I ordered an iced matcha latte with honey and my goodness it was delicious. I was greeted so nicely and was met with amazing hospitality. Will def be coming back here. A true San Diego hidden gem

Damn good coffee. Came multiple times in my week stay in San Diego. This is the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. Definitely recommend!! I loved the big island latte and the mocha.

I loved everything about this coffee shop. Hesitantly ordered off a previous seasonal menu and was delighted to hear the friendly barista tell me, No problem! The handcrafted matcha latte and also the cold brew were exactly to my liking, truly delicious. A variety of snacks and baked goods were available (I purchased snacks and resisted the baked goods). Finally, I believe they roast their own beans! Highly recommend 😁

The ONLY reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because they close mid day... and when you serve coffee THIS delicious, it should be available ALL DAY every day. Like, what do you mean I can't grab a cup at 5pm?! Surely one of the millionaires around San Diego can help them stay open 24/7. Instead of investing in silly social apps, throw some money their way. TLDR; A+ service with 6 star coffee and disappointing store hours 👍

Mark is the best! Super personable and good coffee. He actually puts care into his decaf knowing those of us who order it enjoy for the taste not the caffeine. No bathroom in the building so take care of your business before you come. There aren’t seats inside but a few tables outside! Worth the visit. 10/10 will be back (probably tomorrow lol)

Recently found this place over the weekend and it’s a hidden gem. They serve coffee using their own beans roasted in-house , something you don’t see often! I tried a triple shot iced americano and it was absolutely perfect. I’d highly recommend this place if you want quality, locally roasted coffee.

I always judge my coffee by how well they make a cappuccino. Do they understand the ratios? This spot, most certainly does not.

One of best Mexican Mochas I have had in town. Plus they have the option to make it extra spicy and it is amazing!!! The pastries that they have are good as well. The customer service is great! My coffee comes out fast and hot. I love stopping by right before work.

Both delicious. Reasonable priced, great quality coffee beans used. Outdoor patio sitting available. Plenty of parking. Overall very positive experience, I've been back twice already.

This little gem in Mission Hills is a must visit if you love good coffee! They roast their own beans and the flavors are rich and robust! The customer service person is knowledgeable and helpful! It's an independently owned coffee house with plenty of snacks and pastries! Bring a friend and sit out front at one of the bistro tables! I brought home a bag of beans and will definitely return to buy another for my pantry!

This place is a hidden treasure tucked away in SD Middletown district. I was so happy to have found this place and even happier with my small latte which comes with two shots of expresso at a reasonable price. My latte was very smooth and had just the right amount of foam on top. Not only do they offer the standard expresso drinks but they have a Nitro cold brew and this place is also a roastery and can ship coffee to you. They have small snacks, ice cream, and a small pastry case with muffins and cakes. The woman at the counter was very warm and welcoming and quick to take my order and the place had a very laid back and homey feel. There are also a few tables outside. If you live around the area I suggest you try this place out and skip any chain coffee place.

This coffee shop is super convenient since I also go to the climbing gym close by! I love love their variety of snacks available. Lots of healthy options, as well as some indulging options like their assorted pastries. One of my favs would be the fruit sticks, and then in the fridge they have chobani yogurt, with a perfect amount of granola to mix together for a nutrition packed snack, and I'd say it's a reasonable price for being chobani! The coffee for me is a hit and miss! I love their cold brew. Which is surprising because I don't usually like cold brew. But their cappuccino was alright for me. I also wish more coffee shops did a small version of their cappuccino, 12 Oz is just too much for me, but that's personal preferences! I do love their long list of flavors you can add into your drinks though. You don't see that many places and I love that. The shop owner though is so kind and welcoming and you can tell that he is passionate about what he does. I also love the outdoor seating. It's peaceful. And I'm thankful they have signs on the table stating that it's ONLY for Make Good Coffee customers. Def will be returning to give more drinks a try (:

Finally got to try this place out. My son is always dancing upstairs when this place is usually closed. Great coffee! I had the Salted Caramel Latte and he gave me an expresso since I told him I had a kickboxing match later. There's a wide selection if flavors to choose so it might be hard trying to pick what you want. Mark is such a great guy and the service was exceptional. I highly recommend grabbing a drink or snack if you pass by!

We found Make Good Coffee Co. by chance when we saw it on the way to taking our son for his hip-hop class at Culture Shock on a Saturday. We walked into the small cafe and were immediately greeted by barista Marc's enthusiastically cheery personality. He recommended my husband try a lavender lemonade while I got a Mexican iced mocha. And wow. This is such a hidden gem. The lavender lemonade turned out so good hubby's returned several times for more. My Mexican mocha also elicited a happy "mmmm." Marc takes the kind of time and care necessary to create these delicious drinks. It's rare in this age of instant gratification and chain coffee spots. Good Coffee also offers a variety of other drinks, bottled refreshments, baked goods and an oatmeal bar. Coffee addicts can also pick up fresh beans for home brews. Seating is outside and covered by umbrellas. It's a wonderful alternative to staring inside the dance studio through the window. Highly recommend anyone give this space a try!

Super cute & efficient coffee shop! I got an iced coffee which was made quickly! I love this spot because it's right next to my dance studio so I can pop in before I start my class. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I wasn't asked what size drink I wanted. I'm not sure if they have multiple sizes but my coffee was on the smaller side than I would have wanted.

Absolutely outstanding customer service with quality coffee to match! It was refreshing to receive such delightful customer service. I ordered a dirty matcha latte with sugar free vanilla and oat milk. Made to perfection!

Coffee was actually pretty good, the owner made me feel unwelcome. He refused to let me use the restroom or have a cup of water with my coffee. I had to ask the business next door to use the shared restroom. Even with a nice product, I wouldn't return to support this business.

Great coffee, even better people. A place off the beaten path is worth the trek. They roast beans in house. They have a little bit of everything and it's all thoughtfully curated.

I had to review this place as soon as I left. Heard the coffee was smoother than other places and didn't quite know what that meant til I tasted it. Probably the best I've had in San Diego area. Wasn't sure what to order so I let him choose for me and it was DELIGHTFUL. Iced macadamia nut, coconut, and white chocolate latte w/ oat milk. I requested it a little less sweet since I do watch my sugar intake and I can't imagine it being any better than it was. Prices are great. They roast their beans in house that they also sell bags of. Super yummy treats inside. Will be back!

I've been coming to this coffee shop for a few months and they're quality of coffee will not let you down. They have several variety's of what type you like and will make it just the way you want it. The owners are full of great energy & will give you that warm welcoming as soon as you walk in . The customer service is A+ and the coffee is just the cherry on top. Coleen and Mark are wonderful people, and their genuineness comes out in the coffee they roast and serve. I really value the days I'm able to pop in and grab a very well-made traditional cappuccino or macchiato. They really know how to roast! The coffee is always high quality. The location is small, but you can usually always find Mark in there prepping to roast another batch of premium beans. They also have a great selection of snacks to send you on your way with. I always leave here feeling great. Definitely worth stopping in to treat yourself if you're in the area!

What a hidden gem! They are super friendly and welcoming, and the coffee is bomb. Just moved into the neighborhood and finding this place made me feel welcome and right at home. Major bonus points for how sweet they were to my dog too. I am so happy to have found them!!

Coming back again to say how amazing this shop is and their coffee!! The two owners are so genuinely warm and friendly, it's like a Trader Joes experience but better because you're walking out with the best cup of coffee SD has to offer. As an SD native, I've been to so many coffee shops but these guys will always remain at the top, do yourself a favor and give them a try!! Pro tip: their good karma jar actually works!!

I said it once and I'll say it again absolutely the best coffee place in the entire world and I've had my fair share of travels. Coffee like this makes a 41 mile drive completely worth it!

I am so happy with my oat milk latte, a maple oatmeal with pecans and raisins, and the perfect umbrella-shaded seat watching the planes takeoff from Lindbergh Field and the train passed by and have a little honk. The coffee was perfect and I'll definitely come back to try their drip. They have a super cool vintage roasting machine in the shop too. I love small businesses and this is definitely one to try out and support. The oatmeal from their oatmeal bar is gluten free so that was a definite plus for me and my belly. They do have some pastries but a pretty simple selection and nothing GF. The mini cinnamon rolls did look good tho for any non-celiac folks. Hope this helps.

Really good coffee, and roasted in small batches! Nicest man behind the counter and the muffins are huge and delicious! Worth the journey and a $12 bag is worth it to take it home

Passed by this cozy shop while driving down Hancock st. I'm so glad I decided to pull over and go inside! Less is more with coffee is my opinion and there is a general sense of quality with this coffee. Super clean inside with in house roasting and an amazing curation of beans. I even grabbed a bag of noir espresso to brew at home and it was exceptional!!! A great recommendation by the barista.

I ran into this coffee company at the Scripps Ranch Farmer's Market, and I was very please that they were there, because I was in need of a pick me up. They only French press their coffees here, so I picked up a cup for only $2.50. The Joshua Bean Blend French Pressed coffee or house blend that I drank was terrific. The hot coffee provided a rich smoothness with hints of chocolate and berries. The coffee did not need any sugar because it already had a good natural sweetness and just a touch of acidity. Another words, the coffee blend was well balanced. You can find this coffee at the farmer's market or at their roastery store on Hancock street in Mission Hills and Five Points area of San Diego. Marc, the owner and the one who will press your coffee is down to earth cool and he sure knows his coffee beans...

Road trippin n sleeping on a weird bed... I've been struggling. Mark suggested I try the nitro cold brew. Smooth flavored with enough caffeine to give me the energy I need to enjoy this beautiful city. Give them a try whether local or just visiting you won't regret it.

Stumbled on this place on a recent trip. Small hole in the wall that serves amazing coffee. The family ordered all kinds of different things on the first trip. A couple months later we were back in town and we were once again impressed. I don't think I'll ever visit another coffee shop when in San Diego.

Service was fantastic and the drink I ordered was even better! Stopped by this place for a pick me up after my friends and I went to the rock climbing gym. The gentleman making my drink was super nice and friendly and told me about the coffee making process in the building. They roast everything in house and everything is super fresh and delicious! I tried the iced churro latte with oat milk (I think it's a summer special so I don't know if it's available year round) and it was creamy and sweet without being too overwhelming! The coffee shop is a little small but it's decorated with art from local artists, which is what we love to see. 11/10 would recommend, I will definitely be back to try their other drinks! :)

I have literally never posted a yelp review but felt like I had to here... Ordered probably the best Cappuccino I have ever had from one of the nicest people I have met (Colleen). All in all just a fantastic way to start my day. Would 1,000,0000% recommend

Marc and Colleen are knowledgeable and welcoming. The coffee itself is perfection but they make it extra special. Definitely a great little much needed addition to the area.

We are in SD for the weekend and found this nice coffee shop. I got the oatmeal with honey, almonds and raisins; really great start to our morning. The coffee is ground in house, perfect balancing flavors. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

It has been one year now since the Make Good Coffee Company opened up and I was their on day 1. I've been going everyday (open six days a week) and have seen the coffee shop grow! The menu has expanded, though I keep coming back for the expresso (a double shot for $3.50) which is exceptional! The coffee roaster on the premises is part of the reason, though the way Colleen and Marc are running the shop is what takes it over the top! Thanks for what you do

An excellent option for a cup of locally roasted coffee on the outskirts of Old Town near the airport. Cute little shop and roasting space run by "coffee junkies" Marc and Colleen. Nice variety of hot n cold drinks daily. Try the Iced Mocha for sure! They have all of their coffee beans and grounds packaged for sale to take home as well. Also a good selection of snacks n cakes to go along w your cup o' Joe. Very COVID safe inside. Keep up the good work!

It was a damn good cup of coffee. Rich and smooth with the tang of fruit and acid that tells you it was a fresh roast. Marc has ruined other coffee places for me.
