First of all loved the play of words with the name, The “Maine” Souvenir Shop. They shop is fill of products and merchandises from local artists and vendor. They have lots of Maine based apparels, hand made souvenirs, cards, books, gift and collectible Items. Prices are comparable for handmade and custom goods. We bought a kid’s book that was window display, written by a local author. The shop has some highlights as well, such as the giant gorilla with Portland Maine sign, a perfect picture spot for tourists. There’s a huge Elvis Presley statues as well. We interacted with several associates in the store. All were very friendly and helpful. We had a good time at the store looking around and buying stuff.

Cute little souvenir shop, honestly one of the best souvenir shops I’ve seen. They had so much interesting fun stuff and the atmosphere in here was seriously fun. A little on the pricey side but for what you’re getting and considering it’s souvenirs it’s definitely what I expected. Also the employee working was so incredibly nice and helpful and even told us the stories behind the items we were buying which was extremely cool. Ask about the Totoro story. It’s so so cool so glad I got a Totoro postcard

Strong with the Force and personality, this shop is. Located in the quirky core of Portland, The Maine Souvenir Shop offers more than just locally made gear—it offers vibes. From Maine-proud apparel and witty mugs to stickers, hats, and even dog bandanas with more flair than a podracer at full throttle, everything here feels thoughtfully crafted and proudly local. The staff? As warm and welcoming as a campfire on Hoth. Helpful they were, answering questions without hesitation and guiding this Jedi traveler through stacks of funky, Maine-themed finds. But the true guardian of this outpost? A rainbow gorilla, sitting peacefully in the corner of the store—beanie and all. A true photo-op legend. If Chewbacca ever crash-landed in Portland and discovered TikTok, this would be his spirit animal. My youngling was delighted to take a seat in its vibrant arms—an experience as priceless as Beskar. 📸 This isn’t just a souvenir stop—it’s a photo-friendly, laughter-laced mini-adventure. ✨ Come for the sweatshirts. Stay for the stickers. Leave with memories and a rainbow gorilla selfie your friends won't believe. A must-visit it is. Miss it, you shall not.

Cute and quirky gift shop! It was practically illuminating the whole street from the corner it's on, making it impossible to miss when exploring the city at night. Which is good cause all the items and designs were so great it was hard to decide what to get. The guy there was tremendously friendly and knowledgeable about the artists featured. There's also a big gorilla in the back which is dope and you can take a picture with him.

I’m all about supporting local artists and small businesses, so I was genuinely excited to check this place out. The artwork? Amazing. Super talented makers, and exactly the kind of pieces I love to collect. Unfortunately, the experience tanked the minute the owner stepped into the picture. Apparently, he thinks creepy is just part of the customer service package. It’s a shame, because the artists deserve way better representation. I highly recommend finding these artists at a pop-up or artists event that doesn’t come with a side of red flags.

It's a souvenir store, but not a tacky overpriced souvenir store. A nice souvenir store featuring independent local Maine artists. Like, that's cool. Want to bring home something actually unique? Or better yet, want a fun postcard to send in the, gasp, mail? Here you go. Oh, also. If you make friends with Elvis, all your dreams will come true. That's what they say, anyway.

While my family and I visited Maine in Spring, we searched for a souvenir shop, and The Maine Souvenir Shop did not disappoint! The staff were super nice and helpful; they were willing to exchange coins for us without us buying anything. The shop is filled with cool merchandise from local artists. We couldn't resist their sticker collection and bought a bunch of cool stickers (Alice in Portland, game boy with Maine hidden places, Totoro in Maine, the rest we had already used and gifted to people before I could take pictures of them). We ended up spending quite a lot $$ but were happy with the purchase and customer service at the store. Highly recommend to those who are looking for cool, unique and high quality souvenirs!

9/30/23 - I LOVED THIS STORE! I was visiting from Maine and it's hard not to stop by this store. They lure you in with music they play outside the store but also the bright lights to see all of the amazing art work from different artist. I purchased lots of stickers and some ear rings. They tell you who you are buying and knew every artist. The employee's energy was so fun, happy, and cheery. It really brighten my night. I would highly recommend stopping by and taking a look at their store.
