Yelp
I don't like writing negative reviews, but this place has such high ratings that I felt like I needed to post one. It's a restaurant that advertises itself primarily as a distillery and second as a smokehouse; the waitress emphasized that both of these things are their specialties. My wife ordered a burger and I ordered the smoked brisket because that was meant to be one of their specialties.
To be clear, if the prices were lower, this would be more like a 3.5, but at the pricepoint it was just not good. The burger was dry and bland even though it was covered in toppings and sauce. The brisket was grey rather than pink, and so dry that the jus it came with soaked up completely every few minutes after I poured it on. There was no smoke flavor to the meat at all; the predominant and basically only flavor was black pepper, which was crusted onto the exterior. The potatoes admittedly were pretty good, both the smashed ones I had and the fries.
If the prices were a bit lower and there weren't chefs in white coats running around pushing the aesthetic of a high-end eatery, again, maybe this would be a 3.5, but the way this restaurant is presenting itself and the actual food is out of step with each other.
