Yelp
Great tasting coffee. My first yesterday as I was working near by. So glad that I went here coffee had an amazing flavor to it. I also got banana bread another winner. Customer service was also amazing

Justine Y.

Yelp
Got a matcha latte and price was fair, minimal wait and great customer service! Definitely a place worth trying if you're in the area, on the hunt for coffee, and looking for a cool spot to hang out.

Yelp
I've tried two other locations aside from this one located inside the Mess Hall at the Flight complex and just can't quite get into their style of java. I ordered a vanilla latte and also got one of the chocolate chip cookies in their small display case. You can't just have a coffee without an accompaniment, right? Like the other locations, I couldn't detect a vanilla flavor. And the coffee just has a flavor I don't enjoy as much as other places. Is it the beans? Or do they slightly burn them while roasting? I'm just not sure and my coffee palate is not sophisticated enough to pinpoint why it doesn't please me. The cookie was fresh and soft with plenty of chocolate chips. It's obvious from other reviews that The Lost Bean brews coffee that a lot of people love. For me it's just A-OK.

Bill W.

Yelp
I come to Lost Bean every day on my break. I came in for an Americano last year (very tasty) but come back every day because of how friendly and nice my barista Michelle is. Michelle always greets me with a smile and checks on how my day is going. Sometimes I vent a little too much but she always listens. Never had a regular coffee spot til here. Thank you Michelle for the wonderful service.

Nate M.

Yelp
Doesn't have the same vibe as a normal Lost Bean location, but the coffee and the food is still up to par. This stand or kiosk takes over a full comer in the Mess Hall in Tustin. It's has all the Lost Bean coffee staples; cold brew, lattes, and so on. They do have food but it's pretty limited. Mostly just pastries and pre-made quiches and sandwich wraps. This a great place to sip some coffee, get some work done or have an impromptu meeting. There's also plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. Need that caffeine boost and don't want to wait in-line. The Lost Bean in the Tustin Mess Hall will get you in and out and on our way.

Yelp
TOP SERVICE ! My wife and I came to the Mess Hall to grab some lunch on Wednesday. We had been taking care of business in Irvine and this place was just 15 minutes away. Finding a spot on their parking lot was not a problem. It was pretty quiet when we ambled in just before 1.30pm....the lunch time rush was over. After ordering some food at The Little Greek ( first time ) when our first choice The Sandwich Society was already closed ( what's up ! ) I headed over here to order a couple of lattes. A friendly happy soul named Michelle gave me a big smile and took my order for 2 x double shot Lattes with 2% milk & Monin hazelnut syrup. I was more than pleased that paper cups were not the only option....I hand picked 2 white porcelain mugs which were the perfect size for 2 shots. This was another first time visit...we came here for lunch over 2 years ago soon after the Mess Hall first opened for business....during covid but did not need coffees. Michelle the cashier / barista delivered the goods...our creamy double shot lattes with latte art tasted very good. THANK YOU !

Hayley E.

Yelp
I drove 15 minutes out of my way to go to this place so I could get an organic drink. Turns out they don't have any organic milk, dairy or non dairy. Talk about false advertising. Yikes. I ended up leaving. It's too bad because it's a super beautiful environment outside. I hope that they can get their advertising in line by either changing their name or, doing what's right for the environment, and serving organic products.

Yelp
I love everything about this coffee shop. Not only do they have coffee and tea, they also serve acai bowls and healthy juice drinks. I ordered the green goddess 16 oz. Which is $6.50. And of course, it has all the green goodies you would expect: kale, green apple, grapefruit, and pineapple. I would drink this everyday I could. I also think everything is organic. Another positive for the health conscious person like myself. Pesticides cause cancer y'all, just sayin'. I fully appreciate the quality their ingredients here.

Christina S.

Yelp
i used to come here on the weekends before the pandemic but since they are closed on the weekends, i make it a point to come during the week. it is nice and quiet during the week. I really like the flat white and the cortado. They have a good ratio of milk to espresso and the espresso is so tasty! I get it with no sugar and it is pretty strong but the barista recommends a little bit of vanilla to sweeten it if you prefer that. Come support! you will love it!

Angela C.

Yelp
I love The Lost Bean, and am glad to see them thriving with three locations in Irvine/Tustin now. This one is located in the Mess Hall. I ordered the Nitro Cold Brew, and I was a little hesitant because I never tried it before, but the sweet girl said not to worry because if I didn't like it, she'd make me any other drink of my choice. Great service! I ended up really liking it, but appreciated the gesture. It's different than what I can make at home and so refreshing for a hot day. They also have green juices and açaí bowls, and other non-caffeinated options here for those who aren't in the coffee mood.

Robert P.

Yelp
pre-covid 19 nonsense Find your coffee at The Lost! For those who know coffee, you will find a safe and high quality product here. -1* because they sell whole bean but not much variety. For those who know only Starbucks, you will find what you need here, but don't claim that syrupy goo you get at Charbucks is coffee. #notevenclose For me, "the usual" is a double shot of espresso in a ceramic cup, which I consumer Italian style--fast, and standing up, along with a small black to go. No funny business. Lost is a respectable and steady brand for coffee and a great addition to The Mess Hall. I always look forward to my after-lunch treat here! Hope they are there when all this job killing nonsense is over.

Archie S.

Yelp
The Lost Bean is a really good addition to the Mess Hall in Tustin. It seems like there are a few more locations now, but they do have some really good roast, and cold brew. Their menu seems a little different here compared to the one in Old Town Tustin. This cafe is set in a food court like setting, when you get to order and pick up your item, and sit in the public area. You do have the option to have non dairy creamers for your drinks here so no need to panic. The service is good, and their drinks are even better. Try their specialty brew and their espresso drinks as you'll never go wrong with those.

Gerardo P.

Yelp
This place is great. The location is fantastic. Customer service was great, everyone was in a great mood, so that always helps the experience be a little better. I went during lunch hour rush so it was a little wait specially because there was one person making the drinks. I got the vanilla latte, and an açaí bowl. The apple berry bowl I would recommend 10/10. I totally tasted the apples in there. I also got a vanilla latte. The vanilla latte was the reason I gave it a 4/5 star rating. It was ok. Not bad but also not incredible. It was a little water down. They used crushed ice which I'm a fan off, but they melted faster so it tasted a little watery. They use straw-less lids #savetheturtles Overall a great place!! And great service!!

Mike S.

Yelp
What a great hidden spot to enjoy the morning, and some great coffee! I will not go back to Starbucks after tasting the difference!

Vanessa R.

Yelp
Great spot to grab a GOOD, quality latte and get some work done in the laptop w WiFi available. I got the La Paz and the lemon blueberry scone. Love it!

Mike H.

Yelp
Located inside the new mess hall market Tustin. We tried the better than bulletproof coffee and Iced La Paz. Both drinks were made-to-order quickly and tasted superb.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Love this coffee shop! It's very cute and spacious too. It's a great place to get a coffee and catch up with a friend. Love their outdoor seating

Matt H.

Yelp
I frequently pop in here after lunch at Flight to have a little coffee and extend the break away from work. They have a good menu and make a nice cup of coffee. The folks are friendly and there is never a long wait.

Andy C.

Yelp
Awesome oatmilk latte. Love the flight development and outside terrace. Will be coming back for sure

Jen K.

Yelp
This Lost bean is located in the new Mess Hall Market at the Flight. They have most of the general Lost Bean menu items. No Panda Bear or Hazelnut syrup. The baked goods will be forthcoming. I ordered the La Paz, and it was a bit water downed and not much flavor as they do when I go to the Tustin and Costa Mesa one locations. The irony was when I was waiting for my drink I stated that Lost Bean makes better coffee than Starbucks and to find out later my drink tastes weak. Perhaps they are still in soft opening mode. Hopefully it improves. FYI if you use google maps, it may have you go on streets that aren't officially open to the public. There is parking but it looks like in the future you may need a ticket or get it validated as there are machines but for now the gate is up for the Flight.

Kimberly S.

Yelp
The Lost Bean Coffee shop is one of my favorite coffee shops in the OC. All their locations are great, the staff is awesome and their recipes have great espresso to milk ratios that taste delicious. My go to at the lost bean-is a black cup of coffee, flat white, and if you want something on the sweeter side I definitely recommend a vanilla latte, la paz or caramel macchiato with oat milk. They have a lot of milk varieties as well. For food at this location-The peanut butter açaí bowl is fantastic if you want a good little meal.

Tina K.

Yelp
Pleasant barista who had great customer service skills despite being busy and on her own. Ordered a lavender latte that was pretty strong. There is plenty of outdoor seating as well.

Mary H.

Yelp
Not. A. Fan. It takes a lot for me to not at least give a benefit of the doubt to a coffee shop but this place isn't great. From the moment I walked up the employees were gossiping with one another about something and didn't stop to wait on me, they just kept chatting. Then, once finally inconvenienced enough by my presence to come take my order, I realized how overpriced it was too. I ordered a caramel latte and from the first sip it was tasteless and a total waste of money. Wish I had just skipped the whole experience.

Daniel H.

Yelp
The service here is fast and efficient. My friends and I were led to a table as soon as we arrived there and once we ordered, our food was given to us a few minutes later. Overall, the food here is phenomenal and I would definitely recommend the California omelette. The Lost Bean genuinely caught my attention and i will be eating here again.

Yurie H.

Yelp
Variety of drinks here are great~ They have all kinds of lattes, coffee, tea, and seasonal ones. Located in the mess hall, building is in a soon to be business structure, a bit difficult to find. Parking is free for now since it's still in pre-development. There's plenty of seating along with few eateries, so great place to study/grab a bite. I got the cold brew with oatmilk and my mom got the chai latte. I had higher expectations for the cold brew since it was voted for best of OC Weekly 2019, but it was pretty similar to cold brews I've had in the past. Tried some of my moms chai latte and like how it wasn't too sweet. They don't make their flavored drinks overly sweet, which I appreciate since a lot of chain coffee shops make their drinks wayy to sweet. Price is pretty standard, ranging from $3-$5 depending on the drink. Would definately recommend coming here if you are looking for a quiet spot to spend the day.

Adam D.

Yelp
Not even a little bit interesting. You can get better coffee just about anywhere. Boring, flavorless, and completely lacking in distinction.

Skoops C.

Yelp
So close to office to grab good coffe & juice or a bowl. And for lunch inside The Mess Hall all kinds of foodie places! Coming back for lunch!

Jinda J.

Yelp
I have only been to this location 2 times since they opened in the Mess Hall, but I want to give a 5 star to thank the owners for opening this third location much closer to my house!! I was driving to the North Tustin location almost every morning and now don't have to backtrack since the location on Flight is within a bike ride from my house!! In addition to my satisfaction with the new location, I am consistently satisfied with the quality of the drinks and food. The breakfast burritos, muffins, avocado toast, dream bars, etc...can't go wrong! Just need to try the quiches now!

Linh G.

Yelp
To all my tea lovers- White peach tea is amazing! The fact that the tea is organic makes me so happy!! It's nice to know I'm not drinking tea with pesticide residue in it. Great place to work and study!

Monica A.

Yelp
Stopped by yesterday and loved that they had gluten free bakery items. Will return.

Isaac P.

Yelp
Great selection and great coffee. I bought their nitro cold brew and it's pretty good to say the least. Not the best nitro I've had but pretty decent. When I go to coffee shops this is one of the first things I look for on the menu. Although expensive, it's well worth a try if you're used to just getting iced coffee. This place is a great place to get started. In terms of STUDYING: not a great place to be. Absolutely no outlets and it's loud. That's attributed to all the other small stores around you. If you're looking for a place to meet up with a couple friends or grab a bite to eat this is the place you're looking for. Otherwise if you're looking for somewhere quiet, try somewhere else.

Fara G.

Yelp
Great vibes and place to grab a coffee with friends. The interior is gorgeous as well as the new plaza. 10/10 recommend

Adibeh A.

Yelp
The employees are really rude and give off such bad vibes the guy wouldn't stop looking me up and down I don't recommend this place at all !! I wanted to support a small business instead of going to Starbucks

Nicole H.

Yelp
Best coffee ever! Kari is always so welcoming and professional. She had my drink down and memorized after only two visits. I always look forward to not only getting coffee, but being greeted by her!!

Chase S.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee shops and this new location did not disappoint. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for good vibes, service, and a great cup of coffee. I usually prefer just black coffee but their bullet proof & la Paz drinks are really good too! The shop is located in a mess hall with other food spots too which has has an open airy and hipster vibe. Check it out!

Kevin M.

Yelp
Great spot with very friendly people. The coffee and breakfast are delicious too. Love the relaxed atmosphere.
