"Ambler-born barbecue spot the Lucky Well specializes in Memphis-style barbecued meats and sides like cornbread, potato salad, and dry-rub fries. To satisfy urban appetites, the local chain also boasts a location on Spring Garden Street." - Eater Staff, Caroline Coral

Awesome cocktails! All of the staff was very friendly and on top of things. We just stopped in for drinks- they have a great tap list and an extensive whiskey list. We went with cocktails- a Tequila Siesta & a prickly pear martini- delicious! Our bartender customized a drink for us based on what we like- will definitely be back!

We visited the Lucky Well to celebrate my brother’s birthday. He has been there a bunch of times and loves the bbq wings here. We had a reservation and there was no wait time. We were taken to a back room and seated. I liked the decor and the layout of the restaurant. The ambiance was good but I feel like it was a little dark in the restaurant. I ordered a drink to get started. I asked the waitress for a recommendation since I like Heineken but they didn’t have it on the menu. She recommended a couple beers and I tried the Sterling Pig which was good. I ordered The Sandwich with bbq pulled pork and a side of baked beans. My wife ordered the same, my one brother ordered the pulled chicken sandwich. My brother whose birthday it was ordered the wings (he loves the wings here). My sister in law ordered the bbq bowl. Overall I thought the sandwich was good. I wish it was a little bigger. The bread was soft and bbq sauce was tangy. Overall really good. The baked beans had some pulled pork in them. I will say the baked beans had some heat to them. I’m not sure if they are using jalapeños in the baked beans but it would have been good to know on the menu. I can’t eat a lot of spicy food due to a medical condition. Luckily, I noticed quickly and I stopped eating them. I gave the beans to my brother to take home as leftovers. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dinner. The recommendations I have are to make it a little brighter in the restaurant. It might also be good to indicate if a dish is spicy to help patrons navigate the menu.

My girlfriend and I have been meaning to try The Lucky Well for some time. Head Chef Chad Rosenthal recently Beat Bobby Flay on the Food Network show with the same name so there has been much local buzz about this place. Although it has been a staple on Bulter Ave in Ambler for white some time, it is certainly harder to get in than it used to be. With that said, I was pleasantly surprised to see the continued local vibes that exist here. We stopped in during restaurant week and they offered a fixed price menu fro $39 that offered generous portions of menu items and few seasonal specials. To start, you could either pick a Cucumber Gazpacho or Corn and Tomato Salad (unfortunately, I did not grab photos of these) but they were both really good. The Gazpacho was unique but the tomato salad was better. We also got an order of their fried green tomatoes. The main course is a selection of their barbecue (we got a mix) and served with a huge piece of cornbread and a side (we all got Mac and cheese or collard greens). This is where the problems started however, because we were served four meals for a different table. Chad came over himself and told us to take a few things off these plates while they remade our food and was very apologetic. That said, our order was still not entirely correct when it comeback but it was nice for them to accommodate us. They also gave us a free round of drinks to compensate. The barbecue was perfect though, I don't know that I have had better pulled pork or bbq wings in Pennsylvania. They were out of the restaurant week desserts so we got Watermelon and Pineapple gelato and a huge piece of peanut butter pie (that was likewise amazing). I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was the Saturday of a restaurant week and they were just overwhelmed. But I can't give them 5 stars after the issues and shear amount of time spent at the restaurant. The food definitely gets the highest marks though. Definitely stop here if you are craving barbecue.

Awesome combination of a BBQ place and a cocktail bar. The brisket tastes great and reminds me of some that I got in Austin. I also enjoyed the old fashioned that I had with dinner

Surely I have found a hidden gem in Ambler. The food, you have 5 stars but, I would give you that and 2 diamonds. Not pictured here are the appetizers, I had the shrimp and Hubby had the stuffed publano with sausage and rice. Amazing!!!!! The staff was adorable very accommodating and fast. The young lady said today was her first day but she was the shining star her service was the best part of the meal. Everything came out on time and hot. Love you. WONDERFUL 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 🥇🥇🥇🥇

The food was excellent. I can't wait to go back! The drinks, the appetizers and the service were top notch! The atmosphere was great too. Family friendly environment. There's live music on Fridays and Saturdays, we have to get back for that too. Go take your family, impress your first date with their menu that boast many options in a small or large plate. Definitely has made my top 10 local restaurants

Any review less than 5 stars doesn’t know what they are talking about. This is hands down the best meal I’ve had in a long time. I lived in Arkansas for several years and had my fair share of authentic bbq through Texas, Kansas, etc…the lucky well could go toe to toe. The smoked wings and ribs melt in your mouth. Warm corn bread with homemade honey butter. The fried tomatoes!!! Everything from the atmosphere, to the live band, the incredible service (who have those machines that allow you to pay at the table), I am smitten. This will be a go to. Get your date night plans together!

10/10! Food, service, and atmosphere. Friendly and efficient customer service. Warm and fun atmosphere with live music! Food was absolutely delicious. We’re very picky when it comes to dining out and thinking we had a meal worth while but The Lucky Well was fantastic and definitely was worth the little wait for a table. Highly recommend and can’t wait to dine again!
