Pijja Palace Follow-Up Schezwan Club Is Opening Next Door in Silver Lake | Eater LA

"Next door to Pijja Palace in the Sunset Boulevard complex, Schezwan Club is a forthcoming 2,500-square-foot, 80-seat restaurant that will spotlight Indian Chinese cooking with Southeast Asian accents through the uncompromising vision of an Echo Park native. With contractor negotiations wrapped and construction slated to start this summer, it should be serving its first plates of Manchurian chicken in the first half of 2025. The moodier interior, also being designed by Casandra Smith, will lean on darker cherry woods and maybe a neon sign to create a cool, unassuming vibe. Naran has broadened the concept beyond Indo-Chinese roots after months of research trips to Indonesia, Singapore, and India, emphasizing shared ingredients like tamarind and tea culture; the menu is expected to pair Singapore noodles alongside Manchurian chicken, offer a dozen or more sambals, feature Singapore-style chile crab and possible roti canai, and include cocktails both inspired by Ye’s Apothecary and classic regional drinks such as the Singapore Sling and the Pegu Club. Above all, he wants Schezwan Club to have soul and cultural significance beyond flavor—eschewing rules in favor of a personal vision while carrying over the team culture that made Pijja Palace a success." - Cathy Chaplin

Loved the varieties of food options here. This place is like having Chinese Menu with Indian touch of taste. Thoroughly enjoyed the food with my team. The service is fabulous. Must try place if you are working or nearby Changi Business Park. Recommended for team lunch gatherings.

The food is great here. A lot of options for vegetarian dishes. Must try dish is Salt and pepper corn, chilli pepper paneer, Szechwan Noodles The staff needs some training to be away from customer’s tables while they are dining as it may intervene in their privacy.

Had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We went there for a pleasant family dinner, but the moment we were seated, the manager (or whoever was in charge) approached us abruptly and said that the last order would be taken at 9:15 PM — despite the restaurant being completely empty. The staff’s attitude made us feel as if we had done something wrong by coming for dinner at that hour. Such unprofessional and discourteous behaviour was truly unexpected from a restaurant of this standard. It now makes sense why the place was empty. We’ve dined here before, but after this experience, we won’t be visiting again. A word of caution to others: think twice before choosing this restaurant for a family dinner — especially if you value good service and hospitality.

A decent and spacious outlet for Indo-chinese cuisine. Quick serve is a plus when you make your order from the table. You are being checked often for any of your immediate needs by having by frequent visits by the servers to the table. Most of the items are good and tasty but certain items are too saucy. Nevertheless the taste over shoots the saucy. Lots of options for vegetarian people and absolutely kids friendly. Water is not served but should be bought as bottle water.

I was very disappointed first time i visit this place in 2022. Food was pathetic....spring roll is all jumbo size n filled with raw cabbage. Taste yak....sezwan noodle was tasteless n even mango Lassi was horrible.... I revisited this place on April 2024 n must say possible the chef change n we get to eat some good food here . 100% to chicken Manchuria dry. Shwezwan fried rice was good ...would have been the best if they add more veggies to the fried rice. Fried corn was tempting but could make it better with fresh corn n less salt. Again momos was good could add some veggies along with paneer to make it taste better. Overall the food was good ...however they can be one of the best Indian chines food restaurant if they make few changes. Loved the brownies with ice-cream on of the best. Would recommend for both Indian steel chines food for vegetarian n non vegetarian.

I was looking for Indian Chinese food in Singapore and this is the perfect matching restaurant if you are looking for the same. I visited for the time and traveled 40 minutes from where I live. I must say it was worth it to travel. The taste could have slightly improved though food quality and service was awesome. Also, the price could have been lesser considering the quantity. Looking forward to visiting again.
