My best friend and I needed a little getaway from the busy holiday season. We stayed at a bed and breakfast together for the first time, the MacPherson House in Fayetteville.
It was such a memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the owner, and Santa! Fun fact: he’s the Santa for the Fayetteville Rotary Parade. We had just missed their Photos and Cookies with Santa event, which made the welcome feel even more special.
The owner took the time to share the history of the room we stayed in, the Saint-Avold Suite, which added a thoughtful and personal touch to our stay. The suite itself was cozy and relaxing, with all the basic amenities you could need and the softest rugs, OMG honestly, my favorite part. There was also a cozy nook just outside the room that I could easily picture as a little library or reading nook.
We loved having a coffee station right outside the suite, and breakfast was absolutely amazing. The entire house was beautifully decorated with festive Christmas vibes, making it feel warm and magical.
The only downside was that it wasn’t quite a “silent night” due to the nearby trains. However, the hosts were very thoughtful and provided both earplugs and white noise machines, which we truly appreciated.
Overall, it was a charming, welcoming stay, and we would absolutely consider returning.
