"Acai bowls? In Playa del Rey? The future is now people. You might not come to the sleepy beach town craving pureed fruit, but if you do, The Mad Carrot is your spot. Their smoothies are the perfect pre-beach snack, but their sandwiches and salads aren’t anything to scoff at either. The turkey reuben is excellent, and as a plus it won’t kill you nearly as quickly either. MUST ORDER: Guacamole. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

Absolutely love this place! Their sandwiches (especially The Gobbler) are right on point. The smoothies are excellent too. Most of the ingredients they use are organic and you can feel the love they put into each preparation. If you are in the Playa Del Rey area, you need to check this place out!

GREAT GREAT GREAT FOOD!Not only is the food the BEST, it's healthy, clean, and as food in LA goes, very reasonably priced. I'm not sure what the girl was saying before because I got the Bodybuilder smoothie. It was incredible. My only complaint is that the WIFI went down while I was there, but that's Time Warner's fault not the restaurant. GREAT GREAT GREAT FOOD!

Don't make smoothies or juices if you don't make them using fresh ingredients. The smoothie tasted like something I could've made at home in literally 20 seconds by dumping a bag of old frozen fruit into a blender, and that isnt an exaggeration. Bland, overpriced and not competitive at all as far as taste/price/sizing goes. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the owner seemed nice, but dude... step it up. I wouldn't even mind paying the price if the smoothie was good.

Meh. For the price, you're better off going some place else. I love my smoothies creamy and full of fruit (or whatever you're putting in there). This place was ALL ice. I ordered the PB&J (peanut butter and strawberries) and my friend ordered the Blunana (self explanatory). Neither of them were good enough for $7.50 (medium size).

Ice cold organic juices, big juicy sandwiches, healthy fresh salads, The Mad Carrot is the healthiest, tastiest spot in Playa del Rey. The Traveling Gourmet gave it a five star rating. All organic juices, non-gmo, delicious, healthy food. The Argonaut newspaper rated one of the smoothies as one of the best in L.A. Come to The Mad Carrot. It's the freshest, cleanest, most delicious food in Playa del Rey.

I usually love this place when the regular guy is working. Now there's a new dude with fingernail polish and he almost made me sick with how he prepared my food. First off, bro where are your gloves? I started getting sick when I saw him picking each tortilla chip out of the bag to put in my container as a booger sat perched out of his nose. I wanted to cry. I ordered the ultimate grilled cheese with turkey which I usually love. What I got today was gross and stuffed with so much turkey you could swear it was thanksgiving. The cou de gra for me was that he put mayonnaise on it, so all the things made me take it back and ask for a refund. I'm good on the mad carrot from now on.

In a culture and city where it's hard to find food and drink options that are Non GMO and get a selection of organic and vegetarian options, this is the place that offers it all! And being a block from the beach, perfect spot to stop in after a day in the sun or bike riding on the beach path!

Counter serve healthy smoothies and sandwiches. Very basic but the food is good. Generally has hair metal playing in the background.
