We had a lovely and seamless experience at the MacPherson House! The house is gorgeous, inside and out, and beautifully restored and maintained. The beds and bedding (a pet peeve of mine!) were first rate! We were comfy, and cozy, and slept well. The sit down repast prepared by jasmine was first rate and more than we expected! Thank you for accommodating our gluten free preferences. We will come again anytime we are in Fayetteville!

We have been fortunate enough to stay at the MacPherson House three times during our trips from Amelia Island, FL back to the Washington, DC area. Each time our stay has been amazing. We are always welcomed with homemade chocolate chip cookies! We always depart with an amazing breakfast! (If you are there on a day that the fried apples are served you are lucky travelers indeed - although any breakfast is delicious!) Try and arrive early so that you can visit the US Army Airborne and Special Operations Museum nearby before check in. The restaurant recommendations made by the property owners are spot-on! We have had wonderful dinners at several places - all within walking distance. It is true that the house is on a busy street and there is some traffic noise - but it dies down early. It is also true that the trains run through Fayettville, but for us we are normally so darn tired we don't even hear them. (The proprietors do provide ear plugs and each room has a 'white noise' machine - but we haven't had to use either!) We will most certainly be back!

I was traveling down I-95 on a long road trip and looked up local places to stay, The MacPherson House came up, and I am so happy I got to stay. I booked direct, and had immediate access to check-in; the rooms were spacious; the bathroom had all natural amenities; and the property was close to downtown to stop and enjoy a meal. They also displayed their history and pointed to other local businesses in their community as soon as you walk into the lobby. The beds were so comfy and I enjoyed having coffee and cookies around the clock. Definitely stay here if you are looking to support a great local business!

Look no further for a clean, cozy, and beautiful inn to stay at. We rented all of the rooms and the cottage, so it was private & very peaceful for our event. We didn’t hear the trains at night because a sound machine is provided in every room. This was actually a huge attraction for our toddler & brought us so much joy. We loved being able to walk around downtown too. Additionally, there are treats galore and a home cooked breakfast (delicious!). Cant wait to stay here again!

This small and friendly heritage-style property is particularly convenient for Amtrak passengers, as it is within (uphill) walking distance of the train station, the historic area, the (very interesting) Airborne and Special Operations Museum and downtown. It also has parking. ||Our room was nicely furnished, with a comfortable bed – but the mattress cover was too big, so the bedsheet did not stay smooth overnight. No housekeeping service was provided, as we were only staying for two nights. There is no elevator. ||We liked the fact that complimentary hot drinks and snacks were available at all times, and enjoyed the freshly cooked breakfast included in the room rate.

We stayed at the McPherson House as a half-way point between Clearwater, FL and Philadelphia on our way home from Spring Training. The location was convenient off of Route 95 in a charming town. The home was beautifully decorated and immaculately maintained. Our room was spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was amazing. Much better than staying at a chain hotel. We would definitely stay again in the future.

The MacPherson House was a great base for us to explore the revolutionary history of Fayetteville and the Moore’s Creek Battlefield. Convenient to downtown, easy to access the parking and steps away from the History Museum of the Cape Fear. Using a code rather than a key was so easy. There was coffee and tea and cookies available any time one wanted some. We stayed in the Lafayette room and the king size bed was comfortable. Goods lamps made it easy to read. I love staying in historic homes and this one suited me. We could start our day with a tasty breakfast and each day we had yogurt, fruit, either egg casserole or waffles depending on the day. Prepared by friendly staff. If I ever return to Fayetteville, I would return to the MacPherson House, too.

wanted to surprise my husband for his 65th birthday with a little romantic getaway! The MacPherson House did not disappoint! It was so beautiful! It was spotless and the bed was so comfortable. Our room was The Lookout and it did not disappoint! Mary went above and beyond to make our stay special. In the morning we had Jasmine fix us a wonderful breakfast! She was so sweet and thoughtful! I can’t say enough about this gem that we have here in Fayetteville. We can’t wait to stay again. Check it out! You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
I can highly recommend the Dogwood room, although this one has no TV and I could see that being a problem for some. I did hear other guests say the sound of traffic or the train kept them up at night, but I heard nothing in the Dogwood. The entire inn is so gorgeous and charming, very clean and well kept, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. It was all topped off with a lovely plated breakfast in the morning. The coffee and snack bars around the house are such a nice touch too. It was honestly the best stay I've ever had at any inn or hotel.

Yelp
A little expensive for the area, but lovely room (except for the shower, which was a bit cramped), very peaceful, very easy stay. The bed was also great!

Yelp
Great experience for a weekend. Katy and Michael are great hosts. The location is nice also within walking distance of one of the most revitalized parts of Fayetteville.

Yelp
Our home away from home, stayed here several times and always will visiting Fayetteville! Truly historic, authentic, beautiful 1 of a kind B&B and impeccably clean throughout! Historic downtown Fayetteville's right there, an easy, short walk! Brochures, maps in lobby/foyer (restaurants, things to do). Recommend booking "directly" (we just call) it's faster, best prices! Owners (Katy & Michael) are exceptional, treat you like family and are always available via text or phone. Our preference is a "king bed", all rooms have king and the quality and comfort is phenomenal! 2 covered porches (front and back) we enjoy with beautiful NC weather. Historic downtown Fayetteville's an easy short walk, the B&B's literally on the edge of it. We've stayed in the Dogwood and the Campbellton rooms and look forward to staying in the others (got to see them after check-out!). Highly recommend staying in any room!
