Majestic Hotel Santorini | Best places to stay in Santorini

"Located on the main caldera ring road, the Majestic is spread across the eastern slopes, meaning that the views are towards the black beaches, rather than the caldera itself. If you’re looking for somewhere to laze on your balcony watching the sunset, this isn’t the place.  If, however, you want to explore the island it’s an ideal choice, with Fira – famed for its busy nightlife – and the central bus station both a short walk away. There’s also a number of limited parking spaces in the hotel car park, a rarity near Fira.  The hotel itself is sleekly luxurious, with lots of grey marble and leather, and has the bonus of two heated pools (most rely on the sun to warm them).  Add in a cosy, romantic restaurant for dinner, and breakfast as late as you like, and this is an ideal base for those who want to discover Santorini beyond its sunsets.  " - John Malathronas

Stayed at the majestic and my wife and i enjoyed the location, although on a busy main road, it was a 10 minute walk into thira. The hotel itself was very clean with great views but there was some niggly little things that let it down, firstly your balcony is not very private as the people next to you are separated with just a small wall, the upper floor where we were staying had a mezzanine bedroom up some very steep spiral stairs which for my wife and i were challenging in the middle of the night when we needed the toilet, being in our 60’s. The jacuzzi bath broke and the management offered us another room but we were settled and fully unpacked so we stayed there. The pool area was spotlessly well maintained and well marshalled by Nicholas with no one allowed to reserve sun-beds, but they supply all towels. The breakfast was lovely with a good choice of hot and cold food but you have to ask for any hot drinks like tea and coffee. Staff all around the hotel were very friendly and helpful. I would like to thank all the staff for a lovely gesture by giving me a surprised birthday cake on the day we were going home. Would i go back to Santorini, i'me not sure. Although the hotel was nice the towns like kalamari, perissa aren’t the prettiest towns, thira is bustling with large amounts of people coming off the cruise ships. We wouldn’t like to come in high season. We got the feeling most of the bars were geared up for younger people. Most of the restaurants are quite good but be prepared to pay if you want the views over the caldera which i must say are stunning. All in all it was a good holiday, quite expensive, but another holiday destination ticked off our bucket list

If you want to feel like a VIP, book your room already! The customer service here is absolutely unbelievable. ||The hotel is elegant and classy, and yes—the photos on the website are real, but they don’t do it justice.||The pool is exactly what everyone needs: peaceful, refreshing, and relaxing. Breakfast is wonderful, with plenty of delicious choices to suit everyone.||We stayed for a few days as a family of five with three kids. We swam, enjoyed food and drinks by the pool, and spent time in the game room, which has a pool table and foosball. After cleaning up, we walked into Fira (about a quarter-mile away) for dinner and to wander around. It’s perfect for people-watching, grabbing ice cream, or enjoying a drink.||The rooms are very comfortable. Ours had great air conditioning (fully controllable), strong Wi-Fi, and plenty of hot water. We stayed in a garden room, which was lovely.||The property features beautiful stone and marble throughout, creating a luxurious and serene environment.

We stayed here for just 1 night before transitioning to Oia. The staff and manager welcomed us warmly with a complimentary drink. They carried our luggage to the room. The room was small but clean, and with a nice view of the sea. The pool area is enticing. You can view the sunrise right from this area or from your room. We also tried the sauna and steam. The staff were helpful with arranging cabs. If you walk across from the hotel and cross the street, you get a lovely unhindered view of the sea.

The hotel was beyond our expectations. We had a flood in our room within the first 24 hours of arriving and the lovely manager apologized and moved us to another upgraded room, did all our laundry that might have been affected by the water and provided us a complimentary dinner too. The hotel went above and beyond for this minor inconvenience. The hotel is walking distance to the adorable town of Faros which has a lot of nightlife, restaurants and souvenir shops. The breakfast was delicious and was nut allergy friendly and the lunch was average. I think the only thing that could improve this hotel is if they brought in a chef like they had at Barolo. It not only would bring in additional revenue, but it would encourage outside guests to experience this beautiful hotel.

We went in April 2024 for a surprise hen do and had the most lovely experience.||I was in contact with Christina in the lead up to our visit and she arranged suitable rooms, transport to and from the airport and just was all round lovely and made the hen do extra special. ||The breakfast was everything we could need to fuel our days, the facilities were great.||Obviously the visit was a while ago but honestly I would 100% use this hotel again, especially for special occasions, knowing how great the staff are and how special they make the visit feel. I have such fond memories of Santorini and the help with planning from the staff here and how they looked after us was such a big part of that!

I am a 12, almost 13, year old boy and I was very pleased with my stay. The rooms were cleaned every day and the beds were very comfortable. There were two pools (a big one and a small one) with plenty of sun beds so you were guaranteed to get one. The lifeguard, Nikios, was very helpful and would open parasols for you and get you towels if you couldn’t find one. At the bar, the staff were very kind especially Amin who would give us complimentary snacks every time we ordered there. The breakfast was very tasty and Dora, one of the waiters, was very nice and good at taking orders. I ate at the bar restaurant twice and was pleased with the quality of food but I did also have other food from the bar when I was around the pool which was also delicious. Even if there were any problems somewhere, the manager would always come and check to make sure things were alright. Overall, I loved my stay and would very much come again. If Amin is reading this then thank you this is from George.

Fantastic stay ! Amazing staff who took great care of us. The whole site is super clean and everything in good shape. Location is a 10 minutes walk to the beautiful town of Fira. A Taxi to Oia is 30 Euros. The pool area loungers are soooooo comfortable ! We had 1 dinner there and it was absolutely delicious. Our waiter made us feel very special. The morning buffet is just perfect ! Nick the pool guy/lifeguard was very friendly and entertaining. Our only gripe is with the mattress that was way too hard. We would recommend this hotel without any hesitation.
