Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week: July 29 | Eater LA

"I swung by the low-key, excellent Manor Bar for well-made cocktails before heading to dinner at Caruso’s; the bar felt relaxed and the cocktails were clearly well executed." - Eater Staff

What an experience! Celebrating my birthday with my friends and Byron took great care of us. He was so attentive and the drink recommendations were spot on. I like sweeter drinks, I think their Mezcal drinks were pretty solid. Loved the grilled chicken on the salad it was to die for.

Such a quiet quaint ambiance. The bar tender was very helpful and checked on me often to make sure everything was okay. It was my first time there and he made a couple of suggestions. I ordered The Monk and a pizza, the Monk was so delicious it has a smoky taste to it but a hint of sweet which I liked. I highly recommend The Monk. The pizza was good too. The atmosphere is a whole vibe on it's own. It reminds me of a gentleman's speakeasy. LOL... I will definitely go back again when I'm in town.

A cozy and warm bar. Be ready to pay up for a drink unless you stick to beers! The jazz band on Th night is great. The staff really knows the menu and their drink knowledge is evident. I enjoyed the cocktail theme of female authors and the menu in the style of a book. Also, I loved the ice cube in my drink!

Love Manor! So many great memories including NYE, Birthdays, and the 4th Of July. Love the atmosphere and music, bartenders are ninjas, service is always high level, and one of the best burgers in town! Oh yeah, the Brookie is a top 5 dessert for me! If I could give more stars I would!

Not your typical hotel bar. BEAUTIFUL space, comfortable and working to create a great experience for everyone. Innovative menu, knowledgeable staff who are very friendly. Great job, I'll be back

What happened to this place? Came here last year, had a wonderful time, ordered tons of appetizers and had great service. Just revisited again, didn't get any service for a long time and the menu lacks options. Thanks for killing my my desire to come here again. The Inn at Spanish bay lobby bar at Pebble has much better and consistent service year after year, can definitely skip this Manor bar in the future.

We are locals and love the Miramar. Manor Bar has great service, comfortable seating and tasty bites. Fourth of July was the best!

The best most comfortable lounge/bar in Santa Barbara. Amazing staff, great food and drinks.

Yelp
Beautifully crafted drinks and classy appetizers along side with perfect customer service that is very professional and personable. Each drink has a story and glasses are said to be made in Italy.

Yelp
Short Review: Great bar at the resort, with attentive bartenders and great drinks. Long Review: Came to this resort to charge the Tesla, and went to the bar to kill time. Amazing experience! Had the Looking Glass specialty cocktail which came with the drink being presented inside a "bird house". Really good gin-based cocktail. Friendly bartenders and barflies too. Opulent surroundings - this particular bar looks kind of like a library. Overlooks an event area (for weddings) and is a lot of fun. If you're in the area stop in.

Yelp
If you're ever passing through Montecito on your way in or out of LA, definitely make a stop at the Rosewood, specifically the Manor Bar. The cocktails are incredibly creative, and the presentation is half the fun--each drink tells a story. The vibe is warm, the setting is stunning, and the service is top-notch. Yes, prices are on the higher side, but they come with thoughtful service, light snacks to nibble on, and a lovely view. If you're a cocktail aficionado, the Manor Bar is absolutely worth the visit. It's a gem--elegance, creativity, and innovation all in one.

Yelp
Exceptional cocktails and guest service. Beautiful and intimate space to read and enjoy the evening. My favorite part is their unique literary themed cocktail menu in the evening. Valet parking is also excellent.

Yelp
Very much a vibe when you come here. Top tier everything you will not leave disappointed. Atmosphere is very vintage and gives very much a speakeasy vibe. Every drink here is made and handle with care. You will taste the difference .

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous, exquisite bar at the luxury Rosemont Miramar Beach Hotel in Montecito. One minute, we were overlooking the ocean at the beach bar. The sun set, so we were walking back through the hotel, and heard the most beautiful live music coming from the bar, we had to stop in. We were immediately transformed from the beach to a handsome, inviting old-library like bar with leather chairs, couches, spectacular bar and piano right in the center. Highlight was the amazing Brandon Wattz who had a phenomenal voice. His "Luck, be a Lady Tonight" was mesmorizing. The theme is subtle but really wonderful - the menu is a leather bound book, "Chronicles of Cocktails" - stories by women, about women, that they have transformed into incredibly creative hand-crafted cocktails. It was a lot to take in, so I went with the bartender's recommendation - "The New Wilderness" - Monkey 47 Gin, Cardamom-Infused St. Germain, Dolin Blanc, Verjus Blanc, port wine, Angostura bitters, with a Green Chartreuse Mist. Inspired by the dystopian novel, "The New Wilderness by Diane Cook (2020). The presentation was magical - it showed up in a glass case filled with the smoky mist; when I opened it, the mist billowed out, and there was my cocktail, sitting in a little forest of moss and twigs. Totally mind-blowing. The drink was really amazing, too. This bar and it's mixologists have won all sorts of awards as one of the best bars in the country by Food & Wine, James Beard, etc. Definitely worth a splurge to go check it out, and bonus if it's one of the Thursday nights when Brandon is singing! For other recommendations, stop by the concierge and talk to Sofia - she's incredible.

Yelp
My absolute favorite bar! Been a local patron since opening day, and have introduced friends local and abroad to this fantastic place since. A speakeasy vibe with excellent craft cocktails, amazing guest bartenders from time to time, and a vibe more friendly and welcoming than I have found elsewhere. From the amazing managers and the terrific bartenders, to the friendly and engaging servers... I always enjoy every visit and am lucky to have it so close! Especially love going on the weekend when you can catch amazing live music too!

Yelp
This place is SO FUN! Great classy, cozy sexy bar to go with a date or with friends. Thursday-Saturday they have live music, strong drinks and plenty of people to look at. The music artists are great and the crowd gets going later in the night when the drinks are flowing. The bar is also great and you meet a lot of different people who are in town for weddings or just locals. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
I really like this bar tucked inside the rosewood Miramar hotel. The vibe is dark, intimate and expensive. I love the live music and the cocktails are great! Service is always prompt and friendly. Great place for a date or come alone and mingle. There's always something to look at here!

Yelp
Matt B. and I spent Thanksgiving week at his dad's in Montecito, and on the Wednesday night in the cold and dark, we decided to walk to the Miramar for a nightcap. This wasn't our first time drinking at the hotel--we've been to the oceanfront bars a couple times, where we feel like we're getting the view/atmosphere/Rosewood experience for the relatively affordable price of two unreasonably expensive, mediocre cocktails. The Manor Bar doesn't come with views of the water, but it is an exceedingly lovely hotel bar and the cocktails are actually good. We walked in around 10:00 the night before Thanksgiving, and the place was calm but not empty, which felt ideal. It was beautiful and cozy in a cigars-and-whiskey lounge kind of way, with dark wood paneling, intricate ceiling work, a fireplace, and leather and plush fabric furniture. We sat at the bar, which was very attractive, and ordered a round of drinks from a friendly, formally dressed bartender. All the cocktails were named for books--a cute touch--and we got A Game of Thrones and a Catch-22. A Game of Thrones was a scotch drink with Glenmorangie 10 yr, Talisker 10 yr, lemon, citrus oleo saccharum, and egg white. An excellent cocktail, smoky and bright with a nice creamy froth on top. The Catch-22 was balanced and boozy, with Hennessy VSOP, Whistle Pig 10 yr, Dolin Rouge, and Benedictine. We noticed a smoking cloche behind the bar and talked to the bartender about what it was used for, apparently a cocktail that wasn't on the current menu (but which he seemed perfectly able and ready to make). Maybe we'll try it next time we're at the Manor Bar. I suspect we'll make the walk over whenever we're in town.

Yelp
Love the drinks here! Some of the more unique tasting drinks I've had. Will definitely be back for more. Great atmosphere and service was good.

Yelp
Loved the service, speakeasy vibes, and I enjoyed my fries. I saw someone get a cocktail delivered to them in a tiny cabinet with smoke...no idea what was going on there but it seemed cool. Live music was good and the energy in the room was great. Impossible to have a bad time here.

Yelp
This review is for the Manor Bar: excellent cocktails. Excellent service. I've been here a few times and the service has improved each time. Since it's new I believe they're still working out the kinks but they seem to be in a good flow now. Come here to get just far away from Santa Barbara to feel like you're in another town without actually being too far away. The ambiance is classy, and the service from the staff is top notch. The dress code isn't exactly enforced but it's on the nicer side for sure. Quality of the drinks is impressive. Bartenders know what they're doing. Highly recommend if you don't mind the $17 price tag for cocktails. But in this case, you get what you pay for. Will be back for sure.

Yelp
A wonderful wood paneled clubby bar in the Rosewood Miramar this is a nearly perfect spot to enjoy fireside drinks and (at times) music. While we have come for years, I removed one star as the vast collection of dirty glasses on the bar top has somehow become a signature of the space. Also the food menu was better when the resort first opened with Caruso's Rigatoni being a beloved dish. Staff are kind, thoughtful if not all polished.

Yelp
This is the place! Grand entertainment and wonderful drinks Thurs Fri Sat. The place was packed wall to wall and there is a reason. service is a bit spotty with servers learning the ropes but alm will be well with time. Come and enjoy this wonderful bar.

Yelp
LU MONTELEONE = AMAZING! Ok, so my wife and I have the two most extraordinary experiences we have ever had at a resort, and then we head to the Manor Bar at the Rosewood Miramar to soak up some wood paneling in a totally new distinct setting. As my wife admires the architecture, I become absorbed with one of their books they have out called the Big Book of the Hamptons. Both of us absorbed in our pursuits, out comes this incredibly gracious and beautiful gal named Lu to greet us by asking how she could serve us. It was as she was in the wood paneling and saw us. We talked for 15 minutes about the resort and why she loved it so much at the Miramar. By the way, her full name is Lu Monetleone. This gal is a masterpiece who will change your life forever. She was so well informed about the resort along with completely immersed in making sure we were totally satisfied with out visit. Whatever you do go see Lu in the Manor Bar. She treats the bar as if it were her home. Once again Rick Caruso, and the Rosewood have gone the extra mile and found a gem by hiring Lu to mirror what this resort is all about, and that is being extraordinary!

Yelp
Best bartender super friendly and knowledgeable. I asked for a super complicated cocktail that was on the menu 3 years ago and made it in a jiffy. Love the live music and the vibe. Would come back any day

Yelp
I did not dine in the full service restaurant, but I invited guests for heavy appetizers and cocktails at the Manor House Bar fir my friends birthday. Our sever Corina, maybe spelled with a K, was EXCELLENT. The rest of the staff seemed to be a little stressed and disorganized, but this woman kept her cool. One of my guests got a little too tipsy and snappy, to the point where I was slightly mortified, but Corina dealt with her misbehavior without so much as a détectable eye roll. WELL DONE CORINA!!! I know how hard that is to do. The food was delicious. We had the sliders, charcuterie and assorted cheeses. I felt that the cocktails and wine by the glass were a better pour than you might expect. I felt comfortable paying the higher price for the quality of the drinks. I liked this venue because I saw just as many familiar faces as new people. The decor is FABULOUS, with heavy emphasis on the fabulous. Art Deco with a very subtle modern twist giving a much appreciated nod to what The Mirrimar Hotel was in its Golden Age. I can't wait to try the full service restaurant. There are a few kinks to that need to be ironed out, but that is expected in a venue as new and prestigious ad this. Everyone was trying their best to work as a team, and that Is as good as a road paved with gold to success! Not only will I be back again, but I plan on becoming a regular! Again, many thanks to Corina who made our experience so wonderful.
