The Manchester Hotel (Lexington KY, Kentucky) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Manchester distills — pun very much intended — the quintessential Kentucky high life into one mid-century maximalist property. Every facet of the hotel feels — from the loft-style brick façade to the warm, convivial public spaces, decorated in stained wood, leather, and brass. Rooms emanate a sense of prestige with well-chosen textiles, wainscoting, and oversize headboards. The rooftop tiki bar is a hit with the locals, and doesn’t hold back on campy Sixties vibes." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is amazing, with every thought to detail. The staff was super helpful and accommodating. Every attention to detail was made in the design, from the ceiling color to the shape of the cocktail glasses in the room. I LOVED all of the outlets for both accessories and technology. The choice of in room snack and beverages in the mini bar were a mix of classic favorites and hometown flavor.||||The only thing (and this is on me, not the hotel)-it took me several minutes to figure out how to turn off the bedside lamps and the desk lighting. I assumed all lighting in the room was Lutron. (so, note: The bedside lighting has knobs on the sconce and the desk switch is on the power strip)

I really wanted to love this hotel but it missed the mark on every turn. ||From the moment we arrived, valet attendants barely acknowledged us, didn’t open our car doors or the doors to enter the hotel. They actually pushed a bag cart to us and we loaded and awkwardly pushed it in the building ourselves, us holding the doors open for the cart. I asked one of the attendants to throw away a small bag of trash, bc there is not a garbage receptacle outside, he said no, maybe ask the front desk. ||The front desk barely acknowledged us upon arrival. The desk girl looked up once, maybe twice. Gave us no info regarding the hotel itself. Literally nothing. ||Room was nice, small and somewhat crowded. Room service options are weirdly limited. No phone in room, so you literally can’t contact hotel without going back downstairs, where they are completely unhelpful. Bed is comfortable, pillows are terrible. We were given 2 towels & 2 washcloths. Mini bar is stacked, but fridge isn’t cold. The little side table is big enough for a laptop, nothing else. Closet has no hangers. Decorative touches are nice. ||The following morning we attempted to have breakfast in the restaurant, but they were only serving in the lounge at tiny little, short side tables. I heard a guest requesting assistance in shipping some bourbon and was told no, to find a post office. It was Veterans Day, so closed. Front staff just has no desire to be helpful. ||We also ordered door dash on our 3rd night, it was delivered but the dasher wasn’t allowed to bring to our room. Front staff received it and took it in the back, no call, nothing. When I went to find it, the girl working the desk said she didn’t hadn’t received it, even though she was actually in the delivery pic from door dash. ||All in all, this is not a trained staff that wants to be there. No one is friendly, no one actually cares you are paying to stay there. Who ever gave this place a Michelin nod was insane, bc nothing here is high end or deserving of recognition.

**⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for The Manchester Hotel, Lexington, KY**||Our stay at The Manchester was absolutely perfect from beginning to end. From the friendly valet greeting us at the entrance to the beautiful, comfortable room, every detail was spot on. The atmosphere at the bar was lively yet relaxed, and the breakfast the next morning was excellent. Every staff member we encountered was kind and professional. We could not be happier with our stay and will definitely be back — highly recommend!

Google
Beautiful boutique stay in the heart of Lexington. Don’t miss the rooftop bar at sunset — the view (and cocktails) are perfection. Steps from Brevede Coffee and The Burl for live music, and just a short drive to Keeneland and the horse farms. Even the smell of this place is amazing — like leather, fresh grass, and a little musk — totally on-brand for horse country chic.

Google
We loved the horse theme especially since we went to Kentucky for the horse races at Keeneland. The track was 12 minutes down the road. The rooftop bar was amazing. Great cocktails and DJ. The Valet was convenient and the service was very friendly!

Right off the bat, I will tell management you need professionals receiving your guests when they pull up and are greeted by your valet only service. The 2 guys that received us had nothing to offer in the form of a smile, warm greeting, anything. They didn’t even address the two of just kept talking amongst themselves. “$11 to park”. Gee thanks, I’m doing well how about you? I’ll get the door for me and my wife but thanks. Awful first impression. Truly bad for traveling 6 hours to get there and you’re excited to arrive and you have that type of employee out front greeting your guests for what is expected to be a great visit for what you pay. The service is probably outsourced by the hotel, fire them. Vet your own people. If the GM of this beautiful hotel saw guests greeted like this he’d be appalled. Service at the roof top was nice but very slow. Esthetics of this place are very pretty, but service needs to improve to impress seasoned travelers.

Good employee can make the difference! We had an outstanding experience at Manchester Hotel in Lexington, KY! The property is beautiful, modern, and welcoming, but what truly made my stay memorable was the exceptional service from Chase H. His kindness, professionalism, and ability to take charge when I needed assistance went above and beyond. Chase handled my concerns with care and efficiency, making me feel truly valued as a guest. Highly recommend this hotel, and a huge thank you to Chase H. for making my stay unforgettable!

Google
Our stay for our anniversary was a huge disappointment . The room was lovely but small. We kept walking into the bench at end of bed . I paid for King room with a view . We looked over the air conditioning units . The lighting was very cool but hard to figure out The shower was nice but couldn’t reach the shampoo or body wash from under the shower. They had lots of items to buy in the room but for the price would have been nice to have offered bottle water . You have to pay to park your car . The cars sit in a nasty lot feet from the door . The outside ambiance is definely warehouse chic ..meaning sits in the middle of nowhere . The only redeeming feature was the bed .. I would not recommend this ..as too pricey and too many add on fees that were not necessary on the final bill. You will be shocked !

Yelp
I stayed here for my wedding and had the absolute best experience. Frankly, the bar situations - both in the lobby and upstairs at The Lost Palm - are top-of-the-line and wouldn't feel out of place in Manhattan or Los Angeles. The lobby bar serves an A+ espresso martini. The staff left us a really nice gift basket and note in honor of our wedding; they were also kind enough to let us store leftover food from the wedding in their refrigerators downstairs. The decoration really is immaculate throughout every room; Lexington is a beautiful city, and The Manchester is the perfect hotel for those looking to rest their heads after a long day on the bourbon trail.

Yelp
The Manchester is a super cool luxury hotel in Lexington. There is so much style here - the vibes are Miami or maybe Scottsdale or Palm Springs. The rooms are amazing and the views from the rooftop bar are phenomenal. Parking is complicated, but not impossible if you consider that ahead of time or are willing to pay for Valet. Lots you can safely walk to from here.

Yelp
I was in Lexington for a Yelp Elite Event and it did not disappoint. We got to visit The Manchester. The appetizers I had were great. The braised tri-tip with grits, pimento cheese and labna and the hummus with marinated feta and house made crackers were delicious. For cocktails I had the PB&J Old Fashioned and the Kentucky Curley were both excellent. Our bartender, Tony was very attentive and made sure the cocktails were up to their standards. Went upstairs to Lost Palm and had a house Old Fashioned which was very good as well. We got to tour the hotel and rooftop bar Lost Palm. I look forward to coming back here with friends/family/clients and letting them check this place out. Definitely a top notch experience for Lexington. The Manchester hotel has an eclectic hip feel to it and was a great experience.

Yelp
Very aesthetically pleasing hotel with a rich traditional vibe, very classy. The bed was comfy with down comforter, lots of little touches in the room, communication with hotel via text was nice, good options for food/drinks on site, location for us was great due to a concert next door but also very close to the distillery district. No free parking... valet for $24/night or you can park in the lot across the street for $20/night. We were able to check-in early which was appreciated. Checked-out online so that was a nice convenience.

Yelp
The Manchester is a beautifully decorated place. The staff is friendly and helpful. I look forward to future visits.

Yelp
Other than parking, everything else was great. There is paid parking across the street. I was greeted at the door and was able to get in. It was a cool dark vibe that I like a lot. The bartender was very nice. He suggested the Palomino drink and it had very unique combinations. Tried few of the appetizers. My favorite was the braised tri tip. The grits were also good. Hummus and marinated feta was a delicate touch. Then as part of the Yelp Elite Event, we were given a tour of the Hotel. The hotel vibes were very quirky and wonderful. Would definitely stay here. The bunk bed rooms were so cute and apt for a family. The roof top bar gave Moroccan vibes, and offered a phenomenal view of Lexington.

Yelp
I attended a Yelp event at the Manchester and it was amazing. We had a wonderful catered meal of appetizers and an entree of polenta and a beef dish. The hummus was great as well. We had a tour of the hotel and I see they put a great effort in to taking you out of Lexington and transporting you to Miami. I really enjoyed the rooftop bar. Great experience. Will definitely be take!!!!!

Yelp
About halfway between Atlanta and Cleveland is a cool city called Lexington Ky. While it's not the bourbon capital (Bardstown Ky is) they are part of the famous Kentucky Bourbon trail. A perfect place to hold up for the night and recharge for the second leg of my trip to Cleveland. Enter the Manchester. A newly opened, very cool looking hotel with a combination of throwback design blended with some rich looking decor. A gorgeous decorative and furnished lobby with lots of seating area, and a full bar surrounded with comfy causal couches and chairs. I love the decor of the room. A very comfortable bed and spotless room. And a bar inside the room, complete with gin, vodka, bourbon and scotch. The rooftop bar/restaurant is a must. A very cool vibe, good food and great cocktails with a gorgeous view. A great experience and awesome start to attending my nieces wonderful wedding weekend in Cleveland.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing from the Valet upon arrival to the checkout persons. Our entire stay was the Very Best. Clean, Stylish, Majestic, First Class, Safe and Secure. Very Friendly and Professional Staff. Can't wait to go Back. In all my many decades of travel, this is the only Hotel that I Rant and Rave about because it left a Very Positive Impression. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Manchester is a really nice lowkey rooftop that over looks lexington. I enjoyed my time with friends there. The food is very good, mostly appetizers and the service was really nice. Definitely the place to be on a nice day in lex.

Michael H.

Yelp
I really love your hotel, but I will not stay there again until you fully enclose your showers. You've designed them such that a person has to walk out from behind the glass to get shampoo, etc. and, as a result, nearly freeze to death. Such a stupid design.

Yelp
The place was loaded with fantastic amenities, and the service was top-notch, no doubt about it. We were looking forward to crashing on the comfy bed after a day of fun, but boy, did we get a surprise! The bed was dreamy, and the bedding was all clean and cozy, but then...bam! The music from the rooftop bar decided to join our party on the second floor. Oh, it wasn't just a subtle background tune; it was like having a rock concert right outside our window. We thought, "Hey, the rooftop bar must be closing soon, right? So, the music will stop too!" But, oh no, it had other plans. Midnight passed, and the music was still going strong, as if the party was never going to end. By 2 am, we were starting to think they had their own DJ on duty for the night... At 4 am, in a desperate attempt to save what was left of our sanity, we dialed the front desk. Turns out, the music was blasting from the restaurant INSIDE the hotel. And guess what? The poor staff was locked out of the program, unable to tame the music monster within. Finally, at the crack of dawn (4:30 am to be precise), the music took a chill pill, and we managed to squeeze in a couple of hours of shut-eye. Phew! We were like sleep-deprived warriors on a mission. Kudos to the management, though. They tried to make amends by giving us a 20% discount on our stay. It was a nice gesture, but honestly, I would've traded it for a pair of industrial earplugs. Now, I have to give props to the staff--the real MVPs here. They were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. From booking to recommendations, they had our backs and made us feel like royalty (albeit exhausted royalty). I'll definitely stay with them again, I just hope next time they have addressed the lack of insulation issue.

Yelp
My expectations were exceeded upon my arrival at The Manchester hotel in KY. We had been driving for a few hours so we got in sometime in the evening. As soon as I opened the car door, the outside air smelled delicious so whatever they were cooking in there, I needed to have it! The parking was a bit confusing since there's a lot in front of the hotel but it was only for valet parking. It was only $20 for overnight parking and the valet attendant was super nice and very patient when he explained the process. Check-in was easy and you can tell that this was a new hotel. My room was beautifully decorated and I loved the Le Labo amenities in the bathroom. They had an electric kettle for coffee and a clothes steamer in the closet. Their attention to detail was impressive! I loved the thick down comforters which made the bed super cozy for me and my dog Lucy. Which is another great thing; they're also pet-friendly! Lucy and I had a great time and she also very much enjoyed her stay at The Manchester.

Yelp
we love going here every four months to try the new menus! It's our splurge date night and it's so worth it because we love trying food and trying to guess how they make it truly the best gourmet in Lexington

John G.

Yelp
Poor service, noisy, not worth the price-very disappointed, had hoped this would become our go to for Lexington visits

Yelp
Food was stellar, can't speak for the hotel. Atmosphere is great. Staff was amazing . Really unsure as to the low reviews
google avatar

Yelp
Can I do a .5 star? Perhaps let customers that are coming to support your business know that the mandatory valet is at their expense. Poorly designed customer experience trap.
google avatar

Joshua B.

Yelp
Called to ask if we needed a reservation for the rooftop bar. Was told we didn't if we wanted to just have drinks and stand at the bar. Arrived and we were told we would have to go on an hour waitlist. Need to work on communication. The drinks were just ok at Granddam bar downstairs as we waited.

Yelp
Party Hotel Stayed at hotel Sat July 13. Traveled to Lexington with wife and two kids for PGA event. Paid $775 total for one night of adjoining rooms includes taxes and new "clean energy assessment". I am not one to complain, however, feel review is needed to warn other guests. Pay extra for adjoining room for this provides overall better sleep if one gets up to use bathroom or someone wants to watch TV a bit longer. At end of day, the function of a hotel is to provide space for hotel guests to sleep. The Manchester outdoor rooftop bar was having a Saturday party event. The DJ was blasting the music to the level the bass would vibrate the hotel room window. I tried the sleep app white noise on iphone and nothing would drown out the bass. My son fell right asleep, however, my daughter could not because of the DJ bass. I stayed up with her. As my father would always tell me, nothing good happens after midnight. Thus, I waited and figured The Manchester would have the party winding down at midnight. Midnight came and rooftop party was still going strong. No phone in room so I text at 12:07 asking when rooftop DJ party ends. I receive "I'm sorry but the live music rooftop session is scheduled to end at 1:00AM." At 1:00AM the party was still going strong. I text hotel again at 1:08AM to be informed, "I was just told that it is ending at 2AM instead of 1AM. They usually extend the time depending on how many people are up there. I truly am sorry that your stay is a bit unsetting. I think we may have earplugs here at the front desk." I realize front desk clerk overnight is just punching clock and does not set policy or book these DJ and rooftop party events. The clerk did text me, "I will leave this situation with management so they can help." Two days has past and I have yet to receive a text, email, or phone call from management to apologize. Folks be warned, this is a PARTY HOTEL. If you are young and looking for a place to party, this is your hotel. If you have kids or older looking for a place to SLEEP, I would look someplace else!!!

Yelp
We originally booked 3 rooms at a different hotel in Lexington, but after someone in our group found used needles (!!) in their trash can we decided to make a move. We called The Manchester and talked to Cassie who was so sweet and helpful in securing new rooms for everyone in our group and even gave us a bit of a discount to help us out. Everyone we came in contact with was so friendly and went out of their way to be gracious and accommodating. Very upscale and clean with a young hip vibe. Highly recommend!

Looking Out For The City ..

Yelp
The atmosphere is nice, almost like the 21C Museum Hotel. I feel like this addition will even out the playing field as the Galt House and The Brown Hotel are in Louisville.

K L.

Yelp
Lexington Ky is one of my favorite cities!!! It is an equestrian paradise and i come to Lexington quite a bit! I was so happy to see a new hotel that is "5-star"! So I tried the Manchester! The hotel decor is absolutely stylish and gorgeous! Vintage cocktails like a Pegu on the menu! I wanted to give it 5 stars However it is not 5 star. I think the staff needs a little more training. Today I had to bring down my luggage (no bellman to be found) and load it myself after the valet brought the car around. He ignored me and did not offer to help. . The Granddam is a good restaurant. I think with time, it will be great. Also, while the honor bar in the room is well stocked, the bathroom amenities are like a cheap air b&b. 5 star means pretty soaps and accoutrements. I hope they get the kinks worked out because it is an aesthetically pleasing hotel.

Nora G.

Yelp
We brought 10 people here for drinks and had the worst service possible. We are all of age and the bar tender refused to serve us claiming all our ids were fake. They were unprofessional and handled the situation horribly. Would not recommend

Helen G.

Yelp
Disgusting trash place. The servers are some of the rudest people I've come across. The service is terrible.
